Sooooo dang good. Best egg salad I’ve ever eaten best onion rings I’ve had. Fries were on point and the Philly steak was up there as some of the best I’ve had. Found this place by chance and so glad I did. Came in for a quick bite to eat and am very satisfied. After last nights expensive and disappointing dinner at ragazzis in garner this has made up for it and some. Lady taking out order was very friendly and helpful in answering questions. Even let us try the egg salad before ordering. This is one of my new favorite sandwich places in the triangle💙💙

I got the avocado turkey brie panini and i tried really hard to eat it, because I hate wasting food but it was truly nasty. It tasted very salty, fishy, and just generally gross. When I gave up, I opened it up and found the avocado was almost completely brown. These ingredients were definitely not fresh. I’ve had good food from Village Deli before, but this was truly unacceptable for a $12 panini (side of sweet potato fries that came with it were good though!).

This is a place that has been around for awhile. I had the classic sub which one would expect to be the poster child of sandwiches, meh. The meats and cheese was all decent quality but nothing that made my taste buds holler. They gave me white instead of wheat as well. My daughter had the egg salad on a croissant, meh as well. She said the egg salad was too sweet. The STAR of the show was her cup of roasted red pepper and Gouda soup!!! I should have bought a gallon to carry home. The depth of flavor was unexpected and satisfying. The consistency was spot on with bits of roasted red peppers and cheese, heavenly! It would be a shame to learn they dont make it themselves. Ignorance here is my bliss. Big oversight on the COVID front is they their menu is not all on a board but rather menus that are in bins that everyone handles and puts back in the same spot, no cleaning. I looked at the menu online to decide what I wanted. Also they tables werent cleaned regularly and I went on a Saturday about noon. Overall decent cafe/deli, they serve chicken tenders, if you are in the area ok but I wouldnt make it a destination.

Great place for breakfast! I ordered the Supreme breakfast bowl with sausage and it was great! I prefer my food to have a kick. If you do Id recommend adding some Texas Pete which they have available. My wife ordered a traditional breakfast which she enjoyed. 4 out of 5 stars as my wifes grits were very runny. Not sure if that was by design or not.

I have been here several times and usually have a great experience. The food is varied and quite good. Today was no exception. The service however...getting the meal...took a little long...several who ordered after me already had their food. I went to find out and was told they were just behind with the hot food. They were busy to be sure, so Ill write this off as an exception.

This place is hands-down consistently good. And if you don’t eat the chicken salad you will be missing a bite of heaven! I can’t even get out of the parking lot before I have it in my mouth.

This is a staple at Cameron Village. I always get the Avocado Turkey Brie panini with a side of sweet potato fries. An excellent place to grab a tasty meal for a reasonable price. Plenty of seating inside and out.Pro tip: if you order food to-go (they use ChowNow app) you can get 15% offyour next online order. Save that money!

The best Reuben, philly cheese steak, burger, and potato salad in NC IMHO. I look forward to returning and trying something else as I am sure the whole menu is great. Fast and polite service. A great place to go for great food AND great service. Harder and harder to find these days.

Out of this world! Had cup of soup and 1/2 turkey and ham, bacon and cheese with lettuce tomatoe and mayo on toasted sourdough special! So hearty I could only eat half of meal! Best unsweetened tea this side of heaven! I love this place!

This is the best restaurant in town that offers delivery and vegetarian options. Their Tempeh Philly is my go to but I also LOVE the Gorgonzola salad, egg salad sandwich and their fries (both regular and sweet potato) are the best! Also, every time I have had to correspond with them I have spoken to someone super friendly and helpful. Can’t wait for restrictions to lift so I can go check this place out for dine in.

Quality of food isnt as good as it used to be. Also, I was given the wrong entree that I had ordered online. I phoned them and asked for a refund on my credit card, and they werent sure if they could do it.

If you are looking for a hot or cold sandwich, stop by Village Deli and Grill, in Raleigh, NC (Cameron Village area) they have exactly what you are seeking. The food is good and the staff is more than willing to assist anyone with deciding on what option to choose. Awesome experience!

Pretty friendly place to eat at with friendly staff and good food. I wouldn’t go as far to say it’s the best food I’ve ever had, but lies somewhere in the mediocre range. The fish and chicken are good with the fries complimenting them quite well. The only gripe I have regarding this establishment is the price, but given the location it is at least understandable. If you want a nice place to eat with your family for an occasion, then this restaurant is a good choice.

In the past, I have had zero issues with Village Deli. However, today, this was not the case. Apparently, something happened with the customer in front of me with one of the managers and they were in a skiff. A female manager called me next in line so I told her my name for my pick up. She proceeds to throw my bag of food on the counter as if it were nothing to her. Followed by my payment and her throwing the receipt in the bag. I finally called her out on her lack of courtesy and customer service and she says we are busy. My reply was we are all busy. I told her I wanted a refund and tried to apologize. However, it should not take a customer to bring it to your attention that you are being less than friendly at this moment. Busy or not, the fact that customers alike are patronizing your business during a pandemic is fair enough for your to take a split second make eye contact and thank them rather than tossing their meal across the counter as if it is an inconvenience. Furthermore, to attempt to say here you can have this as if the free meal were a gesture (by the way I did not take the food because I did not want it at all at that point, free or not)...it was not about that, if I could not afford it, I would not have ordered it. But, the fact that you just showed me I meant nothing to you as a customer the way you treated me was enough for me to be appalled and disgusted. Highly recommend customer service training for managers so the employees can follow suit.

Great place to grab lunch. My favorite is the turkey sandwich with Vidalia onion dressing. Everything Ive tried is good tho. Great soups and salads as well as hot foods. Staff is polite and restaurant is clean.

The best food in Raleigh, hands down! Every item on the menu is delicious and authentic. No matter what you get, you will enjoy it. Highly recommend the Village Deli and Grill!

Pretty much everything here is the best! So much better than chain delies, but no ridiculous wait either. Its the perfect balance. Also they serve local, organic Larrys Coffee all day long! There is ample seating inside and outside. Best spot in Cameron Village.

This place is super awesome. The food was pretty good, quite a few steps up from a sports bar but it has a sports bar feel. I would love to go to this restaurant outside of Covid times because Im sure it would be a great experience. Their service is super good as well!

The review by L S two weeks ago is total B.S. L S was in front of me in line and I witnessed this encounter she describes. I also was about to intervene and tell this customer that she was being out of line, but thought it would only inflame the situation more. It was unusually busy this day, as it was between 11:45am and noon, and there was a large number of DoorDash orders to go. L S seemed impatient and agitated waiting to be called to the counter while a previous Door Dash customer was giving the cashier a hard time about where and how to pick up his order and why it was not ready yet and asking for an estimate on how long it would take. The manager who then came to that register, not to resolve the DoorDash customer but to help the next person, called for the next person in line. LS came up to pick up her to go order and the manager placed her bag of food on the counter in front of her, she didnt throw it or slam it down. When asked for the receipt, the manager placed it in the bag (as is the case for all bagged orders). Thats when L S when off on her, calling the manager rude and accusing her of being disrespectful and accusing her of slamming the bag down. L S then demanded the receipt be handed to her. The manager apologized promptly, removed the receipt from the bag and handed it to her. L S immediately demanded a refund and NEVER attempted to apologize. The manager issued the refund and handed her the refund receipt. As L S turned to leave, the manager again apologized and offered her the bag of food. L S turned away waving her arms in the air and said I dont want it, then said and Im busy too and stormed out the side door.I have been going to this Village Deli for over 20 years and can tell you unequivocally that the manager and staff at the deli were not rude and in fact went out of their way to make every customer get served promptly, even with a barrage of to-go orders. And as for the impatient Door Dash person ahead of L S, he was so busy on his mobile phone, that when his order was finally called over the loud speaker a few minutes after LS left, he never picked it up because he wasnt paying attention and the manager had to come over and get his attention personally. L S appeared to have a chip on her shoulder and a stick up her a$$. She gave the manager a hard time for no justifiable reason. Theres always one, and L S was the one this day.

Got the Turkey Bacon Club with fries to go, they initially forgot side of fries. Once I opened the sandwich I was disappointed to see that the bread wasn’t toasted. Usually when I order a club sandwich the bread is toasted. Then I look at the sad amount of turkey and bacon in between these 3 pieces of standard white bread along with 4 pieces of Swiss. Looked more like a bagged lunch than a club sandwich. Staff was very friendly & prompt, also the only reason I gave 3 stars

I ordered online for pickup. It told me it would be ready at 4:48 pm. The order was for “Luke”I got here at 4:46 and they told me it wasn’t ready, which was fine. 2 customers came in at 4:50 and ordered and received their food about 5-6 minutes later. (Along with several other orders that came in long after I did). I was still here waiting for my food. All 3 girls at the register were just talking about their personal lives and on their phones and acted like they couldn’t care less. I enjoy the food from here which I why I ordered “to-go” but this experience was ridiculous. I didn’t get my food until 5:16 pm.. 28 minutes after the original time it gave me.I used to work in the food service industry but have never encountered an experience like this before. The lack of caring is horrendous.Also, all of the people behind the counter should be wearing a mask. Especially coming up front from the kitchen area.Edit: after receiving my food 28 minutes later, I went to go eat my fries and they weren’t even remotely warm. After going back in to ask for new fries, the girl at the front counter rolled her eyes upon me asking for new fries. I would not recommend this location to anyone.

Update - My original review still stands, but since Ive recently been diagnosed with a Gluten Allergy this has become one of my favorite places to get a sandwich or burger with a choice of Gluten Free bread. Thank you for giving those with Celiac a great place to eat!Original - I enjoy coming here to eat, the fare is a little different than the usual and the quality is always good. I also like the atmosphere, very comfortable.

First time & will be back! The chili is awesome! I had the chili & tuna melt & my friend had the fish & chips platter. It was HUGE!

The fried green tomato BLT was very good even though the tomato was more pink than green. Ingredients and bread were very fresh.

The natural roast beef sandwich was very bland and lacking. You get a couple decent bites out of the middle but for a majority of the sandwich you’re just getting too much bread (which wasn’t very moist/pleasant to eat) and not enough roast beef. The horseradish sauce was too watery as well.All in all a very sub par sandwich especially for $11+

This was our first time to eat here. We were looking for paninis and typically buy them at the Fresh Market across the street. Fresh Market was out of them so we took a chance at Village Deli. We were told by their service staff that the sandwiches were huge. We ordered to-go and were thoroughly disappointed when we got home and opened the packages. The sandwiches were small, poor quality, and over priced. We joked this reminded us of airport food. The sweet potato fries were dry. The cole slaw had no taste and was also dry. I would not recommend this place and will not return. Afterwards, we read the poor reviews and noted a lot of comments along these lines, we agree with them.

Our business orders from Village nearly every week and have never had a poor experience. Excellent food, high quality, and their manager (Christa?) is always there to ensure things are above and beyond. GREAT spot to eat!

Delicious veggie ciabatta sandwich.

We ordered here because they have vegetarian and vegan options. 4/5 of our orders were wrong. No mustard on one burger. No grilled peppers on another (and we were charged extra for that) wrong chips with another. The tempeh was very good. The bean burgers were terrible. Egg salad was skimpy and bland. I’ve eaten and made bean burgers for over 2 decades and these were the worst I’ve ever had. The seasoning was good, but the taste and consistency was awful. All you taste is bean. It was more like a pudding than a burger or patty.Fries had no salt. They didn’t include the ketchup we asked for. We picked up and had to ask for all the food that wasn’t included and the burgers were wrong. We were very disappointed.

Just had a boxed lunch from here. It was outstanding! I got a tuna salad sandwich with pickles on toasted wheat. It came with chips and a cookie. So yummy!! ☺️

Awesome service of box lunches delivered for our group of 25+. The food was excellent and the presentation of the boxes was top notch. Everything from ordering to delivery was seamless. Highly recommend them if you need to feed a group!

By far one of my favorite lunch spots around NC States campus. Although their menu is a bit pricey, I really enjoy their food and service. Everything is mostly clean and nice. Great casual place for lunch with friends, family or coworkers. Shrimp wrap is one of my favorites! Also their french fries are crispy and delicious!

It was Sunday after church and we were to meet a friend for lunch. Inside was full to capacity and there might have been a couple of tables outside available for us to choose from. I had the spinach salad which was good (you can only do so much with a spinach salad) and onion rings. We enjoyed the Cameron Village ambiance while seated outside in the rare winter sunlight, not too hot or too cold. My husband had the roast beef and gouda melt also with the onion rings. Both of us agreed that the onion rings were the best weve had in the area. Where most rings loose their coating and refuse to break when you bite into them, these were easy to eat and tasted like onion rings should. If you arent familiar with Cameron Village, be prepared to wait for parking and perhaps walk a bit if you dont have the parking karma like my husband does.

Have been coming here for a few years and have never been disappointed! Everything I have tried off the menu has been perfect! My go to is the Mediterranean salad with chicken. The little pieces of corn bread they sell at the front are nothing but squares of heaven! Trust me you will love it here!

Overall was a great experience. Amazing food, amazing service, and an overall great time if you are looking for the best burger and wings bar. Very kid friendly including a fun environment for the young ones while waiting. Just a great family friendly place to eat for both lunch and dinner. Would definitely recommend.

The food is okay and you get it pretty quickly, but its a tad bit on the pricier side. I usually get a Philly Chicken and Cheese, which is okay, but the chicken tastes like it was cooked, frozen, then reheated. Its honestly really off putting at times. There also is never enough cheese in it for my preference, but thats just me. The fries are fantastic and the staff seems to actually care so thats definitely a big plus.

Friendly staff. Ordered the large spinach Salad to go. The portion was very small for the price and they gave me the wrong salad dressing. The salad was good however, would have been better with the right dressing. Would go back again, this time for dine in.

This is a crowd favorite amongst my friends. Ive been tons and tons of times and they never disappoint. They do get insanely busy around lunch (no matter what location you hit), but their sandwiches are go die for. In a city where not too many unique sandwich places exist, Im a fan!

Horrible experience. I ordered fries to go along with my other food Irma. I waited for 15 minutes and was told by multiple staff that the fries were cooking. After 25 minutes the lady tells me she never charged me for the fries and that it would take 10 more minutes to get them, which we couldn’t do because my daughter had to get back to her cheer competition. So she didn’t eat. I am so disappointed by the customer service at this restaurant. Never again!!

Worst place ive gotten food in a long long time. 1st WAY OVER PRICED for the quality and quantity of food you get. Between me and a buddy it was $44 dollars.2nd The pastrami was dry and hardly any meat on the sandwich the egg salad was terrible. The potato salad tasted like it came from walmart premade. His barbecue chicken was bland and really lacking quality and size. Chicken was over cooked. Overall very disappointing. I will never recommend anyone got there. And will encourage others to go elsewhere. Your better off going across the street to wich which. There are many great places in Raleigh to go! Do yourself a favor and go to many other places other than there.

Its hard to find a vegetarian menu that isnt just a boring lettuce based sandwich. They use Tempeh for their vegetarian options, which is an easy substitute. The Rueben is the best one Ive had so far. Onion rings will get you in trouble with how good they are.
