The wigs looked amazing but not the hair extensions so much. You would have to buy 2 or 3 packs to cover your head.

Mid-K Beauty Supply #1 provided various hair care products and hair choices for everyones hair care needs. I was able to find my daughter a beautiful wig for prom without having to special order, it was already in store. The customer service I received was personable and the store associates were friendly and willing to assist me in finding the best fit for my daughters needs. I would shop the location a thousand more times, plus I recommend all my family and friends to stop by and explore the selection of products.

The young lady that assisted me was very sweet, the stars are for her alone.I bought about $200 worth of product. Two bundles 20in, says 100% human hair. It is a deep wave and treated. Not raw hair as stated and definitely behaves like a synthetic blend. Just terrible.My gripes...1. False advertisement to make a quick buck. Smh.2. And the owner that rang me up... Asian, rude and disconnected as is the stance with most Asians towards certain cultures.To be utilized is a form of exclusion. Customer service is the only thing that seperates you from everybody else.Some people would be better long term clients. You will not receive long term or repeat from this type of behavior.

Thankful people of melan have somewhere to go for their hair products BUT! Im so tired of not being able to supply my own Black owned products in these kind of places. Sence most of the products are by Caucasian developers we have offered to contract with them a distribution agreement to try and get our products in and make them available as much as possible. Still til this day its not been approved by the owners and we doubt it will ever be agreed upon. Thats why I can not give this business a 5 star review.

A little hard to find stuff, there should be little placards for the different sections of items to help you navigate, customer service was great they were just a little busy.

This is one of the best spots to get all of your ethnic hair needs and more. The people are much friendlier now than they used to be 25 years ago when I first started going to Mid-K. Originally they were pretty rude and generally treated every person as if they were a thief or shoplifter. I think because they are in the hood theyve had some run-ins with the people that had to put them in check for their behavior. Cultural differences being what they are. So, now they are a lot easier to deal with and seem to be a lot nicer. New Generation of owners Maybe?

Picking up wigs with my aunt

I do not recommend this place they do not know what they’re talking about. the owners and the people that are running the place don’t know any thing about Ethnic/black hair or extensions in general....I called the shop about wigs and different brands of wigs and they couldn’t tell me anything about them they acted like they didn’t know the brands of wigs they carry which is crazy to me, they seemed irritated that I was even calling asking questions Very rude and disrespectful I do not recommend.... PERIOD.....

A very busy beauty supply. A large assortment of hair care products.This is a Asian owned business. The old guy standing at the door has no customer service skills (Couldnt even look customers in the eye or say Hi or Thank you for bring business here). He reminds me of the Koreans in South Central Los Angeles. They never really cared about you just your money.I think it is about time more black owned beauty shops need to open that really care about there community and enrich it not just extract money for their people.

Always great prices. The staff isnt the best, but thats not why I shop here. If ever there were to be another black beauty store to open up with comparable prices, and stellar customer service I guarantee they would go out of business the first week. However for now its cheap, and provides me with what I need to represent myself the way I want, so 5 stars to helping this beauty look and feel good.

They have a decent selection of ethnic hair products, mixed with mid-to-higher-end general styling products and tools. They also have a wide variety of wigs and weaves, both, of natural and synthetic material, and of varying levels of quality and prices. Their makeup section is fairly decent, and theyve got other items and trinkets, such as shoes, scarves, earrings, sunglasses, and so on. They also tend to keep up with the latest products and beauty trends. My only issue is that they dont seem to restock often enough. Theyve sporadically, across the years, been out of some of the things I purchase regularly; for several visits in a row lately, so far, theyve been out of some things, in fact.

The place is clean and efficient. Mask are required and only 10 customers inside at a time. I felt safe.

Wow this place is amazing. There prices are so unbelievably cheap, and the quality is really good to. Its a huge store with hair extensions galore for every hair type. As for the employees the one lady I talked to didnt seem to know anything. But the Asian guy overheard my questions and quickly jumped in to help me find what I was looking for.

They carry a wide selection of pretty much every beauty supply a woman may need including weaves and wigs. Plenty of makeup, skincare and accessories. Their human hair wig collection is few but they have many lace front synthetics that a woman can pull off well.

As a white person, I was intimidated by the whole process of buying a wig, But the sales associates made the process easy and comfortable. I bought a synthetic wig the first time I visited. It was on sale and I only spent about $30.A couple of months later, I decided to splurge and invest in a real hair wig, so I went back a second time, after trying to buy online first and being unsatisfied with what I got.I ended up getting a beautiful, full lace cap, 100% real human hair wig for $170.The sales associates were friendly and helpful. They helped me try on the wigs and gave me advice on what kind to buy. They also informed me of any sales and I saved so much money!

Most of the staff are not friendly and the prices are double what they should be. I did some research and find one pack of hair almost triple the price from online (the same product from the same company).Personally, I will not go back to the store because it takes advantage of the community by not being fair with pricing. Although Im new in Portland, I have a feeling that people will still continue to go, but I will not spend my money in a place that does not value my community and you get treated like your going too steal something AS SOON AS you walk through the door.No thank you!

I was a first time wig buyer, but I just bought my second as a direct result of the customer service I received.Make sure to ask for Laitoyia, because this lady knows her wigs! I will continue to shop here for my hair fashion needs and tips :).It is so much fun!!

I want there with a friend, I found that there are various selection of wigs and beauty supplies. Since I get a hair and beauty product from a company which manufacturing a natural product and sale to the custumer at whole sale price I didnt buy any. But I picked a nice wig for my presentation day and the associate helped me to choose the right one. That was a great fit.

I only went for a short visit right before closing time so i couldnt explore much, but even at a glance I can tell they have a lot of products and seem to keep them well-stocked. The store appeared clean and neat. The reason for the low rating is the lack of friendliness from the staff as I arrived. I felt like an invisible woman going in. Not a greeting or even friendly smile was directed my way. When 10 seconds later another woman came in, presumably a regular, she was greeted and even even joked about her coming in right on time before closing.

Did.t have what I want color of hair

Very, very large beauty supply store.Even bigger selection of wigs, both costume and regular.Not such a big selection of mundane beauty supply needs, nor a very helpful staff. Id suggest going down the street to Living Color, which had a better select and more helpful staff. (I have no financial or social ties with either business.)

Had exactly what I was looking for. When we first entered, we were greeted immediately, but I was able to just look around without being bothered, which I greatly appreciated being an introvert. So if you are an introvert or have social anxiety and need a beauty supply store with minimal social interaction, this is a good one 😄.

They sell the hair color I use, but in support of my neighbors I will no longer be shopping here. Not until they learn to respect and value their clientele. As a white customer I have never been made to feel uncomfortable, that was until I saw how they treated a well kept woman of color while I was in there. This is not okay, there was no reason to be disrespectful and degrading to your ready and willing to pay CUSTOMER.I can just as easily order what I want online and wait the 3 days for shipping.

This place is specifically for POC by POC and I went in expecting that i wasn’t the target and was just fine with that. However, i was extremely impressed by the customer service and prices. Great stock of make up and hair supplies!
