This place has gotten awkward.I used to love coming here, they were always friendly and excited to have me in the store, I would show them my acquisitions from around the world, stuff they had never seen before. Now it is a bizarre experience, dark and drab. I felt like they expected me to steal from them. Won’t be back anytime soon.

Really bizarre experience with this shop. Looking to spend some money on silver as a gift for my friend but I also wanted to look around and see what else they might have. Maybe I would find something more special.First, had to ring a bell to get the attendant attention, then was pretty roughly asked what I wanted. I say, Im looking to buy silver. She let me in the door and then I come to a counter, I asked Oh is the shop through there? She said, Nope this is it. Theres only two of us here so this is it what are you looking for? I said, OK how much are you selling silver eagles for? She gave me the price for eagles and rounds. I said, Well I kinda like to browse too, is the shop not open? She repeated that there were only two of them there. I said, Well theres only one of me but if you dont want me to come in, I guess Ill go.Weirdest experience ever. She literally would not let me into the actual shop. I dont understand how that is good for business or how a business can benefit from not allowing customers to see their inventory. I will take my business to Bellevue Rare Coins or ANYWHERE other than this place.

Ive also heard from a coin buying customer that Renton Coin Shop has poor customer service and can be rude. What I dont understand is ... Why doesnt someone confront them about it. AND ... Why are they so grumpy?! Coins are fun .... Not like theyre selling funeral tickets! haha. Sounds like SEATTLE COIN SHOP is the better place to go? And also BELLEVUE RARE COINS !!!

Wife and I visited to add some tools to our newfound fledgling hobby of gold panning. Gentleman (owner?) was attentive yet not pestering, and was happy to share knowledge and answer questions directly to either my wife or me. He would suggest products, but I never felt like I was being pushed to buy. He also suggested I check out some online prospecting groups to learn more. Prices were right in line with what Id seen online. Overall, very pleasant experience and will definitely be going back.

I have been dealing with the coin shop for about 10 years. I have only had one bad experience with one employee and I think he was just having a bad day.All the employees are helpful and answer so many questions that you leave a little more informed. I cant answer for why others have had a bad experience there maybe not the employees but the customers are hard to deal with and asking for more than what there coins are worth. Ill keep going back always get a good deal there.

Very bad service. My dad wanted to check some coins he had and they did not even want to look at them. Why have a coin shop if you dont even want to look at the coins people bring you?

I absolutely recommend Renton rare coins. I mistakenly sold them a small coin collection that belonged to a relative and not me. I explained things and they were happy to help get it back to me no charge. I just paid them back what they paid me for it. Theyre very knowledgeable and HONEST!

This is my favorite coin shop. I have been a regular here in the past 8 months or so putting together a bad ass Lincoln cent collection. The staff here have gotten to know me, my kids, and my girlfriend, who is African American, and she just wants to come back. Whats not to like? They will help you make money while they make money. give them a try.

The people working here are very knowledgeable about what they have in their store . i found them to be extremely helpful and honest while explaining things to me. Highly recommend to anyone!!!

Very poor customer service especially when there are no other customers except one scouting out the joint. They are not buying and wont be interested in anything a small time collector might have. They just ignored me and would rather hide out or read a magazine behind the counter. So I gathered my things and left.

I used to like Renton Coin Shop but am editing my review in light of recent TERRIBLE customer service. My dad, brother and I have collectively spent well over $10,000 at this business over the last few years.I will never do business here again.If you need silver or gold, go to a reputable dealer that has better customer relations skills like Bellevue Rare Coin.

They are not racist and they will help anyone of any nationality and color they have been in business for a very long time and family ran owner is awesome and I would recommend this coin shop to anybody selling or buying precious metals or precious stones they are very honest on value and payouts on your goods and very aware of prices changing day by day in market values I will always go to them .

Employees need to learn to be a little more nicer and not profile minoritys. Just because youre a person of color doesnt mean youre a thug. Understand Renton is a crummy place to begin with but not everyone is a criminal. Horrible experience.
