Staff and selections are great. They are very helpful but not overbearing. The showroom is pristine and represents their products well. Great place to get ideas when planning a room. Love their Bench Made live edge dining table. The finishes are beautiful. Highly recommend.

Bought a sofa and saved some money during a holiday sale which was nice. Had some minor issues. The sofa was delayed by an additional week, but was never communicated until I called to check the status. They did issue a small discount for the inconvenience after fighting. Also, when I went to attach the two pieces of the sofa together, the brackets where misaligned, which was disappointing. Bassett sent a dude out and put 8 more holes in the bottom of the sofa to mount the brackets in the correct position for attaching the sofa. Ill wait and see how the material and craftsmanship holds up over time, but overall im quite satisfied with the sofa and the people we worked with.

The showroom in beautiful and very inspiring! They are expensive, but they have quality furniture, and their clearence room is worth checking out. They do deliver and set up, and the guys are very quick and helpful, however the delivery took about a month from purchase to arrive.

Great, quality furniture, TERRIBLE customer service. We first got Basset furniture back in 2016. Designed a headboard and got bedroom furniture. The sales associate we worked with was great, until we were billed much higher than the agreed upon price and it took MONTHS of calls back and forth to get it resolved. They also delivered one wrong piece and it took a few weeks to get the right one in.In the market for a new couch, we went back to Bassett against our judgment to do some shopping. We booked an appointment online and when we showed up, our sales associate was no where to be found. The one we were assigned made some rude assumptions about our budget without asking. Nonetheless we worked with her to design a great living room set. We talked over pricing and were satisfied with everything, and planned to place the order the next day. She emailed the invoice and sure enough, it was $600-700 higher than what she told us in store. So glad we didnt order in store, because we almost got duped again. No more Bassett furniture for us!

Incompetent if you are ordering over the phone. Repeated the wood finish color multiple times and it was still wrong. Took over two months to get here even though it was pulled from the floor. Any time I tried to get an update the sales woman was rude.

We purchased a very expensive sectional sofa with performance fabric upholstery from Isabella. The customer service was mediocre at best as she rarely returns phone calls after the sell. Unfortunately, Basset Performance Fabric is NOT what a typical family would consider performance fabric. Literally one drop of water on the fabric and you get a huge permanent ring left on the fabric. Within 3 mos of owning the couch we had rings everywhere— we don’t allow the kids to eat or drink anything besides water while on the furniture and now we keep the sofa covered by blankets and no one is allowed to even have water while sitting on the sofa. It was supposed to be our beautiful sofa with structure and fabric to last for years. We followed the cleaning instructions precisely and it only made the rings more visible and ugly. Now the sofa stays covered with blankets at less than a year old. We just paid it off this month (>$6000) and cannot wait to get rid of it. I do NOT recommend their performance fabric to anyone. Also the gold fabric covering the pillows that came with it fell apart in the first 3 months. I will not shop Basset in the future!

My wife purchased an expensive upholstered bed in a beige tone. They require about 1/3 $ down at sale and 2/3 right before delivery. The bed was shipped without any plastic cover and was strapped to the inside wall of the box truck. I looked in the truck and saw other peoples sofas upside down on the truck floor. There was a black mark across the headboard from the strap and a large crushed imprint, and it even displaced the decorative rows of nail heads. I wrote damaged on the signature line and allowed the guys to leave it here while a new one was ordered. Bassett acknowledged the damage and agreed to replace but they asked us to send more photos even though I saw the photos that the delivery guys took. I called Bassett and asked them to credit the 2/3 cost back to the card while we waited another month and they refused. I had to call the credit card bank and dispute the charge. Later, when the replacement arrived, the guys were out of shoe covers and then they realized that there was no hardware included on the first or second delivery so it could not be assembled. They offered to come back in a few days with the special hardware but I told them to mail it and I would assemble it myself so they are not on my carpet again. The warehouse supervisor did not call us as promised, so we had to call them to make sure it was mailed out.

In short, we will not return. My husband and I were in the North Raleigh area this morning, and stopped in the store today to simply browse and see what Bassett has to offer in the realm of living room sectionals and sofas. We are renovating and on the fence of whether or not to get a new couch. Our visit to the store was merely meant to be exploratory and we were approached by an associate named Pat upon entering the store. We stated we were browsing and made it clear we had no intentions of buying anything. She gives us the normal intro and asked if we had a floor plan and we stated no, we were only browsing. Fast forward we found something in the ballpark of our style and are discussing the piece and she approaches us again. I had some questions around the options of configuration on a sectional. Again, she brings up having a floor plan is necessary to determine options. At this point my husband and I both become a little agitated, we felt that she was patronizing us and we are both educated and work in technical fields. I think my facial response expressed how I felt. At this point she drags us around the store in a attempt to........ what? Try to convince us to buy something despite we stated our intentions upon entering the store? We rushed out of the store and agreed up exiting the parking lot, should we buy a sofa we will be not returning to Bassett for it, or for any other piece of furniture for that matter.

Furniture is quality and you pay for it. Staff was nice and not pushy like some of the other chain furniture stores. Dont forget to account for delivery fees, could be another $200.

We bought our second couch from here in June and are extremely disappointed. Our first lasted 6 years and was very comfortable, but this experience has been very disappointing and Bassett is not assisting with a resolution despite our complaints.When shopping for the couch the sales rep assured us our couch would be firm, and even moved cushions from another couch to reflect the firmness of the cushions. When we received the couch it was apparent it was not as advertised or selected. It was soft and looked immediately worn after a week with seat cushions that did not bounce back. We went to voice our concerns to the store and they were very nice, assuring us they would come up with a solution. They let us know they had told their regional and would call with a solution. We did not receive a call, so we followed up with an email. Now, almost 3 months later an acceptable solution has not been offered despite multiple emails (and extremely slow replies, most taking two emails and two weeks before we hear back). They have offered to replace the cushions with the same material, but we do not believe that is not a solution as the interior will still be soft and not what we were told we were getting with our purchase. Meanwhile our couch looks extremely worn already, is very uncomfortably and soft, and was not a cheap purchase and one we expected to last at least 8 years, as advertised by the sales rep. Overall it’s extremely upsetting to buy furniture you think will last and be comfortable, and then when it isn’t to find the team doesn’t work towards a resolution that will make a repeat customer happy.

Just walked through this store for 20 minutes, nobody said a word to me. Made eye contact with two employees, but not even a hello. Maybe my casual clothes made them think I couldn’t afford, I can only assume. Will be making a big purchase over the next two days but it won’t be here, which is a shame since a couple of pieces were perfect for what we are looking for.

We were greeted at the door but wanted to view options. Were looking for a sofa and rug. We walked around and saw several employees standing around and literally ignored us. I guess they felt the sectional for 8k was something we couldnt afford. Well sir...we could afford it but would never spend that much for the sub par customer service we received. Went down the road and plan to purchase from the other store.

I visited many furniture stores looking for ideas for my living room. The first trip into Bassett, I didnt really connect with the sales person who had approached me. After visiting other stores, I returned to Bassett and started talking to a new designer - Patricia - and had a much better experience. She sat with me and listened to me. She did some drawings for me incorporating some of my ideas with her own ideas to come up with a room I really like. I ended up with a combination of some of my existing furniture and two new pieces; a couch and a chair and a half. Also ordered a few matching pillows.I really appreciate the time Patricia spent with me. I also appreciate the way she gave her honest opinions. Turns out that the problem I was having in designing the living room was that I was trying to make the room look good while keeping an old comfortable recliner. Once she got me to move my old recliner to a different room (in the study now), we had the freedom to work with new colors in the living room that turned out beautiful. Bassett had a huge variety in colors for my leather couch. Once I picked a color I loved, Patricia showed me probably half a dozen upholstry fabrics that matched that I could use for my chair and half.After picking the fabric I liked, Patricia organized the order. The furniture was ready within 3 weeks. I got at least three phone calls keeping me informed of the progress. I was on vacation once it was available and had to ask them to hold it for another week until I got home. They had no problem with that and planned the delivery around my vacation which was great. The furniture showed up exactly at the time we had schedule. The delivery guys were polite and friendly. The furniture looked exactly like what I was expecting. Overall, very happy with my experience shopping at Basset.

Truly the worst customer service experience I’ve had. I drove from Wilmington to Raleigh to find a rug that would go with all the new Bassett furniture I bought for my new home. I was so excited to have found the perfect rug. I ordered it and told the sales girl, Mollie, that I would drive back to pick it up as I did not want to pay the $300 delivery fee or wait for the truck that only delivers to Wilmington every 6 weeks. By picking it up myself I could get the rug sooner. In just a few weeks the rug was in. Local friends of mine went to pick the rug up for me because I was told I would need muscle and they don’t help load any items delivered and picked up at the store. That Sunday I made an early morning drive to Raleigh to get the rug from my friends home. Something didn’t look right to me so I opened the rug to see the inside and to my surprise it was the wrong color. I then waited for the store to open so I could return it. Mollie was very apologetic and helped to reorder the correct rug. They said it would be a couple of weeks. I agreed to come back up to get the rug. However, it’s now been another month and the rug that was only going to take two weeks keeps being delayed. So I said please just put it on the delivery truck. But now the date has changed to a date I’m not available for medical reasons. I finally spoke with the manager who proceeded to tell me I was just an angry person and they would just refund my money back. I could hardly believe my ears. Here I’ve been patient and doing all the work to follow up on where my purchase is and his response is to tell me I’m angry and talk over me and now no rug that I’ve been waiting for. WOW! Just unbelievable. He did not bother to try to find any solution Gil Croy was rude and disrespectful. Hard to believe this is the person managing this store.

My wife and I went to Basset today to look at sofas. We bought two chairs from Basset about a year ago, and came back to look at the Ellery sofa. We had liked it from our first visit, and were considering getting one in leather. After we were passed on by every sales person in the store, including Thomas who sold us the chairs, we decided to leave. Maybe well go back.Four stars because we like the product, but come on people ... dont judge a book by its cover. We had just come from walking our dog at William B. Umstead park, and I guess I didnt look like a typical Basset customer in my rolled blue jeans, Cabellas coat, and cap.

Quality is good but the service was not. I bought a desk and wanted to pick up by myself with my husband. They did not wrap the new furniture and didnt not help loading at all. The product has a green mark on it. They did not cover new product at all while it was there as well. I was planning to buy most of new furniture for my new house but changed my mind.

In desperation I finally had to try a Basset sofa, CU.2 Sofa. As I am writing this review, I can feel the hard wood under my arm where it’s resting on the sofa arm. The hard wood actually hurt my elbow. I’m just grateful that the retailer I bought it from was willing to take it back and give me full refund.

Worst furniture ever! Dont waste your money on buying any furniture from this place! Quality is horrible for the money they charge. We bought our expensive couch set in August and material already has lint in it. For the amount of money that we paid for this sectional I at least expect to have a good quality furniture. What a rip off for this bad quality. Never again!

Bad experience from being given wrong information to being treated like invisible or last class when picking up floor sample furniture. When it turned out that one piece was broken, the answer of the store manager was basically take it or leave it - not a inch of empathy or customer care. Also, While I understand that staff is not allowed to help disassemble the items, there should always be enough time and room to open the door (to get it out). Luckily and embarrassingly for Bassett there were plenty of customers who helped out. Very unhappy customer!

It all started because my husband needed a new chair. Our second stop was Bassett Furniture and we were lucky enough to meet in-store decorator/sales woman Jenny Ellis! Jenny came to our house to measure and discuss our needs and likes. We both filled out surveys so she could help us find our common ground and then she went to work finding just what we needed to transform our Great Room from blah to AH! (Did I forget to say the chair ended up being a room full of comfortable, stylish furniture?) We also decided to repaint the room, replace the old fireplace and have hardwood floors installed, so it was a total room transformation. My husband just could not get over how great everything looked. He actually came into the room several days after everything arrived, and it still caught him by surprise. We have since added two pieces of wall art (again, with Jennys assistance) and a new custom ottoman that matches the pillows on our chairs. We both want to say thanks to Jenny and recommend her to anyone that needs some guidance in furnishing a room or just finding that right piece to go with what you already have.

Over priced, low quality sofas. Purchased a very nice sofa here this past Fall and it’s already piling on the cushions and arms. This is not covered under warranty. Was told to purchase a tool that would help remove the piling. Very disappointed for the price we paid!

I recently purchased two items from Bassett and I could not be happier with the entire purchase experience! First, I bought a custom made recliner utilizing Bassetts wide variety of custom fabrics/leathers. This piece is made with exceptional quality and craftsmanship and is now the true centerpiece in my den ( not to mention is an absolute dream to sit in!) . The in house designers and store manager were incredibly helpful throughout out the entire process of design, order and delivery. 5 stars for bassett on this piece!! Second, I had been looking for custom made throw pillows for a large sectional that I already have and was not having any luck finding a high quality fabric pillow. Well once again, the designers and staff at Bassett really shined here!! These pillows made with amazing quality, down filled, and the fabric is just beautiful!!! I get compliments every time someone comes into the room. I highly recommend this Basset store, its designers, and store manager!! A+ could not be happier!!!

Cheap fabric has excessive pilling.We thought we had purchased quality furniture for the price we paid but in less than a year the fabric has excessive pilling. Too bad we didnt visit consumeraffairs website where you can find many others with the same issue.

Had this store on my mind for 6 months after I saw the perfect sofa there. Waiting to move before getting it just to keep the move simple. I went in today to find it, the Terafina. My wife, daughter, and I were met by an older lady that at first seemed very polite and interested in making our experience pleasurable. The lady informed us that the Terafina was no longer available. Ok, unfortunate. She recommended the Serafina. Not quite what we were looking for but in the ballpark. As we were looking for very specific features I felt compelled to let her know. Simply an effort on my part to help her know where we were coming from. Her attitude promptly went south. The truth is Bassett has really nice furniture that isnt cheap because it isnt cheaply made. I had the money in my pocket to get anything I wanted but I will never deal with any business that treats me cheaply. I would have most certainly continued to come back for other pieces for my home as I do really like their furniture but my experience today has thrown that into question. As we were leaving I saw her leaning against the counter talking to another salesperson in what seemed like a a conversation about us. Not at all how to earn future business. Customers are not paid to make salespeople happy but salespeople should have the basic understanding that the happiness of potential customers is at the top their employers list.

A bit pricey for what we were looking for. The first time we ventured here, we felt like the salespeople did not give us the time of day. I took this because of the attire I was wearing (out running Saturday errands), but it took us going up to a salesperson to ask for help rather than them coming to us. Did not make me feel like they wanted our business.

I cannot even begin to say how miserable our experience has been (/continues to be), and how disappointed in the product we are. Every single employee - our sales person, design manager, general manager, office manager, finance - has failed to follow through on appointments and promises. 8 months after our initial order, we are now on our third round of botched furniture. The furniture here was solid hardwood from north america, the craftsmanship was done in virginia. This is a good start. However, most of their furniture was venere. The sales people were slow the explain this part. Even the custom furniture was venere. Ask questions even if its pretty!
