Low pressure used car purchasing experience. They had a vehicle that I was interested in purchasing for my son. When we showed up, they greeted us and asked that we let them know if we wanted to test drive any of the vehicles they had. We walked around checking out some of the other cars they had on the lot. My son liked the car we went to look at and wanted to test drive it. They made a copy of my license and off we went. We asked if we could bring it to our mechanic to check it out. MAG actually encouraged it and let us bring it about 15 miles away. Once everything checked out, we brought the car back, wrote them a check and we drove away with the car. They did everything else, once I got the insurance paperwork. The easiest purchasing experience I’ve had. And a really nice car at a good price…and I searched for weeks!

If you want a great deal on a solid solid car, this is the place. I got a 2016 Chevy Equinox yesterday and I couldn’t be happier with the service i got from Drew and the deal i got too. Drew was so helpful in thoroughly walking us through the process of buying the car and it couldn’t have been easier I drove the car home the day i saw it. This place is awesome. Was shopping for my first car and was helped by Poppy. He didn’t pressure us, and even put the car in the back with no deposit when we said we were going to sleep on it. Car came with fresh brakes, tires, and AC compressor. Only had it for a day but i love it so far. Most cars seem to come with a 30 day warranty provided by MAG, but check the paper in the window. 100% recommend these guys.

These guys are cheets. Sell cars that are not safe. Reset engine lights before selling cars. Send cars with bad parking brakes and seats that don’t work. Then won’t fix the problems.

Came in expecting there was no way there was such a great deal, then got there on Thursday and went for a test drive and was blown away, worked thought-out the weekend to get everything ready for when I picked up the vehicle and didn’t hide any fees or try to pull any tricks. Explained every fee that was associated with the purchase and made sure I didn’t have to wait any longer, signed 10 documents, gave the check and drove away. Amazed with the ease and simplicity, make sure you ask for John. They have multiple lots to make sure you check before leaving.

I have been driving for decades and never came across a dealer like this. Poppy is unbelievable. After test driving the car (purchased 4-5 months ago, just reviewing now), I started looking it over checking things out since Im familiar with cars. I measured the tire tread depth, they were legal but getting low. He asks how low they are. I say they will need to be replaced in the near future. He gets on his phone and orders 4 new tires. Then I check the brake pads through the wheel spokes (with mini mirror and flashlight). The rears are getting low I tell him. He gets on his phone again and orders new rear pads and rotors. Then I look under the car for rust, etc. He asks if I want them to put it on a lift. But I could see fine, all looks good. Then to help us out further, he also gives us a nice break on the asking price (which was reasonably competitive), in addition to installing the new tires and brakes!

How would like to visit a place where you go inside and you are not greeted by the sales staff. Your interested in a car that was on the website only to find that the car has 2 flat tires, and the engine light come on while the car sounds like its going to explode? Unbelievable that anyone would come to Mags to purchase a car. The two so called sales guys were totally uninterested in making any sales at all. Mags must be doing very well for the sales people Not to come out and see if I was interested in any thing. Absolutely horrible customer service. If i owned the place and witnessed how the customers were treated the so-called sales guys would be fired. You ask if I would recommend Mags Auto, I think you know the answer to that. Whatever happened to Anthony? He was such a great person. He at least showed interest and was willing to help the customer.

First for the service. It was a very pleasant experience from start to finish. Poppy was very nice and super helpful with all of my questions. They even held the car for me while I went back and forth with my credit union for days. I would definitely do business here again. As for the vehicle it is in great shape for the year. The price was more than fair. I drove it home 2+ hours straight off the lot with no issues. Overall Im super happy with my experience here.Update: 4 months later with no issues, just got my first oil change since purchasing. Had the local Subaru dealership look it over while it was in and all was good. No lemon here. Still super happy with the car. Just figured Id leave this here for long term reference.

Bought a car from them on April 18,2020 ..One month later breaks started acting up, I called them and it took me forever to finally have someone make an appointment to bring it to their mechanic. I got informed that break pads and rotors are not on the warranty, ok fine, I still wanted to bring it in to have what needed to be fixed that is covered under the warranty,so I bring my car to their mechanic (which is 35 minutes away from me) only to be told that they cant do it today you will have to come back next week .I said fine I will go to my mechanic .My mechanic looked at it and said its the wheel bearings and they are so bad its clear they went before you bought the car and it never should have passed inspection let alone they never should have sold you the car like this ... needless to say I will never be buying a car from them ever again

Its a used Car why wouldnt you buy it? Poppy thoroughly explained the warranties and my options to let me make a informed decision. Also while I was finishing up my purchase in the showroom, a customer came in who had declined a warranty almost a year before and needed a new transmission. I have been searching for a car for a while now, going to nearly every dealership or auto-body center within an hour radius of Poughkeepsie. If you do read reviews and never believe them you are like me, but please read this: NEVER buy a car from MAG Auto Corp!! I purchased a car on November 5th today is December 27th. I have not driven my car for over 3 weeks because it is BROKEN and un-drivable! I purchased my car after I took it to the mechanic that MAG Auto Corp “trusts” they told me the car was in perfect conditions. I trusted them and purchased the car and payed cash for the full amount! Two weeks later my car broke down and I notified them. Nothing happened until I drove on a Saturday from CT to NY to see them (clearly not with my car). Then I have been told that they would be ready to tow my car on the following Tuesday. Guess what? Yes, they didn’t show up. Then I waited another week and payed for the towing service myself. I brought the car there wanting my money back. They said that would not give me my money back but that they would fix my car under the lemon law. They fixed and brought the car back. Another two weeks went by and my car broke down again!! With the same problem. I contacted them this Monday 12/24 and they claim to be closed for the holidays until January 3rd and can’t do anything to help me out. Meanwhile I have to spend a lot of money on Uber to go to work and back, go to the grocery store... not only that but I was counting on my car to take my parents from Brazil to a few places in America but because MAG can’t do anything to help me during this time I will have to wait another 11 days without a car.

AVOID this dealer December 2017 I purchased a ford edge from SCAM AUTO CORP aka MAG AUTO CORP After 3,061 miles the head gasket went on it, resulting in seizing the engine. SCAM AUTO CORP said theres nothing they can do. I paid just under $10,000 for 3061 miles. Real scumbags. AVOID

UPDATE: Within a year, hundreds of dollars of diagnostics and repairs and still left with a constant check engine light. I guess Im unlucky. Low milage, low cost! Too good to be true.MAG auto is a great family-run business with great prices and no hidden fees or other last-minute tack on prices. I went to take a look at two Prius they had, one at their Poughkeepsie lot, one on their Newburgh lot. It was a hands-off, no pressure day, thanks to these nice people! We got to take both cars for a test drive on our own, which helps when trying to concentrate on evaluating a used car. Mercedes, the owners daughter, helped us at the Newburgh lot. Shes new and learning the business but very friendly! She helped navigate the deal with her father (the owner) over the phone. They had the car detailed and inspected within a couple hours and we were ready to drive home. I did end up finding a few things that needed to be fixed on the car when I got it home (minor things - taillight, air filters) which I got fixed by my own mechanic. MAG refunded 75% of the bill (we live an hour south and the labor was higher) and sent the check right away. They also got us our registration within a week and sent us a DMV refund check for a portion of the cost. MAG wants to make you happy, not take you for a ride! Thanks to Mercedes and the rest of the family!
