Art Pros need solid advice to do amazing work people will enjoy for decades. I found Mike Lesczinski and his Team Members very knowledgeable for some tricky art questions Ive had. For example, I was doing signage that would be exposed to tough four seasons weather. Mike guided me to an industrial enamel paint that worked like a charm.I also draw live caricatures. Let me show you one made with their art media. The couple who I drew LOVED IT!I read, Expensive! on a handful of past comments. Well... Maybe they are just a tiny bit more than a big box store. But they have staff that are my art friends. So our payments are helping someone work in the Arts and pay their bills. Brilliant selection, friendly staff, great prices, and they really know what theyre talking about. I never feel dumb or silly or like theyre annoyed when I ask them questions. On the contrary, the folks Ive engaged have all been extremely warm and informative, gladly sharing what they know to help me find the tools that will help me bring my art to life. They make it very easy to support local. The staff was friendly and answered any questions I had thoroughly and checked in to see if I need help finding anything without being obtrusive. Having options for online ordering, shipping, and also curbside pickup as options is a major bonus as well. I dont think theres anything I havent been able to find there thus far.

This is my favorite art supply store ever. Creaky hard wood floors, nooks and crannies all over filled with art supplies. So much to look at and buy. Employees extremely nice and knowledgeable. The decorative paper department has all sorts of papers from all over the world. Lots of handmade papers. Luscious colors. All kinds of paints in so many different colors. I could just go on and on about this place. I live in Syracuse, NY and worth the 45 minute drive to Rochester.

This place is full of great art supplies. They have an increadable variety, especially for a smaller space. I go there for the handmade paper. They have an entire section in the back with shelves up to the ceiling. They have samples in binders and you could spend hours there.

Knowledgeable staff. Was able to find exactly what we needed by simply walking in the door. The staff actually had the product behind the counter because we had called previously to inquire about it and they had put it behind the counter for reference. Then, since we wanted more of the same, the staff went and got it for us.Would have been better if it was a little easier accessible (had to rely on Google Maps to find the place). No on-site parking...had to park on the street and use a parking meter for a 2 minute transaction, instead of a customer parking lot.

This is a one of a kind shop with a one of a kind staff. You can find almost any fine art product in existence and if you cant, someone will put their head together with you to figure out the work around.

Well, Amazon did not have the acrylic ink we needed to do a run of posters for a friend on short notice, but this local place did. Great selection, high quality products (I was impressed they carry permaset), and their prices were fairly close to online ones (it did not seem like they were price gouging. $1 more per container of ink seems fair given they have a storefront and employees and overhead).Will definitely be back, and definitely recommend.

Used to go with my Dad for his supplies, he was a sign painter, that loved doing gold leaf work for business owners. I brought my 20 year old daughter here for some art supplies in October on a visit home and I love the old wood floor, never change the key links to your history, please! You do usually pay for said quality, but even still prices arent usually marked far beyond the actual worth of the brand. Fantastic selection ranging from Notebooks to any art supply you could think of. Staff is super knowledgeable and friendly. Went in for a way to tint metallic paint and was shown several options I didnt know existed. Have been back several times for different projects and will continue to.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! There are hidden gems stacked here and there and the store is made to be explored. Some might call it cramped, I call it comfortable!On the off chance they dont have something Mike usually swoops down from the rafters and either has it in his hand or can get it!Parking is free on the weekends and there are usually spots on the side street.

Awesome store, really. Impressive selection and everything is well laid out. But the people can always ruin it. Getting an order wrong over the phone is one thing. Making us wait for an hour to find a suitable replacement and cash out is another. Big Mama up front wasnt having any part of making sure we could just buy stuff and leave. She was much more interested in having a long, slow conversation with someone else about nothing art related. Excuse me, dont you want our money? Isnt that the point? Inexcusable.

My son is just starting on a portfolio for architecture school. The ladies there gave him good advice, and were more than willing to share and give tips. The store was almost overwhelming with the selection, but the ladies quickly stared us to the most helpful selection. Highly recommended

Rochester Art Supply has been providing me with stretcher bars and other art supplies for many years, mostly via online, and turned this nobody-knows-who into (somewhat of) an artist. Im no Picasso, although I am a derivative painter of Van Gogh, Afrimov, and many others, Rochester is the best with acrylic paints and Rembrandt stretcher bars, canvases and whatever else fits your style. I might be one of the few painters who does not use an easel, and often I paint straight out of the tube. Very good supply store, and Im glad they are around--buy with confidence. I know I have a lot to learn about perspective, and tone, and technique and all, but at least I have the best supplies by Rochester, Fine Art Store.

The only place to buy professional art supplies in Monroe County. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. Im returning to watercolors after a long absence. The gentleman who waited on me when I was last there was an accomplished watercolorist, and was of great assistance to me. Thank You!

We were talking to a few of the workers and they told us one of the upcoming classes were only $35 and they hire local artists to teach the classes. Seems like a great place to visit and sign up for their news letter....
