Very happy about the work they did on my car. I went in to fix a panoramic sunroof on a Volkswagen, this is a very challenging task based on the feedback I got from the car dealership. Most places I called in San Diego did not even want to do it because they were not confident they can handle it. When I called Chuck he looked into it in detail and gave me an estimate on the repair needed. Very professional. The work was done with highest quality and at a fraction of the cost dealership was asking. He also repaired gas pump lid which had come off, it was done very well such that it wont fall off again and the finish of coloring it and making it look smooth very much appreciated! He also handled an engine oil leak on this car, he quickly identified the problem and did what was necessary at the time without going overboard and replacing lots of unnecessary parts. They are honest and professional in their work, and very reasonable in the cost. Best car repair spot I found so far in San Diego.

Fair Prices, Great experience.I visit Southwest Auto regularly for oil change and service and also when I first bought the car it had transmission leak which was fixed easily by them.Honestly its a great experience with one of the best local mechanics.

Brought my 2010 Mini Cooper S in for a diagnostic of an electrical that was causing the fuel pump to run constantly. Ill be honest, its a hole-in-the-wall shop that didnt immediately inspire confidence, but I was totally wrong!Turned out that it wasnt a major problem with anything I expected (engine computer, fuel pump), but Chuck diagnosed it as meddling in the electrical system by a previous owner. And he fixed the problem for no additional cost over the diagnostic fee. Car was back on the road in one day for minimal cost, and still running fine after 10 days. Thank you Chuck, you are awesome!

I can’t even begin to explain how happy I am that I chose this place to go to! My sunroof was broken, part of the track was tore off and I called multiple places asking if they worked on sunroofs and some did, but as soon as I told them part of it involved the track they immediately said “oh we won’t be able to fix that here, you’ll have to get a whole new sunroof and you’ll have to call American Sunroof.” I called there and the labor alone was an outrageous price, along with the sunroof . But they instantly said they would have to replace mine with a new sunroof. No one wanted to deal with “fixing it” and looking into things. So I called Southwest Auto Repair and Electric and Chuck answered and told me to come in and he would take a look and try to fix it. He never once said that I’d have to get a whole new sunroof. Chuck really wanted to help me out and try and find the parts needed to replace the broken track . He looked at my car for free and said he was going to try and find the parts then call me. He called me later the next day and found one that matched my car. A lot of places didn’t have the parts for it but he kept searching until he found the correct parts. He quoted me wayyyy less than the other places did, he was really reasonable ! My sunroof is like brand new again! Not only did he fix my sunroof, he also fixed a lock problem on my car. Which again, not many places could figure out what was going on with my locks, because my remote and automatic locks to my car wouldn’t work. Chuck took a look at it and figured out the problem immediately and also fixed it for a reasonable price! This is NOT the kind of place that will rip you off. Chuck definitely cares, puts effort into it, and takes the time to get the job done correctly . He did a great job! I am definitely going to go back to Southwest Auto Repair and Electric!

HONESTUnder lower than Prices of the DealershipsChuck told me that my Ford Escort would cost $700 to repair. BUT Chuck said it would cost a lot more down the road. He told me to buy a new car.He could have made a lot of money. But Chuck is one of the few mechanics that is honest.Pick and deliver. You dont have to wait for service. Chuck picks it up. He delivers and you pay him on the spot.

I had a bad wire that needed to be replaced and charged me a reasonable price compared to other shops. Hes honest, does real good work, and provided great customer satisfaction. I would recommend him if you had a faulty wire.

Chuck is the man. had a antenna problem with my 03 sonata and he went through the labor to put in an after market antenna for about 100 or so less than what It could have been.

Took a while, price was high. But did a good job and fixed the issue.
