Surprisingly good, they have a set price on vehicles, my research showed it to be mid- range. But fair seeing the shortages of cars currently. They interduced options for warranties and finances but didnt push it. Only short coming was corporate practice of only having one set of keys to give. Brad Wiles did a great job.
The best part about hertz is the competitive pricing. The bad part is everything else. The manager was good in most ways but the sales guy was a real drag until we wanted to buy the car. One thing you need to know is that hertz sells there cars when they are about to need replacement parts that wear out. Everything seemed good of course until shortly after when we need new breaks, new air filters, next to no coolant, and it even came with a dead battery. I’m not sure how they did such a good job concealing the battery problem but at the end of the day we were able to get a high interest loan (>:/)on the car we wanted at a price nobody could get close too. Many pros and cons that you have to weigh out yourself. But when you know what you want and it’s in your tolerable price range, your going to get it regardless. Just expect an addition $1,000 needing to be spent after you buy here. Or if there are multiple of the same car you want then inspect each one really well until you find one with the least visible problems (easiest thing to check is cabin air just look up how to on that car and then check it, if it’s filthy like ours, it will smell almost dirty smoke but if it’s that bad know that there are other problems they arnt maintaining since that’s the easiest thing to change). Love the car but I felt like I was cheated in some way. What’s odd is that all there sales places say they are closed until further notice... makes you wonder

I recently bought a car at Hertz. I had the best experience buying a car all because of Marius. When you go in to explore, ask for Marius! Marius patiently worked with me for over a month to ensure that I was getting exactly what I wanted. I test drove several of the same model of car until we found the one that was in my price range and I felt comfortable buying. Marius was great at communicating to me about new cars that had come into the lot. He was kind, considerate, and not pushy. Marius wants you to get what is right for you. I came in knowing the exact make and model of car I wanted. He never once tried to sell me on a car I didnt want. I set up multiple times to test drive cars and Marius was always flexible with my schedule and helped out quickly. I cant say it enough, ask for Marius. The next time I buy a car I hope that Marius is still working there because Im going straight to him!
Terrible experience. They did not work with us at all and we were there for 7 hours and barely got out with the car we wanted. Treated us poorly due to our age. Sent our plates to the wrong address and then would not help us get new ones. We had to pay to get new ones on our own. When we called to get help with the plates they hung up on us. Very bad customer service. I will never recommend anyone get a car from them.
Worst place to purchase a car at all. Horrible sales people. Gene was entirely unhelpful, made us wait for a very lengthy period of time to talk to the one finance person there, while other people were allowed to cut in front of me.After this experience, I can understand exactly why Hertz filed for bankruptcy. Go anywhere else you can to purchase a vehicle.No surprise that there are a significant amount of one star reviews. Customer service is trash, sales people are trash, and they dont value peoples time. For societys sake, hopefully Hertz is gone for good in the near future.

The store easily found and even though they were busy the staff made sure we were comfortable and assisted. We selected a vehicle at a great price and were able to drive it and ask questions without feeling pressured. Their computers were slow that day so the process took longer than we hoped but overall I would recommend going here if youre looking for a low mileage car that has been consistently maintained. They offer really good maintenance options. We had good interaction with a lot of the staff but Chad (I think it was) and Lisa were really helpful.

I would highly recommend this place over any car dealer if youre buying used. Pricing is straightforward with no hidden fees. They dont pressure you. Overall it was a great experience and Id definitely go back for my next purchase. I dealt with Marius and Rick. They were great and super helpful!
My family has bought 2 cars from them and have loved our cars. I dont trust salesman, but I trust Marius. Marius referred me to my 2019 Kia which was a better fit and the same price as the car I was wanting to get. Best deal you will get on a 2-3 year old vehicle in terms of expected miles/$, vehicle history, and kbb comparative value (even accounting for the no haggle policy). Because of their no haggle price and standardized pricing it doesnt really matter to them what car you get. Marius was very patient showing us around and let us test drive about 6 cars. They gave me excellent customer service when my Mountain America loan ran into some issues (which was 100% my fault) and gave me options to deliver my car the next day if I felt comfortable with it. I was a little disappointed I had to be assertive with the financier Lisa (as I would be with any financier). She acted hurried and pushed back on me when I tried to ask her to put numbers in total instead of monthly. Certain things that would cost 100s or 1000s of dollars she tried to advise me was small change. Still, best car buying experience Ive had. I will buy my next car from them.
I purchased a car from here, as the price was right. The staff are quite unprofessional, though. While I was waiting to finalize paperwork, a gentleman walked in whose first language wasnt English. He had difficulty understanding why the car he scheduled to test drive wasnt at the location. The Australian staff member lost his patience with him and had him work with someone else. They then made fun of the gentleman on the floor after he left, in front of the other customers.When working out the loan details, the woman I was working with pressured me to fill out their survey while I was waiting and to give them great reviews. I also only received one key to the car. She told me that once I received my extended coverage, I should call the insurance company to say I lost the other key. She said dont say you didnt get it or that Hertz lost it, that you lost it. This seems like Hertz was encouraging me to commit insurance fraud.This was over a month ago. Last week, I still hadnt received the licence plate for the vehicle that I was told would come in the mail. I tried calling twice to ensure everything was properly processed for it. They havent returned my voicemails and the Australian staff member is quite rude when I try to check on it. I will have to work with the DMV on this, as the temp plate, which was filled out incorrectly, is expiring soon.Hertz, if youre listening, this location needs a heavy quality check.
Very poor experience. The car itself was fine, but the salesperson was rude and very pushy, didnt listen to what we had to say, and made us wait longer than necessary. It took over 90 days for them to send us the title and the plates, and then they sent them to the wrong address. They have been pretty hard to work with and didnt follow through with what they said they would do.
I purchased a car in September and had a good experience. However, as part of the car purchase I got a car care plan which was a coupon book that was supposed to come in the mail within 45 days. It’s been 80 days and I haven’t received it.I’ve called on it multiple times with no result. Someone always takes a message but I have never received a call back. One time I did get through to the woman who does the sales paperwork and she essentially told me to keep waiting but couldn’t tell me when to expect it.I will not buy from Hertz again. They have been extremely disorganized and unresponsive.

FYI: this morning I emailed the below message, at the direction of the DMV, to the Utah Motor Vehicle Enforcement Division (including several written exchanges between myself and the Utah DMV) regarding my recent purchase from the Salt Lake City dealership.Hello,Please see the chain below for context.I contacted my dealership, Hertz Car Sales in SLC, on Thursday, 7/23/2020, and was told that they had not received my plates and to check back today, 7/28/2020. In the meantime, I contacted the DMV because the dealership was blaming the delay on them and warned that I would likely not receive the plates before my temporary registration expires (7/30/2020). The DMV stated that they had not yet received paperwork from the dealership; I called the dealership back and was simply told that “the DMV lies.”As directed, I contacted the dealership again today to check on the status of my plates and was told that they had been mailed to me but I should expect to get them about a week after my temporary registration expires. I inquired how they could issue another temporary registration and was told that law enforcement is being lenient on issuing citations for this reason. After pressing the request, I was simply told to call later to speak with someone else to escalate the issue.I have done my due diligence to be within the law but fear that I may be penalized for driving an unregistered vehicle in a couple of days (that I have rightfully paid registration for).Please suggest a course of action,Liberty Lester
It’s been extremely difficult to work with them after buying the car. My husband and I bought a car earlier this year and it was great! We were buying our first car together and they helped explain things to us, they were very patient with us, they weren’t pushy or aggressive and we love our car now. But since we’ve purchased the car it’s been so difficult to get them to help us. We were told we were going to get a second key for the car but had to come back and pick it up. It had to come from the corporate office or something. We were a little put off because we came from 45 minutes away already just so we could purchase a car from Hertz since we’ve heard so many good things but we understood the reasoning. However, we never got a call to come pick up the key. Now it’s over 9 months later, we still don’t have the key and every time we call to find out about the key they just take our name and phone number and say they’ll call us back. Even the manager has done that. We’ve even offered to go get a key and bill them or have them call to pay but no one will give us an answer. I just called earlier this morning and the same thing happened. I’m about ready to forget them and just accept the fact that they’ll never help me. I love hertz and will probably buy a car again from them but not from this location.P.S. same thing happened with the car registration. They were suppose to get the car registered for us but never did. Right before the temporary expired my husband had to go out and get it all done and have them pay for it over the phone. Buying the car was great, everything afterwards has sucked so much. It’s disappointing.

If I could give 0 stars I would. The only helpful person there is David. He was amazing to work with and he helped answer our questions and made us feel very comfortable. David deserves 5 stars. If you go there ask for him. The manager Daniel was rude and made the actual purchase extremely difficult. We had the papers signed and we had to wait for an hour and a half while he worked with other people and barely acknowledged us. All we wanted was to leave with our car!!! Try to avoid working with him.
Bought a car that was under a tree so it was super dirty. When I got it home and washed it, the paint was covered with some type of dried glue. I complained but no one ever called me back. Now, after taking the car to the dealer I learned that 2 of the tires are the wrong size for the car and don’t match the size of the other tires. I also had the battery die less than one week after buying it. They claim to do a multi point inspection, but clearly that is misleading and clearly if they did inspect the vehicle they would have found all these issues, but they didn’t fix any of them. If you buy a car there assume they are hiding problems from you. The response from the owner was for me to contact them by email so they could investigate and get back to me. However, no one ever got back to me. Dont let the response from owner imply they try to resolve issues. They dont.
Daniel Darelli was very helpful, and patient. He took the time to let me test drive about 6 different cars. We got an awesome deal on a 2018 buick encore. Come here if you want to buy a new car at a great price! The finance lady was a little bit pushy on the warranty but I guess that comes with the territory. overall a great experience, would buy here again for sure!
I took my 20-year-old to purchase a car for herself. It was her first time buying a car, as I had bought her previous one. I couldnt have asked for a smoother experience. David was super chill, but professional. He let us have space but would come out whenever we needed anything and was extremely helpful and friendly. He didnt try to pressure us into buying anything and when we were deciding between two models, he didnt talk us into the higher-priced model. He took time to explain features of each model and let us take our (very lengthy!) time test driving different cars. It was an extremely low-pressure, smooth process. And we got a great deal!
Hertz Car Sales in Salt Lake is fantastic. I wanted a car for my daughter and found a 2013 Ford Fiesta hatchback. We arrived at the dealership at 7:45 not realizing they closed at 8:00 PM. They were so chill. Welcomed us. Brought the car out. Had a us go on a test drive and put zero pressure on us to purchase the car right then. We decide to purchase the car 3 days later and again, the Hertz team was so professional. We worked through the paperwork. Claudia took my daughter through the entire car, showing her how to set up the blue tooth, how all the systems worked in the car, it was awesome. I purchased the car in March of 2015 and just noticed a small area of paint failure on the corner of the drivers side door. Called and spoke with the manager Daniel Martinez and again Hertz didnt disappoint. They are fixing the car and providing my daughter with a loaner during the repair. Hertz is going above and beyond! I will gladly purchase another car from Hertz and I highly recommend Hertz Car Sales in Salt Lake.
Daniel Darelli and Hertz Car Sales will rip you off. I bought a car that they didnt maintain. Daniel will lie to you all day long. He will also verbally abuse you if you question him. He doesnt like to be questioned by a woman especially. He has a inferiority complex that is probably why he is a used car salesman here.Car salesman get a bad name and they should with people like Daniel in the industry. His sleazy ways to sell a car, then not take calls when things go bad and then verbally attack someone makes Daniel a top contender for Hertz Car Salesman Liar of the Year.

I had such an easy time at Hertz. I called in a couple days before to see if I could come in and do a test drive, and they were very helpful even over the phone. Many places I called didnt even pick up or call me back. When I arrived, they had the car I wanted to look at and quickly got it ready. David was such a help and made the whole experience quick and painless.
I recently bought a car from Hertz SLC for my son. It was the best car buying experience EVER!! Why havent I bought cars from here before?I found the car and price I liked online. I applied for financing online because it made the process faster. Hertz cant hold cars for buyers and we really wanted the car so financing with them would make sure theres no delay. The car was a popular color and model. I was contacted by Liana, their sales person. Liana really went out of her way to help us, our problem was getting there to test drive the car during work hours plus we didnt live close. She had outstanding customer service! We were really treated well.No pressure, sale was honest, no adding things to the contract without me knowing. Price was online and sale was as they advertised. Entire sale process was so fast and thankfully honest!! No waiting for hours while sales people make up prices and act like they are giving me a deal.My son loves his car. Thanks Liana and Hertz SLC!

Claudia took amazing care of us from start to after we purchased our car. She was very kind and patient with us and treated us like people, not like a sale. After we decided on a vehicle she and Rob, the sales manager, made sure everything was perfect and taken care of. Even days after we purchased our vehicle and noticed a problem we let them know and they took care of it for us.Their vehicles are incredibly well maintained and it great shape. The car we purchased was 3 years old but seemed like it was brand new. Best of all, it came with a 1 year power train warranty! Ive never seen a used car lot offer a free warranty on their vehicles.

THESE PEOPLE CAN NOT BE TRUSTED! They are either liars or have ridiculously bad internal communication, either way they wasted two days of our lives. DETAILS: I called on a vehicle June 19 2019 and the sales rep told us that it was out for inspection and detailing, but if we were the first ones to make an offer we would have the vehicle. Communicated with the sales rep for the better part of two days, was told another person was interested as well, so we asked the sales rep to let us know when the vehicle would be back so we could look at it and be there first. During this time, I got an email from them verifying their policy of not holding vehicles. When the vehicle was ready we arrived just before 5pm June 21st and we were told only then that the Sales Manager, Dave, had indeed held the car two days prior and apparently had not shared this information with his staff. Dave also promised to follow up to help find us another vehicle to consider, but guess what...no calls, no follow up. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THESE PEOPLE.***UPDATED July 12th 2019***I was contacted by the Hertz branch after writing my review (they must have seen it online) and spoke to someone there who handled customer complaints. I explained what happened and was promised a return call, which did occur. Essentially I was told they were not prepared to do anything to compensate me for the time and hassle they put us through. I objected, and let them know that I felt they could care less about how they treat their customers. I let them know that they needed to contact someone higher up in the organization who handled complaints or I would.***UPDATED July 19th, 2019***I did get another call back, and they did offer me a free car rental, which really should have been done a lot earlier, given the situation. I will update my review only if they actually follow through with the free rental, but my concerns about this location violating Hertz company policy, the fact I had to fight with the local branch to get things made right and the lack of internal communication at this location which caused the problem in the first place are all issues that should be considered if you decide to buy a car here.

When it comes to buying a used car, peace of mind and not feeling like Im being ripped off are very important. This place is the real deal. They do not pressure you AT ALL to buy a car. We worked with David and Stan and they are stellar people. I would buy a car from them again in a heartbeat!

Hertz sells its own fleet cars at this outlet.. most of them are a couple of years old with around 40k miles on them. They appear well maintained..but havent really bought one to give the feedback.
These guys know customer service, one was new and learning so it took longer but his customer service skills were top notch and working retail myself I recognized it and appreciate his help. This location has earned my service in that Ill only go here from now on.

Went there to look at the possibility about buying a pre owned car. Their prices were no cheaper than the BMW dealership and I much rather buy at the BMW dealership than from Hertz for the same price.

The sales guy was nice and it was easy to buy the car but the transmission went out shortly after I bought it and I had to replace the mass air flow sensor. In my opinion I think they knew something was wrong with the car when I bought it or that the people they used to inspect it did not do a thorough job. I will not buy from them again and have steered my friends and family away from here. Although I am disappointed with the car I got, I did speak to the manager Daniel and he did take the time to listen to my experience and I am waiting to see if there is anything they can do. He also informed me they have changed their inspection process and should hopefully be better now.
I have been in the market for a new vehicle and found a Kia Sorrento model that I wanted. I fell in love with this car. I had a positive experience at first and everyone was willing to work with me as I am in the process of recovering my credit after a bankruptcy. They ran our credit and we had came to an agreement on price and percentage rate, etc.My husband could not be with me at the time so they allowed me to take the vehicle for several hours to show him. I had the vehicle from about 2 p.m. - 8 p.m. When I returned to the dealership they put a sold sign on it and I told them that we would be back after 5 p.m. to sign all the paperwork and take the car home. We were all on the same page and the car was essentially ours pending paperwork.The next day I went decided to contact my bank to see if it were possible to get an even better rate through them. They were able to give me a better rate then through the dealership, so I called and spoke with one of the salesmen and asked that he fax the bill of sale and contract to my bank. He was very happy to hear that I had found a better rate, as he was there the day before when we were figuring out the rates I would get through the the dealership. He said that he would send it over right away.Moments later I got a call back from the salesman and he told me that the manager, Rob, was angry that I had gone and decided to go through my bank instead of financing with them and had taken the sold sign off of the vehicle and sold it to someone else .Later that day, Rob called me and apologized and said that it had sold and offered to go to the airport to find another vehicle. I let him know that I would not be doing business with him due to how I was treated.Sincerely,A burned consumer
I literally just bought a Mazda5 from here tonight and couldnt have been more pleased with the entire process.After researching cars/dealers for the past month, I had an awesome experience at Hertz and will definitely return to buy my next car there.Hertz was very upfront about about the specific vehicle history and recent 3rd party inspection of the entire car, showing me a full AutoCheck report and complete details of the inspection. I really appreciated the full overview of the condition of the cars I was considering. By the way, the car was only a couple years old, but was really well cleaned and felt practically new. Kudos to whoever details their cars.One of the main reasons I ended up going to check out Hertz in the first place was they had the lowest price for the relative mileage/model year of the car I was looking for. I got Mazda for over $2000 under KBB asking price, even getting a nice discount for being a AAA member. Ya cant beat that!I worked with David, who really went out of his way to make it a pleasant experience for both my wife and I. We were told by the sales rep twice that we would get the car but then he ended up telling us that his bosses chose to honor an off site sale from another dealership over our sale!What kind of a business chooses another dealership over an actual retail customer??I will NEVER go here again to buy a car!
Every employee at Hertzs was so kind, helpful, and friendly. Herts helped me buy my first car, and made the process easy for me. They even found a bank with a lower rate on my loan! I didnt even ask them to do that for me.
I’ve had an amazing experience buying a car from Hertz car sales in SLC. David was very helpful and cared enough to make sure the sales ocurred smoothly. Besides that the sales man are not pushy and the prices are the best I. The market by far! No extra fees or traps in the contract. I’d highly recommend to purchase a car from them over any other dealership in the area.
Very unpleasant experience with the manager his name is Rick very rude guy bad customer service I don’t know how he is manager there. I really like the car. The license plates with them takes longer than what you think like really really long. Please true experience do NOT go there.
Horrible experience. They kept giving me the run around, very pushy people. I ended up going to bountiful Mazda instead and you can definitely tell the difference between a good dealership (mazda) and a horrible dealership (hertz) not only were they pushy they were rude and unwilling to work with me. I finally gave up after a week of running around. Now Im in an even better car and less miles than they had on theirs. DO NOT GO HERE. HORRIBLE DEALERSHIP.
The Hertz Car Sales in Salt Lake City did a fabulous job. The buying experience was hands down second to none. After my son and I went to several Car Dealerships throughout the SLC, and Utah County areas, I was very pleased with my visit at this Hertz Car Sales in SLC, UT. The sales team were very professional, no surprises, no gimmicks. I would sum up my experience as Outstanding Customer Service. I was very satisfied with the purchasing process, but they were next to useless with getting me my plates/registration. They told me the plates would be mailed to the office and to come pick them up, so I called them several days before the temporary plates expired. They informed me that a change in policy had occurred and that the plates would be mailed right to my house. I asked if they could call their HQ, but they said they couldnt as the manager was out of town. I called again today (now the temporary license is expired) and talked to the manager, and the plates have not yet been sent from Oklahoma because they needed proof of residency. I faxed it over and am now waiting for the actual plates. I have no idea why no one was able to tell me this information earlier, and why none of the employees knew anything helpful to get the ball rolling. Great car with a great price, but their employees are clueless. I feel like they were very kind and helpful during the selling process, but after getting the money, they simply did not care.
We found Hertz after weeks of researching to find the right car for a fair deal. We showed up 30 minutes before closing, and already knew exactly which cars we wanted to test drive. Marvin was very helpful, and let us know we should take our time and not to worry about their posted closing time. He was very pleasant and most importantly was not pushy at all. With such a big purchase, I hate to feel any pressure, and we loved working with Marvin. It also helps that they have a no hassle, take it or leave it price so you dont feel the pressure of having to negotiate. The price was more than fair, and well below what other dealers were offering for older cars with higher mileage or with wrecks, and KBB showed the deal was a good one. They show you the CARFAX report right there, and Hertz seemed to have a very high standard for the cars they will sell from their rental fleets.Anyway, we decided we wanted to buy the car, but all the banks were already closed. Marvin told us there were no holds allowed by policy, but that he would make an exception and hold the car for us until the following day. Again, super impressed! We went back the following day and the whole process was painless and efficient. He told us in advance everything we needed to come prepared with, and it was exactly what we had been told to expect. They also give you a weeks worth of free Hertz rental credit to use!Overall, a smaller, low-key dealer with fair prices and good cars. Marvin and the other sales people were awesome to work with, and our car is great! Would recommend to anyone.
Gave us the run around with financing, horrible experience working with them. It’s a joke I’d tell anyone not to waste your time with them. They’ll lie to you and say it’s the “best” they could get when they’ve put the wrong information down.
Sadly this location isnt very courteous and caring of its customers. Dont know if I will use Hertz again

Horrible customer service. Put me on hold for an hour when they told me the wait would be 10 minutes. So I walked there, and continued to wait for 30 more minutes. They didnt explain things well, and were pretty unorganized. Unorganized and understaffed is how I would sum it up. Go elsewhere if you have options. 2 stars because they upgraded me for free because of my bad experience.
CLAUDIA IS AWESOME!! We came to look at a Chevy Equinox we did not like, and she instinctively told us to drive a Ford Edge Limited even though it was out of our price range. She just knew from our conversation what we were looking for in a car, and said just drive it!, and she was dead on right about it. We then looked at 5 others around the valley, and finally realized that first one that Claudia got us to drive was the one for us! She then said Let me go to work for you, and proceeded to get us financing that beat our rate from USAA, and got the payment to closely match what we had originally intended on a lesser car. I brought it to our mechanic who gave me a short list of things the car needed, and she had me drive it down to do the work at their shop for free, and gave me a car to drive home for the night. Claudias instincts are solid, her no pressure no haggle attitude is great, her manager was super nice and cool, financing guy was all pro, and I am considering buying another car from them I am so pleased. AWESOME

I have had nothing short of superior customer experience at Hertz everywhere from Florida to Alaska, but to my absolute surprise, just wasted 1.5 hours of my and my son’s life trying to deal with the sales person and the manager at this location. One star perfectly summarizes my experience.
We had a very shady experience with a Jeep Wrangler here. Showed up and the milage was 1500 over the listing and the undercarriage was covered in mud. The sales manager was also incredibly rude when negotiating a trade-in. Needless to say they lost our business and I cant recommend anyone else work with them.
Great place to rent, especially if you are a member of AAA. Professional, friendly, and they have a shuttle service, too.
I must say I had a pretty bad experience with them. First off, we book a car online and go to the *selected* pick up location to just find out that they overbooked and didnt have any cars with them. No Well arrange for something if you can wait no nothing. Did not expect such an IDGAF attitude from such a reputed company. Not only did they not compensate for our initial cabs fare, we even had to take a cab to their next closest location which was *miles* away. They barely had any good cars, were understaffed with an oddly empty office. They gave us a beatdown Toyota Yaris which whined like crazy when we were driving uphill which got us worried. 3/4th of the touristy spots in SLC are uphill and we couldnt go anywhere with that car. They dont even work during the weekends so we couldnt exchange it or anything. They dont even answer calls! Finally and most importantly, dont ever opt for the prefill option. Theres a good chance you wont get to finish off the fuel and youd have just paid for their fuel. Its just smarter in every way to use up as much fuel as you want and then refuel the car at the nearest gas station and return the car knowing you didnt pay a penny extra. Also, additional drivers need to pay $13 extra per day which I think is pretty stupid when most other rentals give that option for free.

Terrible customer service. Just had the non-pleasure of talking to Marvin in sales. I called to ask if Hertz price matches between corporate locations for the same year, make, model car. Marvin was kind enough to interrupt me no less than five times to mansplain to me that not all locations are corporate locations. After I explained again that these two cars were both at corporate locations, Marvin told me he didnt know what I was asking and asked if our conversation was over. He then hung up on me. I called back to ask why he had hung up on me and his response was, because you asked me a ridiculous question.When I asked for his full name, he refused to give it to me and hung up on me again. All this over a price inquiry. Sure hope Marvin isnt paid on commission.
