Went above and beyond to help solve our water problems. Quickly provided a competitive quote for a solution. Plumber who performed the service was extremely knowledgeable and professional!
First class company. If you cant fix it they will, cant find a part they will. I have never had a bad experience at Remers. They are awesome.
I recently called around and got several quotes to replace my water heater before it failed. Remer was a bit on the high side but Greg convinced me that he was giving me the best water heater that they had available. I got quotes around $1,100-1,300 from several different places around town. Remer quoted it would be around $1,500. I chose them usingThe Good-Better-Best Approach to Pricing. You get what you pay for. There is a delivery fee and they also charge $6.50 a mile that I was unaware of so I knocked off a star.
Very happy with my experience with Greg and Doug. We already had a tankless water heater, but it was not sufficient for our needs (couldnt handle to flow rate (gpm) in Michigan winter). Talking with Greg we agreed that the Navien unit was far superior to the unit we had, and would meet our need. Doug did the work, which turned out to be a little more complicated than originally anticipated, and he did an amazing job. He was thorough, meticulous, and clean. I am very particular about things, and the way he ran the pipes made me very happy. It took a day and a half, but weve now got a tankless unit that can handle all of our fixtures, at the SAME TIME, with no issues. No, prices are not the lowest in town. But you get what you pay for!
Excellent to work with, mark and his crew are top notch and always go out of their way for us!
Great professionalism, great service!Competitive prices and top notch service. They came out same day I called and I got a competitive quote right away. Tech worked nonstop all day to get furnace replaced. So glad I chose to go with them. Will definitely be recommending them to friends and family.
Hot water heater took a breeze and needed a new one over the weekend. Spoke with owner Monday, by Monday afternoon the new hot water heater was installed by 1pm. The owner took one of his plumbers off an existing job and sent him to my house to get the job done quickly, professionally and correctly. Can’t say enough great things about this company and their staff. Highly recommend Remer.
Greg was very helpful and super quick when asked for a quote for a new AC unit. Within 1 day I had a detailed quote that was very competitive with other local businesses. I also had Remers quote me for an addition of a Halo LED. Between talking to Greg and researching this product, it was a no brainer to have that added. Especially this day in age with the unpredictability of COVID and other like viruses looming. The install was just as quick and simple as I trusted them to do the install while I was away. Matt and Christian did the installation of the AC and the Halo LED. When I got home, there was no evidence that they were there other than the new units were installed. They were very good about cleaning up and leaving it better than when they arrived. They even let my dog out so he could use the bathroom. They asked first.I would not hesitate to do business with Remers in the future. Great people, great service!
Remer handled the installation of a Navien tankless water heater in our home. Greg worked with me to figure out the best location to place the water heater, and the installation was completed in a very professional and timely manner, especially considering we had lots of activity in the house. Were very happy with the service and product that we received.
They were able to repair my water heater burner unit by installing a new thermocouple. The charge was under $25. They told me they could not get parts for it because even though it was manufactured by Rheem, and they are a Rheem dealer, the water heater was badged GE and sold by a box store, possibly Home Depot. But when I told him the problem (pilot would not stay lit), he looked at it and said he did have a thermocouple that would fit. He didnt guarantee it would fix the problem. It did. Very good investment of time and money. Thanks for being willing to help me!
I recently went into the parts area where I needed a very specific component of an older shower. The gentleman who helped me was extremely knowledgeable and patient with me! They knew exactly what I needed and gave me a few very helpful tips! Highly recommend!
Called Remer for frozen pipes. Serviceman there for 2 hours, plugged in heat tape, cleaned hot water heater pilot. Pipes frozen again next day. Serviceman there for 4 hours, not able to come up with a solution, left with pipes still frozen. When I got a bill for $843, I called to ask if they could compromise a little on the 6 hour labor charge. Manager Dave said no, and if I didn’t pay the full amount he would send the bill to collections. BELIEVE all the bad reviews.
Greg and Doug took great care of us. We received a timely and competitive estimate. They were able to accommodate us quickly. Now we are set for winter. Thank you to the Remer Plumbing team for taking such great care of us.
Remers just completed a bathroom remodel at my home. They installed a new Sterling shower unit. The crew did an excellent job. I am thrilled with the quality of their work. The job required removing an old shower unit with three sides a base and a top. As a result extensive drywall and trim work was required. The crews workmanship was all professionally done. All new water pipes were installed as well as a new drain pipe and trap. The painting crew also did an excellent job. The shower unit area was primed and two coats of paint were applied in that area and over the entire bathroom. A new shower door and fixtures were installed. The Sterling unit installed has caulkless seams which was a selling point for me. The job was completed in the time frame that I expected. The crew showed up on time and they cleaned the work site daily. Remers has a nice showroom which displays many of the units available. The staff was informative and was helpful in answering my questions. Their costs were competitive with other firms. I would highly recommend them if you are considering a bathroom remodel.
I just had them replace my corian kitchen sink with a stainless steel farm sink and new faucet. There was quite a bit of modification required to fit the new sink into the counter top. The replacement sink looks great. The people are very helpful and professional.
Great customer service!
Great service, you definitely get what you pay for with this company. They use top appliances and pay attention to detail when installing, they do a wonderful job. I was very pleased with the service and the work done by Matt. I would recommend.
Bought a Zoeller Pump
Believe all the poor reviews!!!!! They are true! This company and the owners of this company have ZERO INTEGRITY!! Remer did not fix my heating problem and are still billing me for hours of service where nothing was done and called me a liar. The owner did not believe that someone else fixed the problem. I was fortunate to find a highly experienced licensed heating guy who found the problem almost immediately and fixed it in less than an hour. Do not call Remer!!
Great company with great employees. Any help, advice, parts, service have all been top notch. Ive always been able to get someone out the same day Ive called. I cant believe these other reviews, Ive always been treated with respect. Remer is not cheap, they never claim to be, but when you want the best service and peace of mind that the work is done right, Remer will never disappoint.
I would highly recommend this company to come out and do service for you I put a request in for a service person to come out today on Wednesday because my hot water heater and my furnace were broke they sent a gentleman named Rory out who was nothing but professional and kind he did a great job and he got the job done and I would truly recommend this company anytime. It has been a very long and stressful week and I cant say enough about what high-quality and happiness I had with this company if you need repairs give him a call
Workers were very professional. On time everyday. Did the job just as laid out in estimate. We had a tub/shower replaced with a shower enclosure. They did an excellent job.
Charged me almost 500 dollars for being at my house for less then an hour and to fix a 1/2 inch 90 degree piece of pipe. I looked up the cost of the piece and it was only 4 dollars.I saw your reply to my review. I have the bill saved on my phone I can upload it if you would like to see it or email it to you.
UPDATE: look at their reply to my comment. This is not how a good business treats their customers. There us a good reason this business has a 2.3 star review. Stay away.Update 6 months later. Also my second opinion was actually a great independent plumber. The reason my boiler was sooted up was not a malfunction or damage but because I had a washer and dryer in same reason creating a vacuum. Now that I know, no problem ever since.Charged me 112.00$ just to come out and look at my boiler and not do anything. Spoke with technician and I was told my boiler was shot and needed to be replaced. Got a second opinion, they CLEANED the boiler and it was perfectly fine - running like a champ.
The guys are at the front desk or very knowledgeable and help me out tremendously thanks guys...I had a furnace problem.....
Over priced
Doug from Remer was very professional and efficient. We had several issues he worked on and was able to find an affordable solution for all of them.
Stopped into state st office to get info on replacing furnaces in commercial complex. I stood there waiting as the woman at the desk completely ignored me, after what seemed liked several minutes I just left. Im sorry to bother you guys, but even a simple acknowledgement or a just a moment while I finish candy crush wouldve be been nice. Very rude customer service
I believe this is a very honest and professional company. From the reviews I have read, and responses from the office/owner, I can see that those who have negative feedback were under the impression that they should receive top notch service at the lowest price. Service companies always charge the first hour of service just for coming out, which is always explained. When a service technician comes out, it is taking time to do so, time he deserves to get paid for. Some jobs are faster/easier than others, and others are time consuming and difficult. I dont see why anyone would condemn a business because they didnt show up on time. And there are always unforeseen charges, parts, warranties, etc. The quotes are an eye ball figure, not an exact price. Basically what Im trying to say is, those who are leaving bad reviews to stay away and even hoping to put a good company out of business are childish. They clearly had issues due to their own misunderstanding of how service companies work, and the expenses involved with quality work.
Worst company in the area. If you do business with them youre making a mistake. Also, the comments from the owner make him seem deranged and completely clueless about how to talk to people. You cant judge someone by how they treat people who like them. Anyone can be nice to someone whos nice. You judge people by how they treat those who dislike/hate them. This owner has personality issues and obviously isnt mature enough to run a business. Hes rude to his customers and overcharges, and has an excuse for every bad review. Will never do business with them ever.
Have used them multiple times for plumbing. They did excellent work, were kind and professional, honest and fair. They were quick at coming over to do repairs too.
The previous owner of my home had Remer plumb water lines that had been damaged and install a new dishwasher. They installed the dishwasher incorrectly. Even though the dishwasher was installed 6 months ago, I ran it for the first time and realized the drain was piped incorrectly. It was brand new when I bought the house and ruined every dish and piece of silverware in it. I called them and they would not fix such a trivial error under warranty. I do not recommend a company who will not fix their errors especially one that requires minimal effort. If they cant run a plastic drain from a dishwasher correctly Im not sure Id trust their other work. Also they missed two damaged pipes when they fixed the burst water lines causing a large mess in my laundry room the day I moved into my house. They clearly do not check their work sufficiently! In response to the owner, I am not reviewing the wrong company as Remer put a sticker on the dishwasher with an id number on it. The person I talked to did not ask for any information and said that not work is warrantied after 72 hours.
They charged me $629 just for the installation of a Bradford White Defender water heater that was free under warranty when they quoted me between $300 and $400 (which is already high). Their justification was that I didnt have to pay for the water heater so it still cost less than buying a new one. Part of the charge was $150 for an hour and a half that the plumber was not even at our house. Another $30 was for filling out a warranty form that took them 2 minutes. At first they told me the water heater was no longer under warranty, I had to get a hold of Bradford White and find out for myself that it was. Then I had to call Remer back and convince them it was still warrantied and give them the number of the Bradford White warranty department so they could verify. Apparently they didnt even bother to check to see if it was still under warranty. On top of all of this, I had to go get an $85 permit that they didnt get and were going to charge me an additional $150 for. I called them twice trying to resolve this and both times they were condescending and rude in their description of the charges and would not budge. This experience was terrible and I will never spend another penny at this company.
Called to have them fix my bath tub that was leaking into my basement and the fixture needed to be replaced completely. The technician called his boss in my livingroom on speaker for my quote. So these guys are paid by the hour right... the technician then left my house for nearly 45 MINUTES (on the clock) for parts (that he apparently did not have in his van FULL of parts)... when he was finished i paid for my services in full with cash and got a receipt that my services were paid... in full. 2 weeks later i discover that my bathtub is still leaking into my basement (just as bad as it was before) and i get a bill in the mail for $40 more bucks!!! I called them about the bill and the leak... their statement to me was i was outside of my warranty and somehow, someway I have to pay $40 more dollars than the OWNER quoted on the phone that they cannot explain to me... so i explained that im not paying the $40 cause that was not the price i was quoted and the work was shotty... so the response was to send me to collections... over$40.
I have had to call Remers on several occasions for my disabled father. They have always been courteous from the very moment they answer the phone to the end of the job. They have always explained everything to me until I understand. Their prices are fair and the employees are pleasant. I couldnt ask for more.
Terrible experience! Amy; awful customer interaction / communication! From the front desk to the owner in the back, not nice at all! Placed service call on WEDNESDAY morning, was told a tech would give me a call. After numerous attempts over the phone to get an eta, I walked in on FRIDAY afternoon, to be told were swamped, were short staffed, whens a good time next week (but not Monday)?... no way to run a business. Customer beware!
Friendly family business. Support your local community.
The guy did a good job that is why I’m giving 3 not one statThe part was over priced like 3 times more that online priceAnd they charge any part of the labor hour as full hour $104.00So any small repair will be more that $500
Ive never used this company, but am in need of a service repair now for my air conditioner. After reading these reviews AND the replies from the owner there is no way I could ever call this company into my home nor recommend them to friends or family. Why, may you ask? Because any owner who is purporting himself as professional in conduct as this one seems to be doing here, yet berates his patrons publicly, humiliates them and has no problem in telling them how WRONG they are were/are is no professional in my eyes. I see no humilty, no gratefulness, no graciousness, no apologies, no humble opinions expressed towards the customers who did have nice things to say about you. Only lashing out at the ones who had bad experiences. That Sir, is a huge red flag for me NOT to use your (Remer) company for any of my repair or replacement needs. Thank you for narrowing down the choice today for my repair decision. I am most grateful.
This place was great for me. I never knew they had a parts department for the public and was referred to them by Wohlfiels when they were not able to track down a part for an old (out of business) spigot. The parts guy at Remer helped me with alternate setups for my problem (pipe had no shutoff, located in a crawl space, behind a furnace. A total nightmare) and then pulled one of the plumbers in the conversation. The plumber drafted up a sketch of my issue then advised me of the best course of action to my dilemma. He hooked me up with the right tools and parts I would need then let me know to give him a shout if I had questions or got stuck.I was able to fix the problem and I owe it to the support of Remers Plumbing for making my DIY lifestyle easier. Had I needed the reinforcements I know they would have helped me out without an issue. I would recommend their service and expertise to anyone in the area.
Was overcharged for a service call. Employee was very curteous but forgot to complete job and had to come back. We were charged 208$ for 30 minutes and no tools or supplies were used. We were charged 8$ for materials but no materials were used, and we were charged 13$ for milage even though we are only 5 miles from the business. Called and spoke to owner who said we get charged from the time the service man leaves their parking lot! He was not friendly and sounded irritated that we complained. The worst part is the service guy forgot to do part of the job and had to come back and we were charged for this as well! The owner did not seem to care at all that we were unhappy. Would not recommend this business to anyone!
Have leak. Service call setup for Tuesday afternoon. Took the afternoon off of work. Waited around. No call. No show. Called and they said they cant be out for 2 more days. Poor service. Look elsewhere.
The first time they came out they were great, but then later said they need to come out and finish the project. Once they came back out the plumber stated that nothing needed to be done. So, I did not have them do anything. They then sent me a bill for telling me that nothing needed to be done.
Remer has been handling my furnice and plumbing needs for over 20 years. Sevice is great, workers are honest craftman and cost is fair. Doug was here Monday, corrected a cleared a drain problem, reworked sink plumbing per my request and checked out my furnance. Also told me what needed to be done if I want to put in a utility sink during a remodeling project Great job! Thank you Doug
I had a bad fan and a gotten a 580 quote from another company first and thought i would try Remmer instead. Wish i would of read the reveiws first! When i called the parts man acted like he was doing me some favor and was rude and uninterested. He quoted me around 300 to install. The repair man was struggling to put in the fan when he broke another part. I was charged 104 dollars for him to go get the part he broke ! The part new was over 200 so he made me one ! I feel that should of been replaced by them with the right part they broke. My bill came to around 530 dollars and when I complained nothing was done ! I payed my bill and told them I would be leaving a bad reveiew but they still didnt care. I WILL NEVER DO BUSSINESS HERE AGAIN !!! I hope all these bad reviews either makes them be more professional or just puts them out of business !
$275, to have them come out to do an estimate, They were there 45 minutes. One of the things that stuck out the most, was the guy said its not much of a house lol. Yeah well we dont all want giant mortgages pal. They quoted me $5000 to do the whole house. Sorry but I had another quote for 1/4 of the price, thanks for the rip off price tag. I wont be using your services or be recommending you to others. When I called today, I got a rude lady on the phone who told me they didnt have my invoice from a week ago up yet due to 4th of july yesterday lol. Weird, this has any bearing on work or Im sorry a quote done a week ago. What kinda company charges from the minute they leave and come back to their business. how do I know they didnt stop for lunch along the way or to fill up their van. I dont, later :(
WORST COMPANY I EVER CALLED.. THE WOMEN ARE TERRIBLY RUDE OVER THE PHONE AND THEY MAKE U FEEL AS IF YOUR ASKING THEM TO DO U A FAVOR..STAY AWAY...SO UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!!!!!
Would like to know when this company is going to stop answering their phone as if youre interrupting their lunch hour. No urgency whatsoever to find a solution to your issues. Awful customer service!!
Helpful down to earth service
Very helpful
Rory came out nearly immediately in response to our emergency call regarding the boiler system in a hostoric Bay City home. He immediately knew what to check, how to trouble shoot the problem and solve the problem. He had heat through out the home in 4 hours and found an electrical issue that he will reyurn to replace the part and double check the radiators. A true professional!
Was overcharged by about seventy five dollars. The plumber before he left told me it would be about 125.00 dollars. Did he think I would forget what he told me. Why do people take advantage. Will not do business there again.
Negative experience with Remer Plumbing. I would not recommend them.
Great company easy to work with!!
Absolute worst customer service, they care very little for their clients......if you have a plumbing emergency, GOOD LUCK...they also have a constant annoying attitude on the other end of the line and they overcharge for everything....I agree with the other comments, the worst AC/plumbing business in the area....will never do business with this company again!!!!
Wow
First used Remers to install new tub with jets. This past week they replaced a faulty thermostat. They were prompt as it was really getting cold in our home. The repair technician was knowledgeable, informative and efficient. We highly recommend this company.
