Everyone so nice and helpful. This was my first time shopping in this store. I will definitely come back and referral my Family and Friends.

I used to like shopping here, but it’s not worth it anymore. In the past I’ve found some worthwhile items but it takes hours to sift through the no-name, out of style, damaged items they’re trying to turn a profit on. The racks are jam packed and the aisles are narrow so the experience is stressful. Quite honestly, I don’t even think their prices are reasonable for a consignment store. A huge Goodwill just opened up the road on Rockville Pike and I recently found 8 brand name items for less than $40. It’s also super spacious and obviously much cheaper. I’d recommend Goodwill over this place any day.

Great place! Literally has all the new trendy fashion but for a better price! They have tons of name brands and they buy clothes from you if you want to sell them!

This is a great place to find some good deals on quality clothes, shoes, and bags. The staff was very courteous and the store was clean and organized.

Good 2nd hand clothing store with a lot of very good clothes in nice condition at good prices. Customer service is good, store is clean with dressing rooms in the back, there is a good clearance rack and they have a program you can sign up for to get discounts and promotions.

Great! Got the vegetarian dishes on back of menu. My daughter got veg pho and I got the salad type of thing. All excellent. Ate every bit!

Loved this place! Just bring your used clothes in a box, and they assess your items. They have a large display screen that shows your status for having your financial assessment made on your clothes. The selection is really good and the prices are absolutely unbeatable. I was able to get three polos and three shorts, all name brands for only $80.00. And that was before my store credit was applied. The place is clean, bright and well run. The staff is very nice and friendly. Fantastic experience.

Everyone was extremely friendly, but not over crowding. Really nice selection of merchandise, nice size selection. Also, for a Resale /Consignment Shop, the price are reasonable. Due to their selections, it makes sense why theyre very selective with the items they purchase. All in all very great place to shop, I enjoy it and the Sales!

Efficiently run and pleasant personnel. This cash ( or store credit) for your in style clothing has quite the variety for both men and women including shoes and accessories. They also carry some New items also.No appointment is required and it has always been a nice shopping experience

I came in with about 7 pairs of shoes and was going to donate what I couldn’t get cash for but I never got a call back from them about the shoes.I know they assumed I was going to drop it off and not get back to them but I returned the same day, spoke with the same associate, and she asked me “did you want to just donate them?” So I took my shoes and left to do just that.I get that they deal in “upscale” department store brands and I brought what was mostly running nikes and dress shoes, but at least have the common curtesy to have your buyer call me and tell me you don’t want them and give me the opportunity to pick them up or donate. Very disappointed and will not be returning.

My very first time stepping in the store. Oh my the ladies are so very helpful, nice greeting me and my son with a smile. I told them that this is a great comfortable place to shop. They also made sure that the store was clean and very organized. They are very well spoke and friendly. All of the team members work together and help one another very impressive.Everything I saw was well placed. My shopping experience at this location was wonderful, and my son said the same. We will be back in two weeks. We really like the customer service. They deserve a million stars and more, thanks to the whole team we enjoyed our shopping experience. They have great designer brand purses are greatprices. They also have an array of name brand jackets and coats at reasonable prices. I found a purse retailed at 550 for 85 dollars! The purse was new with tags.

To all my fair and darker skin people reconsider selling or purchasing items from Uptown Cheapskate. I brought several pairs of shoes & a handbag to sell. The cashier only took one of my shoes for $4. In regards to my items she indicated that it had alot of wear & tear. While walking around the store. I picked up several pieces and some of the items were not in the best shape. My shoes and handbags was in good shape. In the future I will not purchase and or sell anything to and from them. Beware they have a color complex! While reading some the reviews I noticed the same issue from other women of my skin type.

Horrible service, girls working there are super rude and will make comments about you while in the fitting rooms. Heard 2 of thr staff openly making jokes about girls in the fitting rooms.

Uptown cheapskate will always be my fav store!! although finding cute pieces that fit me can sometimes be hit or miss there, it’s rare i don’t walk into the dressing room with armfuls of clothes. everything is always priced so affordably makes it difficult to say no lol. i was able to purchase 10 items for $2.09 the other day since i sold so many pieces to the store and received store credit! i love cleaning out my closet and taking it to cheapskate and filling it up with new pieces! such a fun experience they make so enjoyable and easy

Returned from the store with a bad feeling in my gut. At purchase I was notified that it would not be possible to apply a damage discount along with a birthday discount. Damage discounts should be applied regardless due to the condition the clothes are in. The associate not only failed notify me of my best option, but asked if I wanted the discounts on separate transactions. At the end of the day, they do not have your best interest in mind. Will not be returning until this is changed.

Please hear me out as I go to this store 3 times per month. I sell once a month and purchase twice a month between 1-3 items.Selling:You are only going to receive a good value if you bring items in New, Like New or Very Good condition and usually branded ones. Yes, there are things in worse condition in the store but remember that does not mean they have purchased those items.When you are selling they are the buyers .They have the right to say no to your entire box!. Why? because they dont buy base on having but on needing certain things. Which if you are not looking to their inventory you would not know. There is no reason for bashing a business like this just because they didnt buy from you . On average I bring 30 - 60 items they only take 5-8.Buying:Customer service deserves a 3 star review.The two ladies always at front in the register are indeed the most kind. People in the dressing rooms are always with an attitude. They keep telling you bring your items outside. Excuse me, if I am in a rush and need to buy something quick why am I supposed to take care of that. If one employee is not enough to keep dressing rooms neat then, called two over there because as far as I observe ladies are all the way talking upfront when no customers are selling their items or in line. I visit other thrift stores in the area. You guys need to have an space only for new items . Seriously! try it . One of the stores (another company) in kensington has done this and the manager has told me they sell out quick. Have at least one associate on the floor to help with purchases and is not fair not to combine coupons. Also, the girls in the floor when you ask a question and they are taking care of the racks almost always they answer: I dont know .Listen, go ahead and help the customer find the item that it needs or something similar, show that you care . Learn from other retail stores that follow this model of customer service.Finally, I have worked 6 years in retail, studying for marketing and human resources. I hope the manager of this store go through this review and seriously pay attention to the things I mentioned .

I love to shop, My husband takes me there and I always get out of the car saying Honey, I will only be 15 minutes. The problem is no matter how hard I try and the wide selection that the store offers there is no way I can only be 15 minutes. I always return to the car about 2 hours later and still feel like I was rushed and didnt get a chance to see everything that I might want to buy. My awesome purchases is well worth the fight that will take place in the car with my husband on the way home that I left him in the car for so long! This has happened over 15 times. I even moved an hour away and I still have to go there at least once a month. The other day there I had the pleasure of working with Jasmine, she was so much fun (even though she probably made me spend double the money) and was super quick understanding me and what I like as well as fast with the checkout process which sometimes can be hell. This time I returned to the car with my husband waiting 3 and half hours later. I definitely threw Jasmine under the bus with my husband blaming her for finding all the things I loved. I will now always call ahead and make sure she is working before I come. If she is not there I will wait until she is. That is how much she makes my favorite store even better and makes the the whole adventure one that I wont forget. Thank you Jasmine!! Just noticed this Uptown Cheapskate ad on bus 56 at Rockville Metro Center.

I love the clothes here! Usually every time I go in I find exactly what I was looking for. Sadly with my last purchase I found a pad in the pocket of the coat I purchased. The staff gives me a bitter vibe though. Definitely hard to sell thing there as well, but the staff surely keeps me from visiting because I don’t want to deal with awkward attitude when I go.

Saw the same style of leggings at my Thrift store in EXCELLENT condition and just paid $3.50!!You can definitely find the SAME brands at a thrift store for way CHEAPER then this store !! Won’t be returning !!!

I have never sold to this store, but I recently bought two shirts and a pair of shorts. The selection is good but the stuff are not the friendliest. I spent about two hours there and to me, I feel like the clothing is a little overpriced for used clothing. One shirt I found was super cute and I went home only to discover there was a hole in the front. There are a lot of brand name items and overall is a fun experience. I would maybe offer baskets while shopping because by the time I left, my arms were dead from holding all the hangers.

I love this spot. I recently went for the first time and I cant wait to go back [on a Wednesday and sell my clothes and get extra savings]. I got secondhand dresses for every occasion this summer. With all the amazing incentives and the ability to refresh my wardrobe... the possibilities are endless!

Really decent selection of used apparel. It was maintained, cleaned and displayed very neatly. The prices were really inexpensive and they offer many deals that were really attractive. On the fly I was able to get a full winter apparel for under 45 dollars. Thats a bargain when on youre in a tight spot and need a quick fix.

We love the stores vibe. Clothes are definitely on the high side in pricing for used items, but considering donors receive money back, this makes it more tolerable. Also, most teens shop with parents, not usually carrying ID that proves birth date. We were offered a birthday discount, only to be told we needed to prove it with a formal ID of some type. We have an account under the teens name with the birth date in the stores system. Not the best customer service moment.

Never actually sold anything here but I shop here! Love their selection and prices, it is organized within reason and I do not have to dig to find something good. They have LOTS of shoes which is something not many consignment shops have. The only downside is you can find some of their items are from places like Target, which do not get me wrong I like Targets clothes, but the price I do not feel reflects the fact that it is a target brand. Other than that the prices are great and the clothing selection is great!

Incredibly well kept store in a convenient location. Came in to give and went through a fairly easy process of filling out info with the help of a young lady. She explained the process pretty well. Only had to wait a few minutes for them to sort. They dont take plus-sizes and only go up to an XL. However, I was sorta expecting this and wasnt too surprised. What did surprise me is that another worker recommended a different shop that did take plus sizes. Overall, very helpful.

I don’t know why there are so many bad reviews here. I’ve had good experiences buying and selling from here. I usually bring in two big bags of clothes. They never take everything but that’s to be expected. The main reason they won’t take stuff is if it’s not on trend anymore or it’s too worn. For the stuff they do take, they usually offer a fair amount of $. They also have the option to choose a higher dollar amount in store credit vs a slightly lower amount in cash. Usually the store credit is better for me because I can always find something in there. Plus since I’m not wearing the clothes I sell there anymore, I like to think of it as a way to trade for stuff I will wear. They have a pretty good selection and it’s constantly changing with new stuff coming in. I’ve found several pairs of jeans and tops for decent prices.

Mostly geared towards teens and young adults. Ive sold here q few times and made decent money, even though they only took a fraction of my items. They seem to like trendier, less expensive items over pricier designer pieces.

I went to Uptown Cheapskate in Rockville, MD. Very dissappointed and surprised in their process of buying back clothes. In order to start the process of buying clothes, you must fill out paperwork (including asking for your drivers license). They claim it is to send you offers in the mail. Even if you do not want mail offers, you are still required to give all this private information about yourself.After filling out paperwork, you must wait for someone to go through your clothes to see if they will buy anything from you. It is not guaranteed. So not only do you have to fill out paperwork (will private information that only banks and government agencies require) you may not get any money for your items.I also went through their store to look at what they offer. The store is neat and organized and has a dressing room. Prices are reasonable, however, for used clothes, the clothes are still overpriced. You can easily find brand new clothes for the same prices as these used clothes.This store is NOT worth your time or money. Go elsewhere and buy new clothes at the same price or less.

Terrible customer service. I call to see if they were buying and they say yes (I called at 1:56pm and made a point to mention not wanting to make the drive in case they weren’t buying today) I show up just before 4:00 after driving 40+ minutes in the rain and get everything inside for the sales associate to inform me that they stop buying at 2:00 and there’s nothing they can do. Would rate 0 stars if I could, total waste of my time and gas

Good place to shop; not so much to sell. Resale price offered not very lucrative and almost insulting! So it behooves me that they have anything of value to sale since their resale value to sellers is extremely low. Must be a lot of folk simply looking to clean their closets out; certainly not for folk looking to even moderately cash out.

Appealing used clothing for men and women. They are friendly and the merchandise is mostly well sorted and clean. Buyer beware: some things arent perfect. But if you miss a deal-breaker stain before you buy, theres a 14-day return policy.

Great place to find great deals and great clothes. I really loved their selection and the arrangement of the store! It was easy to find things I needed. Although a majority of what they sell is used, everything was excellent quality and condition and they have a lot of new stuff as well. Plus, theyll give you a $10 coupon for your birthday!

If youre trying to sell clothes here, I would not recommend it. I brought in two large bags of clothes filled with designer brands, including designer purses. Out of those bags, only two items were taken and I was given a total of $5. I also was told the process of sorting would take 45 minutes. I heard them calling people up when their orders were done, so I thought they would do the same for me. They did not and I waited closer to an hour and 15 minutes before I walked up to see what was going on. My bags were behind the cash register, untouched. I was told Oh yeah, your order is done! and then given the $5 verdict. A waste of time truly.

Very good selection. Many name and expensive brands for a low price like lulu lemon, Patagonia, AE, Columbia, PINK, etc. They even make their own new clothes.

The staff here are always so friendly and helpful. They have a variety of styles in lots of different sizes, and everything is pretty much up to date with current fashion.Yes, some clothes/shoes will be slightly worn, but thats because its a SECONDHAND store. Its recycling old clothes; however, Ive never had a problem with something being too damaged or worn for me to wear.Its also really great for semi-final clothes! I bought a CK dress for a quince and it was as good as new. I will be going back often in an effort to sell and recycle my old clothes and buy recycled clothes.

Second time there first time me nd a friend went they bought a couple of things! But nothing from her 2 bags. I dont understand what are they looking for because i see similar things there in the store. They didnt take my two new pairs of juicy contour jeans with take still on them.I went in today January 26th on a Sunday waited 1hr nd a half to find they didnt accept anything and as i looked at my 2 bags everything looks pretty much the same. I dont think they looked in my bags at all and i have alot of nice quality clothes didnt take my Uggs or nothing what a waste!! I looked at a couple things that was new wanted to buy but i said no they didnt buy nor accept my things so Im not going to spend money here either.

If there was a 0 star rating, I would of pushed it.According to them, your clothes have to be in their 2 year bracket which is not even on the website. They will not take clothes past the timeframe. 😐 I had a bag of clothes that WERE everyday casual clothing that 16-22 year olds are wearing. Saying my clothes aren’t casual enough pisses me off. Furthermore, that store could of took my clothes, instead of putting it back it the bag and saying,” Your clothes have to be in the 2 year timeframe and not business casual.” None of my clothes are business casual the hell. Great place for taller/skinny people like myself. Most thrift/consignment shops have tiny mens sections, with at most 1-3 pairs of pants in my size (30x32, ish), whereas they have a ton. Most of their clothes are great quality, barely used.If youre selling, just keep in mind they are super picky about what they accept - even if the clothes are unworn, they wont take things that they dont think will sell.

Absolutely will not work with them ever again. They took 5 of my higher end clothes that value was near $700 and they offered $18 which I accepted and when I went back, to use the $18 credit, I wasnt even in the computer (even they had taken my name and phone number) and several times inquiry I made going to the store talking to the manager and they called owner, they said they would call back and never did and they took the clothes and never paid me this pitty $18. Its their KARMA this way of doing business and only it comes back to them this level of dishonesty.

You have to look hard and most of the stuff isnt worth what they are charging. After reading the reviews of how long it took them to even look at things people brought in to sell, which were pretty consistent, Im going to give some of my things to Value Village and maybe sell some of them somewhere else.

Selection is hit or miss which is to be expected. Staff is friendly and you can get a good deal on nicer things kept in the glass cabinets. Only complaint is the return policy which is very limited.

Shopping, pricing is as if items were like-new. If you’re planning on selling, make sure you take a handful of items and be aware they don’t give you much. If you take a huge bag they don’t bother opening it. I had a lot of NEW, WITH PRICE TAGS stuff from places like H&M, NY&Co etc. Even two unused purses. They didn’t take anything. My bag still had the knot tied the way I had given it to them. I would rather continue selling online. If you’re trying to find great deals Try some close by thrift stores! I found a $79 purse (new) for $10.

Great place to shop for outstanding hand me down. Uptown cheapskate buys gently used designer brands from you and sells them for moderate prices. Definitly check them out. Ive found some great buys there.

The store was clean and nice, the selection was impressive. I was surprised at some of the brands that they carried. - Aeropostale- however the merchandise was nice. I brought clothing to sell, however they were not interested in a lot of it . It makes me thing they use the buy clothing as a gimmick to entice a person into the store.

Called before hand to see if theyre buying shoes. Said shoes have never been worn still in box. After long wait they didnt want to buy them. 😑Store is well organized.

Very cute clothes but pricey since it is used. It is hard selling clothes here. It’s a waste of time. I would sell perfectly worn once items no holes, yet they would make me wait 2 hours and not buy a thing. Employes usually are talking or ina rush and go through it quickly. I would have the same brands as they are selling and find holes or dirt marks on the ones they sell. Would take my business else where.

Nice resale shop, not a thrift store though. The clothes are good quality though, you can tell that they take their time to choose the clothes they buy from people.

I have been patronizing this store for years. Recently had the worst experience with the manager Yasmine. Buffalo Exchange is my new place to shop. Always slow at processing items that you bring in to sell 3 hour wait really?? This store needs faster processors because this will discourage your customers from selling items to your store in Rockville. The store in Annapolis is great and fast at processing your items that you sell and buy.

Had to get a quick dress for a family photo shoot and found a beautiful blue semi formal dress for only $10 or 12! Looked like itd barely been worn. Was very pleased. Husband wasnt so fortunate, as their mens section leaves a bit to be desired. But for womens clothes Id def come back. Huge selection & shoes!

They sold an item i had on hold. Was told I’d get 24 hours before they put it back on the floor but manager named Yasmin doesnt seems to care about that. Never had this problem before until now.

I went to this store for the first time with my bestfriend. We were not greeted at the door, which I thought was because we got there half an hour before closing. There is selection including name brands however we felt like a lot of things were overpriced. It was not 8pm yet and we were already getting stank faces from the employees and plenty reminders that they were closing. None of the employees were helpful nor sweet. All rude and to themselves not even a thank you at the end. Not coming back.

Lots of good name brand selections. Very small plus size selection. Dont expect a lot for your trade ins, look at it more as getting a discount on your purchase rather than making a lot of money.
