I love Dr Woods. She is very good at what she does and for me as a very selective patient that’s a big deal. Friendly, caring with a personality that is infectious and very easily engaged with her patient.

The difference between a good business and A GREAT business, is the people who work there. I can honestly say that no one has EVER worked harder than Laura at the Electric Rd location, on my behalf to make sure I had what I needed... You should have your eye exams and buy your glasses here.

I have been going to another office for years, but decided to try Kartesz Family Eye Care. It was so easy to make an appointment, everyone was really friendly and the doctor I saw was great. I saw Dr Giusto. I had a lot of questions and he took the time to answer them all. When we were checking in (me and my 2 kids) there was someone in front of us complaining because they had to wear a mask. I would like to say thank you so the office for being firm on the mask policy in a health care facility. Have children that are still not vaccinated I appreciate their office looking after the health and safety of ALL their patients. Even if it means some people may be unhappy. I will be coming back every year. thanks again

Myself and son saw Dr. Giusto at the Roanoke office. We were very please with our experience. Dr. Giusto took time to explain different contact lens options to me and was very efficient. I am glad we switched from our previous eye doctors to Kartesz Eye Care.

This was the best experience I have ever had getting an eye exam and prescription eyeglasses. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly and the eye exam from Dr. Kartesz and fitting of my eyeglasses by Laura completely exceeded my expectations.

The staff and Dr’s are all very knowledgeable and up to date on insurance information and styles. Very welcoming each time I go there. Kartesz Family Eye Care is by far the Best place to go for all your eye care needs. Wouldn’t trust anyone else with my eyes.

I had to fill out a questionnaire, wear a mask, and have my temperature taken, yet an older lady behind the counter was not wearing a mask at all the whole time I was there. It wasnt that she had one and it wasnt pulled up, she just didnt have one. A few other staffers came in without masks covering their mouths, but at least they immediately put one on. Most of the staff is nice, but this makes me reconsider coming here and Im going to explore options after many years of patronage. Also, they were absolutely blasting pop-country music in the main check in area, kind of an aggressive stance if, like many people, you arent a fan. I just need a safe exam, not a anti-mask honky-tonk hoedown.

Very in depth eye exam.Did several tests on eyes.Test results were compared to last year and explained clearly.Macular Degeneration was same as last year.That was good news.Vision in left eye will never improve.It was good to get new glasses RX.Also good to learn about the correct eye vitamins to buy with Alred 2 .Thanks, Jeanne Duddy

Find an ethical optometrist elsewhere!I have been a patient of this and the prior owner Dr Rappaport, since the early 1960s. I have always been pleased, but a recent experience has ruined that long time relationship. In fall of 2018 I went in for an exam and to order new glasses & frames. I gave them my vision care insurance card, had the exam, ordered new lenses & frames and discussed the cost. I was given a sheet with what my portion of the bill would be. I paid that, got my glasses in a week or so and was happy.Almost a year later I received a bill for an additional $155. The office manager said that the Dr had filed it with Medicare, not my vision insurance. I was not told that they were not filing it with my insurance company or that I was expected to pay more than the agreed upon price. I said that was not my problem if they misfiled it. I called my insurance company to discuss it. They said I should not have to pay that since the optometrist office misfiled it. I contacted the Drs office again and relayed what the insurance company had told me. The office manager said she would talk to the Dr about it. I heard nothing for about 4 months when I received another bill for the same amount. I called back. The office manager said Dr Kartesz would call me the first of the next week. Instead another employee called to say they would not reverse the charges. She would not allow me to talk to the Dr.This has been a wholly unsatisfactory mishandling of a loyal client.I will pay the bill, but I strongly advise others to seek vision care somewhere that has an ethical relationship with their patients.If you use them, you will not be able to trust the bill they give you. You may end up owing more than you are told and you may not even know it for a year!

Excellent experience. Dr. Kartesz is is always a step ahead and willing to explore the best options for me. We have tried different types of contact lenses to find the right match for me. The front staff is friendly and take care of my insurance and scheduling efficiently.

Dr. Kartesz is wonderful! He made me feel comfortable talking to him from the moment he walked into the room and took his time with my eye exam. Every person I got the chance to meet from his staff was wonderful! Definitely excited to have found a great eye care professional. :)

This has got to be the BEST place ever! Right from the beginning I came in everyone was so friendly and nice. The Dr.Kartez is also very nice and went over everything with me. He actually sat down and explained everything to me. I will Definitely recommend everyone to this place. Also the nurses are so sweet and helped me pick out the perfect glasses. prices are good also.

If NO STAR was an option Id go for that! Extremely disappointed in this place. I understand policies are created for a reason; however, I feel that cases should also be looked at individual. DO NOT use Rocky Mount Family Eye Care or Kartesz Eye Care on Electric Rd. and at Valley View for children! A few months back I order glasses for my 2 year old. They didnt have any frames in his size for him to try on, but putting my trust in Ashley I went ahead and ordered the glasses. Because I expressed my concerns about not being able try them on she told me that they couldnt do anything for me on the lenses because they were prescriptions, but they would work with me on the frames. Well the time came and they do not fit and guess what they now want to throw the whole policy deal in my face. I paid $150 total for the frames and glasses, pennies to them I know because Dr. only works 1 day a week. Thats OK Dr. Kartesz. Way to show how you feel about custom service. You wont get my business or anyone else I talk to, but you dont need that.

By far the best eye exam I ever had. The employees were amazingly helpful and nice and were able to accommodate all of my needs. Dr. Stewart was very knowledgeable and had great bed side manners.

After my eye exam I was getting ready to choose my glasses the woman that was helping me very loudly said I didnt have any insurance how would you like to pay for this.I politely told her theres a mistake can you please double check because I do have insurance. after about 5 minutes they look further into it and they see it was a mistake on their part. overall the rest of the people were nice I just didnt have a good experience on my first day.

Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. I have been seeing Dr. Allen for years and she is so knowledgeable and caring of my situation. She is a professional but makes you feel so comfortable and explains what is going on each time you visit. Had a wonderful experience with the 419 office.

I have high anxiety when it comes to choosing new doctors in a new town. However, Dr. Kartesz and his team immediately put my mind to ease. It was easy to open up to Dr. Kartesz about concerns I was having with my vision. He was able to quickly assess the problem while providing easy to follow steps for minimizing future incidents. Went to a new eye doctor on Friday and he confirmed what I believed happened last time I saw Dr Kartesz. I saw Dr Kartesz in Sep 2010 and purchased new eyeglasses. My vision was fine but went for routine exam in Sep 2012. I somehow felt like my responses were being prompted during exam. He told me my prescription had changed and I needed new eyeglasses. I was shocked because I was not having problems with prescription I was wearing but felt pressured and ordered new glasses anyway. Optician told me it does not damage eyes to wear eyeglasses not per prescription. Experience made me not want to even see an eye doctor again until this past week. I have been wearing the eyeglasses from 2010 for past couple of years but took glasses from 2010 and 2012 with me to exam. And guess what!!! Dr said my exam showed my prescription is nearly identical to 2010 exam.and that the 2012 eyeglasses were way too strong. I would not even give 1 star except not possible to activate post option without marking stars

Made an appointment early in the day to avoid schedule collision, however I had to wait for two and a half hours and missed a very important obligation. Staff are nice to you until you tell them you don’t want what they’re trying to upsell to you, then they’re cold. The staff must make some kind of a commission on glasses, because after picking out what I liked, I was told they didn’t look right & that they would have to be adjusted. (The glasses get adjusted to your face anyway, and I knew this 😂) the staff pressures you to pick out what’s “stylish” when I made it clear all I wanted was what was affordable, (the woman picked out about 25 nearly identical name brand glasses that looked nothing what I picked out in the affordable option) I was treated with a short attitude. This wasn’t the first time this had happened to me either! Will NEVER be returning!!!!!

I was heading out of town for a conference today. I had an eye emergency that threatened to ruin my trip. I called Dr. Kartesz and he arranged for Dr. Stewart to see me. She got the pain under control, ensured no foreign body remained, proper meds for healing, and I made my flight. The staff at Kartesz Family Eye Care is first class. Always efficient, upbeat, competent, and make you feel good just being in their presence. I have had much medical care experience in my life so I know the value of this practice. I have had 10 years with Dr. Kartesz and team, the excellence in care has been flawless.

Dr Kartesz has assembled an amazing team around this practice. On time appts.... staff well trained...they will answer any question or concern with caring and compassion. Very disappointed. Had insurance but still got very over charged. They missed up my biafocal s glasses. They were blurry and high glare. I ended up going back to just distance only to resolve this. . And they still charged me same. Next time I will take my business to American Best or Walmart. Wont get rob again

My experience is too much like their recent BBB complaints and other recent negative reviews. Delivered glasses that had been made incorrectly and, after trying repeatedly to get me to accept them and go away, blamed me for having insurance that required them to use the lab that made the mistake. After unsuccessful mediation with my credit card company, I received a chargeback and Kartesz sent a collections agency after me for a pair of defective glasses that three months later they still had not repaired. They kept the insurance payment for an item that includes frames they said were from inventory and would be restocked -- continually invoking their no returns policy for something they have never provided. I have further recourse to claw back my insurance benefits, but Ive spent enough time with this. Unethical to the extreme. I mean, how does a small office with limited hours have 140 reviews? If theyll lie to me, my insurance, and Google, theyll lie to you.

I went to the office on Electric Rd.Very disappointed with this office. Dr rushes through appt. This actually caused for me to be given the wrong prescriptions. Had to go back to have the examine again. The quality of the lenses are poor. After 1st appt I paid in full what was owed for everything. When I came back for 2nd examine due to their mistake they said they found where someone overlooked $60 and demanded that I had to pay it. Having a small business of my own I would never do this to a customer. And all the 5 star reviews with no comments are from friends and family members. I know how that works.It comes down to - do not trust this place.

Dr. Hosman saw me today for an eye infection, I was able to get right in and they took my insurance so it was easy to get the care I needed.
