While taking the wheels off to get to the brakes, they ruined perfectly good lugnuts and then said they couldn’t get it back on. Expected us to pay for the replacement. Refused to even replace the ones they ruined.

I was driving from Wisconsin to Virginia with my children, one a toddler, and my brakes went out the Friday before labor day. Without any wait they helped me, they showed me just what was wrong, since just 5 days before I had work done on my car and 2 months ago I had my brakes done... They explained what they were doing, what had happened to my brakes, gave me an extremely fair rate and got me back on the road safely and quickly. I have to make the drive between DC and Wisconsin often and will always stop at this location to have an inspection before getting back on the road to return to DC. 10/10, and that doesnt even include how patient they were with a toddler in their waiting area!

I am thoroughly impressed with the service I received here! Walked in after 4:30 pm needing all four brake pads and rotors. Not only did Midas beat the price from the dealer by a substantial amount, but they had the job done before closing whereas the dealer told me they didnt think they could get the work done same day. Ill be using this shop again for service on my vehicles!

First off I want to say the friendliness and professionalism at this location is the best. Mike at the front desk has expert knowledge and let’s you know anything / everything you need. He talked to me while I was getting my work done and he said I didn’t even need brakes and let me say they WILL NOT charge you for work you don’t need. Most places would of told me needed them when I didn’t. Cheapest prices around too. Definitely will be returning for regular maintenance on my vehicle. I’ll recommend them to everyone I know that needs work done.

We had a rear brake line blow out while traveling and we stopped here to repair it. They got us in right away and did a great job fixing it up. While we waited, we got to talk to the gentleman in the office who was so friendly and wonderful. We had some great conversation with him and before we knew it our truck was fixed in no time! Great service and a super friendly staff here!

Coupons were advertised but I was charged $50 more than I was expecting to pay. I asked for my tires to be filled up and that wasnt done. I had to go fill them up myself after paying over $70.

I have been going to Midas since I moved to Rockford 1 1/2 years ago. Great service and I feel comfortable with them servicing my car. I will need tires soon (within a month or two). I will be taking advantage of the wonderful promotion for a full set of tires for less than $600 (Cooper tires) which ends November 1st. Got to get ready for the winter. I would recommend others to visit then for any vehicle needs.

Replaced an engine in a family members car. Has not run right since. Had to take it back because it stopped dead in the road andeft her family stranded. Cost 1400. After they quoted 1200. 10 minutes before I picked it up for them!!!

They got me in quickly, quoted me 700 for a brake job. I said I dont have that much. Guy laughed, then got serious. Said just after they looked at the brakes it just then started leaking fluid. So I didnt have any choice. Dude, I still dont have 700, and now the brakes are mushy, and Im scared to drive home. Terrible.

Very fast the only thing is they tell you the special is for 29 or 39 and you end up paying 52 something $5 for God only knows $6 for usage of tools and shop and I know I did not have a leak on my booster on my driver side but for some reason now I have a leak in my booster and its a straight cut leak that is very strange and the person that was doing my car kept on looking on the side of the hood at Me I said maybe he was tampering and wanted to know if anybody was coming but neither the last my car got done and I was out of there

Went here to get my exhaust fixed. They wasted no time in getting my car up on the lift and bringing me out to show me the problems rather than try to explain it to me. Another customer was there to get his hatch-back fixed after another shop quoted him 800 instead of 200 that Midas charged. Overall the experience was very professional. They even told me I needed a new battery (which I knew I did but already had one back home) but I told him I didn’t need it and didn’t try to push the purchase on me. They understood what I was there to get done and they did it with no haggle or terminology I couldn’t understand.Cory Boston

Took my car into your so-called establishment Friday, June 5th for an oil change. I only went there due to their current $17.76 conventional oil change special. They conducted an initial inspection of my car, but amazingly they found specific issues (e.g., leaking fluids, leaking/rattling exhaust system, loose front links, lower tread on my tires). Allow me to delineate point by point each of these found issues: regarding the leaking fluids, the brutal truth is all fluids are not leaking. I recently had new brake lines installed along with new wheel bearings and tie rod assembly (new struts are pending). Ran the car intermittent times (let me know if some of these words are too complex for your understanding) to determine if there were any leaks. Interestingly, none were leaking. Shocker! I was also told brake pads need to be replaced. Really?! Interesting how this could be when I had all principal (big word here) brake parts (e.g., brake pads, shoes, drums, and rotors) replaced and installed right before Christmas. Hmm...curious! I had new exhaust system installed in 2019. Hard to believe it having a lifetime warranty I would be sold an item which would violate this so soon. Hmm...curious! Regarding the front links, hard to believe and imagine when I requested a complete and full front-end inspection with my guy (not Midas) these front links would be conveniently overlooked. Hmm..curious! Now, referencing the tires I will give these a**hole dummies credit here as I was initially informed by them the tire tread has worn down to where they will be needed to be replaced eventually (I also took the car to a real tire dealer where the same thing was confirmed). So, to finish my rant here: you a**hole dummies have proven and have convinced me to never again seek services with your a**hole shop. Its any wonder anybody chooses to seek services here in the first place. Pathetic.

The first thing I did was tell them I had a warranty and they told me they didnt want to do the work because I had a warranty that warranty sucked. I said I could take my vehicle somewhere else then if you dont want to do the work he said oh well I guess I will. I had new ball joints put on the front end of my van because they told me they were bad and they couldnt align my tires in the front because of bad ball joints. I paid around $1,000 to have this work done to no avail I drove home from Illinois to Arizona. On the way home my steering was going toward the left into the oncoming traffic so I fought it the whole way back home. When I got home I took the vehicle to a Ford dealership to find out what was wrong with it. They told me the alignment was off and that it needed to be a line. I paid $135 for them to tell me that Midas didnt do their job right. Called Midas back and told them and they said were not paying for nothing to get it fixed we did the job right. I said why you better do something or Im going to report you to the Better Business Bureau and Yelp you. I called the owner to tell him about the problem and ask him to pay to have it fixed right and he told me he wasnt going to. Finally he agreed to pay to have it fixed at a Midas in Arizona I agreed. But he wouldnt pay me back for the money I spent at the Ford dealership do you have the problem diagnosed . I told him I was going to call corporate and report him and he said corporate aint gonna do shitt and they didnt. Anyway long story short he does have a few good employees there but the business is self is the bunk. I would advise anybody reading this to beware of this business or any mind us business in the future. Im writing this to let you know so this doesnt happen to you.

If I could I would of gave it no stars. I took my husband and I cars there for a oil change because they were having a special. Well the special is they just drain and fill you oil, no new oil filter on either. My mechanic checked to make sure we were right and yep we both had Napa oil filters on, which he placed at the last oil change. When I called and spoke to the lady at the front desk, she was very nice and told us to bring our cars back and if they werent the oil filters they would get our money back. Well we never did, I just will never go back, the trust is gone. Take hour vehicle some where else.

Replaced a catalytic converter, after 3 months welds broke, had it replaced and was charged another $170 for installation. Broke again in a week. Was told it was my fault and would cost an additional $830 in unnecessary parts and would have to pay for the installation of the new catalytic converter AGAIN. Replaced the parts with high performance units which cost less than what they originally charged for the low quality garbage, and have had no issues since. If you are going to offer people garbage parts at least have the courtesy to charge low prices for them. Total rip off.

I scheduled an appointment to have my oil changed. When I got there the guy Mike was very rude, and unprofessional. While having a conversation with him about the service he would continuously cut me off and start another conversation with other people. He then tried to change the price of my oil change. Again, he was very rude and had a bad attitude

Had my appointment for 1:00 pm came in at 12:50 and was told “someone’s tires came in so we’re doing those and then an alignment so it will be at least an hour and half before we can get to yours”Very unprofessional and don’t know how to keep appointments who were made ahead of time.

Took my car in to get it to start. They said they werent sure & said the spark plugs were bad & oil is covering it. There was nothing wrong with them & it looked like it was dunked. Took it to another shop & turns out it was the starter.

Would give it 0 stars if I could. They lied about the time to diagnosis my vehicle then tried to make me feel obligated to pay over their allotted time - timed it myself. Then refused to work on my vehicle unless they use their over priced parts. The price for my work done elsewhere with parts was less then half of what Midas on Alpine tried to charge me. Paid them their diagnosis fee and left. WILL NEVER COME BACK!!!

3 stars because of the misdiagnosis of my car and or dishonest tactics to get me to buy more stuff.. The thing that makes this place is good customer service. Kyle, whom I think is gone now, was a great employee. The thing that bothers me is that every time I got an oil change they would come up with new problems I needed repaired... I got a second opinion all three times this happened. And all three times my car was completely fine!Once was for trans fluid, that had been changed less than a year prior! And “leaking shocks” that were basically dry as a bone. One positive is that the oil changes were decent price and speed.

This place is a huge rip off! It took about 2 guys, 7 or 8 mins to pop in headlights that I already purchased online and they charged me $46! No thanks! This is my neighborhood place and I wont be back. When I called they said easier ones start at about $15.

Went in to fix a check engine light that was on because of the O2 sensor (what autozone said). Midas said it wasnt that and proceeded to do a $500+ repair that they thought was the problem. When finished the light was still on because of course, the O2 sensor still needed to be changed which will cost another $200+ (which will be done at a different mechanic). Told us that the timing belt needed to be changed because it was about to break but wait! It has to be changed along side the water pump because the kit includes both. Another $900+ repair. They had the car at the shop for two days and finally on the third day they said they were not able to fix it because they were having trouble taking the engine apart. They refunded us our money and we left after paying over 500 with the issue we wanted fixed not even touched. Went to a different mechanic who said of course it was the O2 sensor that needs to be replaced and we were gipped. He recommended we take the car to the Toyota dealer for the timing belt who said it was no problem for them to replace it. Midas is only out to get your money and they will attempt to fix something they apparently cant fix and inconvenience the heck out of you! Beware, stick with local shops. They are more honest and truly look out for you.

Went in for an oil change. The mechanic managed to fill my transmission with engine oil. They flushed my transmission and replaced the filter for free of course but thats a mistake to be made long before you work at a professional shop. Not to mention the big yellow engine oil cap on top of the engine. Then I asked of they had found any other deficiencies and I was told no but my front brakes were very worn, my rear struts are shot, and both cv Boots were torn and the grease was splattered all over in a clean engine bay. I dont have confidence in this shop at all. Im a former automotive mechanic. Just didnt have time and figured a shop could handle an oil change.

Take your car anywhere else these guys clearly just want to make money off of you, I love how the mechanics toolbox has a giant sticker that reads “MONEY MAKER” very classy Midas.. We brought the car in for rear brakes after calling and asking for the pricing they told us it will be 200$, We waited almost two hours for them to “inspect the brakes” there was one other person there with us AND we made an appointment! Okay fast forward two hours and I receive a call that they inspected the brakes and gave me an even higher price of almost 400$ and tried to sell me on front brakes and I they literally had been replaced a week prior. MY NEW BRAKES NEEDED CHANGING? I changed them myself as I do for both of my cars. All I asked them to do was change my rear brakes... no nonsense just my rear brakes I was willing to pay for the quote I was given on the phone because it’s wet outside and I just wanted to take a break from working on both I and my husbands car.So we went to pick up the car and you know what, no shake down, no paperwork showing they touched my car and even went as far as “inform” me that my tires are directional and insisted I put them on the wrong sides. Of course I know the tires are directional he didn’t have the mechanic put them on the right way!!He told me the mechanic might have switched the tires to the correct direction and didn’t even care to ask the mechanic if they were on the right way after they discovered that.It was the most helpful thing they could do..absolutely nothing. 👌🏻 when I got home I put them on the correct way at least it was 40 degrees this weekend. 🤦🏻‍♀️You cant tell me if you had to change tires in this cold you couldn’t accidentally put them on the wrong way if you had to rush it. I mean come on we’re all human! When I told him I was fully aware of what parts need changing, as I inspected them the day prior, he called another customer up to the desk and ignored me, He didn’t even tell me to have a good day, or that our transaction was finished, Etc. This was a real test of how their customer service had changed over the course of one year. They screwed me on suspension work twice in one year for 900$+ on my previous car took it to another shop and even after they fixed it twice and no more problems. Makes you think twice about who touches your cars. I’ll never let another Midas Golden Touch my car again. 🙉

My 2007 Saturn Ion needed new brakes, pads and rotors. I took it to F&F Tire on July 18, 2013. They replaced the front pads and rotors for $251.54. Within two days, a loud rubbing sound was coming from the front passenger side of the vehicle. The sound occurs while in motion, with or without the engine on and transmission in neutral. I took the vehicle back to F&F on July 22, and it was diagnosed as a bad wheel bearing. The manager stated that it was NOT the brakes as he personally performed the repair. I refused to allow them to repair this at the time. I sought a second opinion at Midas in Rockford. I informed them that I just had brakes done and there is a loud rubbing sound. They also state it is a wheel bearing. However, on August 18 I had the wheel bearing replaced by my brother-in-law, whom was stating that there was no issue with the wheel bearing but replaced it anyway as TWO shops stated this diagnosis. However, the sound remains. I called F&F today, August 19, and the manager stated that it may be the differential. I asked him why they would not check it further, he stated that they would have to take it apart to inspect it. I spent 89.99 on a part based upon their expert advice.

I have been a customer at this location for YEARS. Yesterday, I took my car in because it was making a noise when it turned right. They called and gave me the recommended repair which I approved. When I got my car back, it was making a new noise, very scary. They stayed an extra 2 hours after they closed, plus 4 hours the next morning to fix what was wrong. The manager is SO amazingly nice and talks you through every step and LISTENED to me. He knew I wouldnt lie about the noise and made sure they took every step to fix it, which was 6 extra hours. Every business makes mistakes, its not possible to be perfect... but the way they respond when they make the mistake is whats important and thats why Im giving Kyle and the staff 5 stars!!

This is within walking distance of my home and have used them for years. BUT I went to have my transmission leak fixed and I think they broke another part. Ok, it does have 100,000+miles and sits outside year around. Had it repaired. But the called me and said my 1year old battery was bulging and basically exploding. I have a 3 year replacement warranty in my Sears diehard. I declined the purchase of a new battery and drove to Schaumburg, 1 hour drive.(closest sears,ours closed) they opened the hood and it looked fine. No bulge, no nothing! WHAT!!! I waisted my gas and time on nothing....I trusted them and feel like IVE been taken advantage of. Guess what boys, never again. We have three cars and wont return.Do not have them fix your car! Go nextdoor, they are always busy!So hurt, I wont return.

I took my sons car in to get a professional brake job done for his safety. It ended up being near $500 + dollars to get it done. Then two months later the brakes went soft, i thought it was a master cylinder, but when I took it in to my mechanic he said the brake line had been pinched between the drum and pad. So much for professional brake job.I will call, and expect no results to this issue. First time and last time customer.AVOID AT ALL COST!!!

My brakes jus started goin bad & it was freezing out so took it in for the 99$ special. he said my fairly new rotors were bad & air filters were clogged. its a 2009 wit low miles. the rotors showed no wear he said it was not visible?? wtf does that mean? they were even under my hood lookin for problems. he said I would be screwed unless I paid the 650$. I couldve talked him into jus the pads but desided to leave. worried I had 2 mechanics look at & they laughed at the story. paid the 40$ & did em myself. so midas pretty muched refused my 100 bucks & send me away with bad brakes
