They lied to me about alterations that were supposed to have been made to my daughters gown. The day before her senior prom I had to find a seamstress to fix her dress after I had already paid them. In addition, they sold me a rhinestone belt for the waist of the gown. I paid to have it sewn on the dress. When I picked up the gown, it was not on the dress. They told me it was lost. They then pulled out a different belt and tried to convince me that it was the one I had purchased. I always loved this store! I have purchased many dresses from them and adored the owner until now. I have referred many customers to them, but they seriously disappointed me. Mistakes happen, but the worst thing you can do is lie to a customer and then charge them for services that were not completed or done incorrectly. If you have to buy a dress here, find a good seamstress elsewhere and take pictures of anything left behind.

I will never recommend this store to anyone First of all what happened to satisfy the customer. Well they don’t have it. Tried to return A dress that A 16 year old had gotten from them. That was not fitted right. You can or should not sell A dress without telling the costumer to try it on first. When we went back they did not want to here anything. Then they tried to tell me how to fix dress. Well I said if I fixed it the lace on it would not match she said so no one would notice it. Well I would know that I did not do the right thing. To pay $600 for A dress and then pay for them to fix it better be right. Told me if I did not leave the store they were calling cops. That is not how to treat A customer after they Paid that much for A dress.

They get no points my wedding was canceled and I put a decent amount down on my dress and now I loss my wedding and my money they should have at least did store credit

Ordered a Terani dress for my sons wedding March 28, 2021. The sample dress in the store was my size. But I wanted a new one. I paid in full $508 for it to be ordered. I was never called to say the dress arrived, so I called July 15th. I was told the dress was in and they werent able to call me because they were so busy with prom season....hmmm. I thought proms were in June. When I called she told me not to come in until the end of August for my sons October wedding. Seems weird with things changing all the time due to COVID. I went to see the dress the next day only to find the dress wasnt ordered the ripped and snagged sample dress on a broken hanger was handed to me. However, she claimed it was a new one. When I asked to see the sample dress I was told it was sold without her even going to check for it. Then she said it came from the manufacturer in this condition. So then she offered to order another, she walked over to the computer pressed 3 buttons then said the dress wasnt available anymore. It took 45 minutes in the store to be told I should just put in a dispute with my credit card company. Well since it was outside of 60 days I couldnt do the dispute. Took another week to get a refund check from the store. NEVER AGAIN. I WILL NEVER SHOP OR RECOMMEND THIS STORE.

I cant say enough good things about Chic Boutique, in the Poughkeepsie Galleria. My daughter and I went shopping for her Prim dress today, and it was a great experience! Barbara has been helping me and my girls since our very first prom in 2014, I didnt even think of going elsewhere. We found the dress today and my daughter is extremely happy.

I can not say enough wonderful things about this shop.First let me say I am a Mother of a bride, a very overwhelming but happy occasion for any Mom. I live 4 hours from this boutique and could not be more ecstatic about the service, tentativeness and time Barbara and Kaitlin have provided to this shop. Every gown imaginable could be found for every body type. My daughter who lives not far from the Poughkeepsie Galleria said to me that I should come down by her and visit this shop as they have everything. She was right. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with smile and service. The first time I arrived was a weekend and being Prom season and Wedding season around the corner, the shop was very busy but did not stop the only two woman, Barbara and Kaitlin from making contact and their availability to each customer. A feat done with ease, The experience put me at ease with the pressure of finding just the right dress. I can not stress how grateful I am to Barbara for all her professionalism, knowledge and opinions on the gowns, alterations and well just everything to help me make choices that will make me feel like the proud Mother of the Bride that I want to be. It was worth the trip and I would never go anywhere else again in the future if I need a gown or a beautiful dress. Thank you Barbara and her team for the wonderful service! Not a bad shop for prom dresses in a mall. Not a lot of staff who could help as you shop. A ton of different styles and colors and almost no room to move around. Some of the prices seemed a bit high for a mall store but they had a lot of variety. Would like to see some better customer service.

They were really nice and friendly. They help me find the perfect prom dress and the tailoring was done pretty quickly. Definitely recommend coming here if your looking for prom dresses.

I went into the store to browse and came out with two dresses. They looked great and fit perfectly. Barbara and Mary are a pleasure to work with. They will help you find a gown, a cocktail dress, or the accessories you need. My tailoring was done overnight. It is easy to support a local business when they’re great at meeting your needs.

I went into Chic Boutique on a whim yesterday to start my wedding dress search and within a half hour found and purchased the dress of my dreams! The staff was extremely helpful, upbeat, and supportive and made finding my dress incredibly easy and enjoyable. They have a wide selection of beautiful dresses, prom and wedding alike, and also have a nice selection of jewelry and shoes. I highly recommend checking them out!

Chic Boutique are extremely nice people!!! I started off with online support with Mona who helped me and directed me here to their 3rd location that specializes in sweet sixteen gowns & she told me to link up with Barbara...Well let me tell you... Barbara is amazing!!! She was so patient and helpful and to top it off.... she was extremely nice!!!!She helped my daughter find a beautiful dress & the color we were looking for too!!!!The dress had some minor issues, but Barbara said she will fix it and while she did... we decided to go grab a bite at the food court... once we had gotten back to the store she was done and she explained to me how to open & close the zipper on the dress bag & also gave me the instructions on what to do the week before the event....We honestly thought we were going to look at dresses that were similar to what my daughter wanted and guess what... it didn’t look good on her.... Barbara found something that went with my daughter’s body type and she looked like a princess!!!! We bought the dress, crown, bracelet, the slip and her sneakers... unfortunately the store didn’t carry her shoe size 11...The drive from Staten Island, NY was totally worth it!!!! We will be back in 2 years for her prom dress....😉Thank you again Chc Boutique!!!

Bought my daughter her Sweet 16 dress here..mind you, this is the 2nd dress we bought here ( the first was her 8th grade formal, dress). The dress had to be altered...when we came in to pick up the dress, there was a pinhole right in the front of the dress. It was not there when we purchased it. The lady, Barbara gave us $20 off, which at that point I had no choice because it was already paid for, and her party was 3 days away...We also bought shoes, tiara, and necklace. My daughter did not wear the shoes, so I went back to return them. They wouldnt take them back! Said the Computer system wouldnt let them, but would give me a store credit...$50 wasted..and Barbara saw me from the back room, and wouldnt come out to talk to me... seriously!!??? What am I supposed to buy? Im returning un-worn shoes, not the dress!! NEVER will I buy from them again!! And buyer beware!!!

My daughter and I had such nice experience today trying on and purchasing her Prom gown at Chic Boutique in Poughkeepsie. We called ahead and they did indeed have the dress we were searching for . From the time we walked in we were greeted and helped by Ricki and Caitlyn. They were so thoughtful and really made our experience exciting. Barbara was also very kind. We really recommend checking out this shopping for your special occasions and are looking forward to picking up the dress in a few weeks!

My daughter was going to buy her wedding dress, shoes and veil there, she found a better deal and ask for a refund. Barbara was super rude with her and told her that there was no refunds, she ask then her shoes and veil to be send to her, and the Barbara refused saying that if she didnt buy the dress from them then they would not ship anything. After trying to talk to the credit card company they say the seller demands the items to be pick up, we live in Montana, and we told the seller that we couldnt travel to pick it up before the purchase and they ensured that they would send the order. At the end... my daughter lost $500 dollars. No dress, shoes or veil just a very rude seller.I understand if she wants to keep the deposit but we gave all kind of options to her and a) she refused to ship the shoes and veil once we communicated we were not going to purchase the dress b) ended up charging full amount to our credit card c) refuses to ship the items she charged when we told her upfront items needed to be shipped as we lived in a different state. Absolutely disappointing and frustrating!!!!!

I bought a dress here for a wedding as I was a bridesmaid. I was fitted wrong and so my dress came in in a completely wrong size. I called a number of times to try and sort the issue out and received no calls back. Not impressed.

I came in today looking for a dress for my sweet sixteen and there was a young lady and she was very polite and helpful.I have came in before and these older women were very rude and acted like I was going to steal from them.They need to realize that in order to recieve more service and customers they need to treat their customers with more respect!

Buyer beware!!! We bought my daughters prom dress here; had the alterations done on site they were terrible...she completely ruined the dress. When approached the owner just ignored us. We ultimately wound up going somewhere else and now we are stuck with a botched dress...tried to take back the shoes we bought and were given store credit. The worst customer service ever!!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! Horrible experience their dresses in stock are either in small sizes or extremely large 5-6X and very cheap looking. Very few in the usual sizes women wear so you are forced to try on a dress either too big or too small and try to invision how it would look in your size because they will not other it unless you buy it. So if you dont like it your stuck. Plus they push alterations very hard. Dresses range from $299-600 and like I said they are very cheap looking. Plus the saleswoman had no idea what she was doing.

I bought my sweet 16 dress here in 2015 and I just put my junior prom dress on layaway earlier today. Everything to me here is perfect and I love the service I get and the people I meet.

A wonderful, helpful and patient staff, gorgeous dresses and shoes, a lay-a-way program, and alterations, this place has everything you could ask for when searching for a prom dress.

Would give no stars if i could. This place is just awful. The owner is disgustingly rude, her dresses in store are shabby and ripped with the gems falling off. Would never shop here again. On top of everything, she will order the wrong size dress so she NEEDS to tailor it for an additional fee. Nothing but an unpleasant experience every time I give this woman another chance, 3 times is enough. This store should be out of business, Ive never recieved such terrible service in my life.

I wish they had negative star rating. This place is a rip off. My daughter tried on a Jovani dress and fell in love with it. The store had to order her size. She’s a size 6 all across the board. The owner/ store manager convinced me she needed a size 8 given her expertise and knowledge of jovani dresses. I trusted her. The dress was $590 plus tax $616. When the dress was received at the store we went in to pick up the dress and the dress was to big.I reminded Barbera owner/store manager that I said I needed a six and she insisted I need an eight. She then assured me not to worry that she would make alterations and the dress would be perfect for another $150. She said all sales are final reguardless of wrong size being her fault. So I agreed to alterations to receive the dress a week before prom. Alterations were a joke she stitched the sides of the corset causing it to bulge in the stomach area and then says there’s nothing else that can be done to better perfect the fitting of the dress. We’re so disgusted with her and her unfair business practices $776.00 later and were stuck with an in uneven dress that’s extremely to big and my daughter doesn’t t feel beautiful or confident in this dress. Such a waste. Dont ever trust them.

Becareful they switch sizes when you order to have you pay for alterations.. Look at the size tag when you order a dress it glued. If you order and they say you must have lost weight they are LYING!!
