Got a suit I needed for scuba diving, fit perfect

Great service, rented some gear to go scuba diving it was awesome, we had an amazing tIme.They have great prices a lot of available equipment.And in these bizzar times its great to have a little escape even if its just in you pool.

I wanted to scuba dive for over twenty years. They practise safe driving skills and push the people they train to follow that practise. I gained my open water certification and within a year if hard work I have a Master Divers certification. They helped me through the process and provided multiple opportunities to dive, socialize and experience the joys of diving. They have the deepest diving pool for training and they helped a lot of people over the years to gained the confidence to take up the sport and overcome the fear of going into the water world.

Although there are few scuba diving places in San Antonio, this is by far the best! I got my Open Water certification here with PADI, and Im still continuing my education to this day. Ive been a customer and an employee here, and its like a family treating you the entire way.Their indoor pool is 82°, so its a perfect place to start before you go into the outdoors. Gear is fairly priced, and the classes are a lot of fun!Try it out!

Dive World West was awesome!! Our family decided to finish our certification at the last minute and they were incredibly accommodating and outstandingly kind about it! From Karen, who scheduled our dives last minute then met us to return our equipment after hours, to Kathy who encouraged us to complete the certification process, to all of our instructors- it was a fabulous experience and I could not recommend them highly enough! Thank you!

So Awesome, So much Fun. Took the class with my wife, we find ourselves in places where if we were certified we could enjoy it much better, so we did... It was easier than I thought more intense and I feel that I have the skills and know how to dive where ever we go. Thanks to everybody at Dive World West, your deep pool is the Bomb. I intend on using it quite frequently.

Great place with 20+ deep pool and even greater people. Cathy runs a great shop with great staff and takes great care of her customers!!! I learned to dive there back in 94 and my kids will learn there too! Weve had multiple friends certified by them too and no one has anything but great things to say about them.

My husband and I decided to get certified after our trip Hawaii. We visited a few dive shops in the area after speaking with friends, whom are certified, and begin the search for a place we could see ourselves being a part of. When we walked into the shop, we were greeted warmly. The shop is well organized and clean. Associates are very professional, knowledgable and personable. We knew this was the place for us. They even have an indoor pool to complete portions of your certification in, hows that for convenience?!Fast forward a month or two, my husband and I finally get a chance to complete our open water portion of the certification. We booked a dive trip in Florida (2 weeks after receiving our open water certification) and were able to put what the instructors at Dive World West taught us, to work. After completing the two dives of the day we were asked how many dive trips wed been on. Needless to say, the group wed just dove with was impressed with the amount of skill and poise we had in the water. They knew that we had just been certified, but had momentarily forgotten that when they saw us in the water. This compliment wouldnt have been possible if not for the fabulous instructors at Dive World West. The two divemasters (who are also instructors) on our trip today wanted to give our instructors kudos for their exceptional work in teaching my husband and I to dive. A big shout out to Tim and Jessie!!

Family owned and operated with lots of friendly employees and workers. They always make you feel like part of the family. Everyone is always very helpful and eager to help you find exactly what you need and want. Lots of dive trips, and very helpful with specialty certifications and other Dives.

My experience with Dive World was exceptional. I did not take my certification class through Dive World, but I did buy my equipment from Cathy at the West Ave. store. The company is family owned and the store fronts are managed by a son or daughter of the owner. I got off work near closing time, but Cathy stayed a half hour past closing to ensure I was fit with equipment properly and satisfied with the chosen gear. She was patient and allowed me to try on numerous masks and fins until I found the particular ones I liked. The prices were the best in town by far and were even better than other prices online. Highly recommend!!

Horrible customer service and dive staff!!! I suppose I dont look like your typical diver!! I walked into this shop looking for scuba accessories. There were 3 men all standing around talking and 1 woman behind the counter talking on the phone.At no point in my visit did anyone acknowledge my presence or offer to help me. No one said hello how may I help. What brings you into our shop today? Not a damn word. Just ignored me completely.NEVER will I walk into Dive World West!!NEVER will I recommend Dive World West to anyone I know!

The staff was so incredibly helpful in helping my wife get past some of her initial trepidation with certain tasks that are required in the open water diver certification. They had her come in a couple hours early on one class day just to go over the challenging parts in the pool.

Bad management

Absolutely phenomenal. Live out of town and getting certified (by a WONDERFUL instructor here...). Went there just to look around. We knew we were going to be getting our equipment (already had mask, fins, wet suits...) - needed a BCD and regulator.Cathy was just splendid! VERY low key. But she was EXTRAORDINARILY knowledgable about every aspect.Their on-site pool was great. They offered to let us try anything we wanted in their pool before considering a purchase. But we pretty well were set with the Aqua Lung stuff she showed us...When we came back (on a SUNDAY when they were CLOSED because our schedule was tight), she and a dive instructor (David) were there! In the pool we went and our equipment was thoroughly checked out (he even put us through some water skills we had yet done in our fifth and final class this week).David was the consummate professional!! Wow. Made us feel VERY VERY comfortable with our equipment!They went FAR, FAR above the expected. They were as eager and helpful BEFORE they knew we were buying equipment from them as they were after we decided.If I could give them TEN stars out of five I would.It is obvious that the negative reviews seen here are written by staff or loyal customer of other shops... pretty pathetic.AMAZING shop! Will send ALL my friends here without a hesitation!!

Cathy and the staff always provide the best service and great products.

They want to have you rent everything and pay for everything individually... I got my certification in 08 in Stevens Point WI for $240 total (they provided all gear). Dive World wanted a total of over $900. It is cheaper to Drive to WI and get your certification over the weekend then to go to this business. Gear wise, they were fair on price and they were very friendly. My only complaint is the outrageous certification price. (Be wary of ratings by people that do not rate anything more then this business. I know a lot of scamers that do that. Out of the positive reviews you can see most are bogus one time reviewers.)
