I needed a day running light in front for my 2002 Cadillac Escalade. We scheduled an appointment that morning for 2:30pm repair. Cesar was totally competent, friendly, efficient with very rapid and knowledgeable exposure and replacement of the bad bulb, reattached the housing, and I was on my way. Very reasonably priced. Highly recommend!!

Well Ive been here about 4x now (even recommended my BF there) and theyre definately friendly but this last month has ruined my respect for them. Originally they did great work at a great price but this time they had issues for a month getting a simple small part to replace (that they missed in the first diag I did with them). I patiently waited, they said it would cost less and take no time to do. 10min later its 150$ in labor FOR 10MIN?!? They didnt even get the check engine light off! And the price for the part didnt change. Last time I go there. They didnt even resolve the check engine light which is what I went in for.

Quality shop with no malarkey. Routine oil change comes with a nice and clear inspection report. They will tell you what needs to be addressed now or can wait but to be aware of. You can probably find cheaper places, but you wont get as high quality of a job or as honest and thorough of a report on your cars condition.Also they seem to always have some sweet (and expensive or rare) cars around in the shop so thats a good sign of quality work.

Went in for an oil change and multipoint inspection via Groupon deal. They performed the oil change but left some tar smeared on the side of the door (looked almost like a hand print) and didnt bother to clean it. A few days later I noticed the car was leaking oil... I got underneath and found the drain plug was very loose and I had to tighten it myself.I gave this shop a chance since they are close to home but Ill be going elsewhere for future oil changes.

They did a wonderful job on The Chad, my Xterra. They changed the oil quickly and professionally. The location was nice for the wait time too with Leilanis down the street. They also offered helpful recommendations for future vehicle upkeep. Will be going back in the future.

To change the transmission filter and add 2 quarts of transmission fluid costed me $299.03!! Why would it cost $220 in labor to do this job. 😧😟I feel like I was extremely overcharged and it took two days to complete the service.. and no AAA discount, not affiliated with AAA anymore dispite the AAA signs everywhere and being on the AAA approval list. 🥺

First one star review.Saw this on Groupon and thought it seemed like a great deal so I got one for my girlfriend and she turned around and got one for me. Once we showed up they told us that they would only do one car today. Fine, I guess. Then he said that my car requires full synthetic (first Id heard of it) and that theyd have to charge me double. I told him theres no way Im paying $60 for an oil change I just bought for $30 so we left her car with them despite them seeming very put out by having to do it. Then they call us 20 minutes later to tell us that the plug is stripped and want her to pay $376 to replace the oil pan. I happen to be standing in front of another mechanic shop and I asked him what could you do if my plug is stripped he said worst case we could drill it out and retap it, shouldnt cost too much. They clearly didnt want to perform the service they advertise for the price they were asking and were looking for any way to either get out of it or rake us for more money. I have to be able to trust the people working on my vehicles. Didnt find that here. Be careful.

I was in town on vacation and had some engine issues. A local auto parts store recommended a couple auto repair shops, including Cass. They were able to take my truck in right away in the morning and had it repaired and running well by afternoon. They were professional and reasonably priced. Thank you for your help.

Very nice and professional staff. I was greeted and taken care of right away. I got a groupon for an oil change and safety inspection. I made sure to get the full synthetic oil package for my VW Jetta. Great price considering full synthetic costs more than conventional or blend oil. And the safety inspection alerted me to things I need to fix immediately. The list of things sounds reasonable considering the mileage and routine care needed for cars.

I bought ((((Groupon)))) and booked with their website for the day after, I mentioned in the booking note that I bought an oil change via Groupon. The website said that they will call me later to confirm the appointment.Nobody called so I called the day after to confirm, the guy said that because you are not local (28 minutes far) it is better not come, because we made groupon to find locals, and you probably are gonna come once and never come back again.I refunded the Groupon and bought a better one from valvoline, because there are polite and hard workers.

Took my car in for Oil change & Multi Point Inspection on 8/3/2020 and ended up having to remove & replace valve cover gasket & exhaust manifold with job total $1254.96. I received a text repairs should be done by the end of the day if everything moves along smoothly. I replied OK just keep me updated on changes. End of business day no update attempted to call closed for the day. Next morning I called no answer so I texted the number from day before & was told technician was head deep in the engine bay. Received text @ 2pm vehicle was ready for pickup. Walked almost 2 miles in the sweltering heat to pick up car. Asked about the New Customer Special 10% off your first service & was told he could not give me the discount w/o rationale but could give me AAA discount.I then asked where my car was & was told he would have someone go get it parked a block away on Dawes St. I replied since it was just a block away I would just get it myself. I proceeded to walk a block away to Dawes St and could not find my car. I walked 3 blocks in each direction no car. Attempted to call Cass Street no answer . Picked a random street Turquoise St to start walking back to shop and low & behold I see my car parked in front of 1010 Turquoise St. Car was left unlocked; plastic cover still on steering wheel & plastic drinking cup left in drink holder; so much for COVID precautions. Not happy with customer service & the fact they lead me on a goose chase looking for my car!

They told me my cabin air filter was difficult to access and that they couldnt even check it as part of my full vehicle inspection. They recommended I get it changed, and wanted to charge me $42 for parts and labor. It cost me $10 and not even 2 minutes of my time to replace it, so either the technician was incompetent or dishonest. I dont like either option.

I called at 8:30am on a Monday morning because my car was making a screeching sound. They let me bring my car in right away to inspect it. I just dropped it off and told them I wasnt in a rush. Around 1pm, I got a text message with a link to my inspection to see what was wrong. You can see notes for every item they check. They also sent an invoice amount of how much it would be to fix it. I went ahead and called and asked them to fix my rotors/breaks because they were obviously bad. Jay or Jared? I cant remember but it def started with a J helped me out that day. He was really nice and didnt try to take advantage of me in regards to things that needed to be fixed (there was none). Ive had other places try to take advantage of me in the past. His customer service was awesome! I had someone hit and run my car in the past and he gave me a card for a place that could help me. I will definitely use them in the future for any car service. I really like this place. Thank you for your awesome work and customer service!

Came in with a flat tire and no appointment. They were friendly, helpful, and clear. The hole was too big to be patched (they showed me and explained everything). Called and ordered a new tire and sent me on my way in about an hour. Awesome! So glad and grateful to have found these guys.

Could not have been more satisfied with the ease of this local auto shop. I had a flat tire that needed to be patched and when I called around to other shops in the area I received hesitated answers on patching it. Called Cass automotive and they said they should be able to do it and to stop by. Drove over 10 min later and they looked for the screw and patched the tire right then and there. Will be coming here again for future auto needs.

My wife and I have been bringing our car here for years and have always raved about the quality of work and level of service provided. The last time I brought my car in, it was just one of those days. A confluence of one off events outside of the crews control ended with some unfortunate results. Instead of telling me sorry and walking away from the situation, they went above and beyond to ensure that I was made whole when they could easily have refused. Thank you!

Update: its under new management and while it seems on the up and up, it was a little disappointing in that my car was left with the window open in the rain. The staff was nice, but kind of sucks to drive home with your whole car seat soaking wet.Ron and his crew do a great job every time and on time, and they are honest and fair dealing. Thats the best you can hope and expect from an auto shop, and Ive been sticking with them for years. Sadly, they dont do weekend operations anymore due to city restrictions on noise. Makes it a bit more difficult to get in with them if youre busy through the work week. But if your car needs fixing, they have great service and great value and you can trust them - and theyll show and verify whats wrong with your car and what you actually NEED to get done to achieve what you want. Broke and need to just drive? Theyll tell you truly. Want to make sure its super tip-top? Theyll get you there, too. Great and easy to work with. Cant recommend em enough. Number one shop in PB hands down.

Terrible customer service. Took my car for an oil change and they tried to tell me I needed new tires. Took the car to Costco and the guy said I could drive 10,000 miles on those tires. Asked if it was a dealer trying to sell me new tires. Nope it was CASS street automotive. After the oil change they didn’t tighten my skid plate and it was dragging for days. When I took it back for them to fix they were rude and tried to blame it on me. Never going back.

I went to see why my trunk wasn’t closing properly, they looked at it but I did not proceed with the replacement (due to the cost of the part). I was grateful that they did not overcharge me for the labor to figure out the problem, and whatever they did, the door open indicator is off, so it helped. They are fair with pricing and honest, which can be hard to find!

Unknowing that my cars gas tank got punctured the night before, I filled a tank of gas at the arco across the street from the shop. It started spilling out and Randy, the owner, ran over and helped me out immediately. He made it a priority to get me a new tank in less than 24 hours for an affordable price. I scheduled an appointment, and they took my car in right when I got there! They did tell me the problems with my car, but weren’t pushy about trying to sell like a lot of other places.They don’t have a great waiting room but they are close to a ton of coffee shops and restaurants. The mechanics were all super friendly and I chatted with them while they were finishing up my car! All around 10/10 and I would for sure go back.

GROUPON USERS: BEWARETLDR: THE GROUPON PRICE IS A LIE. YOU WILL PAY MORE FOR AN OIL CHANGE HERE, NO MATTER WHAT CAR YOU DRIVE. THEY WILL ADVISE UNNECESSARY SERVICES. THERE ARE NO REFUNDS. GO ELSEWHERE.This is much like the majority of auto shops, they get you in their door with a too good to be true price (“$53” dollar full synthetic oil change), then don’t let you leave until they’ve ripped you off for every dime in your pocket. The oil change groupon the tech told me they’ve now been selling for 7 (seven!) years only covers 4 quarts of oil, and you’ll be paying $10/quart for the remaining oil.To give you an idea of how malicious and unethical this business practice is, the SMALLEST engines in the United States (think 4 Cylinder Toyota Corolla, or even a Mini Cooper) take 4.2 Liters of oil per change. Most cars take 6-7 quarts. Big v8 engines can take 8+. Cass St Automotive knows this. Cass St Auto has ZERO intentions of actually changing your oil for the advertised Groupon price.Cass St Auto plans on making their money upselling you. I know an auto shop who buys it by the barrel is getting those costs under $1/Q. Yet they still charge their customers (who shouldn’t be charged extra for oil they already paid for) $10/Q. YES, TEN DOLLARS A QUART!Instead of selling you a quality oil change at a decent price in hopes you’d be a return customer, they would rather deceitfully offer a price, that they absolutely can fulfill but actively chose not to, for an oil change.To make this worse, I even called ahead and confirmed availability yesterday for this oil change, and asked about tire rotation too. The employee on the phone said they would do tire rotation for $10 additional dollars. I confirmed that this Groupon would cover my Lexus’ full synthetic oil change. I was told yes, and that I would only be charged $10 on top of the Groupon fee for tire rotation with my oil change. (Bonus, they forgot, I never got my tires rotated).When I show up at the cash register, my oil change came out to $53 groupon price, plus $24 for the 2.4 quarts of oil that isn’t included in the groupon price (that’s a 1000% markup on this oil, for you math guys), plus $11 in bogus “handling” fees. Yes, that $53 groupon was $90 all said and done ($100 with the tire rotation), for that price I could’ve been in and out of ANY quick oil change place, without a coupon. In fact, it would’ve been CHEAPER AND FASTER to go almost anywhere else. The fact that they would rather mark up 2.4 quarts of oil by 1000% rather than do the work they agreed to do for the price they agreed to do it for boggles my mind.If this is the way they treat first time customers for an oil change, I cannot imagine what would happen if you came in asking for an issue to be diagnosed. This shop RELIES on you being uneducated about cars. I am confident this shop would charge less knowledgeable customers for expensive unnecessary repairs, and wouldn’t let you leave out the door til they squeezed every last penny out of you.To top this whole experience off, the shop hours on Google Maps are 7:30-5. I showed up at 7:30 this morning to wait outside for 30 minutes, as they actually open at 8. I will let this slide, but the $90 oil change, I will not.On top of all this, the only thing I actually asked them to do besides the Groupon, the $10 tire rotation, was not done, they forgot.Also, 8 miles put on the ODO, I am suspicious they took it for a joy ride too. They at least redlined it a few times. My MPG was 22.0 during pickup, versus 23.0 when I dropped it off.In the end, I wasted half an hour waiting for them to open because their hours on google were wrong, overpaid $23, did not get the tires swapped like I had asked and they said they would, got an extremely defensive reaction from the rep when I calmly called him out, despite the fact that I could back up everything I am calling him out about. I would not trust these guys with my car, and I hope you will not make the same mistake I did.

It saddens me to say that ever since Ron left (as manager), the service and quality has fallen way off. Unless things turn around quickly, we may need to start looking for a new place that offers good, honest and reasonably priced auto service.

Im grateful my insurance company had Cass St. listed as a certified repair shop. My daughters car ended up at Cass. St after breaking down on the highway on her way to school. I live on the east coast and dont know any repair shops by reputation in the San Diego area. After a quick phone call with a diagnosis of the problem and the troubleshooting that had been done I was completely confident that I was getting an honest assessment and a fair price for the work. That is absolutely GOLD in my mind when it comes to finding a reputable repair shop. I will be sure to send my daughter back to Cass. St for any future car maintenance or repair work.

I had never used them before. Took my car to my trusted mechanic and only one of the repairs they indicated needed to be done was required.My advice wherever you get an oil change and repair services are recommended take your car to your trusted mechanic. Repairs are where they make their money.

Stay away from these thugs. I took my car here as I was trying to sell it as the person interested in buying it wanted to have it checked. Ok, no problem. Mind you I had just done a tune up and my engine was in top shape. After taking the car there and then picking it up I walk in into the garage where an employee is finishing with my car I ask him how it looks and he says it looks great. Later, the owner calls me saying that my engine is falling apart. I ask him what it wrong with it and he says it is making a strange sound and that he gives the engine no more than 6 months. I asked him about what tests they did and he says the engine is making a strange sound. I knew right away they were trying to trick me . Very sneaky. They will try to take advantage of you.

Ron is a straight shot. No frills, and will give it to you as it is. I hate mechanics that try to tell you that you NEED to get this and this done, but these guys will tells you the problems and be honest about how urgent the problem is, which is rare to find from a mechanic.

Randy and Ron seem like genuine guys and very upfront and friendly. Appreciate theyre work. Were even willing to work with me on payments if I needed it, which was nice. Brought my car in so I can pass smog and the were able to do so. Part of the $700 expense however, was a $125 charge to clean my mass air flow sensor. 1 day after leaving the shop my check engine light comes back on and bring it back in and they now tell me I need a new mass air flow sensor and it will be another $300 to fix.........If you pay to have a part cleaned especially $125, wouldnt you expect it to work? If you pay for a carwash and you car comes back dirty wouldnt you want your money back? Ultimately I understand they were trying to save me money but ultimately on that part alone, theyre making me spend over double.Dont agree with spending another $300 to swap out a part that, theoretically should have been swapped in the first place. And certainly dont agree with paying $300 to swap out a part I just paid $125 to clean due to my lack of knowledge which deemed it a unnecessary expense.Just something to look out for.
