Wow, eat these waffles, you wont be disappointed. We got the pumpkin one (I imagined its seasonal, get it if you can!) And it was delicate, spongy, and buttery with a delicious topping of a kind of cream cheese frosting (not too sweet). The pumpkin spice latte was wonderfully NOT sweet, with a great balance of pumpkin and spice. The lavender cardamom latte was similarly not sweet and had an excellent balance of flavors.
The espresso had a very nice and bold flavor followed by a fruity berry after taste.
One of my resolutions for the new year is to explore more local restaurants, specifically searching for breakfast spots. Glen Edith is a cozy spot off Park Ave. I stopped in with my husband for breakfast and coffee on a cold, snowy Friday morning. I ordered avocado toast with an egg and a latte. I also split an almond pastry with my husband. Everything was fresh and delicious. I am looking forward to tasting some of their other options in the near future!
Looks like a really solid cafe. Seemed like the obvious choice for Roc. Really appealing aesthetic. Cortado had a bit of a roasted flavor to it but not bitter at all. The little churro bite was a nice addition! Three star mainly for slightly over priced drinks as well as a much longer than necessary wait. But not a bad place to work on the Mac for a while.
Visited here Saturday Mar 14th. There is a very small parking lot and another parking lot for a plaza across the coffeehouse. I parked in that plaza parking lot even though technically we were allowed! From their instagram I believe this business is still open for takeout! Their instagram is @glenedithcoffee!!Anyways, I’ve always heard of great things about Glen Edith and Glen Edith’s name is a staple rochester local business. I had the mocha kick latte and the lumber long john sandwich. The mocha definitely had a kick to it, I found that most of the spiciness was at the top of the drink but honestly gave me more time to recover with the rest of the drink. I don’t usually prefer spicy drinks but I wanted something with capsaicin to honestly kill any bad things in my body just in case with this whole pandemic 😅 As for the sandwich it was very tasty and I tell my friends this all the that pesto is the besto! Highly Recommend! At the time when they had dine in options still allowed in NYS, Glen Edith was taking extra precautions and using all disposable cups and plates which was a great precaution that they were taking at the time. I hope the dine in options will get better in NYS soon because this is an excellent place to chill and do work at!
One of my favorite coffee places. They do expertly crafted pour-over coffees, as well as espresso drinks. Their food is also really spectacular, though the vegan options are limited (but they do exist!). Pictured is A Toast of Green Envy (their avocado toast, vegan). This was taken on their outdoor seating area, which was surprisingly quiet and peaceful, for being right off busy Park Ave.
Used to love coming here for their drinks, staff, and ambience. Havent been in a while, stopped in and it picked up where it last left off. If you arent a normal coffee drinker then you might be a little lost reading their menu, but their staff is nice and should be able to offer you drinks youll love based off of what you like or are used to!
Coffee is great, pastries were very unique and delicious. Parking was a little difficult but there are plenty of parking options.
Loved it. My espresso was great. The staff was personable and quick. The feel of the place is incredibly chill. Set here with friends for a couple hours and could of stayed longer if it wasnt closing. I will be coming back!Edit: Just wanted to say Ive been back here many many times since this review. My drink is perfect EVERY SINGLE TIME! I will keep coming back!
Such a cozy intimate space that makes you want to linger. The cappuccino and banana bread was just as good as the service and conversation. Love the plant decor too!
Such a cool place!Visited from out of state. The barista was friendly and super helpful. I was having the trouble finding parking but I called and she helped me figure out where to park. The atmosphere was cozy and comfortable. I had a lavender cardamom latte and a pourover and the coffee was GREAT. Hope I can come back to this place again sometime.
Best (oatmilk) cappuccino in Rochester!
Love this place I just think it closes too early
Their lattes are my favorite, and super hi-qual👌🏼👌🏼. I’m grateful their indoor seating has been available in these Covid times!
Nice place, definitely a more upscale vibe but it is not to the point of being pretentious. Prices are decent for quality. It was pretty crowded when I was there (Wednesday @ 330), so I would be prepared for a decent crowd. Would go again.
Very good espresso shot pulls, the mark of competence.
As usual, nice and friendly staff. Great black coffee.
Great atmosphere for studying, reading, or catching up with a friend. Coffee is kind of expensive and their iced selection is not only limited but comes in very small containers. I would give 5 stars if their serving size was bigger. Other than that I enjoy spending time at this location.
Great coffee and friendly baristas!
Best avocado toast in Rochester and they serve a great pour over. They have good seating and a very clean bathroom as well so its a great place to relax for a while.
Super spot to grab a brewed for you coffee, to go, or to enjoy in their ample seating. Coffee is roasted in house, and it’s respectfully done so not to burn or over roast the beans. Great flavours emerge as a result. Snacks are from local bakeries and food items are also available, though I didn’t eat during my visit. On the coffee side, brewed coffees are hand crafted with pour over or Chemex as you place your order. Espresso based drinks are available as well. My latter was excellent!
I really like this place for doing work or meeting up with people. Coffee is good. However, the reward system needs a revamp. You have to spend $5 to receive your customer loyalty points, not including tax, which isnt very customer friendly... especially considering that most drinks are under this threshold, even though with tax Im spending more than $5 on a latte.
Great coffee to keep you awake while studying. Great environment to have a meeting. Great vibes to sit and enjoy the company of friends and others. But also, a great place to escape everyone and just enjoy a great cup of coffee if you so choose to.
Came in to do some work, and ordered a latte. The latte was good. As I was working I noticed how cold it was inside Glen Edith to the point where I could not feel my fingers as I was trying to type on my laptop. And this was not because of people walking in and out/door being opened, it was just so cold in there. The person with me started shivering so we decided to take off. I thought coffee joints were supposed to be cozy?
Best coffee in Rochester, great cafe ambiance, friendly baristas. Couldnt ask for more from a cafe, I go all the time.
Very cute and cozy place! The lattes were handed to us a few short moments after we ordered!! The staff was very polite and left a wonderful experience! Definitely recommend this place! The latte tasted AMAZING!!! VERY RICH AND FLAVORFUL!!
Top shelf coffee shop. Everything is on point but one thing to know; if you like strong dark coffee you may want to order something different. I am a fan of strong dark coffee and they mainly do pour over with the lighter roasted fruity coffees. Their espresso has a little sourness to it as well, not a knock on the place but just an FYI.
I just moved to Rochester so I’m trying out new coffee shops in the area. This place is so over-priced and they only have about 3-4 flavor shots, the cold brew was okay but there’s nothing really special about this place in my opinion.
This is a fantastic coffee shop. It has the modern reclaimed wood/ subway tile/ communal table feel of so many 3rd Wave coffee shops. The staff is really nice. The customers are really hip, friendly and youthful. There is plenty of seating. And most importantly, the coffee is on point! The Slayer espresso is excellent!Dont be distracted by the out-of-the-way location. It only adds to the charm as a neighborhood place...its definitely not a Starbucks, or even like a Blue Bottle or Intelligentsia...its better than all of those in almost every way.
If you have not been here yet, you are truly missing out on a delicious cup of coffee. Glen Edith is one of my favorite coffee shops in Rochester. Definitely a jewel. My other favorite is Ugly Duck. I have not had a bad cup of coffee here nor a bad latte. The vanilla lattes have a rich flavor and the sweetness, cream, and expresso are perfectly proportioned. I only wished they had larger serving sizes. I recently bought the Bean Cruiser and Kenya AA coffee beans for both coffee press and cold brew at home. Since then, I have fallen in love with the Bean Cruiser in both cold brew and press. It is rich, delicious, and mellow. The Kenya AA has very distinct flavors that overshadow everything, including cream and sugar, and that is a bit overwhelming for me. It is not bad, but I would not purchase it again. Some will love the flavors, but not my cup of Joe. The Bean Cruiser on the other hand will replace my current coffee.
This place is great! Delicious coffee(I got a latte, bf got a cortado), adorable space that reminds me of Brooklyn, *BEST BLT EVER*, and fantastic service. (: very happy!
This is an amazing place! The coffee is literally the best Ive had in Rochester. Smooth, bold, and no hint of acidic or bitter aftertaste. Not to mention every time I arrive one of the staff members greets me. Excellent service! You need to come here and show some love for this small coffee shop!
Loved the atmosphere and coffee. Went to the one on Park
The coffee and drinks here are always good. was actually pretty hungry when I walked in one evening. Told the barista I needed the sandwich she made to change the rest of my life, and she didnt flinch. I think that was a good sign. Love the seating, and atmosphere. Great space.
Great service. Went with some friends to catch up, ordered a drink and it turned out they were out of one part. The barista (at our request) made us surprise drinks instead, all of which we enjoyed extremely. Great coffee great vibe.
Nice experience
Travelling from out of state and stopped by. Good coffee, good food, great service and environment. Highly recommend.
Wow- since when does a skim latte automatically come loaded with cinnamon on top ? I so enjoy glen Edith s lattes and have been getting them for over a year - and I have NEVER ever had a latte served this way . When I asked the server if she mistakenly added a Flavor, she happily replied “oh it s cinnamon”....not even acknowledging that SHE took the liberty of adding the load of cinnamon on to a normally great tasting latte. It tasted just like i was drinking, well- cinnamon instead of a latte . I know I should have asked her to make me another latte - the way I ordered it, but I just didn t ....since she gave NO acknowledgement that I was unhappy with my drink and she obviously saw nothing wrong with doing what she did. I should have been more assertive but I didn’t want any drama...and at $5.40 for a 10 ounce latte, (and what s up with the sudden almost 20% increase anyway?) it should be what you order, shouldn’t it ?
Wonderful service. Awesome bites to eat. Great atmosphere. Amazing coffee.
Friendly baristas. GREAT coffee. As in GREAT, like definitely go here. Breakfast foods are delicious as well. Your looking at average $4-5 for a drink but it is well worth it. The atmosphere is great for dates or introvert time.
These people know their way around a coffee bean. Great place to meet up with folks or get some work done.
This is always my very favorite coffee shop!! The baristas are the best here. They are the only place in town that can actually get a good foam with almond milk.... I also love the mocha kick with a little extra kick!! Yummy!!!
Comfortable atmosphere and excellent drinks. Love the nitro cold brew. The espresso tonic is a fun drink.
Good food and drinks. Lavender latte just tasted like a regular latte though and I didnt love the atmosphere. The workers were very nice though!
Glen Edith has the most delicious coffee Ive ever had. If they have their Ethiopian coffee on pour over, youll find me there. This particular location is fairly nice and comfy. Gives off a very relaxed and 70s vibe except the music which is mostly indie music. Their food is overpriced, but still tasty. Employees are pretty nice. The place itself is okay, Cafe Sasso has the nicer vibe, but the Ethiopian coffee wins me over every time. Delicious pour over.
Great coffee! A perfect place to meet someone for coffee, talk, catch up, and socialize!
Best coffee in Rochester! Will update the review if I found a better one. (They have some sandwiches and bakery options, too! If youre interested, there is a local bakery place next to them, so check it out, too).
The BFF BLT was hands down amazing! The great atmosphere and staff made it even better. I discovered this place two days ago and already went back for my second visit. Glen Edith is a true gem of Park Ave.
The best goddamn cup of coffee in the ROC hands down. Panamanian pour over is always my go to. I live in Syracuse and come out to Rochester to see music, but the coffee and atmosphere here would be worth the drive alone. Can hardly wait until the next time I get to enjoy this place again. Bravo
Phenomenal little coffee house nestled in an alley off of Park Ave. The coffee is always top notch and expertly crafted, whether that be a latte or pour over. Sure youre going to wait a little longer than if you hit up Starbucks, but believe me, the wait is well worth it!
I love this cafe. The atmosphere is cool, the staff was very friendly (encouraged me to move to a different parking spot so I didnt get towed) and the coffee was really good. Will be back w/ my wife soon!
This is definitely a great place to study. Very good coffee and espresso from people who arent too snobby about their coffee (although they could be). Its actually roasted in the back of the building, so its going to be fresh. Oh, and they have waffles!
One of my favorite coffee places in Rochester. A short macchiato is my favorite. Best place to work. Nice open space and simple modern interior design. I also like the food (Toast of green envy ;), the waffles, and the BLT sandwich are delicious).
Everything is delicious! I started coming here for the coffee. Ive never tasted a better roasted coffee... Then I discovered their food menu! My goodness, their breakfast sandwiches are to die for! Im officially addicted to coming here!
Wonderful place. Fantastic staff. Really love both the coffee ANd their menu. The Ode to Joy breakfast burrito is fabulous!
The only place in Rochester where Ive found Kombucha on tap. I cannot speak on the coffee (it is mainly a coffee place) but their food is good as well but Its not a dinner place. You cannot go wrong with their Waffles.Great place to do homework or watch the day go by. Staff is friendly and it is typically packed on Sundays so plan accordingly.
The coffee is amazing and so were the waffles! I highly recommend Glen Edith to anyone who likes real coffee.
Amazing atmosphere and staff. Incredible coffee. 👊🏼 Highly recommend.
Good coffee, odd location, havent tried the food, need to come back and try it. I have heard good things about the food.Staff is friendly and I love the decor.
Stopped in for coffee at this hipster spot with folks on laptops whispering to each other over their fancy pour over coffees. I ordered one from a very friendly handsome man. When I received my coffee and went to pour in the milk and sugar, I found two nasty bugs floating in my coffee!! Talk about an appetite suppressant. Servers graciously refunded my money and I left, coffeeless.
Waffle is awesome! Very good place for study or meet up with friends.
I come here to work all of the time. Minimalistic decorations and perfect work atmosphere. The music is always good and the coffee is my favorite in town.
Fantastic coffee and espresso drinks (as well as mini-bar) for reasonable prices. Parking situation is less-than-optimal but you make due with what you have. Internal atmosphere is close knit and quaint. Wi-Fi available to customers. Finger foods and short menu offered. Coffee related accessories also available for purchase. Love this spot for either a quick cup to go or a lengthy sit-and-sip session with a good book!
Glen Edith is a bit expensive but the coffee is delicious and the space is very zen. Its one of my favorite places in Rochester when Im looking to splurge on a really good cup of coffee.
While the environment of this establishment is lovely, the owner not so much. He has a history of not treating hos employees well, esp those who are either not Christian and or queer. He also stole his idea from others with little passion for the field. Some of his employees are great. His roasting is just ok. I would go to fuego or fifth frame or Eden ugly duck instead.
Neat little spot off the main road, Park Ave. Its hidden back there, but great coffee and vibes.
Visiting Rochester for just a couple days and found Glen Edith online. Its a fantastic coffee shop. The servers and baristas are attentive and friendly. The coffee to quality. I had a pour over and breakfast burrito. Highly recommended.
Best coffee shop in Rochester, bar none. The lattes are consistently superb and very reasonably priced. The food is also phenomenal. The entire place has a very laid back vibe.
Good place to buckle down and do some homework. I love the coffee too, but do not find it to be a very comfortable place to sit and do homework for a while, and lets not even talk about parking, thus overall 4/5.
Amazing third wave coffee shop who roasts their own beans as well as offers specialty drinks and craft beers. I love light roasts and their Ethiopian was terrific.
Great artisan coffee. Very hipster place. Great food also. Expect to wait as its all hand made/poured but its well worth it.
Great cup of coffee and the breakfast sandwich was delicious. Super nice servers to top it off. Will definitely be visiting again.
This place is is best described as a hipsters paradise. The coffee is ground and brewed right in front of you - they pour hot water by hand over grounds in a filter over a glass jar. Decent prices but is not a cozy place.
Good coffee and great local spot. Nitro cold brew A+
Used to be POUR. Decent place for coffee. Very industrial, not cozy at all. Good selection.
Chill atmosphere. Decent cup of coffee. Excellent breakfast menu!
Met up with a coworker here late in the afternoon on a Friday to chat. We sat at the bar and the latte I ordered was great. The place is one big room and upon walking in I felt as if I walked into a college common area. The crowd was 80-90% college students on laptops.
This place is a joke. The coffee is good but you are in great risk of having your car towed. $130 CASH and a ride through the city to get your vehicle back. Becareful where you park. Is it worth a cup of coffee?
The best coffee place in all of Rochester. They specialize in pour over coffee, but also make some really delicious lattes and cold brews as well. The place definitely has a hipster feel to it, but is welcoming to all patrons.
Not a huge coffee snob, but I can certainly taste the pour-over difference at Glen Edith. The coffee & waffle combo never disappoints.
One of my favorite Saturday morning places. Music is interesting, and at a volume that allows conversation. Staff actally knows me by name, and they remember my favorite things.
Great coffee, great food, and great space! If you want to ditch the coffee chains and try local, this is the place to go. I especially recommend their cappuccinos and breakfast menu.
