I needed new aids and was recommended to Hearing Health. VERY professional. I needed special earmolds and they were a perfect fit when I got them. I am very pleased with both my new aids and Hearing Health.
We were visiting our daughter in Portland for the Holidays. I had a problem with one of my hearing aids and dropped in to see if I could get it serviced. Pat did the job successfully. I was very impressed by his friendliness and competence.I would be a customer at HEARING HEALTH if we lived here. This is the “go to” place for hearing issues.Dr. Jeff Breen
I am a musician. I needed molds for some custom earplugs and I found this place. They are fantastic. Not only did I get molds in a quick visit, they provided me with an in-depth hearing exam. Turns out I have excellent hearing! So glad to know that. And now with the moldings I will get earplugs to help maintain my good hearing. Thank you Hearing Health!!!
I have been a client/patient at Hearing Health for several years now. Duane is a thorough professional. His care for each patient is beyond anything I had ever known before. The product lines here are quality, and recommendations are customized. This is not a high volume, pump em out practice.I always feel like my concerns are addressed completely, and my business is valuable here.Hearing Health opened a whole new world to me with the right hearing aids customized to my needs. I am forever grateful to Duane for that. Please! Use the expertise available here! It can be a life changer.
You really can get something for nothing. I got the most comprehensive hearing exam ever with Duane and he spent the time to show me all the options available to me to correct my hearing issues, and it cost me nothing. I was so happy with the service he provided that I purchased a pair of custom fitted ear plugs to protect my hearing at work. They are awesome!
Duane is the best audiologist my 92 year old mother has ever had! She is now able to hear my brothers voice and have a conversation with him for the first time in years. She could not be happier.
My grandfather and I came in to Hearing Health for a simple repair of his hearing aid. Everyone at the office was friendly, polite, and very considerate to my wonderful grandfather. The issue with his hearing aid was expertly addressed and our appointment took no time at all! We had a great experience and I would definitely recommend this office to anyone looking for a great personal experience for hearing help.
I am so glad I got my first hearing evaluation. I was a little nervous at first, but Duane was so great at explaining everything and really listened to me. I highly recommend everyone, especially those of us 60 and older, to get a hearing eval as part of a good overall health plan.
My 95 year old mother was visiting from out of town and was having a terrible time with her hearing aids. I found Hearing Health and they got us in quickly. Duane cleaned them and carefully educated us on the devices. He even called the manufacturer while we were there to get more information. We scheduled an evaluation and Duanes expertise got her devices working better than I think they ever had before. She was almost in tears from the joy of getting so much back. Thanks Duane!
Duane has been helping me with my various hearing difficulties for about a year.He has been very generous with his time and services. He is patient about listeningto all of my hearing aid problems. I was so frustrated with my hearing aids that I wasconsidering spending a lot of money on new ones. Duane calmly evaluated all my problems and proceeded to solve them. I saved a lot of money because he was able to reset my hearing aids to my satisfaction. I plan to go to Duane for any hearing difficulties, checkups and possible new purchases as long as he is in business.
Duane from Hearing Health provided me a hearing evaluation for free. He was very knowledgeable and I could tell he really cared about what I was experiencing and wanted to help. I really felt comfortable and secure knowing that he had a lot of experience and all the best equipment for testing.
Duane was the only one who would help me when I was in dire need of a being able to hear for work. I called him on a Friday afternoon and he was able to get me in on a Saturday. He took his time and explained to me that my current hearing aid was really not worth the money to fix. He set me up with a loaner, and referred me to DHS for help in getting new and updated hearing aids for my hearing loss and to help me keep my current job. Duane helped with making sure that all my needs were met for my new hearing aids. Duane is able to accommodate me around my work schedule. Some of the other local places I called would not even schedule me in for over a week. I am so glad that I found Hearing health. Duane gives you all the information you need about the different types of hearing aids, but helps you understand the correct ones for your type of hearing loss. If you want a friendly person who understands what your needs are.
Duane is a straight-shooter. I believe he is honest, sincere, and trustworthy. His goal seems to be to give me the best experience in hearing improvement.Once you visit with Duane, your hearing problems become his problems and he will be at your service from then on out, FOR NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE. I’m not sure how this works for him in the long run, but I have had perhaps ten visits to see him for adjustments/check-ups, and cleaning, over the past couple years (all included in his original fee.) More than once I have told him that there is a defect in my aids, to have him patiently show me that they are clogged with wax, or that I have fiddled too much with the settings. He assures me every problem with Siemens hearing aids is due to user error, and that is why he recommends them…….”they never need repair.”Prior to visiting Duane, I read more than once that the most important factor in successful use of hearing aids is the person fitting and maintaining them. I now believe that to be true. I also believe that Duane has the talent and attitude to see that you get the most out of the instruments. He will treat you right.
Duane is above & beyond when it comes to everything about hearing & hearing health (a play on words vs business name!). Duane ALWAYS spends the time necessary to make sure you get exactly what YOU need. Making your experience pleasant & gives you many opportunities to pick what works for you & your budget. He is not in this hearing device business just for the money. Duane cares about you, about his program & the life he can give back to you. He wants you to hear what youve been missing & you didnt even know what you were missing. I can now hear the birds singing, the water in my fountain bubbling, the little things I didnt even realize I was missing. You owe it to yourself to get your FREE hearing exam & open up your life to LIFE.
Im a retired music teacher and musician who has a very advanced hearing loss. This is a serious problem for someone whose whole livelihood depends on being able to hear, and hear well. I tried hearing aids, but the people who sold them didnt seem to understand a lot about sound itself and were unable fit me with hearing aids that could do what I needed to have done in order to successfully teach and perform music. When I came to Duane I met the first hearing aid specialist that really knows the equipment he sells, and was able to give me the most comprehensive hearing test I have ever had. As a result he was able to set me up with the best hearing I have experienced in many years, and at a cost much lower than I had paid in the past. For me, its given me the ability to continue performing and teaching, has made life better at home (its so hard on family and friends when they cant communicate because you cant hear), and I can look forward to hearing so many outstanding performances that are going on all the time here in Portland.I cant thank you enough, Duane, for what a difference you have made in my life.
I’m very pleased that I chose Hearing Health and Duane Smelzer, audiologist, for my hearing aid needs. I’m fairly new to the Portland area, having spent my last 19 retirement years in a semi-rural, relaxed environment. Portland’s frantic busyness overwhelms my laid back lifestyle. When my hearing aids quit and left me communication challenged, I searched the internet for an audiologist in an area I was semi-familiar with, who listed my hearing aid type on his/her web page. I targeted the Beaverton/Hillsboro area since that would be easy, traveling over Cornelius Pass from my home, and finally zeroed in on Duane in Raleigh Hills. It was a little farther than I wanted, but I made an appointment to check it out. Duane greeted me with courtesy, respect, friendliness and a good understanding of my hearing needs, and I appreciate and am grateful for his care. I returned the other day for my third follow-up maintenance on my new hearing aids and am still pleased. Thanks, Duane.
