NO WONDER THESE GUYS ARE AT 5 STARS. I HAD MY GEARS DONE THERE ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO. MY AXLE SEALS STARTED TO LEAK RECENTLY. I CALLED AND HE QUOTED ME $300 TO FIX IT AND LOOK AT MY REAR LOCKER THAT WASNT ENGAGING. I THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD DEAL BASED ON THE LABOR INVOLVED. WHEN THEY WERE DONE, I WENT TO PAY AND HE WOULDNT ACCEPT. HE SAID HE WAS GOING TO WARRANTY IT SINCE HE HAD DONE THE GEARS. THIS WAS 2 YEARS AGO ON AN OFFROAD JEEP THAT GETS USED AND ABUSED AND HERE THEY ARE COVERING A WEARABLE PART. GREAT EXAMPLE ON HOW TO TAKE CARE OF A CUSTOMER.

Its been a while since Ive used River City differential I moved out of state but I know one thing Sean is a top-notch mechanic and hes been in business a long time Im getting ready to have him do some work on my new Jeep that Ive gotten anyway thats the way I feel about him I highly highly recommend him to anyone for differential transfer case work all that stuff

So, Sean here is an awesome Dude! Got me in n out in a day as promised. Did great work! I had him re gear my truck with all new seals and bearing plus a Eaton Detroit TruTrac which works so great! Definitely recommend this shop for all your gear and axle work!

RCD is a great place, Ive had them work on my jeeps 8.25 rear differential installing an OX locker and I plan on bringing them more work in the near future. It was installed correctly and worked perfectly from the get-go and was very reasonably priced. I scrutinize any work done on my vehicles carefully, and I couldnt find a fault, which is exactly what you want.Its a single owner/proprietor business and he has a lot of work which means he doesnt have an answering service, so expect less than immediate customer service. Sometimes, you just have to call back another day because hes either too busy or just not in the office. But your patience will be rewarded. Not that I have a lot of differential work done, but when I do this is my go-to differential shop.

River City Differentials is the best differential shop in the Sacramento area. Sean, the owner is a very knowledgeable and skilled mechanic, his work is top notch. I’ve had Sean at RCD put 3.73 gears in my 2006 Silverado with an upgraded limited slip unit and stronger axles to handle the horsepower gains from turbocharging the engine. I recently took my 2020 Tacoma to RCD to have 4.88 gears installed in the front and rear differentials, and a Detroit TrueTrac limited slip unit added to the rear diff as well.

RCD and Sean is the place to go for any differential work. I brought in my rear differential which needed To be re geared and he told me one of the axle shafts Was bent. He told me exactly by how much. So I came back was another axle that wasnt bent and he quickly and efficiently installed gears for my front and rear. I would highly recommend him and would send any of my friends or family that need Differential work to him

Sean is a miracle worker. He has 20+ years of experience and his work clearly shows it. I needed my jeep tj regeared after getting a new rear axle. Sean was friendly and easy to talk to. After I got my parts, I scheduled and dropped off my jeep. Couple hours later he told me Im ready to pick it up. Now I have taken the jeep to hell hole trail and it survived without a hiccup. Sean definitely provides great work at a great price.

Before finding this treasure I was told by my mechanic A, who had just changed management, things that did not make any sense. Price that was quoted by that that mechanic A was not clear and misleading. Then I called another mechanic B in the area I could trust and off the bat they told me to go to some guy in Gold River so I googled it and it was Sean, at River City differential. Got out of the shop with only 2/15 of the price I was quoted at the other place, mechanic A. This guy is a surgeon in the area of rear differentials. I left happy and my bank account is still intact. Shop owner is super cool and laid back. Dont judge a book by its cover. His shop is small but he does superb work. Charges the cheapest out of all differential shops!! Finished in about a day. If u need your gear/diff work come here. But make sure to call to make an apt so u dont get turned around like me because it was too late in the day lol.

Found Sean 5 years ago for a differential rebuild, have brought my business back to the differential guru every time. Why shop around if you have the best price and are seeing a true expert. I have worked in auto repair for 24 years own my own shop for 8 years, and I do most everything but I dont rebuild transmissions theres a guy for that and this is the guy for differentials!

He rebuilt a differential on my 1 ton GMC van for less money than anyone else quoted me. He even threw in some good used parts at no charge. After over 6 months of operation the differential is working flawlessly. I would highly recommend River City Differentials to everyone!

Thank you for fixing my rear end right! Its so hard finding good mechanics out there, this is one of them.

I was taking my kids to school and the rear end in my truck started jumping. I call several places and was told the entire rear end needed replaced and was quoted up to $1,800.00. I ended up calling river city and sean told me that it sounded like the spider gears and that they could be repaired. After his inspection he found that it was infact the spider gears and that he could repair it and the cost would be roughly a 1/4 of what i was quoted from others. He gave me 3 different options for repair before he got started.He had my truck repaired in less than 3 hours and the final price was almost half of what he quoted me. he was so nice to have an honest mechanic work on my truck. thank you sean you are now my mechanic for life.
