New to the area and they accepted my insurance (EyeMed), which not all do. Nice, kind and knowledgeable staff & doctors. New machines that aren’t scary or puff air at your eye. I like how they are upfront with the costs of their services and what insurance will and will not cover. I appreciate the clarity — pun intended. 😉

No waiting, got right in, all 3 professionals that took care of me were friendly, professional, and informative. The facility is nice and the location is convenient. The doctor was especially friendly, explained everything she was doing, what she saw, clearly clarified my insurance, both vision and medical. I highly recommend!

The team is very friendly and professional. Its been a few years since I had an eye exam. I was surprised at how advanced their technology is. No more eye drops to dilate your eyes. Exam was thorough and everything explained to me did I understood. Even had help picking out frames that look good. Great experience.

Quick and easy. Friendly staff. Parking is a little iffy for first timers, you have to park in the parking structure south of the office for validation parking.My appointment was with Dr. Chang. Very insightful. Very professional and easy to talk to. Has a welcoming demeanor.

I just had my first appointment with Dr. Chang and she was great. She was very polite, very intelligent, and explained all my eye concerns to me. The tech I saw was also very friendly. The staff was pleasant. The building was clean. The glasses selection was suitable. All good. And I was able to make an appointment online which is always nice.

They have amazing technology that showed me the coolest pictures of my eyes that I had never seen before. I was seen so quickly and treated so politely. I loved their frame selection as well!

Thank you to all the staff of The EYEcenter, 2831 J Street, Sacramento, CA! has friendly and helpful staff. I hadnt been to an Optometrist in over 6 years. I was hesitant to go, being unhoused everyone judges you, and people have only one category to place you into. Homeless people are considered trash, and there are the homeless that are trashy and leave a lot of garbage, and are dirty and smelly. There are some that have jobs, dress nice, have bills and pick up after others and themselves. I made an appointment explaining the I was given a voucher for an exam, frames, and eyewear at Loaves and Fishes, the areas main center that helps the homeless with items needed for everyday living, a hot meal, etc. The folks at EYEcenter treated me like royalty all through the exam. Afterward, I got a text asking if I was happy and satisfied. When my glasses were ready, my appointment was made and I was greeted as I walked in by my name. The young woman was polite and knowledgeable while fitting my eyewear. She double-checked to be sure the glasses were snug, not right, gave me a page to read to make sure the prescription I had was correct. Told me that if I need the eyewear adjusted or if the lens got scratched or broken I should call and the EYEcenter would help fix the problem. I give two thumbs up, and a 10 Star rating! Thank you

Everyone was great accept for the older lady who answered the phone. The doctor was very good, as well as the front desk personnel. However, when I was running 10 minutes late I called them to let them know and the lady told me I had to reschedule. She was very snarky since I can’t use the b word and made me feel awful for being 10 minutes late. I did not listen to her and just showed 10 minutes late and was helped right away with open arms. I’d go back again.

Ive only had positive and professional experiences with EYEcenter on J. Street. The whole staff is friendly and informative. There is a nice selection of frames. I recommend anyone looking for a good eye center to check them out.

Everyone from the front desk to the frame sales rep was professional, kind, and followed COVID protocol extremely well.There was time given to ask questions, bring up concerns, and in general learn more about eye health/care. Frame selection was easy and they didn’t try to upsell me on special coatings. The whole appointment and glasses purchasing took 45 minutes and I would 100% recommend this place to everyone who needs an eye exam.

Great experience here, as usual. Checked in promptly, practiced social distancing and had my glasses fixed in a jiffy. Even offered a new lens cleaner and cloth.

Finding new doctors is always a hassle and I am so happy that I didn’t have to search endlessly for a new optometrist when I moved to Sac. My first visit here was seamless with exceptionally friendly staff. Every COVID-19 precaution was taken in the office: mandatory masks, temperature checks upon check-in, diligent sanitizing of clip boards, pens, equipment, and their frames on display between patients. Dr. Mikes was thorough and helpful during my exam, as were the staff who helped me pick out new frames afterward. Walter was so patient while we tried frame after frame until we found the perfect ones. Thank you for the positive experience!

Fast, easy service. Not overbooked or overcrowded. Workers sanitized everything before and after I interacted with the eye testing devices. Very state-of-the art equipment. Knowledgeable and friendly. A+ would go again.

The services and staff are fantastic. Buying glasses is not a quick process for me, I have had my face now for 59 years and like for it to look just right and the Technician who assisted me Wednesday October 28 at my 420 appointment helped me to get new glasses, and took the time to tune up my old glasses. Excellent and attentive service every time I have an exem, if you are not receiving examinations from the Eyecenter your look is not complete.

My regular optician’s office is closed due to Covid. My experience at EyeCenter was terrific. Not only did I get a comprehensive eye exam but Dr Lee also took the time to talk to me and help me visualize my eye health on a computer. It was a very educational experience.I received my glasses in a little over a week and really like them. The assistant also helped put my lenses from my old broken glasses into a replacement frame so I have a backup pair.Highly recommended!

It was the best eye exam I had. The Optometrist Dr. Mikes listened to all my concerns. My entire family will be switching over to Dr. Dr. Mikes.

This was my first time using a retail/storefront optometrist and eyeglasses provider (this will be my third pair of glasses). I like them. It went well. Good prices. I do think its a little too complicated finding the right/best frames available in stock...Id organize it differently, but wasnt that big of a deal.

Contacts are ordered, benefits utilized, FOLLOW THRU with the customer service I have read from other reviews.TLDR: reason for the one starThis is an update from my previous review that was made after my appointment on Nov. 20th, 2020. After my visit, I was sent a text reminder to review my experience which was stellar and I was very happy with the service. Fast forward to Dec. 14th, 2020, I did not receive any word in regards to my contact lens trial pair. It was not ordered by the staff until I called in to see the status. The office receptionist told me that the reason why it took so long was due to my prescription strength. I called the bluff by visiting the office and confronting the employee about the transaction near the end of my exam. I was told that order are placed in the same day of the exam. I also understand that it might take a reasonable 3-5 business days for an order to be placed. I waited 3 weeks for a response. I asked the employee when the order was placed, and the response was the same day I called to follow-up. It is near the end of 2020 and I need to use the benefits before year end. This 3 week lag time is completely unacceptable. I can understand if the order was prefaced with the pandemic, my prescription strength and normal turnaround time, holiday and PTO. I was happy to write a great experience review immediately after my visit. I cannot wait for a MAYBE with trial pairs and the complete order because effective dates, year end dates, and insurance language seem to rigid in that regard. If I was told I can be given the prescription and order it myself instead of having an employee go, OOPSIE I would have done so. I looking forward to having more automation in the future and happy to have a platform to share my polarizing experiences.

This is a great place if your looking for professional eye care. The moment you walk in there is someone there to greet you and process you with absolutely no waiting around. They get you in and out without cutting corners. The receptionist has you fill out a covaid form and checks your temperature to ensure everyones health will not be jeopardize during this covaid pandemic . I could go on and on but will sum it up by saying I look forward to next weeks scheduled appointment.
