Great place to learn how to scuba dive or get any scuba gear. Great staff very knowledgeable and helpfull. We rented some gear for the weekend and had a blast.

Family took the plunge and got our open water certifications. The discovery diving option was the original reason we selected Dive World East. I didnt want to spend the money on the class without doing a test run. I cannot say enough about the staff. They are all patient and explain as much as you need them too without becoming irritated (or at least showing it). Not a single person has made me feel silly for asking questions. When discussing necessities for class they are not pushy at all. They simply explain the options and guide you through getting your personal preferences/needs. The rental equipment we have used has been adequate with no concerns. When questioning aspects of rental vs. owning your own equipment, again no pressure, simply discussions and highlighting pros and cons. Events are held regularly and we have attended our first since being certified. So far not a customer or staff has made us newbies feel unwelcome or out of place for being new to diving or the group. I would recommend Dive World East to anyone but especially if you have kids or teens getting certified. Maddy was just outstanding with handling both kid and parents together for our family and another we also saw her working with. Chad was a super star during discovery diving and made it fun and not at all intimidating.

Two big thumbs up. Chad is a customer-oriented kind a guy. Fair pricing and high-quality rental gear. Our divemaster, Paul, went above and beyond to make our experience a great one.

Excellent experience! We took a refresher course, Paul was so great explaining al the information with details and making us feel safe! And Chad helped to book it and guiding us in the process.

Maddy was an awesome instructor extremely patient and was very thorough in her explications. Chad is awesome, he was really on top of any questions I had. Everyone at the shop is really nice and always willing to help you out. Keep up the awesome work!

Not only did she educate me on something to just be honest I am ignorant in, she literally offered to rent me her own Dry suit. Who does that? My wife and I took an intro to scuba course to see if we would like it. Chad taught us the basics of scuba and took us through the majority of skills that we would do during the open water course. He was very helpful, and patient.We then took the open water course and throughly enjoyed it. We are now customers for life at Dive World. Had it not been for Chad giving us our initial exposure to Scuba and helping us pick out our gear we would have possibly never been able to experience this new adventure. Thank you Chad for everything!

This is an extremely friendly and accamodating place. All of the staff are genuinely concerned about your experience; they made me feel safe and ready to ake the next step. Also, the merchandise vended there is the best value. Since everyone there ARE divers, they are able advise you on purchases. Its always a disappointing situation when you buy some via the internet because you think the price is better then when you receive your merchandise you discover you are not a QUALIFIED buyer. I have few more pieces of gear to get and I have been advised to take the next few training courses. The order has been laid out for me. Im going to be a regular at Dive World Scuba for a long time!

Nice folks and good customer service.

I went in to ask about the certification class and was laughed at. They stated later in the conversation that they had just put together an all inclusive program so I assume they laughed about the fun timing. However I didnt get an apology or explanation as to why they laughed. They were condescending throughout the conversation and asked multiple times if I wanted to buy books for the class after I had said I was just wanting to ask questions. Also Im not sure why I would buy books if the class was all inclusive. Maybe it was just bad timing but I would recommend looking further, there are a few other shops in town that offer all inclusive programs and are much more helpful and friendly. I hope this helps!

Rod is creepy. I nolonger use this dive shop. Go to scuba shack or Duggan dive shop, both are fine if you just come in to hang out and learn from other divers. Only thing good here are the sales reps and the pool. But manager is a creep.

I have been a customer of Dive World for over 20 years and have never had a bad experience. Rod and his staff have always been friendly and helpful. Im very surprised to see the bad reviews but they all look like isolated incidents with one person. As a business owner myself, Im disappointed that anyone can write what they want on Google reviews based on a one time experience. I had ONE customer give me a bad review based on a misunderstanding on his part and he was allowed to trash me and lie and of course google published it. Its not fair. These guys are great, understand they are Scuba Divers and prefer the tranquility of the underwater ocean and are more fond of sea life than people, the few staff that lacked in people skills make up for it in having great passion for the sport.

Chad was friendly and very helpful. Will definitely be returning.

Absolutely IN LOVE with all my experiences at Dive World Thousand Oaks. Starting with my Instructor Bill! He is great! Very  knowledgeable of all the gear and takes the time to really explain the benefits of each one and what will work for you and your body best!  When it comes to the class, he is super patient and will help you work through any issues or insecurities you may have. Never once do you feel discouraged! He makes you feel like you can succeed no matter what! Overall, he makes you excited to dive! I have, since then, kept working on diffrent certifications and enjoy joining on the diffrent dives they have to offer for fun. As far as the shop goes: They treat you like family. They all remember me by name, and are all willing to help with any need or question. Not to meantion they are always super happy and excited to be there. I wouldnt go anywhere else. Dive World Scuba is the place to go!
