This is much more then a coffee shop. It is a nice restaurant in a beautiful hotel. Service was good. Food was exceptional. Pancakes were light and fluffy, bacon crisp, over medium eggs cooked perfectly. Breakfast burrito was well stuffed. It came with home fries, salsa and sour cream. Eat here if you get the opportunity.
Beautiful and delicious cafeteria like restaurant. Cute vintage bar and comfortable seats. A good variety of options for sandwiches, salads, snacks, meals, desserts and drinks.I had a club sandwich w fries and a coffee latte w hazelnut flavor. I will also say that the dishes were big, I only ate the half. It was good. And coffee was delicious.
We were in Salt Lake City at Little America Hotel on an Amtrak vacation. We ate breakfast and dinner here. The breakfast was delicious, got an omelet and banana nut muffins were awesome! Dinner I had halibut grilled..not as impressed as very dry, but the rolls were made from scratch and salad was fresh and crisp. Our waiters were attentive and professional, plus nice ambiance.
My first time here, it was very quaint and I loved the atmosphere! I got the fruit waffle and wasnt amazed with the quality, but the staff was very lovely and attentive. My husband got an omelet with their potatoes as was very impressed! Id happily go back to try other items.
We arrived early, 0700, for coffee and breakfast. We were seated quickly with very few people in the restaurant. We were then forgotten about for close to 10 minutes before going and finding someone to come take our order and bring water and coffee. The food was descent and came out fairly quick. Dont know if Id eat there again just based off of the price but it was good.
What can I say about this iconic Coffee Shop! This is our favorite place to have lunch or dinner when we are in downtown SLC.I LOVE the complete Salmon dinner served on formal dinnerware with sterling silver flatware. Pure class! You start with a cup of homemade soup or a fresh salad AND their amazing hot rolls! The tasty Salmon is served with dill sauce, potatoes or rice and perfectly steamed fresh vegetables. Ice Cream for dessert is also included - I always get the Mint Chip! The perfect ending to a perfect meal. The entire staff is 5 Star and service impeccable. You will be glad you came!Be sure and take time to browse or shop the stores in Little America too. A GREAT assortment of items.CDC guidelines are followed perfectly as you can tell from my pictures of the stuffed animals masked and spaced at the counter! :-)
This restaurant is in the Little America Hotel. A great place with inside and out dinning. Enjoy the outside fireplaces by visiting sooner than later to enjoy before it gets too cold. The service was great as was the breakfast Ham and cheese omelet. The ambiance of the massive murals of early Salt Lake City era make it a truly comfortable and cozy experience.
Normally we come here for the great buffet they have on the weekends but because of Covid things have changed a little. Went to the Coffee Shop for the first time in Sunday and it was great. Great selection, awesome coffee, and friendly staff. A perfect spot for a breakfast stop. I highly recommend it!
The Coffee Shop is a very humble name for a place that has all kinds of great menu selections ina really nice atmosphere. It is really a high end diner with excellent breakfast, lunch and dinner selections. Very friendly staff. The omelets and waffles were really good. I had the prime rib for dinner one night and it was excellent as well. Soup was great. One thing I really liked about the Coffee Shop is that it is open late (11pm) and you can get dinner really late when most other places are closed.
My husband and I love this place. Its the perfect date night location, great atmosphere, great food, great service.
The waitress we had was Kim. She was great, and very friendly. Had a great time, and food. Thx...
Open late, high-end diner food. I have been going here for years and I am never disappointed. Fresh made rolls and ice-cream at the end. Yum
We were seated right away by friendly staff. Its a very nice establishment, clean and interesting paintings on the walls. We ordered breakfast with hash & poached eggs. We ordered our eggs medium with yolk still runny. We received well done eggs with hard yolk. We didnt get toast with our breakfast and the hash & hollandaise sauce was not good at all. The service was worse. It was moderately busy but not slammed. Im sure the service is normally great but today our waiter never brought our new eggs that he said he would have remade. Our food got cold waiting for our eggs & toast plus we were unable to eat the hash because it was absolutely disgusting and we are not a picky eaters. After about 30 minutes with no sign of our server we went to the cashier. They seemed apologetic but only gave us a 20% discount. I was NOT satisfied with that but they would not budge. We are paying top dollar in one of the King Suites for multiple days and this is how we got treated. They should have taken off both meals or at the very least give us 50% off. We will not be going back to The Coffee Shop or the hotel but hope that your visit there will be better.
Turkey club sandwich was delicious, made with real turkey not deli meat. Super clean, I love the classic diner look. The staff was excellent.
A great place to have dinner. I was exhausted after my flight and went down here not expecting a lot but I was surprised. For $25, you can get a three course meal with a salad/soup, a main and a dessert. I had the halibut dinner and it was delicious. Not everyone who cooks fish can do it justice but I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. There were a lot of choices for ice cream as well! A nice end to a good dinner. The servers were nice and attentive, I was seated quickly and got great service. Would recommend for a nice homely dinner.
We wanted to try another breakfast place during our Little America stay, but when everywhere had a wait over an hour we decided to try the Coffee Shop. They got us in so quickly. The outside tables were by the fountains and were well shaded. Both of us got the Chuck Wagon breakfast (one with bacon, one with sausage). I would recommend sticking with bacon as the sausage was just fine. Everything else was absolutely delicious and filling. We couldnt even finish our pancakes! We will be returning or ordering room service from here when we do another getaway very soon!
Decent food.....a bit pricy these days for what you get. Service was not good. He (server) obviously didnt want to be there and didnt care at all.
Love that they have daily lunch specials.Includes soup or salad, entree and dessert.Food was good and staff attentive.Great place to stay. Enjoyed visit
Our visit to the little American coffee shop was great 😁 met up with some friends to have breakfast here after reading some reviews, and we had a good time. We got seated at a table that was too small, so we were able to move to a bigger table. It took a little longer than regular wait times to get our food, but not too bad. I ordered two eggs with their cottage-fried potatoes and a biscuit and it was very filling. My husband got the poached eggs with Holondaise (however you spell it) sauce and he enjoyed them. My friends got the Southwest Omelet and the French Toast and they enjoyed their meals. It took awhile to get our checks and even longer to pay, which is where the 4 stars comes from. That and the price. This place is two $$, which is accurate. The average plate is around $10.99 and above. I dont think that price is reflective of the food in comparison to other breakfast places. Definitely worth a try here, and I imagine lunch/dinner is great from the reviews Ive read.
Little America Hotel Coffee ShopThe Coffee Shop at Little America Hotel Is still really the coolest place in Salt Lake City. They now have a wonderful outdoor seating area with a fireplace. It gives you the feeling of being inside when you really right there on the outside by the side wall protected by a beautiful brick wall with a water fountain feature but seeing it all the happenings on the Streets. The food there was good with dinner packages and they no longer hide your bottle of alcohol in a bag but serve it in wonderfully glasses nice drinks. I haven’t stayed in the ‘Tower’ in awhile but as you walk through the very upscale lobby, you know and get the feeling that this is still the coolest place in Salt Lake City.
The food is always amazing and so is the service. And such large portions.
Food was good. Wouldnt call it great. Burnt bacon. Disappointed that they didnt have steak and eggs.
Good food, took a long time to get everything. Food menu for dinner seemed exactly the same as Lucky H but this restaurant was a lot quieter and appropriate for dinner.
Great atmosphere and great views of the city from street level. I had the Little America Burger that had Swiss cheese, onions, and mushrooms. It was very good, and you can really taste the difference in the wagyu beef patty. Our server, Patty, was so sweet. She overheard my daughter say it was my wife’s birthday, and Patty brought out a cake just before we were about to leave perfect timing nice little surprise.
Classic hotel coffee shop with traditional breakfast fare and all American lunch and dinner menu. Dinner menu includes several variations of a wild Alaskan salmon plate that were excellent. Ate breakfast there all but one day of our week stay and enjoyed every selection we tried. Food was well prepared and service was always great.
Pricey food for just three people staying as guests. Service was alright, but seemed very rushed. It was not extremely busy when we went, but very little attention was paid once food was delivered.
Great spot for grub! Long wait on Holidays but one of the few where you will get awesome food at reasonable prices (considering everyone else is closed.) As long as you have the patience, dining here is wonderful. Crisp salad with perfect dressings, always served on the side. Dinner consist of full course meals, soup or salad, entree, potato, vegetables, rolls, and ice cream for dessert and everything else is prepared as much to precision. It really is a best deal on days everyone has rolled up and is staying home with their own families. Bless these people for being there for the rest of us! P.S. Decorations are also really hard to beat!
Oh it was delicious! I had The American there and the potatoes were so seasoned well! Also, they have think bacon. The coffee its always good here and they offer milk for creamer. My boyfriend had The Chuck Wagon and the French toast is literally french toast slices :P I tasted his ham slice and it was very juicy! The ham didnt have a extreme salty taste for being pork. Also, my boyfriend had two glasses of Orange Juice. I tried it and it was really good! Always nice to eat here :D
I had prime rib and it was great. My wife had halibut and it was odd. My daughter had schnitzel and it was delicious. The chicken noodle soup was fantastic and Im not a fan of chicken noodle soup. The rolls were so very good. And it wasnt that expensive. I had the supervisor on the prime rib it it would have been more, though. Very nice meal except for the halibut. Im giving 5 stars because it was better than 4, but the halibut was the main reason we went, and it just didnt deliver. Had she picked something else its would very likely have been fully 5 stars. Staff was nice and we got a table faster than we were told.
I had the Hot Beef open faced sandwich which comes with potatoes and gravy. It was excellent. My wife and friend both had the stake dinner which the both enjoyed. However, the both commented that the baked potato was cold. The dinner rolls were hot and excellent. A very nice dinner.
Great place to hang out with good friends and good food. Very relaxed atmosphere and dinner comes with free ice cream!
One of our favorite places in Salt Lake. Classic coffee shop atmosphere. Relaxed, comfortable with great food. Beautiful old photos of the city adorn the walls. Their out door seating on Main St. is wonderful. The thing that makes The Coffee Shop one of favorite places though, is the Staff.
The halibut here is always so delicious! Others in my party had the hot roasted turkey sandwich and they ate every single bite! My dad has a thing for liver & onions, and Little America is his go-to for this particular dish. The service is consistently top-notch. Its a little on the spendy side, but certainly worth it. Also, dont forget the bread pudding for dessert!
Little America is always so enjoyable. Very nice menu, everyone can find something they will like, attentive service, consistently lovely. A wonderful Salt Lake treasure.
Food was excellent, prices were within average. 2nd time there. Definitely a place to stop and eat. High suggest it.
Wonderful hot turkey sandwich!! Wifes prime rib very good.We call it linner
Super good food! The dinners come with salad or soup, a hot roll, and your choice of about 5 different ice creams. Service is great too!
Good food. A little bit unique and a bit of a wait. Corned beef hash was tasty though!
I stopped in for breakfast. It was a healthy portion. Friendly service and fast. Moderately priced.
Service was not good. Waited to be seated and was told 5 minutes and 15 minutes later went to ask and they had not cleared the table yet. Sat down and another 15 minutes no server and no water. Went to ask for water and had to clean the table again, still had pieces of prior people’s food on the table. Talked to the manager and then the server showed up, acted rushed, took our order and nowhere to be found for quite a while. Needed a couple things and asked another server. After bringing the food again could not be found to ask for something that was forgotten. Spilled a sauce on the floor, luckily not on us. She seemed unsure of herself and was not up to par on service. Manager gave us a 10% discount. The food was quite good, tomato soup, chicken Cesar salad, rib eye steaks and potatoes and chocolate cake, all delicious and cooked well.
Surprisingly excellent food. I expected blasé hotel food. Was quite surprised at the quality. We ordered a steak and a blue cheese burger with dessert. Try the bread pudding!
Food was cold. Forced to pay 18 percent tip on take out. No dressing for salad. Service let food get cold while we were seated where we were told to sit and wait. Turkey dinner was gross. What was to be stuffing was just a soggy mess.
Weve been going here for quality comfort food for many years. Great prime rib.Comes with a fresh side salad with homemade dressing or homemade soup. The baked potatoes are fluffy packets of heavenliness. The vegetables are always fresh and not crunchy or mushy. The service very good, consistently. And the rolls are the best in Utah other than Maddox. Plus you can get some of their amazing raspberry jam if you ask.The Little America is the #1 best upper end comfort food in Utah.
Good food considering its a hotel. Beautiful building
The prices seem a little steep when looking at the menu, but the portions are positively huge - the pieces of french toast were probably at least an inch and a half thick. Even better, you got a solid amount of remarkably tasty food - good quality components with thoughtful seasonings. The aesthetic call-back to the coffee shops of old with the classic diner bar was a nice touch as well. The place seemed popular with locals, despite being a hotel restaurant.
I love this place. Their dinner rolls are a just Amazing! Their wagyu beef hamburger with fries is so good. It makes me very happy every time I’m able to come here and have lunch or dinner. The staff here are wonderful, very attentive, and they do their best to make sure that you leave the coffee shop a happy customer. Thank you to the staff at the coffee shop at Little America.
This is supposed to be a decent restaurant, except for you order a burger for your child and they bring out a previously frozen, McDonald’s-style, not real meat laden with a plethora of preservatives that you can hardly call food, along with nutrient depleted vegetables that are limp and soggy due to being obviously frozen before serving instead of serving fresh veggies. How absolutely ridiculous. So disappointing. A nice restaurant serving frozen preserved garbage.
For looking really fancy, the food was okay. It was just normal breakfast items that tasted average and I didnt get a ton of food for the price I paid for my meal. The servers were very kind and good workers though.
Good big portion. Jeanne our waitress was great.
Love the food and the service. Went there for my honeymoon breakfast and again last week. Great staff work here
I expected the food to be something to write home about but it was a total let down (Belgium waffles, french toast, liver and onions). Im sure that there are other menu items that would have warranted a letter home. The atmosphere within the old restaurant is amazing.
Amazing!!!! We loved our experience and we loved our food. Liza was so sweet, she made our day!!
My first experience at The Coffee Shop at Little America Hotel was exceptional. Visited for Sunday brunch and was seated promptly next to a window with a great view. The traditional decor and atmosphere is very pleasant. The Coffee was splendid and the cuisine was excellent. I got the eggs benedict and it was among the best I have ever had. The Coffee Shop is an instant tradition.
The customer service was terrible. The food was expensive to have no flavor. It took over a hour and a half to get our food. When the food came the food that was supposed to be warm was cold and the cold food was warm. The waiter was very demanding. Didnt give us time to look at the menu. And when we asked questions he just ignored them
We stayed at little America last month for a week. Found no reason not to just east all our meals at the coffee shop. This place has been consistently good over many decades. I remember eating there as a child and enjoy it’s tradition for a great experience. Looking forward to next week!!
An outstanding though somewhat overpriced menu. Better than Grand America.
Got the crab stuffed salmon and it was delicious. My girlfriend got the cranberry turkey platter and I tried some of it, it was also delicious. Best food i’ve had in a while.
The food is on point but the best thing is the historic photographs on the walls.
My family and I went here for breakfast, and not only was the food AMAZING but our server Miglena gave IMPECCABLE service. She was like a magical goddess showing up with water the moment we needed more and anticipating all of our needs before we had to say anything to her. She magically appeared and grabbed an empty plate out of my hand. Anyway. AMAZING service, AMAZING food, AMAZING experience.
This may well be a Hidden Gem with The Travelers. But the locals absolutely love this fantastic place. There halibut and prime rib are to die for. All my kids love the turkey dinner. All food items are of high quality food. You always can get seconds or thirds on their magnificent rolls. It may be called a coffee shop but is more like fine dining.
Kim service was amazing, also best match potatoes I had in a while.
Great french dip sandwich. I love all the pictures on the wall. Great history.
This place is amazing been going my whole life roughly 2 times a year for special occasions. Loved it as a kid and love it as an adult. Always brings back memories and waitresses are always nice and helpful.
The Coffee Shop is a classic place to eat. It has a historic feel with pictures of early Salt Lake City covered on the walls. I prefer the prime rib meal which comes with a side, soup or salad, and ice cream. Each table is also served delicious warm dinner rolls. Plan on each meal costing $15 to $25. You also have to pay for parking now which can be validated at the restaurant but didnt work for us.
Its a bit of a treat, because for us at least, is a drive. The ambiance and the food are great and the staff is friendly. It is almost always busy, so be prepared to wait a little. Its not the cheapest but all the sides, bread rolls, etc are made in house, so its worth it.
Have dined at Little America for years. The best Cafe food and environment that produces high quality and freshness across the board.
My husband and I each got different meals. Hospital food is better. So disappointed when you pay $28 for a steak that is 2/3 fat and halibut for $24 that was like a fish stick. My baked potato was old and the mashed potatoes were runny and flavorless. The green beans were way undercooked. The rolls and water were fine. What happened to this place? Worst meal ever!
DISHONEST!!!Was treated great by the hotel there was some complications with our room. The manager Andrew credited us and did his best to accommodate. We had a 20 dollar credit to the coffee shop and i would have cared about the money. But our waitress altered our tip to get more money. Thankfully I took a pic of the receipt. Be careful and keep track of your receipts.
The buzz about the place was just hype in my opinion.I wish the food and service would have matched the decora and overall warmness of the space. It was inviting and bright, with nice music playing in the background.Id give it another try because everyone has a bad day. But my initial review not good just okay. The eggs I order over medium, Came out over easy I can over look that not that big of deal! The bacon was delicious. Pancakes I make twice as good at home.. matter of fact IHOP would straight dominate the pancake scene here.
Slowest service ever. We waited over an hour to get our main course and had to ask twice. They didnt seem overly busy. However the food was very good. The waiter was friendly, but never checked to see if we needed refills or anything.
Had a great prime rib dinner after a short wait to be seated. As we left, there were many waiting to be seated.
