The outdoor space is lovely. There were plenty of tables and it was easy to eat distanced from others. I ordered the two taco plate with chicken and it was bland. But my son loved the beef burrito (spicy) and my little one enjoyed the kids meal of chicken tenders and fries. Staff are very friendly.

Never go! Its Fiesta level food. And not a great Fiesta. Rice wasnt cooked right so every bite had a hard grain. Beans taste from a can. Chile Verde aint great. The workers also argue, yell, cuss. I didnt feel okay asking for refund for fear of argument.

I payed 6.50 for a mexican mocha, I ended up just getting what seemed to be a regular plain mocha: Couldn’t taste any cinnamon or spices. The coffee also seemed kind of burnt tasting. If all of there items are so highly priced and not very good quality im not sure how they stay in business. definitely don’t recommend coming here:

The quirky guy at the register kind of threw a menu at us and said to sit wherever and then come back to the counter to order.They had a whole stack of menus but he told my wife and I we could only have one because they “didn’t have enough.”Plastic cutlery and styrofoam plates.Would not recommend 🙁

Expensive for no reason. Everything served on plastic/styrofoam. Food was bland and for some reason the rice was pink. Manager was not wearing a mask and was hitting on his 18-year old waitress in training. How do I know her age? Because he asked her, told her she was beautiful, and then asked how many boyfriends she had. Gross all around.

Stopped here for a bite since it was the only place without a line.... After coming inside I then knew why. Its dirty and sticky everywhere. Prices are high for what it looks like frozen foods. The servers are nice but look like they dont want to be there. Instead of food I went with a tap beer for $8 that was watered down.

This place is super weird. The manager disciplines his employees in front of customers. All the employees are the same age and act like its high school behind the counter. I waited to get my food, was handed a plate even though i said “to go”. they then took 10 mins to package it so my order was cold. While i was waiting for it to come back out the employees started laughing and looking at me. Almost asked a refund, should have too the food was nasty.

I was hired by VJ the owner to come do a service. We scheduled at 8:30 unknown to me he opened at 8:30 he then tell me he wants to cancel the service. I requested my money for the services he cancelled. ( wasting my time energy and efforts to service and convenience him). He then proceeds to call the cops. Upon arrival the police handled the situation well. Thank you. They gave me an incident report and I was on my way shortly after VJ request that I come tomorrow???????? After calling the police on me while my kids were present. I was called there for a service. Arrived on time and was respectful only to ge the police called on me. While doing the quote I was uncomfortable at how he spoke to his employees how he was rude. Cussing and being very arrogant. VJ never paid me. And I was belittled and embarrassed as a small business owner Trying to be sucessful. And honest.

Rut gut Tequila was poured from a gallon jug and was brown color for the margaritas. Carniasada Frys where a joke wife ordered two tacos received rolled tacos with parmesan cheese on them. cost $60 I would of rather gone to taco Bell its more authentic Mexican food than this dump. We passed by there Saturday night when their kitchen was already closed but there was a lot of people there at the time and I had looked at their menu and saw they had breakfast. So the next day, Sunday, we stopped by for some breakfast. Walked in, we were handed some menus and told to order there at the register whenever we were ready and our food would be brought to us. I thought, odd but whatever. So I go up to order their machaca and eggs breakfast and my wife ordered the chilaquiles, which was written on their menu as chialiquilis which started making noise to me that it would more than likely not be very authentic like mexican chilaquiles. We ordered their house coffee to drink. Probably the only good thing about our order which I mean, it was just coffee. I was charged for my food at the time I order and the lady hands me a receipt and says If youd like to leave a tip go ahead and include it now. First time ever being asked to leave a tip before actually finishing my food. When we finally get our food my machaca was not your regular machaca. It was just shredded beef but that is it, not marinated or prepared like machaca. It was not bad, but it wasnt great nor as expected. Now, let me talk about my wifes chilaquiles. Those were the worst chilaquiles. My wife is picky with food so I thought she was probably exaggerating so I asked to try her food. Those were not chilaquiles. you could hardly tell it was tortilla, it was not crisp, it was very mush and it tasted horrible. She ended up eating only the eggs and beans. She said rice was mushy as well. I usually would read a review of a place before eating there, this time I based it on how the placed looked and based on how busy it looked. Wrong decision. Want a real mexican breakfast probably try cafe coyote or one of the other real mexican places in old town.

I ordered roll tacos,they serve the same ones you can buy at Costco. A box of 32 for 9.99 I paid 13.99 for 4. Food was not good

Chilaquiles made with chip not tortillas. Plastic utensils. Not highly recommended, the mimosas are ok, strawberry milkshake is ok. But the flies are something. And self served spent I spent 72 $ and they asked for their tip. Not the food nor the service is worth it

This was the worst meal we had. Very little cheese on the tacos, sour Cheam was runny, chicken on the chips was not shredded not was hard to eat, over priced and even wanted to charge for a refill on the Coke. Newer will return here.

This is a bad place for Mexican food. Chicken is plain chicken with no flavor. Rolled tacos are tequilas from a box. Beans are canned beans.

Food was OK. It was covered in salsa that was pretty spicy with no warning. Chicken was kind of dry. Churros had some weird imitation cream in them, or they were just severely undercooked. I couldnt tell.

He argued with me when I asked if I could have a few extra napkins. The food wasnt worth eating. I took two bites and left. The restaurant is DIRTY and the bathrooms were absolutely disgusting even my young child wouldnt use it.. Please listen to these reviews and go somewhere else!

Not great. The food is poorly seasoned and the rice was a weird pink color. The coffee is really terrible though. Prices are quite high for what you get and its definitely priced $2-3/plate more than other comparable places.

The drinks were awesome the service or non service was terrible, no one checked on us and we tipped every time, then I went in to order and they ignored me and took other orders, o well wont be back there.

I had just arrived at Old Towne via Amtrak. I wandered over for a cup of coffee while I waited for my family. There were quite a few choices for coffee. I ordered the Cafe Au lait. The owner is very friendly and the food smelled amazing. I hope to come back before I go home next week.

This not a traditional Mexican food shop. The deserts are usually great. The most outstanding feature for this Livingroom location is the outdoor dining - it is big and lit up!

Other than by the location and the excellent waiter service, I was not impressed at all with the carne asada plate I ordered came, the meat was chopped up in little bitty pieces and had a texture of hard cheap meat, I mentioned this to the waiter and he was apologetic and I tipped him well for his gracefulness but scratch this place off my list.👎

My cousin and I ordered the chicken enchiladas. We did not order any drinks and the total order was $36 when we received our food, the rice was bland and tasteless and the beans tasted like they were from a can and there wasnt any cheese inside the enchiladas. I thought this meal was over priced and definitely not worth $36. We then went to Old Town Cafe, and that restaurant never disappoints. The only reason why we came to Living Room Cafe is because they were the only restaurant with outdoor seating. Never again will I come here.

I just wanted a Beer ended up getting Nachos also. Its just because Im a cook myself but the Nachos were underseasoned and bland the cheese overpowered the whole dish the steak they used couldve used a little More Love when they Prep it. Maybe its because of the Current Pandemic and Shortage of Guests that has a lot of Servers not Caring but we in the Industry we need to remember, specially at times like these that repeat Guests are what keep the Doors Open so a little Effort will get You there. Just the Thoughts of a Guest that is on both sides of the Fence.

Badly run business. Was making on order with the wait staff and Owner/Manager jumped in starting telling the waiter what to do and how to do things. Owner scolded the wait staff in front of us and also swore at them as though they were incompetent. I felt uncomfortable and wanted to leave, but order was already placed. The Owner continued to yell at the staff. I Only came in for a beer during happy hour, but owner made it seemed as though I ordered the whole menu. Not coming back again.

It’s not a bad spot and coffee is good. I would say make sure the barista understands exactly what you want in a coffee. Do not assume that a four shot espresso with foam milk becomes a 20 ounce cup with 1/3 filed with milk. The location is great and the decoration is very classic. The prices are a little high but it’s a tourist spot so I understand what I am paying for. The coffee was good so I can say anything bad about that but the place has potential to be better and more than inviting. I wish them luck.

I was very unhappy and actually felt ill when we went back into the restaurant after eating outside to find one gentleman who was acting like he was in charge with his mask down under his chin preparing drinks while chatting away (no mask). He walked all over the place and through the kitchen past us several times with no mask over his face.The cook in the back was wearing his mask over his mouth but not his nose. The girls were great and very sweet but if your hoping for a place that follows guidelines for Public Health COVID safety in a food setting, you might want to skip this place for now.

Horrible staff and management.I walked in to order a breakfast burrito. As soon as I ordered, I noticed the manager with his face mask around his neck, the cook, didnt even have one on. And the other 3 staff members had them way below their nose.I immediately asked for a refund, and let the manager know why. He asked his staff to put on mask and wear them properly. By that time, too little too late. How ever, he wouldnt refund me the 19$ for a burrito and soda.Im not a confrontational person. I didnt want to argue back and forth. I asked for a refund 4x. Each time the manager acted like a car salesman and told me not to worry.I will never return to this place.

I would not recommend anyone eating here. Sanitation and cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. The staff seems confused on what exactly they’re supposed to be doing. The owner/manager was frazzled and disorganized, taking personal phone calls in the middle of taking orders and making drinks. They brought the wrong order and when my father said something, the owner told him “you got what you ordered” even though my dad ordered a burrito and was brought a sandwich. Customer service was horrible. Food was mediocre at best. Honestly, save your money and steer clear.

Paid in advance & was given the wrong plates. The manager brought out our plates & tried taking away the sides we were given saying it wasnt ours. No salsa & chips unless you pay for it (only Mexican restaurant I know of with no free chips & salsa). & it was $60 for 2 dishes & 1 drink. The plates had the tiniest portions of beans & rice considering they were over $20 a plate. Horrible. Horrible. Dont recomend to anyone.

I recently spent the day in Old Town (San Diego) and was debating on where to eat. My family and I walked into this nice looking cafe that did not have a wait. Working in the restaurant industry has taught me what to look for when visiting an unfamiliar establishment. I immediately noticed why this cafe was so empty. I seriously thought that I was on a Gordon Ramsay TV show as I could not believe how the bald maskless manager of this restaurant was talking to and treating his staff. Aside from the extremely uncomfortable environment, the service was unsatisfactory, but the staff were not to blame. The lack of customer service had everything to do with the bald maskless manager of the cafe. He reached in between my partner and I, threw a menu in between us, yelled at staff in front of customers and also used profanity in front of my 4 year old daughter. Needless to say we took our business elsewhere. The tangible issues included a dirty and unorganized service area, menus being tossed around back and forth and an extremely aggressive bald maskless manager. Reliability was totally absent from this scenario as the cafe failed before we could even order our food. Responsiveness was also missing as it took about two minutes for my family and I to be acknowledged and instead of a how can I help you greeting, we received more of a what do you want attitude. The employees all looked like they hated their jobs. I got as far as telling the waitress what I wanted to order, and when asking for recommendations I received no answer. Assurance also receives no rating. I would be lying if I mentioned that empathy was displayed by staff. if anything, I felt empathy for them as I have also worked in horrible environments such as this one. I felt very bad for the employees. The service is a direct reflection of management. A bad manager can take a good staff and destroy it causing employees to lose motivation. Id be surprised to see this cafe in business next year.

Horrible customer service from the manager. the staff were fantastic but the manager acted cruel and rude to both the customers and his employees. manager was verbally harassing the staff and the staff appeared to be fearing for their safety, and one staff member mentioned how the manager mistreated his employees. should definitely be looked further into

As soon as I walked in, the gentleman that seemed to be in charge was wearing his mask improperly (under nose and mouth) the whole time I was there. After the cashier handed me the menu, the same gentleman began to explain to me about the menu (still wearing the mask the same way). The whole experience left me unsettled. I ended up handing them back the menu after looking at it because of how uncomfortable I was.

Overall a good place. Nice breakfast options.

This is NOT The Living Room... This is now a third party coffee shop that also has Mexican food. The service was absolutely horrifying and they do not know their menu and it took them forever to make our drinks and they had kept having to ask us over and over again what they were. There were about six people and they were all so high they couldnt figure out what in the world was going on. And the coffee was not that good..

Stopped here and got a quick bottle of wine. The place was okay, the music did not fit the atmosphere, and the chairs were oddly mix matched ... The inside seemed more cozy but we wanted outside seating as the weather was great. Had to order at the register and bring everything to the table ... However other people were waited on. Kinda odd but whatevs. Although not my favorite spot, I would go back. I think about a third of their string lights worked.

She never spoke a word and when she did it was just incoherent mumbling. The Jamaica drink was old and had this gross bitter, vinegar taste to it. Alcohol drinks werent good either. The food was average and the service was slow. Decided to get dessert elsewhere, I don’t recommend this place.Update: after a few hours of the same day of eating here. My mother got horrible food poisoning from their nachos :(
