Really enjoyed the time I spent here! Really talented instrumentalists and lovers of music run the shop. Were super knowledgeable and helpful. Clearly passionate about teaching, have classes available for all levels, beginners to experienced for kids and adults. They’re super approachable and warm and love what they do. I Love the old school sheet music selection available too!
We have had the best experience at Dellview music. The instructors are very knowledgeable but most importantly they are engaging and encouraging towards our children. This is their first music experience and they are six. And we were able to buy lessons and instruments without breaking the bank. Highly recommend
Andrew and Nick are some of the nicest and most genuine musicians and music teachers in San Antonio. My nephew was visiting from Japan in the summer before he was going to start middle school band. My sister (his mom) wanted him to try brass instruments before they left back to Japan. At Dellview, Andrew let him try a trombone and trumpet. My nephew went on to choose the clarinet. Before the end of 2019, Dellview was selling a used but still in great condition Yamaha clarinet. We ended up purchasing and shipping to my nephew. This place is rad with great customer service and a fun spot. They started a live music series that focuses on local talent and some being their students. Check it out if you have a chance.
Great shop and great guys that run it! I enjoyed browsing all the unique and cool things throughout the shop and ended up walking out with a really nice 70s MIJ guitar. Thank you for the pleasant transaction!
Dellview Music Center is an incredibly charming throwback!Located in the Dell Village shopping mall, the store is filled with artifacts and ephemera from its 55 year history, including portraits of guitar students from the 1970s, as well as vintage guitar handbooks, refurbished instruments, pedals, strings, and more. The new owners of this independent shop clearly want to carry on the legacy of Don Pack, a San Antonio pedal steel player and music educator who founded Dellview Music in 1964.Expect attentive customer service and a modern, personalized approach to private instruction. Its also a great place to poke if youre at all interested in string instruments and South Texas music history.
One of the best in town. Prices are fair and honest. Theres a reason why this place is one of the oldest music shops in town. Would highly suggest checking out if youre in the market for something or need lessons.
My family has been Dellview Music customers since I was very young. My brothers both took lessons, bass and guitar, from Don Pack. Im so excited Andrew and Nick have taken over ownership and continue to provide lessons, instruments, and cool musical memorabilia to San Antonio. As an adult Ive been able to take beginner ukulele lessons from Andrew; he is very patient and invested in ensuring I leave the lesson having learned something new and gained enough understanding to successfully practice on my own.Ive also had the opportunity to attend several of the Dellview Little Stage series and have really enjoyed listening to and meeting the musicians they have showcased. The space itself is cozy and inviting and the little stage seems super punk and fun to play on. Andrew and Nick are gracious hosts and really empower musicians to be vulnerable and bold when performing in such a safe listening space.Ive definitely enjoyed the time Ive spent at Dellview recently and look forward to continuing ukulele lessons and attending more Little Stage events. I highly recommend this place to anyone interested.
Thank you again for setting up my electric guitars ! Sounds perfect every time !
Whether you are a serious musician or are interested in learning how to play an instrument, this place is for you! The co-owners are extremely friendly and are both a wealth of musical knowledge. This isnt some giant retail store; this store is locally run and has plenty of heart.Follow them on Instagram!!! Check out their Little Stage Series--awesome musical guests, drinks, and good company!
Dellview Music is a piece of San Antonio history! Nick and Andrew bought the store two years ago from the original owner and have worked hard to keep its history while giving fresh life to the music studio. Their monthly Little Stage Series is not to be missed!
I love this place.
Not just an Alvarez guitar dealer this Ma and Pop music school also has that vintage electric sound and equipment youre looking for, with great prices. Its not hard to get into a great conversation with the two owners, and find yourself hanging out and getting sage advice.--OH--Dont forget to ask about the legendary 2 sided double Face nylon/steel string acoustic electric guitar. They might be convinced to part with it if a musician can wields it mightiness!
Where do I start with these guys? True craftsman. I was pulled into Dellview for a volume pedal that Andrew put up for sale. When I walked in, I noticed they had an excellent selection of acoustic guitars, and I happened to be in the market. I found a Godin a6 that we talked over, and settled on a price for. There’s pictures of it included in the review. I play the Godin almost every day, and it gets better and better every day I play it. Later, I stopped in to get my bass worked on. I had been down a long and expensive road with this bass that I thought was just gonna be a good cheap starter. Basically, I was left with a really good playing, but not great sounding (electronically), bass. They took good care of her and one thing I really liked was their want to fix the problem rather than just slap a new part in here or throw something in that didn’t need fixing. Can’t speak enough to how awesome they are for that! They also fixed things that I wouldn’t have even thought about, but I’m glad they did. The attention to detail was phenomenal and I’m going to head back for all of my future guitar tinker needs. Next will be a lap steel build that I’m hoping to have more pics of. The bass build wasn’t too cosmetic, but the sound was insanely different, and exactly what I was looking for. While I was picking up my bass, I chatted Andrew up about doing a relic job on the Godin. He was very knowledgeable and gave great advice on how to perform the process. It wouldn’t look as good as it does without him. Stop in and spend some time with them, and you’ll leave with something amazing that you’ll cherish. Wether it’s an instrument, knowledge from a lesson, or maybe even a little jam session. These guys are serious about their music and they want to help you get to wherever you want music to take you! Thanks guys!
Bought an old vintage Tele here. Good service and laid back. No pressure.
