We are in town for the Formula 1 race, as are a few hundred thousand other people. As you can imagine, visitors to Texas from all over the world might be interested in a new pair of authentic cowboy boots. Well, Allen’s was packed wall-to-wall. That did not stop us from receiving personalized service over the course of nearly an hour by Andrew and Noah. They went out of their way to help us find what we were looking for, and my husband ended up buying a pair of Lucchese boots. If you’re in ATX and you’re looking for attentive staff and a huge selection of boots, be sure to stop by Allen’s.
This place is the real deal— you walk in and its a dizzying selection of boots which range from classic ariats to really unique finds. Theyre all organized by size which makes it easy to peruse the huge selection. The staff are super helpful and patient and will give you all the advice you may need. Most boots are at least a hundred dollars. Just a ton of options, well lit, big mirrors and wide aisles. This is the place to get boots!
Second time here! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE SHOPPING HERE. Their boots can be pricey but GOOD quality and UNIQUE variety style of boots. I almost didnt find a pair, they had some that were nearly 1G and I couldnt afford that. I found some Corral for $149! Unbelievable! I almost didnt notice them. They remind me of a WONDER Woman/Captain America style with a feminine, slight sparkle. Very satisfied. I really thought this place was permanently shut down because of COVID. So glad they came back. Ive noticed with cheaper shoe places the leather conditioner is expensive. 20 bucks for 8oz. Allens boots only charges 5 per bottle but you pay more in their boots. And I use it on my hybrid leather seats!
Received my boots 2 days after ordering!Having smallish foot size makes it a bit difficult and found Allens Boots had the 7.5 I had been looking for (Ariat Roughneck). It was a Thursday morning I ordered them, Saturday they were at my door (Spring Texas), and awesome notifications and updated from Allens on the ordering process! I was willing to drive to Austin if needed (always worthwhile going to Austin anyway) but had them in 2 days. So great customer service, fast shipping, and definitely won me as a customer. Next Austin trip, definitely stopping in at Allens Boots!
There is no greater wakeup call than when you walk into a store that permeates the awesome smell of leather. Row after row of beautiful boots and leather goods in every size possible. Parking was a bit of an adventure in the front of the store, but worth it to get in. Prices are pretty steep, but they have a great selection.
We had so much fun shopping for hats and were complimented so much that day out...my boys and bought really nice hats and so did our friend who is a local. This place has selection on boots apparel and accessories as well. Plus super friendly service.
Huge selection of boots and most any western wear. A bit pricey for the threads but a neat place to browse.
I’m from Texas but don’t live there currently, and Allen’s staff (Doug) has gone above and beyond with my orders. They call me and email me with help, truly a 5 star staff. Also when I went in person growing up it was the most exciting experience. There is no other boot store with this much variety. My favorite place! :)

The selection is amazing! The staff is so knowledgeable and always making sure that you know everything about the boots you are looking to buy. They have everything from affordable boots to your high end fashionable boots. The shelves are always very organized and you will always be able to easily browse their selection. I wouldn’t go anywhere else to buy boots. Allen’s is the best in Texas.
Wow best inventory I have ever seen and the service was amazing. When you walk in ask for Nanette. She is a seasoned veteran there and is highly knowledgeable on all the inventory. She will give you honest opinions on styles that do or dont suit you and I appreciated her fashion sense. My husband had a hard time finding the right hat on his own and when she took over and helped him she found him the perfect hat in less than a minute. The store itself is very attentive to its shoppers. If you want a great experience then ask for Nanette. Her customer service was exemplary.

Purchased a very fancy and expensive hat (along with some fancy and expensive cowboy boots) and the gentleman who worked with me convinced me to buy the hat by shaping it more to my liking using a steamer. He said that it would hold the shape that he gave it, and that if ever I wanted to reshape it more, I could always come back and they would do it for free. I went back to Denver with my new hat and within a couple of days the shape was gone. So the next time I came into town, about six months later, I brought the hat with me so that it could be reshaped. The young woman at the front counter said that this type of hat does not hold a shape and actually that there’s no way to shape this hat. In fact she tried to tell me that they didn’t even sell that hat and implied I was lying about buying it there — until she looked up my name and number and sure enough both items were on the receipt. Of course, that young man who helped me no longer worked there, and as 6 months had gone by, there were no refunds or exchanges, not even a “we’re sorry,” actually. Which as we all know, makes a difference. Won’t be shopping there again — or referring my friends anymore.
Outstanding and friendly service, we popped in there while walking down Congress for a little AC and a break from the heat and left with an awesome pair of boots, awesome experience!

Tons of hats and boots! Amazing selection
This place is massive and will likely have a pair of boots to suit your taste. They have regular cowboy boots as well as short booties. The staff here are very helpful but follow you around too much asking if you need help with every pair of boots you pick up. There are some boots on sale but some prices are around $300-$400 a pair.
I have never seen so many cowboy boots in one place. It felt like a forest of trees. HUGE selection to say, nonetheless.

Such a cool place to stop into! For someone whose not from the state this store embodies everything I imagined Texas to be. They are covered wall to wall in cowboy boot, all different colors and price points and have a section for cowboy hats and gun holders. This store is definitely a must see for tourists.
Really great service, super depth in product, fair prices. I’ve been in Allen’s Congress Ave location twice this Fall and Winter. Boots are really personal, don’t self inflict on this one, get some expert advice from the pro’s at Allen’s that speak boot fluently.

The best place in Town - Austin Texas to buy Western wear from boots to belts. I buy a few belts which I’m enjoying wearing. You can find here the right boots or belts for your children for you or just if you want to make an rememberable present.The personal is very kind and helpful.Great place.
I stopped in today (March 23rd) in the middle of the pandemic. NONE of the staff were wearing masks, and some of the customers were not either. An employee helped me for 15 minutes and spoke at me without a mask the whole time. I hope this post encourages the store to enforce a mask policy for their employees and customers, and also likely save someones life. This is the first business I have been to since the start of the pandemic that has not enforced masks.

An excellent place to find beautifully crafted boots and hats. The prices depend on the quality and style, and are reasonable depending upon your selection. We were able to find a nice, good quality black straw Western hat for our friend visiting from Norway. I felt the $50 spent was worth the price for the hat we purchased. The customer service was excellent, and the sales people went out of their way to help us find the perfect hat for our friend.

My sister and I stopped by looking for a pair of boots for her. While we were shopping around, the salesmen offered to help us get the right fit or order the correct size if we couldnt find it. We quickly found the perfect pair and a very helpful salesman cleaned and polished them up before we checked out. Every time I visit my girlfriends family in Texas I contemplate buying some good old fashioned cowboy boots. Just like the ones I used to wear as a child when I walked around pretending to be Garth Brooks. Today I stepped in Allens. Initially I had no intention of going to a retail outlet and had planned on going shopping at a thrift shop. I know how expensive boots can get. I was sized and directed to he aisle with all the boots that would fit me. Didnt think I would find something in the range I was looking for. A lot of boots are 500 and up. Saw a few over 2000 dollars. But if you look hard enough there are several 200 dollar boots. Some on sale with with original sticker prices of 400 dollars. Anyways I got a beautiful pair of Ariats that I am sure to get years of use out of. So Thanks Allens. Also big shout out to Ryan the sales associate who helped me.
What a friendly and knowledge group of guys and gals to help you whether its your first pair of boots or your last. They know what theyre talking about and have a great selection. Not just for SoCo tourists, its a favorite of local Autunites too. I love to just go in and get a shot of tequila and smell the leather...
I have bought hundreds of boots there. I needed to return the boots I bought 3 days ago and they said I wore them out. He humiliated me. Never shop there. I will never go back after 45 years of being their customer.
