I was recommended to Japanese Motorsport by a friend when I was having oil leak issues. John was so incredibly helpful and was able to take a look at it the same day. I made an appointment the next morning and by noon, my car was ready to be picked up. A few days later one of his office staff Athena followed up with me to make sure everything was running smoothly. Outstanding customer service!! They have definitely gained a returning customer! 😁

They did awesome jobs on fixing A/C and replacement with good affordable price. My second service for transmission services it went really well. My car was able to run properly.

Ive used Johns shop many times and will continue as long as I am in Austin. Service and value of this shop is hard to beat. Great family owned shop what has stood the test of time. Support our local Families and their businesses! You wont find a better shop in the round rock area! Plus you get to see some great cars at his shop, like the shop owned 71 Mustang that has been reconditioned like new and has been in his family since new. Plus he has customers with some really awesome cars that are there from time to time. John always has a minute to talk with you and seems to know everyone. Great place!

I was having problems with my windows not rolling down and needed an oil change, so I took it in. John and his crew was wonderful, not only giving me my usual excellent oil change (only they seem ale to reset the indicator light on my dash whenever I get an oil change), but he also fixed the window problem. It seems that my cars memory needed to be reset, so he fixed the problem without charge. I trust that I will get the right service at a reasonable price and I will continue to use Japanese Motors for all my auto service needs.

My niece came down on a road trip from VA and was sideswiped during the road trip. Obvious body damage, but we were concerned the car might not make the trip back if there more serious issues. John and his guys checked it out, verified everything was fine and charged the minimum amount for labor only. Incredible. She indeed made it home safely and Im forever grateful for the check up. We drive all the way from the Bastrop area to take our vehicles to Japanese Motorsports. We used to live near there but moved a number of years ago. There is just no comparison for dependable, fairly-priced auto services and repairs. Its difficult to find an auto repair place you can trust, but these guys are it.

Japanese Motorsports has been great for the last 4 years that Ive been going to them. Theyve always handled themselves with class and professional behavior and Im happy to count myself as a regular customer.They are always competitive on pricing and very understanding of the needs of their customers. Even if theyve quoted a certain time and amount for a job and they run over, theyll eat the cost for that service.The only services they dont provide are tire sales and inspections, but they do most anything else.A big part of todays new world is that of the coronavirus, and they handle it relatively well. The reception person (who was John Shay, the owner) had a mask on, and all of the transactions were contactless. There was no splash guard separating the reception from the customer, but the counter was big enough to have six feet of separation. The counter also had sanitizer ready for any customers that needed it.Would recommend this place for auto maintenance for any vehicle and not just Japanese manufacturer, but they do specialize in Japanese manufactured vehicles.

I have done business with John the owner for many years. He has repaired all sorts of issues from a/c, emissions, to timing belt service on several of my cars. He is transparent and very fair with his pricing. He is one of the few shops that I recommend to friends.

I reached out to many places for a quote to replace the O2 sensor on my Subaru, either they quoted me high or were just impatient to answer my questions in regards to the quote. However Japanese Motorsports, were a pleasant surprise in how they (John) handled my queries and quote. Not only were they patient over the phone, but made me feel at ease when I got to their workshop. Very professional, polite and were very reasonable in terms of cost. They were ontime to complete the work on my car. While I hope my car doesnt end up needing a repair soon, but if it does then Im sure to reach to JM first. Thank you John!

Very happy with their customer service, I needed a driveline issue resolved, John gave me great advice and even helped me find a used one on the area. They basically made 0$ on helping me but they have made me a fan. I normally do my own car maintenance however I can’t do everything. I will be returning here when I need service I don’t have time, patience, or abilities to do my self. Thanks so much John.

If i could leave less than 1 star i would. i had my car towed to this location when it started acting up. i knew it had quite a few problems already. they quoted me $7000 for total repairs. my car ran just fine and although the damage was not cheap it was nowhere near $7000. i then had my car towed to a reputable auto shop in austin who fixed everything for less than $3000 and proceeded to walk me through everything including every which way this place was screwing me. before having my car towed, this location charged me $200 for diagnosing what was wrong but failed to mention this when we talked over the phone several times. im incredibly disappointed considering this place was well recommended. definitely do your research and get quotes from other shops before coming here and paying over twice the actual cost.

We recently had our truck in for repair. They diagnosed the problem and did the necessary repairs within a days time. The work was excellent and the price more than fair. We dont have to use them very often but when we do we will take our vehicles to them.They are friendly,know what they are doing and treat your fairly. I was unable to get a dealership appointment for a check engine light. Found Japanese Motorsports on the web and gave John a call who said when do you want to come in!He was able to diagnose the reason for the check engine light and found no issue other than the software in the care needed to be updated (Manufacturer service bulletin). He referred me back to the dealer - but knew as I left that there were no issues with the car other than needing this update.He seems to work well with the dealer as when I told them I had taken the car to Japanese Motorsports and got the diagnosis... they said - okay - we know what to do and trust what John had detailed.While waiting for my car at Japanese Motorsports, I heard John helping many customers over the phone, providing great advice and understanding of what was going on with their cars.I got an oil change and will be back!

My husband took my car in on Saturday afternoon around 2 pm to have my drivers side wheel bearing replaced and within 2 hours it was ready to go after being test driven to make sure it was working great. The lady at the front was so nice & made us feel very welcome and comfortable leaving our vehicle there. John (the mechanic) came out to give us a brief explanation of what he had done to fix it. Once I got into my vehicle I could immediately feel & hear the difference. No more loud embarrassing humming noises coming from my car. We will definitely be back here again for any future services my Honda will need.Did I mention they are very affordable as well? :)

My sons car broke down at 3:15 a.m one day. So, I called my son-in-law who always raves about this mechanic for their address. We asked the Wrecker company to take my sons car to Japanese Motors. So the happy part begins, even though my sons engine was blown, and the repairs would be too costly, I want to say, Mr Shea (John) was extremely helpful and honest. He had my sons car checked, gave me the information, and didnt charge me one penny.They were able to find the problem without running a diagnostic test, and he was honest about that. : ) Then, if that wasnt enough, I wasnt able to contact towing companies, or didnt remember to til late in the day. (had a busy day at work) So, when I called him, he said, No worries, I understand. We were busy too, you can take care of this tomorrow. Wow, I found me another angel on earth.
