My work schedule changed recently so I had to find a different mechanic, which I dreaded doing, but I was very fortunate to have been recommended to the guys at Miramar Automotive Transmission.

The report I received after the appt did not align with what I was told. In the report, 5 things needed immediate attention. My verbal report named 2, and one was an air filter replacement I couldnt have done because they were not in stock. At no time was I asked if I wanted to have my alignment corrected, which in the report showed up as needing immediate attention.

Quoted me $130 at 8:30am when I dropped my car off, called me at 10:30am said they needed to order a part and it would be $330, I said ok. Heard nothing all day, I called at 2:30, they said no problem we got the part, ac will be fixed by 5pm. Called me at 4:50pm said they couldnt fix the ac. So they didnt fix anything but still charged me $330.... Ac is still broken. They basically charged me $330 to keep my car all day and not do a damn thing. Use a different shop, this place is garbage.

I recently found Miramar Automotive and boy am I glad I did, they are awesome. John helped me with both of my cars. I had them do a pre purchase inspection on my Prius and then returned to have them fix the A/C on my Mustang. Ive seen a lot of auto repair shops in my day and these guys are top notch. Here are just a few of the things that really set Miramar Automotive & Transmission apart from other shops Ive taken my car into:1) Kim and her team gave me regular updates on the status of my car.They provided me with a report with pictures of each aspect of my car. This included items like the color, pH, and fill-level of my coolant, the condition of my air filter, and the condition of my tires, etc.2) They were thorough with their workDuring their inspection they noticed some liquid had splattered inside of my engine bay. It turned out this was the symptom of an issue with my motor mount. They included those pictures in my report and helped me find an issue with my car that I didnt know I had!Ive taken my car to OTHER shops in the past where they claimed a 100-point inspection that included checking my reverse lights. All those other shops claimed that they had checked them and they were fine. Well they were broken (I had known it for a while), so I know that they didnt actually check. Kims team was the only one that ever caught my lights being out.3) Kim helped me avoid doing repairs/maintenance that my car didnt need to save me money.I had requested some maintenance that they found I didnt need. WOW!! Kim and John at Miramar Automotive & Transmission are just AWESOME!! I was interested in a used car that was for sale at a dealership nearby. Since I am 1700 miles away I would be purchasing the car as-is sight unseen. I called Miramar and spoke to Kim, she recommended a pre-purchase inspection and said she doesnt care which shop I choose, just make sure I have it done. Her knowledge and willingness to explain the details is why I chose Miramar to inspect the vehicle. I am comfortable purchasing the vehicle due to the extensive inspection report, estimate to correct the issues they found and photos they provided. John and Erik did phenomenal work on my 1995 4runner. They kept running into problem after problem but they kept at it, updated me every time there was a new issue found and allowed me to make the decision if I wanted them to fix it or not. Ive brought my my 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe to Miramar Automotive for about 9 years. During that time, the shop has changed ownership several times. But the mechanics have stayed on for the most part. And theyre experts at diagnosing issues (e.g., a strange clicking here or vibration there) and fixing them. Moreover, the current owner (for several years now), Kim, is the best one yet. She knows her stuff and is honest. Instead of upselling you, at times shes fixed small issues for free and/or suggested I could hold off on certain services. The communications are fantastic. They send an email or text with a link to a detailed analysis of every aspect of your vehicle, with color-coded urgency levels and photographs of parts, issues, and recommendations. Because of the consistently great experience, about 2 years ago we began bringing my wifes 2014 Fiat 500 to Miramar Automotive as well and have no regrets.

I went to this shop on the recommendation of Andy’s Muffler Service (which I also highly recommend). I have an older Jeep Cherokee that needed an oil change and the suspension re-torqued after some previous work done out of state. John was honest and straightforward. The work done was top notch and the prices were fair. I’ll be using this shop for any future automotive work!

My first mechanic was not able to replace my transmission. It was worth it to tow all the way to Mira Mesa to get my transmission replaced. They did a super thorough check before hand that I was able to see online, it included real photos of my car. For example: my filters needed replacing and they sent pictures of that. The check found major things that my last mechanic did not find. And now that my transmission was replaced it works so much better! The owner is also super nice, respectful, and responsive which honestly does not happen often to me.

I have a 2008 Nissan Pathfinder and it has not been well cared for. It overheated and refused to start so I took it to Miramar Automotive & Transmission. Kim and her team worked like detectives to figure out all of the things wrong with my vehicle. Her time estimates for completion were accurate and she let me know which repairs were essential and which she recommended waiting on. I had to leave the car at the shop for an extra day because I couldnt pick it up right away and she was very accommodating. Kim is pleasant to deal with and very accessible by phone or text. I highly recommend this shop.

We were preparing to purchase a used truck, Miramar Automotive & Transmission did a complete inspection for us. They found a few small items (which were to be expected on a used vehicle) but they also found an oil leak that will be a costly repair. We returned to the seller with the inspection report, and he was willing to reduce the price of the truck. Yes, they have competitive prices and do great work and yes they quote you a price for the work you want done and never go beyond that, unless they call you before any work is done and let you know of other necessary repairs. However, they go beyond these musts . They have quoted me a price for something I thought I needed done and they found that the problem could be fixed by a lesser procedure. This saved me money!! Most recently Kim helped to clear up a battery warranty problem I had with Ford. Something she certainly did not have to do! Miramar Automotive & Transmission is and will be are go to Auto Repair Shop.

These guys are awesome! Even for how busy they get, they keep it easy to communicate with them about your vehicle. PLUS, they can get jobs done in less than half the time it says on the books! Add to this the full service report on your vehicle, with pictures, and the courtesy they treat you and your vehicle with, and in my opinion (as an amateur mechanic) these guys are 10 out of 10!

After trying SEVERAL different Unreliable Auto centers, I found Miramar Automotive on Yelp. We have been very happy with their quality of service. Its hard to find an automotive center you can trust. We have been going here for over 5 years and we are so glad we found this location!

Kim is super helpful. Will straight up tell what needs to be done and what is recommended with the pricing. There is no pressure to get the recommended services done. My first service with Miramar Automotive was to have a pre-purchase inspection on a used CR-V which addressed a couple of issues I was able to take back to the dealer and renegotiate.

Brought my car in for a tune up, oil change and because my car would shake while idling and feel like it was on the verge of stalling out. After the tune up and replacing my engine / transmission mounts my car now runs smoother than the day I first bought it. Really amazing and knowledgeable team. Superb Service! I used to work on cars professionally for years. With that being said Its difficult for me to find a shop I can trust to do work when I dont have the equipment to do it myself. Miramar Automotive & Transmissions has continually exceeded my expectations and continues to go beyond what I personally would consider great service. They now incorporate an autovital service which messages you updates on your vehicle inspection to your phone and allows you to review your vehicle inspection results along with photos from your phone. Its easy to approve a repair when you can see the issue on your phone with a description in the inspection report. I have found the mechanics there more than trustworthy and knowledgeable and Kimberly is fantastic at the counter relaying your vehicle issues to the mechanics so they can be sure to fix whats right. Ive been meaning to write a review on this auto shop, but I always got side tracked until someone today asked me where I go to get my car repaired. Let me tell you something, this shop goes above and beyond! I have a lot of problems with my car because the previous owner did some damage on it (electrical issues, AC issues, not taking care of the engine, etc.) and l desperately needed to find a shop to fix my car. I went in describing my problems and the team here gave me exceptional service from taking the time to find issues, look for cheaper parts, and getting my car serviced in a timely manner. What I appreciate is that Kim provides detailed explanations of whats going down and pictures are sent to you so you know that they arent pulling your leg. I appreciate how much patience Bob has because I know the wiring in my car is an absolute NIGHTMARE. They put their customers first and it shows! Ill keep coming back for many years to come. Took our 17 year old Honda Odyssey in for maintenance work after it arrived from being driven overseas in Portugal for 4 years...where we only did oil/filter, tires and then only fixed what was broken while there (a challenge for sure.) On arrival in San Diego the idle control valve was malfunctioning. Kim had a full inspection done on the car, gave us a detailed list of items that needed to be taken care of and items that could possibly wait. When we questioned her, she was fair and honest with the items that didnt need to be done at the moment. The car is running smoothly again. We were very impressed with Kims communication and professionalism. We will definitely return!

Kim Dais, the new owner of Miramar Automotive, and her team of mechanics are great. I’ve now brought our cars in for servicing four times and the work has been excellent every time. Between them, Kim, Bob, and Zach have over 50 years of experience in the automotive industry. They listen and are knowledgeable without being patronizing and I particularly appreciate how respectful they are – of all people. I (and another customer sitting next to me here in the waiting room) believe them to be very honest and very capable and drive quite a distance to bring our cars here – I from Julian and he from the South Bay. I can also say that Kim is wonderfully kind and loving to her dog, who is in the shop with her and gets pets and hugs about every ten minutes.Update (3/13/20) I just brought my car in for a leaking radiator and Kim and her team did a great job replacing it. They also found another leak and took care of that as well. I wrote the review above about a year ago and I am not sure why it did not post. However, I stand by it 100%. The only thing that has changed is one of the staff. Erik is a terrific, meticulous mechanic.

Kim was very kind, professional and helpful when I called in for information and pricing on replacing the AC condenser in my 2009 Toyota Prius. She provided me with a very competitive quote so I too the drive from Imperial Beach to MIramar to get the work done. I choose to pick it up the following morning to beat all the traffic and Kim was great to work with for timing to drop off and pick up my car. Another AC place in San Diego that supposedly specializes in AC wanted to charge DOUBLE!!! As I called around I found out the other companys price was ridiculous. I went to YELP to look for possibilities and found Miramar Automotive & Transmission. So if you are trying to find an HONEST TRUST WORTHY mechanic shop; this is the place! FYI: if you are military they also provide a 20% discount on labor!!! Kim you are running an AWESOME, CUSTOMER SERVICE based business that is HONEST and TRUSTWORTHY and I am glad to have found your business and will be bringing my vehicles here whenever a need arises.

What a great experience! They are very cost friendly as well. I brought my car in for a check up, oil change, tire rotation, etc. Setting up the appointment was very easy. This is my same review I put on Yelp! Let me start off by saying that without a doubt if you need any of the services offered here, you must go here and I will tell you why. I had bought the yelp deal $25 for $50 worth of services. I needed an oil change and tire rotation. It wouldnt hurt to have my jeep patriot checked for other problems as well. I made an appointment for 4:00 and was told I would be taken immediately and not have to wait to be seen., I arrived five minutes early and was immediately greeted by the professional staff and my car was brought to the back. Tim, the owner wanted to make sure I get the full value for my yelp deal, and I not only got the oil change and tire rotation which was advertised on their website for 29.99, but he replaced my oil filter as well as part of my $50 deal. He didnt make me pay the difference for a couple bucks and right away I thought that he was great and not your ordinary nickel and dime automotive shop. I have never had an experience like I did here. Tim worked on my car and checked out a number of things. He didnt just come back and tell me what I needed to be done, he showed me everything that led to his suggestions. How many of these ships bring you to your car and show you exactly the current state of things like your shocks, brakes, etc. I know nothing about cars and he was very helpful in explaining everything. I mentioned a couple of other things and he went over and above all of my expectations. Turns out, Tim bought the business in May and since then, it is his absolute goal to take care of every customer who comes to him the way anybody would want to be treated...with respect, honesty and professionally. I cant tell you how many times I have had my oil changed and been pressured by the service tech to do this and that when I obviously didnt need any of it. Tim is the small business owner who gets it. Quality service at its finest. Bringing your car here you know you will be told what you need and what you dont need. I urge you to go here for your automotive needs. Miramar Automotive and Transmission incorrectly diagnosed my truck. I was told that I had an electric and ABS issue. They told me that my break pedal issue was fixed, but my ABS still wasn’t working. After feeling uneasy about my experience at Miramar Automotive and Transmission, I decided to take my truck to another Automotive shop for a second opinion. Once the second Auto shop conducted a FULL diagnostic, it was thoroughly explained to me that my axle was chipped which caused my rotors to become damaged. I was given a false report from Miramar Automotive and Transmission. I strongly do not recommend any one taking there car there to get fixed due to a lack of integrity and business etiquette this company withholds.

They got me in right away. Great communication regarding what needed to be fixed. Would recommend.

Very efficient with very good price

Had a blow out on a freeway on the way home. Luckily I was pretty close to Miramar Automotive. I had recently been to the shop and called them up to see if they could help. They called and dispatched a tow car from a seperate shop for me which arrived in about 10 minutes. I was then taken to the shop and given choices for tire type. I believe I was given a good deal and the car was ready the next day.Customer service was great and I was in and out of the shop quickly with a rental.

My 2014 Subaru had issues while I was on I-15. The temperature guage was almost on the red. I called them, Greg said bring it in.. He and the mechanic Bob quickly diagnosed it that the bottom tank had crack. I already poured 3L coolant, all was draining. They fixed it, did a pressure test and gave it back like new (2Yr warranty on the work) - 5 Stars for No up-selling, very knowledgeable and reasonable folks.

The staff is awesome. The auto garage is awesome and the staff is amazing.The mechanics are awesome and helpful. 5 stars.

Kim is a woman of her word. Soon after I left my car with her she called and gave me the run-down of what needed to be done. She was accurate in the pricing she gave me, which I think was fair. She was a pleasure to work with.

These guys were great to work with. Broke all my cars issues down sent a estimate on everything with pictures. Recieved updated emails and txt on cars progress and the receptionist was very easy to work with.
