I love this mechanic shop. I was referred to it by my AAA technician. I had to leave my other mechanic because they were charging really high prices and not doing quality work and taking too long to repair my car. The service was phenomenal, the owner and manager David West is super friendly and professional and prices are very reasonable. I will definitely use them again and for all future repairs on my vehicle. So happy to have found them. Great location to. And they are open on weekends.

I brought in my truck to get my breaks looked at and ended up needing to get a master cylinder replaced. I was very happy with the work they did. They were very busy but super accommodating with my schedule and they even let me use a loaner so I wouldn’t be stuck there all day. Everyone I dealt with was from the service rep to the tech that worked on my truck was very friendly and professional. I will absolutely be back and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend these guys to anyone.

I have so much respect for the managers and staff at Meinecke in Pacific Beach. Dave is so professional, & the entire team represents integrity. For years now, Ive taken my auto there for maintenance & repairs of all kinds, from simple oilchanges & tires to complicated engine & suspension repairs. I know that Ill never be overcharged, the work done will be by experts, the parts will be exactly what is needed, at readonable cost. As a female with only basic knowledge of car maintenance, I was used to having to put up with little explanation of repairs that my car might require, pretty much always. When I started going to Meinecke in PB, that all changed. Over time, I made Meinecke the trusted choice for my car. For instance, most recently I called the garage in the morning, brought my car in in, it was inspected within 20 minutes, & the mechanics showed me the repairs that were needed while the car was on the rack, so I knew what exactly whatvthey were talking about. They gave me a quote, a full days work, a loaner car, & my car was ready at end of day. This was unexpected, & it involved ALOT of work. I noted that many repairs were going on with other owners cars, & Dave & crew treated all customers well, as I sat in the waiting area on a busy weekday before leaving my cherished auto. The estimate was even slightly lower than the original quote. Over time, I have complete trust in their work. My cars have always come back clean, & running so well that I cant tell they ever had a problem. I am grateful to have found this gem of a repair shop. Alwats above and beyond. I have been going to George and David at this Meineke for 5 years so this review is long overdue. I can’t say enough good things about these guys. They’ve always been happy to explain what’s going on and when they think I can get something done for free or at a better price somewhere else (only twice with tire work) they have told me. This shop runs on integrity and their customer service is incredible. If you’re looking for a new mechanic or a second opinion on some work this is the place to bring your car.

Excellent service! I went to get a car I was thinking of purchasing inspected. The mechanic, George, was extremely thorough and walked me through all the pros and cons, and even offered me a discount if I decided to get it fixed. He ultimately advised me against buying the vehicle and paying for the repairs, which saved me a lot of money! Ill definitely come back here the next time Im thinking of buying a vehicle.

George and the mechanic was amazing. My AC went out while driving to California from Arizona and I thought I needed the whole AC replaced. They did a diagnostic and i just needed a charge. They found corrosion on something that was making my fan not work properly in idle and low speeds and cleaned it up to see if that would fix it instead of having to replace the whole thing and it worked. They are honest and try to make sure you are satisfied with the service they provide. They saved me hundreds. I highly recommend them!

As a women who admittedly knows nothing about cars, going to a new shop can be stressful because you never know how truthful they’re being. I took my car in because I thought I might need new brake pads as they hadn’t been changed in awhile. They checked my car, and told me my brake pads actually had quite some life left on them, and the occasional squeaking I hear was just the rotor adjusting to changes in temperature, and not from worn down brake pads. They didn’t even charge me a dime for the time they spent inspecting my car, even though other places quoted a standard cost just to have someone open up the car and check it out. Process was fast and mechanics didn’t try to sell me on anything, I would highly recommend this place!

I scheduled a Road Trip Free Look and free diagnostic appointment for my check engine light. I arrived 15 minutes early. The owner/ manager talked car mechanics to me for 10 minutes, inconsiderate of my time, and did not do anything but walk to the parking space with some small gadget. When I asked him about the road trip free look, he handed me a piece of paper and said this is your Free Look. I wasted my time, I have no answers regarding the check engine light and he falsified the report he gave me saying I declined a diagnostic. THATS WHY I MADE THE APPOINTMENT. When he got to the computer to find my appointment, he asked me my zip code. Then he asked me if I lived in Claremont Mesa, I said NO LA JOLLA. Then he asked me if i Lived in UTC, I said NO LA JOLLA COLONY. Basically, nobody wanted to do the work... thats why I keep talking my car BACK TO MERCEDES BENZ for minor work. They dont WASTE YOUR TIME TALKING.

Ive been meaning to write this review for a while now! I drove to pick up a friend two years ago on a Sunday from Ventura County and I had issues with my water pump. I went to the Firestone near by and they took a look at it and quoted me on the higher end but wouldnt be able to get it done until the next day or the day after! I needed to get back home the same day, so, I found this place, called them, and brought my car over for them to take a look. They quoted half as much and were able to get it fixed in a few hours.The service was great, the people were nice, and they explained exactly what was wrong and what they were going to do. They really helped me out and made the stressful situation a lot less stressful. Thanks!

Brought it in thinking I need break pads but turns out it’s something else entirely so taking it to a place under warranty. These good folks didn’t try to sell me or screw me, just counseled me, and to top it off they didn’t charge me for diagnosis! I’ll be back next time I need one of their services based off their honesty alone. Good people!

Im a woman that knows nothing about cars and have been taken advantage of by other businesses that work on vehicles. It is always very stressful for me to take one of my cars in to a shop. But this time was a completely different experience! There were no surprise things wrong with my car! There were no surprise fees! It didnt cost me an arm and a leg! Everybody was very professional, courteous, polite, kind, and honest! Everybody wore masks and gloves and the business itself was extremely clean including the bathroom! They were extremely busy but still were able to be done with my car around the time that they told me it would be done. I honestly will go back there for all of my vehicle needs. I cannot say enough good things about the men that took care of me and my car yesterday. I felt 100% safe and respected! Everything was explained to me in detail so I understood. I am recommending Meineke to all of my friends and family! I recommend them to any and everybody ! This truly was the best experience Ive ever had with a business like this!

Didn’t tell me they have free towing and me drive leaking brake fluid i could of crashed kept me waiting outside for three hours just to tell me it can’t be done that day and i need to find a ride at six at night once they closed and cut my brake line. They have two customer loaner vehicles brand new Mercedes suvs that weren’t offered even though they promised my vehicle would be fixed that day and to find out i was stranded there at six at night and watched two employees drive the customer loaner vehicles home. My car say the next day and was still not touched . I called corporate made a complaint with no call back or nothing resolved no word on when they were actually gonna work in my vehicle. So i just picked it up went to the nearest auto part store and bought the passes they said was unavailable for five dollars they wanted to charge me $ 116 and have me work out a vehicle for who knows how many days. It took me five minutes to screw the part on. It is in pacific beach in San Diego.

I’ve been using Meineke for oil changes for the past year and it’s been amazing. I started coming to Meineke back in San Luis Obispo, but I can honestly say this location is 100% better. The customer service is absolutely amazing. As a woman, I’m always worried about getting ripped off because I know nothing about cars, but this location made me feel like I had nothing to worry about. I think it may have been the manager helping me out with my car troubles, but I’m not 100% sure. Whoever is was was very nice and trustworthy and made my experience wonderful. I would definitely recommend and will certainly be coming back for my future issues.

The guys at this shop are amazing. I’m from Phx and my car overheated while staying in San Diego. Brought my car in, found out the radiator was leaking, temp housing needed to be replaced, expansion tank and a few hoses. Being a European car it wasn’t easy to find the parts and tools. They went to great lengths to help me, even came to work on days off, being Labor Day weekend. They kept me updated throughout the process. They worked with me on the cost and were very upfront about everything. These guys were a God send. My car is done and I’m headed back home. Can’t thank you guys enough!

This Meineke location offered some great, honest service today. I came in expecting to need and pay for new brake pads and possibly rotors. After a complimentary inspection, they said I didnt need brake work at this point because there was still close to half of the pads left.Some shops would have taken the opportunity to make a sale, but this shop didnt tell me to buy something I didnt need. Honesty goes a long way, and Ill definitely be back when I do need to actually get the work done. Thanks!

Awsome staff there, the people that I dealt with were very knowledgeable and customer service was awsome. Theywas able to find the problem that other shops couldnt. I also liked the fact that they even showed me the issue and why it wasnt working correctly. I highly recommend them.

The guys here are incredibly knowledgeable, reliable, and honest. I’m lucky I live so close! I had a couple minor fixes on my car and they inspected it free of charge and in a very timely manner. Dave and George were awesome! They were very, very helpful in helping us deal with a major unexpected expense. They presented us several different options on how to address the repairs necessary. George even came in and worked on our car on New Years Day. Dave presented us with the option to finance all or part of the repair if necessary. All in all the guys at Meineke went above and beyond and really took what could have been a major set back and made it manageable.

I took a used car for a prospective purchase to Meineke for an independent inspection. And within an hour, I got a detailed report for the car, which helped me make a buy decision. George explained the report in detail & willingly provided some negotiating tips. In addition, I called him a couple of hours later to get further clarity on the report & he was more than willing to discuss & make suggestions. He showed a keen interest in the outcome of my purchase process. I would definitely recommend this center.

I bought a car in LA and I was driving it back to Colorado where I live and herd some noises. I googled these guys and decided to have them check it out. It sounded like the muffler. They carefully checked the car over and found all the tires needed air, the muffler was bent and my front brakes were down to nothing. George’s shirt said manager he was a great guy and easy to deal with. I would of guessed he owned the place. I ended up getting new brakes and rotors. Great price too!!! They fixed my exhaust and aired up my tires no charge. I am truly thankful for Gorge and his team. They could of took advantage of me being from out of state and they did the opposite!!! Hello. I would not recommend this location. I was trying to get an alignment. They were nice enough to schedule an appointment, but when I showed up the machine was broken. They said they would call me when it was fixed, but no word from. The older white man at the front desk also walked away from me mid conversation.

So quick and easy. They didn’t try to sell me on any other service or try to tell me my car was due for anything like most places do. They were done faster than they anticipated. 22 minutes for an oil change is great!

I’ve be a repeating customer here and every single time they have been professional and helped me understand what is wrong with my vehicle and found a affordable solution for me.

I was getting a tune up and rear breaks and first thing James does was question me on who said I needed breaks and rotors done wi previously. Then he quoted me at $127 for a regular sparks tune up and then hiked up the price to $179 when he asks which spark plugs do you want the “good quality” or regular sparks?! Then, when it was time to drive off I had a check engine light on and other car signals that should have never been displayed. When I questioned James and the mechanics, James answered and says, you had a misfire. When asking him what that meant he says you brought it in like that. Wrong again James!! I then refused to leave until they fixed the problem. The mechanic apologized for placing in my car a defect spark plug by there own company. I hope all this get processed so where no on has to go through my experience. Never coming back again!! Nor will I ever recommend this Car shop!!

I have been having a problem with ABS system on my Honda Pilot. My regular mechanic doesnt work on ABS so I called around and these guys said they work on everything. Basically I brought it in there waited 45 minutes while they hooked it up to a scanner. Mind you I had already told them I had hooked it up to a check engine light scanner and nothing happened. Same thing happened here...wasted my time and told me I had to come back on Friday when they had a expert with a better scanner that can look at the car..... Wow thats confidence!!! George and John were very nice.... But so are all car mechanics at first!

I got a good deal versus Pep Boys and they did a good job as far as I can tell. They could improve their non existent lobby but they gave me a car while they worked on mine so they get an A for sure.

Brake job on our minivan went well. Fast efficient and reasonably priced brake job.

Have gone there for certain things for years. Wildly dishonest shop. Have tried charging 300 for freon, 300 for a brake job, list of other things so long Id have to try to remember. 600 to replace a valve on an engine that was obviously failing and did a 2 weeks later. The mechanic pulled me aside and told me not to go with the owners advice because my car wasnt going to last another month and it didnt.Newest one was that prius dont take conventional oil. Hope the extra ten bucks was worth it. Not as smart as you think you are. Enjoy the review.

This was my 1st visit to Meineke. I went because an oil change was less costly there, than Mossy Toyota, where I usually take it.Though George told me the coupon I brought was for a basic oil change & my 2005 Prius needed a higher grade oil, the cost was still a good amt less. The service was done promptly, though I took longer at lunch nearby.I had no problems on my drive to Vegas, felt safe w/ the service, & got better gas mileage overall, even at 77 mph average! I’ve entrusted Econo Lube and Tune with my car repairs for about 8 years now. It’s nice to have a good relationship with your mechanic. George is the best front of house guy there; although Eric the owner is pretty nice to. They are timely and always give you the best price they can. I drive down from Ramona because I trust them and that means a lot.

I took my 2006 Cadillac SRX to Meineke on 30 January 2020 due to shaking and Engine light. After a diagnostic, Codes indicated misfires. Recommendation was to replace the 4 Camshaft Position Sensors.Meineke did not informed me of the higher cost of the parts used to repair my vehicle. Meineke charged me $124.99 per sensor. Average factory cost is $65 - $70. Other after markets range from $25 - $60.It was not until after the repairs were conducted and i saw the cost for the parts that I asked why it cost so much for the parts when factory parts were half as much that I was given the explanation. If I had not asked, Meineke would not have told me.Answer provided by Meineke was that I was charged more because the regular parts distributor used by the store did not have the part stock so it cost more to get the part from a third party and that cost was transferred to me.Meineke misinformed me. That is UNPROFESSIONAL and DECEITFUL . It is NOT the LEVEL of CARE I am accustomed to receiving from Meineke.I was not provided the option to rescheduled the repairs for when the parts would be available or go to another shop for the repairs.Meineke was not upfront or honest before the repairs started with informing me of the higher cost or the reason for the higher cost.I have Been a loyal customer with Meineke for about 4 years and this is the first time I felt like I was taken advantage.I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED

Excellent service real good group of workers

I called on a Sunday to ask if they could check my AC. I was told yes and I went in. They looked at it briefly and the guy said I needed a new compressor. When I asked how they came to that conclusion I was told that they had switched the relay with no affect therefore I needed a new compressor. I asked what other diagnostics they had done and he said that his regular AC guy was out and they didnt have the right tools, but he really thought it was the compressor and can we make an appointment to get it done.Honestly it was pretty obvious that he was trying to con me. It ended up needing an AC pressure switch and thats it.

Following is a copy of the letter I sent to meinekes corporate website 2 weeks ago:My son lives in San Diego and my wife and I were visiting from our home in Gilroy. Decided to have my sons car serviced for him as a birthday gift and also because he had not found a place to have regular service done. Made an appointment online online ahead of time.When we arrived the manager who checked us in seemed to not be able to find our appointment but said he would get us taken care of (as a walk in). He appeared to be very busy trying to organize a busy service day so I gave him the benefit of the doubt. Said it would be at least 90 minutes. Had no other transportation so sat down to wait. Had scheduled the oil change package which he showed me a long list of things that would be checked as well as the full synthetic oil and filter change. Specifically asked to check brakes since was told they were getting a bit worn last service (at another meineke). 30 minutes later he came out and said they were done. I said wow, that was quick, and asked to go over the service check sheet. He stated EVERYTHING checked out normal and I dont get to say that very often. My guys get paid to find things wrong. Wouldnt give me a check sheet because nothing was wrong. Just the receipt. Good news I guess. Took the car back to my sons and looked under the hood like I always do after a service. Checked both the cabin filter as well as the engine air filter and they were filthy. Very dark and dirty, leaves paper etc. So changed them myself.My goal was to find a service shop who I could trust to take care of my sons car because he knows nothing about such things. Came away feeling I paid $84 for an oil and filter change which I could have done myself in 45 min and $27 in materials from Walmart. Since something as basic as checking the filters either wasnt done or because they were too busy to take the time to do the work that was needed I have no idea whether other important services were done or not. We use Meineke for all of our out of warranty vehicles (including this Honda civic) where I live in Gilroy, Ca and have been happy with the service. Felt this was a very subpar experience. I would have emailed the meineke in San Diego directly to discuss this myself but could not find that contact info on their website. Figured I would inform your main customer service before I filled out the customer satisfaction survey that was sent to me.Received the standard auto-generated response from them. Draw your own conclusions.

This is definetly the cleanest shop Ive ever seen and the Mng/Owner was very helpful. Getting my car in for quick look and scheduling the repairs for late in the afternoon of the same day despite being busy. The job was done right at a fair price and I was pleased to see that a repair job can be done that costs less than $100 and without all the the attempts to add things on and up-sell. There was no down side to this shop and it has my highest marks and I will no questions about it be returning here. If you need to wait on your car theres a waiting area that is clean and is not a thru traffic area with a tv and clean restroom..
