I was passing through Potsdam on a Saturday afternoon to go to a conference in Vermont when the transmission went on my car. I was all by myself and had no idea what to do, when I found Mahoneys online. They were the only car rental place open on a Saturday afternoon. I gave them a call and they were so nice, and very willing to work with me. They rented me a car even when car rentals werent typically allowed on weekends, and the staff was so polite. They picked me up from my car, and really tried to make me feel better during this very stressful experience. If you are ever in the Potsdam area I highly recommend checking out the fairly low cost rental options they have available. They also have some pretty nice cars for sale too. I came here because I was having issues getting approved anywhere due to low credit. They were willing to work with me despite my credit, which was great. However, they also sold me a car at a much higher price than it should have been. When I was given the car, it was absolutely filthy on the inside, despite being told it would be cleaned. And when I brought it back in to be cleaned properly, I ended up waiting 3 hours “to ensure it was done properly this time”, only to get it back and find it almost exactly the same. All they did was clean the exterior, and the floors. My back seats are still stained with mud, and the rear window is still filthy. I can even still see the outline from a giant sticker that was on the window from a previous owner. The only thing keeping the score from going lower is the excellent service I got from the salesman, Tom. He was great to work with, did everything he could for us, and was even willing to work with me to try to find a car that was more suited for me, instead of just trying to get me out of the door with whatever the most expensive thing they had was.

I am currently looking for a specific car. I went to their website on my phone and they wanted my info to view their inventory. So I gave them my info. They didnt have what I was looking for and then went on my way. I get a phone call a little later from Tom. He asks some question and tries to find out what Im looking for. They dont have it. He proceeds to email and call my phone. I block his number and he obviously doesnt get the hint and keeps calling and leaving voice mails. He then proceeds to call me at work. This is my breaking point. I am at work getting paid and shouldnt be harrassed like this. I have told him to stop calling me and that they dont have anything I would even consider buying. If contacted again I will have to call the cops. Sorry this is way too far. You are trying way too hard. Another thing that really bugged me was that he said my maiden name and I never gave him my maiden name. This is almost on the side of stalking. You guys must not get a lot of people so you have to harrass them to come in. Thats not how you do business. I would know. I do not recommend them to anyone. Will be telling people to not go to them. Lose my number. Thanks.

Very unprofessional. Sold my car to Mahoney, they wrote me a check after the title is signed over and now its a problem for them to prove that they wrote me a check sounds kind of sketchy to me.

Received first oil change after purchase with no charge. I waited to find the service manager because he did not let me clearly know that was the case.

Service was mediocre. We spent $500 for a service with Potsdam imports (owned by Mahoney`s automall) when we got there to pick up the vehicle we had to dig it out of a snowbank and the key was not available. Three weeks later and we still dont have the key THIS IS NOT A FAKE REVIEW

Well junk vehicles and refuse to fix them right and the owner calls you a liar when you tell him somethings wrong with the vehicle. Horrible service. Been 4 months and my truck still isnt fixed. One guy he had drive it a month ago got paint all over it and its still not been fixed either.
