Tim refused to honor my batteries warranty even though it was clearly valid and just told me to call corporate about it. Whats even the point of offering a battery warranty if youre just going to void the warranty when an issue arises. Tim is a crook, and a liar and Id recommend 10/10 take your business elsewhere. If this is how they treat a battery imagine how this shop will treat your car. Dont believe me? Read through all the 1 star reviews the shop actively tries to suppress. Id rate -1 star if I could just to prove a point.
Tim the service writer (I didnt get his last name but Corp will know who he is lol) was super helpful, very friendly and communicated any changes to the pricing that was initially quoted.Work was done pretty quickly... I didnt have to wait very long for my truck to get an oil change and brake job.If you need an oil change or brakes, this is where you should go.**** DEFINITELY GOING BACK ****Its a little out of the way, but definitely worth the drive. Oh and by the way, the bench outside... love it.

Came in for an oil change and didn’t even get somebody to acknowledge me. I waited and waited for the guy at the counter to help me but he and a coworker were laughing and talking together and completely ignored me. When I said hello and made an attempt to start my transaction, he told me to hold on while he finished his VERY IMPORTANT conversation with his coworker. They were talking and laughing about something completely irrelevant in their personal lives. I then said I would take my business elsewhere and they laughed. This was on Saturday 10/23/2021 around 8:20am. If I were the manager of this location, I’d promptly fire these employees. They do not care about their brand, location, or customers. Never coming back to any pep boys because of this experience. Really lame service and business practice.

The manager, Timothy, was GREAT! Helped me with what I needed, added an improvement to what I was looking for and had my car out in half the time that was quoted. Why cant all people work as great as this guy?

The overall experience was very customer friendly. The explanation of the work that needed to be done was explained in detail & so I understood what needed to be done & why.I was pleasantly surprised when the manager offered to call Lyft & split the cost of sending me home to wait while the work was being done & bringing me back when the work was complete.When I came to pick up my vehicle the manager throughly explained what they had done so that I was able to understand what they had done.I would highly recommend this location to anyone.
Theres a gentleman that works here and I mean a real gentleman.. He called an uber for me, thank god it was like 90 degrees that day. :) He had his program down like a fine tuned machine, flawless. There were no added costs or any unforseen issues at very competitive price. These men know how a business should be ran and they do it effortlessly. Unbelievable! Online appointment for 12pm. I was told it should be 2 hours. 2 hours later, NOT even TOUCHED with no indication that anyone was even paying attention! I went to Jiffy Lube down the street. All the services I needed, in and out in 30 minutes!!
Went in just to get my rear brakes done which I already had, and they wanted to add a bunch of other things they felt I needed done which came out to over $2000. Then just to install the brakes I bought already they wanted $800+. When I told them no they tried making me get a tow truck which I declined so they put it back together all sloppy leaving my truck to make all kinds of noises now. Terrible place. Straight con artist!
I don’t know how this shop doesn’t have a 5 star review - I had a great experience. I got a flat tire within an hour of them closing, but called and Ricky reassured me he would do what he could even if It meant staying after closing. He was able to get it fixed in no time and gave me tips on how to prevent this situation in the future. His excellent customer service was clearly not just about doing a good job, it came from being passionate about helping people. It’s cheesy but both my car and I left in a better shape. Thank you!!!

First time coming here instead of Toyota for an oil change. But it was a mistake. Made an appointment on 8/20/20 at 11am for an oil change and was told it would take an hour. It ended up taking two hours and they broke my canister for my oil filter. Then charged me $38 for a new one. At least they gave me 10% off for a military discount. Definitely never coming back here again.
They have a large selection of wash and detailing products at much cheaper prices than amazon.

I had my 2003 Toyota camry stopped at the traffic intersection and had to tow my car to this location. Next day they called me and told they had replaced the battery and the car is good to go. When the technician handed over the keys he told RPM reading is low and i may have to drive for few miles to get the system reset. After travelling for 3 miles car stopped again. I was 0.6 miles away from this store, but they want me to tow it again. I expect them to at least do a test drive to make sure everything is fine instead of saying everything is good to pickup the car. Now they want me to pay 90$ more to diagnose and find the issue further after i paid 200$ on the first repair. This is insane. Please stop looting the customers. Try to investigate properly the first time and give an estimate. I would never recommend anyone to go this store. They are not fully qualified. I even spoke with their manager and he could be of no help.

They dont listen. If you care about your car, dont bring it here. I specifically told them to not use an impact gun on my lug nuts because they are aluminum and powder coated. I use a torque wrench instead to keep them looking like new. They used an impact regardless of what I said and now my lug nuts are messed up because some tech thought he knew better. I hope your corporate sees this

I purchased a vehicle and at that time I also bought the Pep Boys maintenance plan. I brought my vehicle into this location two days ago for the first oil change on the plan. Was told that whomever did the last oil change (I have no way of knowing who) put the plug in incorrectly and now I would need a whole new oil pan (about $600!!). I said no and brought it to MY mechanic (Steves Small Car Repair in Orangevale, CA). I did NOT need a new oil pan; only a new PLUG ($30!!!). The lady before me was told that she had to replace ALL of her tires at once because she had an all-wheel-drive vehicle, and if she wouldnt do all four they couldnt help her. All because of a slow leak in ONE TIRE. I regret buying the PB maintenance plan, because now I will NEVER get to use it. I do not trust these people as they are CLEARLY trying to defraud and take advantage of women. Pep Boys will NEVER touch a vehicle I own EVER again.
Id needed just a replacement headlight. It was a busy Sunday and they were short staffed that day with their mechanics out on lunch breaks. The head mechanic/register guy was very helpful and rather than asking me to wait in order of cars (for hours), he changed the bulb himself; and even showed me the how Toms about doing it. Thanks!

They suck I had a flat tire and was on my spare (donut) and Im on a WALKING CANE I ask could I get a tire put on she said there was no one thereSo I ask could I but a tire she said yes she told me the price which was fine she came out looked at the tire to get the size. Long story short She need more customer service training soon you all are going to lose a lot of business with employees like that. And thats what can make or break a company. I wont be returning.

Jessica was very helpful. I was having problems with the service contract that I have. The company did not want to cover maintenance that is covered in my service contract and Jessica spoke with the correct people to ensure they covered the services.
Had my tire fixed here in the past. Pretty good price overall. Although the time I had a brake job they found a bunch of stuff that was wrong with it that needed to be fixed on top of that. Although I refused to have the other problems fixed they said they couldnt just do the brake job without addressing the other issues. Went from being a $300 - $1300 job.
After multiple trips to car dealerships and auto shops for regular maintenance, problems were stemming due to negligence in quality of service. NO ONE enjoys having their morning haunted due to a dead battery. This happened, I had to have my car towed and it was taken to this Pep Boys location in Rancho Cordova. They installed the battery before asking which one I wanted then said it was too late to change it now - and of course, it was the MOST expensive on the shelf. The FOLLOWING week, my car was showing low voltage, my car stalled then stopped at Madison and Hazel. I watched the voltage and it continued to fluctuate from 12.5 to 14.0. The week after that, it would stall and stop to where I gave up and took it back to discuss this with someone. The tech had left my terminals and battery cables FILTHY, and the lady was trying to convince me they were clean. She continued to be very rude and unhelpful so I took my car to the Buick dealership where they confirmed all of the issues that Pep Boys denied. Dont go here, pay the extra money to go to the dealership.

Employees here are very kind and approachable. The store is clean and you can find most of the stuff you are looking for. If you are just browsing, check the clearance section at the right of the store to the middle of the isle. What I did find strange is that the store door is not facing Folsom boulevard.
Their rebate offer is a scam. Our rebate debit card was decline for no reason so we just walked out without purchasing their product. The expiration date was still effective until and through the month of April 2019. Never stepping foot in there again.
Took my Ford Ranger in to have the clutch changed. Dropped off on Wednesday & rented car. Friday I call for a status & they tell me they are working on it and it will be finished by evening. I go in the following morning after returning car rental. They never even did an initial evaluation; costing me 3 days of rental for nothing. Telling me what they thought I wanted to hear, and NOT keeping it real. Their mechanic pulled a shoulder tendon. They said he could start working on it in a week. A shoulder tendon requires 6 weeks to heal. Again just telling me what they think I want to hear, and NOT providing reliable information nor service.guidepost.us

Weve been coming here previously mainly because it was convenient (we live super close by) however each time the service gets worse and worse. First and foremost, it takes literally ALL DAY for an oil change if you drop off (or based on reviews if you stay for it as well). We have dropped off at opening many times in the past, to not receive a call until closing for pick up.Secondly, the customer service has generally been mediocre at best. However, today while attempting to schedule an oil change online the system kept getting weird. So I called and spoke with someone and was told they had no availability tomorrow, in fact would be booked until next week, and I could barely get an okay out before I was bombarded with an, Okay, have a good day. Then the phone was hung up.Im not one to normally leave poor reviews, but I was absolutely appalled at how I was treated today over the phone. Unfortunately convenience isnt always key I suppose, and theyve just now lost a few customers (we have multiple vehicles).I recommend retraining for this store because it severely lacks customer service and urgency needed to actually get the work done in a timely manner.

My check engine light came on, so I wanted to find out whats wrong with it. I called the Rancho location and asked if they do diagnostics. She said they do, and I told them I need it because the light came on. She says I can run it, and give you the code. But I cant tell you whats wrong with it. I can just give you the code. How does that help me?
They are awesome I get off work after they would take cars to work on and they made time to fit my truck in for an oil change. Im very thankful for their consideration of my schedule and their kindness to fit me in.

Dont schedule online. System doesnt know what appointments are already booked so youll basically get screwed if you plan around the planned time. Wasted my time and gas coming all the way out here, dont have time to wait 2 hours. Especially since I scheduled an appointment trusting their system... could have planned to go somewhere else if I had known.
I went in at noon on a busy Saturday to replace a brake light. I purchased the bulb and asked if they could install it for me. They were very accomidating and I had only a 15 minute wait. They did not charge me for replacing it. I would recommend Pep Boys for your car needs.

Made an appointment via their online schedule and was called the day before to ask if waiting a few hours for my scheduled appointment was OK. The last time I went there, I waited for 2.5 hours for an oil change. Why make an appointment if they cant keep the appointment. Come on guys its not that difficult to schedule appointments based on the staff you have. Will take my business to some place that can make and keep an appointment.
They pretty much have everything that you need for your car right there and good customer service. They actually will assist you in helping you find what you need.
June 25th, my friend and i went to Pep Boys in Rancho Codova, CA. to get her passages window fix. If would not come up. We were told it was the dorman window reg with motor. That it would cost $545.00 to remove and replace the window regulator (per the receipt given to us). My friend declined, and informed them, that she would go and get a 2nd opinion and go to the car dealership to get it fix. Jessica at Pep Boys, informed us, that Pep Boys prices are better, and cheaper than the Dealership. My friend called her insurance provider. They told her to go to Safelite, we did, and was informed that it was the SWITCH, and not the MOTOR. The cost was $142.42 for safelite to order the switch, and fix the car. That is a $402.58 difference. We went back to Pep Boys today to complained. That the mechanic did not need to touch anything, but the window. My friend wanted her money back. The mechanic checked their system and saw that for her car needs to be maintaining, due to the fact her car is over 90,000 miles. We knew that. All that was needed was for the window to be fix. My friend paid $44.99 that she wanted back. Spoke to James today, the Mgr. he informed her that Pep Boys prices are about the same as the dealer, and Safelite is cheaper because all they do are windows. He was informed that was ALL she want him to touch. The part was $84.00, the labor was $50.00. After taxs, the price was $142.42. I understand other Company may price differently. But a $402.58 difference, i dont think so. As a matter of fact, the mechanic needs to go back to school. My friend is reporting Pep Boys to the BBB, and the Bureau of Automotive Repair.

I took my car in here to get an alignment and new tires. Within a couple of months my car fell out of alignment and I never hit anything or got into an accident and my tires were 75% worn out on the edges and I went back in there and they tried to charge me for the new tires and alignment until I threw an absolute fit because none of this would have happened if they would have done the job right in the first place. Then I get a nail in my tire and they try to charge me 20 dollars to get it fixed and a wait time of 2 hours for a 5 minute job. Any other tire place would fix the flat no questions asked if you bought the tires from them. This company is a joke, way over priced, and a scam. Take your money elsewhere or be prepared for multiple headaches along the way.

The worse customer service I have ever had anywhere. I was simply calling for a price on a part. I was put on hold, then they hung up on me. I called back 2 more times. Only to hear a click, and dial tone. Very upset. The 1 star rating was only so I could post this, if there was a negative star I would have chose that.
I had a blinker light out. They had me in and out on no time.
So I tried scheduling a same day oil change but the phones were busy for over an hour. I then decided to schedule the appointment for an oil change online. My appointment was for 10 A.M. My husband dropped the car off and he was told that it would be ready by 12 P.M. that day. Their phone lines were messed up so thats why there was a busy signal when I called. 2 hours for an oil changed seemed a bit long, but they looked busy. I was told Id get a call when the car was ready for pickup. Well 3 P.M. came around I called again and remembered their phone wasnt working, so I decided to walk there being that it is just around the corner from my home. Well I got there and my car hadnt moved from its original parking spot. I asked the attendant if my car was ready? He said that they hadnt got to it YET! Then he gave me the excuse that one of their techs had called in sick! Okay what does that have to do with my oil change? My mother in law who works in an auto shop says that excuse basically means they forgot about my car! There were 3 techs that I saw, and two of the them where just sitting around when I walked by the bays! So he told me that theyd put a tech on it immediately and that my husband requested them to check my transmission fluid as well, so it would take another 25-35 min. So I walked back home and 1 hour later received a call saying that my transmission needed a flush and quoted me $128 for that. Then I was also told that my rear window brake light, and rear license plate light were both out. I told them that I just want the oil change. Well my husband had a talk with the manager about the HORRIBLE service and was given a 10% discount on the oil change which was $45. When we got home my husband said that both lights were working fine. Wow! Then I got a quote from Roseville Mitsubishi for the transmission flush for $112. So all in all, this place will try to swindle you! Better off going to a dealership.
I know it is partially my fault for rolling in at 45min till close. But all I needed was a shop with tools and possibly belts to either tighten or replace a bad belt. It was squeeking and the fan was slipping so the engine wasnt staying cool. I wasnt sure if I could make it home, hence why I stopped there.Nobody else there, everyone was outside smoking.I explained my simple belt explanation.The person explained that the belt guy wouldnt be in till two days later.If there was an auto shop equivalent to the ice cream machine is broken, that had to be it.So instead of relying on the only shop open after 7, I went to AutoZone, bought the tools n belt, did it myself there in the parking lot. I became the belt guy in about 20 minutes, and made it home.If the shop is as half assed at everything else, Id not trust them with much more than a bicycle.
They were wonderful. I got a discount and a rebate that was prefect. I cant figure out why my brakes are still squeaky.

I needed new tires for my F150 and since this is my third purchase for tires for my carsand trucks, i of course went back to the Rancho store. I called late last Monday to check on the tires i wanted and to setup an appointment. I work, so needed the work done on a Saturday. The lady i spoke with said that they could not get the Cooper A/Ts i wanted in my trucks stock size. So we worked together and came up with a size bigger. She was really friendly and helpful and said the tires will be ordered and ready for me. She also let me know that the Saturday i wanted would be crazy busy. So i asked, since i was taking that Wednesday of for other appointments, do you have an openings on Wed? She replied yes, If you can leave it here for most of the day and come in first thing. Of course i said yes. When i arrived, i was greeted by the BEST Service Manager - Ken Creitz, who has gone above and beyond for me in the past. We caught up on old times, Yes people he remembered me, and he told me that the tires i wanted were not a good fit for my truck. I was thinking great, now what do i do. Ken explained that this other style of Cooper A/Ts, would last longer and would work perfectly for my truck and that he had a set in stock. After his honest opinion, i said lets do it and said i can leave it hear all day if need be. Being the rockstar Ken is, he said, i will get you in first thing and an hour + later, i was driving away in the best looking Cooper A/Ts that will last longer than the 50,000 mile warranty, because they are Coopers people, and i am also getting an extra 1.8mpg. This is all because of the honest and hard work of the team that is the Rancho Pepboys. This is a must service center to go to because of people like Ken and my man Tam, who took care of my truck, did a fast professional job and both went above and beyond any level of customer service out there. I will be back. Thanks!
I went in here because my coolant was leaking and oil. They diagnosed the problem and because it was late brought my car out to me to the drive way to pick it up. I asked the mechanic, how is the oil and coolant? He said, it is leaking from........ I asked the mechanic how much oil and coolant my vehicle had. He said the oil is below minimum and the coolant is very low. I said well arent you going to put oil in it, he said, you got oil? Wow charge me for it!!! Your going to let me drive off with no oil and coolant in my car with a leak in both areas!!!!!!!!!!!! Most terrible service ever. I definitely will not be bringing my car back there to get the work done. The mechanics will put no oil in your car and expect you to drive off like that. Ridiculous! Dont take your car here unless you want to risk driving out of there with more problems, no oil or coolant in your car. This is my first complaint on google and I had to say something before it happens to someone else. Also Pepboys DOESNT DO EVERYTHING FOR LESS!!!!!! Try more expensive?????!!!!!!!!????

Very good all in one auto store that has any part you might need, full service repair and tire shop, and noe even a Lyft Hertz combo service where drivers can pick up a car to use for the week. Sale priced items are often good deals, and they also have a points program.
