If you own a Toyota or Lexus this is the best place in San Diego to have repairs or even routine maintenance done. They do excellent work and stand behind their repairs. Ill never tale my vehicle anyplace else to have work done on it. And, by the way, they were recommended to us by a local Toyota dealerships service advisor.

Always a great experience! Ive had some bad experiences with auto mechanics in the past. Not here. Ive come here for years and feel like my Prius is in competent, honest hands. I drive my cars for many years. TLC helps me maintain my car with a reasonable cost.

2nd time using their services. They do EXCELLENT WORK!! They take the time to thoroughly inspect the vehicle, and make recommendations for improvement. Toyotas and Lexus vehicles are very reliable, but when parts need to be changed, its essential to maintain reliability.This company is not as expensive as the dealer, but it is every bit as good. This is the second timing belt replacement on the same vehicle, so more parts were needed this time...cam seals, crankshaft seals, tensioners. They also found a marginal radiator that need to be replaced after 16 years of driving. All of this work was done, and the car still works beautifully...Im sure I would have paid considerably more at the dealership, and Im happy about that. The car was ready the same day, which is absolutely amazing.Respectfully.........Thanks TLC for excellent service. There are 3 Lexus vehicles in this family, so youll get more business as it is needed.

I went to TLC Auto because of the great google review ratings.Cons: I parked my car on the street. Upon returning to pick my car up (I did not pay for service here) my car was in the exact same location. My car seat had not moved (I am under 5 2). However, I was informed my car was pulled into the back and diagnosed (in the one hour they had my car).I called ahead and was told not to wait for my car to be diagnosed. It would be diagnosed in 2-3 days. I offered to wait at a near by coffee shop and was told my car would not be seen within the day. As I headed home they called me after an hour letting me know my Prius battery needs to be replaced. (They are booking maintenance 2-3 weeks out).I left multiple engine performance issues written down (& left historical maintenance) and asked if other issues were looked at. I was told no, the only issue is the hybrid battery. TLC Auto wanted $115 for this diagnosis (Auto zone told me the same issue for free).Pros: Contact Green Bean Battery (greenbeanbattery.com) and they will come to your house and replace your Hybrid battery. They also take your old battery for you. They were less than half of what TLC Auto repair quoted me for a hybrid battery (life time warranty & replacements). Green Bean Battery is very professional, polite, and quick.

Its like going to the dealer without the feeling of being overpriced. These guys are honest, helpful and willing to do what it takes to get the job done right. I have 4 lexus vehicles and theyre the only ones I let service them. If youre tired of paying too much but want an honest shop that wont use cheap aftermarket parts, go to TLC you wont regret it.

I am always weary of car mechanics, but I had to bring my car in with an unexpected repair and i was pleasantly surprised. They were cordial, knowledgeable and fairly priced. The repair ended up not being very expensive, but they never once try to upsell me with additional minor repairs that I know the car needs.

Best place ever! We are never going anywhere else! We were past customers, and always absolutely pleased, but with hubby out of town, I decided to have a repair done at a local dealership (because of loaner and also was the type of new vehicle we were considering). After 3 visits, it was still not fixed, and cost more money than I care to admit. Decided to have one last shot before donating it (too old to spend any more money on) and TLC came through big time! They fixed it while we waited for $100! Huge thanks to Jim, Mike, Fred and others! You guys are the best!

We have been taking our 3 Toyotas here for 5 years, and the guys here are fantastic. They are so popular, I heard they are looking for more space. Theyre your classic no-nonsense mechanics who dont tell you to fix something unless you need to, and they will give you a straight answer on keeping or getting rid of an older car.

We have had 6 different Toyota and Lexus vehicles worked on by them over the last 7 years and have been very satisfied with their work everytime. WOW!!! Today marks a special day in my history dealing with auto repair shops. Yesterday, my check engine light and VCS track lights popped on. Of course I looked online to figure out what it was...and everything led me to think it was an O2 sensor or mass air flow sensor...nothing less than a $400 repair for my 2002 4Runner. I called everywhere....including a dealer. Nobody was interested in diagnosing my 4Runner without charging $120 (which could be applied to a repair). I then found TLC and spoke to Fred. He said to bring it in and he would take a look at no charge. After plugging in his computer to my 4runner, it turned out to be a gas cap issue. He was done in about 2 minutes...cleared my codes and I was off. TLC will be the shop I take my Toyota to for any repair. Its clear that they are HONEST and KNOW what they are doing. Thanks again!!

Claimed to have inspected my front suspension after I described ball joint and steering rack symptoms... they told me to get new tires. Got a second opinion and was quoted $1900 for suspension overhaul. These guys didn’t listen to my opinion and now here I am getting bent over from a tire shop because they can’t do an alignment on my tires. Lazy and dishonest shop.

They are just a cool group of mechanics that decided not to charge everybody out the booty for car maintenance. If it takes one hour, you pay one hour, usually like $20, no markup on parts, and very easy going yet hard working group.

Have known these guys for years, with multiple cars. Wouldnt think of taking my Toyota anywhere else.
