I went to Monro for an oil change last week and was out of there in about half an hour. Victor worked quickly and was pleasant when helping me! I would definitely recommend coming here.

I’ve been going here for service for a few years now. Service and repairs are always spot on. The best part however is that George has great integrity and does not try to push unneeded repairs like some other garages do. I’ll be a customer for here for years to come.

Ive been going to George at Monroe Muffler Brake since 1997. Ive brought a variety of unusual cars with unusual problems to him and its never been a mystery. No matter how random of a problem Ive had, no matter how rare the car Ive brought to him, George has instantly known whats wrong, every time. From a tiny squeak heard while pulling my daily driver in for an oil change, he immediately/accurately warned me of a soon-to-fail ball joint. Having lost a wheel due to a bad ball joint once, Im very thankful to have someone trustworthy and skilled as George on my side. Thank you for 21yrs of excellent service!

Open on Sunday, I brought a tire to be plugged. The young man at the desk answered all my questions, invited me to leave the tire and he would get it looked at. In the time it took me to go up the block to get a cup of coffee, they asked for my keys to mount the tire back on the car. The technician put the spare tire back in the wheel well and secured the jack as well. Pulled the car out for me. They could not have been more helpful or more pleasant. It was old school service at its best. Thanks for a terrific experience. I have told everyone how enjoyable it was.

Last week I brought my Yukon XL in for an oil change and because of how nice and efficient George and his staff are, I scheduled an appointment for the following week to have the oil change done on my fiances car. When I arrived to have her oil changed, I asked them to find the exhaust leak. They have gone above and beyond to make sure our vehicles are well maintained and properly repaired. Definitely will be returning for most repairs for the foreseeable future.

I’ve been a customer a long time. My mom has also been a customer for 20+ years. George has always been very pleasant and honest. This place of business never let me down. George is always helpful letting me make appointments, telling me what work I need now and what I can hold off on but should be watching for. Went in for an oil change and was told I needed new brakes as well. They were honest, not just trying to up-sell. They even brought me in to the garage area to show me why they needed to be replaced - was very appreciative of that and again was proof of their honesty. Didnt feel pressured into getting the extra work done. It was done in no time at all, great price, great warranty. Over all very pleased.

Its difficult to find honest mechanics, but the guys at Monro have been the most helpful. I’ve been to the location in Kingston but since moving, Poughkeepsie has been very convenient (and the guys are super nice!) They are fast, efficient, and honest about the work needed. Also, very reasonably priced. I highly recommend them!

This place is so much better now that it is under new management. George is great! Super friendly and nice! I have to say the guys at Monroe definitely took care of me. I was told to see George about my jeep from another shop. Going by what they said, George said budget for $600 after he looked at my jeep test drove it and found the problem it turned out it was the U-Joint in my drive shaft. He also charged much less than the 600. So I also got my inspection and oil change done on my jeep and my wifes Malibu and still have over 200 left from the original $600 budget. Thanks to Georges honesty I was able to get more work done and have a great Mopar mechanic in my local area. THANK YOU!!!

I’ve been at this Monro location about 5 times for several different services (State inspections, oil changes, muffler replacement, rear brakes) and I have had really good experiences every time. Joe and George are both such courteous people. And I am surprised every time at their prices. I’ve had quotes from other garages in the area and Monro is always the least expensive. They always honor the coupons that they mail me. And on top of that there’s often some sort of discount if you use the Drive Card. I’m not someone who likes having a million credit cards, but I recommend their Drive Card. We opened the card when we got that big brake job and got 0% financing for 6 months, which needless to say was extremely helpful. I bring both my Grand Cherokee and my Civic here for everything now.

Man, I love the guys at this location. That manager George really knows what hes talking about, I would never go to another location. That guy Joey is always working hard whenever Im there. Excellent, excellent service.

As a regular customer for years I can assure you that this is one of the best repair shops in Poughkeepsie. We have had many of our cars serviced there and they have never let us down.Great diagnoticans and full service maintenance skill sets on their team. Now more than ever, George and Joe and the whole team are courteous and thorough with their work. On those occasions where I needed their help in an emergency they have always been there for me. Please continue the good work as I know I will continue to use them for all of my familys automotive service requirements. Doesnt deserve a rating with the most recent service Ive received. I took a vehicle to get an inspection and left out of there with them telling me I have to pay $1300 for brakes and shocks... The worst part was I almost got into an accident because whatever they did to the vehicle had my brake pedal touching the floor. Horrible experience and I wouldnt want this to happen to anyone else. Be careful. My vehicle is now parked because I refuse to bring it back to the same guys that carelessly did their job.

Been coming back to the Poughkeepsie location on Mill st for years very satisfied with the staff.

Went for a NYS inspection. Great job. I was in and out in no time and Joey the mechanic was very helpful.

Never ever bring your car to Monro at 350 mill st, Poughkeepsie.Had my car done state inspection with them. And they failed me due to my tires are too old. Told me to change new tires with them which cost $600. Otherwise, they reject to give me state inspection pass sticker. However, I just done my 5000 miles service with dealer two weeks ago and my car is in really good condition, nothing need to be done. Totally scam I cant agree more!
