I love this place. I’ve been a patient here for almost 20 years. I think my first doctor was Takahashi. Then I had Sakamoto. Now I see Dr. Noh. They’ve all been fantastic doctors. Very thorough examinations.I love Dr. Noh because she explains everything in terms I can understand (i.e. reasons why we should take our contacts out at night!). When I leave, I feel I have a good understanding of my eye health.The ladies in the office are wonderful and helpful too. I can order glasses and contacts and they’re fast, friendly and knowledgeable. And in the midst of a pandemic- they’re totally on top of their game.Thanks Sac Optometric Group!

I have been going to Sacramento Optometric for over 20 years. I had previously been to other eye doctors, but Sacramento Optometric is the best that I have found. They have all the latest technology and equipment. They are competent, professional, thorough, and friendly. I was very pleased with my recent visit with Dr. Noh. She was very thorough, pleasant, knowledgeable, and answered all of my questions. As always, my eye exam at Sacramento Optometric was a very positive experience. Its also nice that I can get my glasses at the optometrist located right across the hall.

I have been seeing Dr. Sakazaki for approximately 20 years. He does a great job. The staff are very helpful. I like that they have the machine that can check your eyes without dilating them, so I can go right back to work - it costs a little more, but its worth it!

We bought glasses for my son and received them just before leaving for a family trip over the holidays that involved us being together with all of our kids and grand kids (they live in other states so getting the whole family together is a rare occurrence). He went down with a severe headache at the start of the 7-day trip and we couldnt figure out why until 5 days in he thought it could be the new glasses. He stopped wearing them and headaches went away, right as we prepared to part ways with everyone.In returning the glasses, we were told that about 30% of patients whose lenses are from the supplier they used for my sons glasses get headaches. It shocked me that they would a) continue to use this supplier or at a minimum b) not tell patients this up front when giving them the glasses. Had the latter been the case, we would have figured out very quickly what was causing his headache. Instead, we were left to guess on our own. And he ended up missing out on this most precious family time. We even had to cancel an important family religious event we had planned because he was down with the headache.In fairness, SOG did refund our out of pocket costs for the glasses but did nothing to acknowledge the impact their practices and lack of information had on our family time together. Learn from our experience- find out which lenses theyre giving you and the known, associated downsides.

The optometrists here are incredible friendly, thorough and professional. On top of their outstanding service they provide, they have a top notch selection of frames. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a new optometrist.

These folks are pretty much always on time and unfailingly polite. More importantly, my doctor (Sakazaki) is very thorough, as I expect the other partners would be. They also have a frequently updated group of tools/machines/tests to evaluate vision, about as much as many ophthalmologists have. On my last visit, I mistakenly arrived an hour early, but they were able to start some of the tests fairly soon after my arrival and get me out in a reasonable time so I didnt have to turn around and come back later.

Three generations of our family have been happily seeing (no pun intended) Dr. Sakazaki for over thirty years. He is a consummate professional with tremendous interpersonal skills. I moved 45-60 minutes away, and still continue to use him. Thank you for all your great work!

I can see clearly now... the rain is gone... I had one of the best experiences here at Sac Opt. Group. Never Google diagnose yourself! Dr. Sakazaki examined my eyes and knew exactly what all my symptoms were as I struggled to put them in words. His Opticians were so easy to work with and they were very knowledgeable of their various roles. Just got my glasses yesterday and cant believe how bad my eyes really were. This place is great. Ive had a couple of eye emergencies and they have taken really good care of me. Ive never needed glasses or anything so I cant speak to that. Exams are quick and thorough.

Although a little out of my way, it is completely worth it for how personable and professional the Dr.’s and staff are. I always get the best recommendations for frames as well. Love going here.

Our entire family has been receiving regular exams and having our glasses made through Sacramento Optometric Group for well over 25 years. We have watched the technology, the staff, and even some of the doctors change over time but the one thing that has remained constant has been the quality of the service we have received. As some have pointed out, the practice and associated shop are small but they are quite competent in filling every diagnostic, appliance, and support need. The doctors were even able to identify an extremely rare incidence of breast cancer metastasizing into the fluid of my wifes left eye, something rare enough that the doctors at UCD Medical Center requested that all of their residents be allowed to view for the sake of their training. You may find bigger, you wont find better.

Hoping the office would schedule my annual appointment that would work with my schedule, each visit I remind them of my time constraints.However, I think they just dont look at that request...even though they had a full year to schedule my appointment, they could not honor my request.When they scheduled this years appointment, it was obvious... I called to let them know that I could not make that appointment, they told me they cancelled my appointment because they did not hear from me. That was two days before my appointment.Then trying to reschedule, they could not get me in for another 5 months... they said they would call to try to get me in before... I am still waiting...2 months...Love the doctor, but not so much his office staff.

Very poor service. I have been wearing contact lenses for 20 years and never had a worse service in the past.New patient with Dr. Gallardo-Chang because they had good location - two blocks from my office.First appointment for a comprehensive eye exam on 2/23. after the exam, I was told by the doctor to schedule another appointment with her in a week or so to try the contact lenses. However, I found out from the receptionist that the doctor will be on vacation for two weeks starting 2/24 so there is no way to get an appointment in a week. The earliest one available for me is on 4/13.Subsequently they charged me additional $31 for contact lenses trials but only gave me 26 days supply and asked me to wear my old glasses or contact lenses for the other days (a total of 22 days) when no supply was provided.I asked them for prescription so that I can order the contact lenses on my own but was told that the doctor wont release the prescription until after the second appointment on 4/13.Extremely disappointing experience!

Pros. I have been going to this optometric place for years. I have always had great service, with a smile. I am so surprised to see that someone had a discourteous experience.I had an eye emergency and they fit me in right away. The schedule has always been flexible, somewhat.They are always busy, so must be doing something right.Cons: Selection of eyewear and prices. Prices are ok if you are looking for basic reading glasses covered under the States insurance. A discount is offered for multiple purchases, but it still adds up.I will continue to go there for my annual exam.
