I love this store. One of the few small independent stores that offers consistent organic products. The owner is almost always present to oversee the quality and both she and her staff are knowledgeable and helpful. They have a great selection of vitamins and health products so we don’t have to go to the big chain stores or order online and you can be sure of the quality. Check out the selection of bottled drinks that you don’t see anywhere else!

We live in Newburyport and drive here for most of our shopping. They are very legit about organic products and the customer service is terrific. A lot of the produce is from Farmer Dave and all are organic. Even the selection of meats are good.Everyone is friendly and helpful and they know their inventory up and down. Love this store!

They have a great selection of eclectic natural foods and items that I cannot find in other places. Worth checking out. Prices are good too.

The Portsmouth Health food store is my go to shop for diverse flavorful foods, vegan alternative to just about anything you need and not to mention many locally sourced items as well. I am from New Mexico and I found authentic vegan tamales in the freezer section from a wonderful restaurant located in Boston! So nice not to have to drive all the way to the city.

Used to be good but increasingly not. The kitchen used to be so great and accommodating too but not so much anymore. Guess I’ll go elsewhere.

Great selection! Wonderful staff!! These are just two reasons why they have been around for years...and hopefully many more!!!!!!

I always enjoyed shopping at this store. I will give two stars because they have good products.I had an accident in their back stairway. I fell and broke my nose. I still have cuncusion symptoms. I am starting treatment for my vision issues. I can pay for that because they recently gave in and gave me a small settlement.My accident was in November 2018. Their lawyers would never let me give my statement. So now I can. Please be careful when you enter the store from the back entrance. I hope this doesnt happen to anyone else.

Best place in town to get refills of detergent, shampoo etc. Not cheap though. Also love the eco products they carry and the little cafe at the back - great gluten free parties soups and sandwiches.

Love the selection of bath and body products! The bulk section is varied, has grains, legumes, spices, and I believe coffee! I would like to see bulk liquids, such as laundry soap and olive oil at the store. Staff is very friendly and will gladly help you with whatever you may need.My only qualm is that they do not sell soap nuts, however they are easy to acquire online!Overall, one of the best health food stores I have ever been to! Smells wonderful! They even have reference books to flip through at your leisure!Will be returning time and time again!

I am so grateful for this place!!! I go on my lunch break at work and they are always incredibly helpful and friendly. I am obsessed with the vegan TLT sandwich they offer at tears made food counter in the back, not to mention they have a wide array of herbs, bulk food, tea, supplements and sooo much more!!!

Lots of organic items & some hard to find supplements. Items are a little expensive but its one of the best in the area. Parking is across the street & behind the store but youll need 50 cents. They have bathrooms but you have to ask the cashier, and walk upstairs. Make sure they give you the right key, a cute blond lady gave me the womens key (didnt work on mens room). Staff is cheery & playful

Lots of options for those looking to get everything from quality supplements, natural & organic products including shampoos, toothpaste, bulk food items and getting a quick bite. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable of course.The product selection for supplements are great. You can find just about everything here. Prices are tad bit higher but considering its Portsmouth its not all that surprising. I frequent this location and highly recommended!

This is a great (but not inexpensive) store that carries amazing organic food. Im always careful about what a guy here because it can be very expensive but everything they sell is excellent and sustainable in every way.

Great health food store. Good selection for the size. Madelines kitchen in the back makes amazing sandwiches. Sometimes the staff isnt quite up to par, but that doesnt prevent me from coming here.

Great variety of low waste products, a bit pricey. Would be great if they added a composting bin available to the public as part of the cafe.

Portsmouth Health Food has it all ... great selection of vitamins/supplements/herbs/oils/ect, grains, nuts and along with natural household products. They also have a sandwich counter that Ive never had the opportunity to try, but it looks great.It is a bit expensive, but there is no +wholefoods close to Portsmouth (although +traderjoes just came in) and the staff are extremely knowledgeable and friendly.10/10 would go again.

Good grocery and bulk selection. Limited bread and produce. Have lots of organic meats and dairy.

A bit on the expensive side as far as produce and food go, but they have a good variety of items in their bulk bins and a good variety of holistic items. There is parking across the street and in the lot behind the building.

Good selection for the size, mostly nice staff but prices are brutal compared to co-ops, thrive market or whole foods
