Easy access. Store not crowded. Most shelves were full. Fresh vegetables, and fruits for everyone. Out of reasonable priced distilled water. We were able to locate everything else on our monthly shopping list.Only two cashiers working creating a bottleneck. Handicap checkout not open .However well worth the trip.
Great selection of items. Baggers are nice. Best in San Diego.
I love grocery shopping here. Not too big of a store but it’s enough to get what we need or want. They always have the freshest fruits and vegetables! I also like that it’s closer to home and it may get busy but I do not feel dizzy. On the side of the building is the Food Court so it is a great convenience for both.
Nice place to shop. Good benefits for military servicemen.
By far my favorite commissary in all southern California. To start with parking is always good as in, the base built enough parking. You go to some bases especially on payday and its impossible to find a parking spot. Not at Miramar, you might have to walk a little bit but its not a big deal. Material condition of the store; this commissary is kept in very good working condition. It does not look or smell like its falling apart or 100 years old. The staff; always so kind and helpful. I have been coming here for 17 years and never have I had a staff member be short or unhelpful.... always service with a smile. Food selection and quality; wide variety of meats, fruits and vegetables. Canned and baking goods are also very well stocked. Breads and frozen selection is extremely good as well. Ive been to commissary all over the country and world and have yet to find one that meets the mark in every category like the Miramar commissary.
UNACCEPTABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. This afternoon I received a notification that my credit card was used in a purchase at this commissary. I called and used the phone system to speak to the store manager and was told to call customer service. No she would not transfer me. I called customer service and it went to voicemail after a few rings. For the next hour I called every 10 minutes and it went to voicemail. I call the managers number again and now it goes directly to voicemail after some completely inaudible greeting that seems to possibly be a language other than English.I think that a fraudulent use of a customers credit card would be considered an urgent issue. Having the date and time of the transaction I would think the commissary would be able to determine the register that the transaction occurred and maybe perform some diligent action to this illegal activity. Being directed to customer service who from my experience is to answer question regarding product availability.Having this occur at a DECA facility is a shock. I would expect it at some place like a gas station or convince store but not at a facility on a military installationBottom line is this commissary need to look at their operating procedures and ensure that their entire staff are competent, which in this care, they havent been.I may have to contact DECA Headquarters about this so that they can address the issue with their subordinate facility.
Shelves were stocked with a good selection of items.
I love that theres no tax and that they have pretty much everything a grocery store has. And the checkouts super fast and if you tip there are people who will help you put groceries in the car that only work for tips.
I love this place. I love our military town. I love fighter town USA. thank you for your service people.
Great customer service, clean and fresh. My favorite market.
Great store, but require masks...
Great customer service, unexpected sale. Found what I was looking for.
Will start friendly and knowledgeable personnel
Pretty good prices decent selection altho u wont find top top shelf stuff.
Good prices, lots of items in stock, very fresh produce
Great commissary, not crowded like in 32nd street but basically has the same stuff
Love my military base has everything I need
I have been using commissaries for at least 50 years, both during active duty and retired years. The Miramar commissary has been my most used location. The consistent financial savings have kept me coming back. The many choices of national brands dont make me miss quality for low prices. The local workers are always helpful and respectful. Of course, if i you walk in with an attitude problem and expect people to bow down before you, then dont be surprised if you encounter some resistance. ( Remember the GOLDEN RULE ! ) The items are usually well stocked, and well within expiration dates. What a bargain. Hope they continue this service forever.
Love this place! The foods are a great buy here! When I was younger growing up my step mom entered my dad in the drawing over at that commissary to win a 55 Chevy Bel Air candy apple red! Oh yes, they had called him up to pick up his new Chevy he had won back in 89 or 90. I forgot actually what year he had won.
Friendly staff, easy to find products and checking out is a breeze with the amount of cash registers always available.
This place is another nugget for me..They offer so many wonderful items and seasonal specials! The people who work and maintain this place should be applauded ..they are always on top of things and always provides you service with a 😃 smile! From the checkers to the baggers...to the information desk person...they all make your shopping there such a heavenly gem...cant say enough positive things regarding this store...so....take a trip and you will understand whatService really means!!!
Its a commissary, what can I say. Very large and well stocked. Did not find the prices to be as I had expected.
Things I need(usually last minute stuff) its always there.Associates are always nice and helpful.
Awesome. Well stocked. Lots if variety. Nice staff and baggers. Friendly. Covid aware. Thank you.
Great store! Great value and the staff was very helpful and friendly.
I love that this commissary is so close to my house.
Had lots of items to choose from. Wasnt out of anything. Got all I came for.
Im a disabled veteran. I come here once a month every month to shop for groceries. I have a neighbor friend who drives me down there because we live in San Marcos and I cant drive the freeways for long distances because of my PTSD and the damage to my spine. While Im there for a few hours I look for deals on meat 🥩 and fish 🐠. Aside from the other things that are important like toiletries and Cheetoes, lol! Just kidding about the Cheetoes. I like the fresh line of vegetables and fruits. Things like bottled juices are reasonably priced. I stock up on soups for the winter season. Just about everything me and my wife need is all there. Im sure if you shop there youll find a deal or two. Semper Fi 🇺🇸
If youre active duty, reserve, or retiree and now I believe some VA veterans, this is the place for grocery shopping. the prices are either comparable or cheaper than off base. Its clean and people both customers and staff are respectful.
Always spacious and clean..but now running low in inventory. In some cases only one choice or a completely empty shelf.
I enjoy coming here. They have variety of groceries and international goods. The staff are always friendly.
I love shopping here! Its nice being able to shop where I can actually shop without having to watch my purse ever second. People dont steal or shop lift here. They typically have a great selection of items. Theyre usually well stocked. The things theyre always out of, are the things that are out in many places. Not sure why TP, PT, and rice are still issues, but they are.
I love how most commodities are priced cheaper than anywhere else.
My fav place to buy groceries. Very clean and organized store.
Bathroom cleaner for $0.16! Love our commissary! And they have toilet paper! Very righteous!
Absolutely nothing on the shelves. I thought it was the beginning of COVID... 32nd st commissary was well stocked.
Fast, convenient and they were very helpful.
Only a few empty shelves. Was surprised there still isnt any hand sanitizer. I wont blame that on the store. Help still as friendly as ever. My first trip there since March.
They are pretty consistent with their stock and inventory on the most common items. The prices are decent, and even better when it comes to meat promotions. The aisles are nice and wide, everyone flows in an orderly direction, not like Costco where people are just randomly going all over the place and are rude as hell. Shopping at the commissary is much more enjoyable than shopping in a civilian supermarket because people follow rules and guidelines at the commissary.
One of the largest commissary around!
This commissary is bigger than the naval base san diego one and generally has a shorter line
My shopping experience was good. Everyone was helpful and polite. Only negative comment is the milk had a use date of April 6 thats only 7 days. And as usual the use by date on hams was 1- 4 - 2020. I have brought this to the their attention many times in the past .
I love shopping here, clean . Customers are polite as are staff. They have been out of a few products I like, but I guess that is to be expected
Great shopping experience; quick lines and easy store navigation. Good selection of all the items I needed. Staff was kind and courteous. Thank you!
Always convenient for grocery shopping with no taxes.
Love my favorite place to get groceries its a privilege alot of people do not have. And the people are wonderful
Super convenient! Im military retired and live in Mira Mesa. Going to the commissary here is great because everyone is just so respectful towards each other.
I love shopping here. Lots of selections, cheaper prices, and no tax!
Very nice and clean. Well stocked. Great customer service
Membership has its privileges!
Excellent place for shopping. Great selection of everything. Very professional and caring staff.
Decent place for grocery shopping with good prices. Quality of produce and meat is just average at best. Very often, the scanned prices for items differ from whats posted on store shelves, so be watchful of potentially paying more for some items.
I believe the Commissary is still the cheapest place to shop in our area. When I compare prices on things we regularly shop for they are always lower priced. The store has improved so much since they replaced all the freezer and refrigeration equipment. Its very clean and a nice place to shop.
Convenient clean...friendly staff
Great experience! The store wasnt packed today and I was able to get the items that I wanted for a great competitive price!
Clean, friendly, convenient grocery shopping for military and retirees.
Nice staff. Clean place with just about enough to choose from.
Most items in stock with exception of paper goods. Meat and fresh veggies very good. Reasonable effort at preventing virus spread.
Clean atmosphere. Well stocked on all products.
Great selection, good prices, lots of parking.
Great place to get groceries if you are military or a dependent with id or contractor or retired military
Good store. Nice selection and late afternoon is a great time to go, no crowds.
Most prices much better BUT not all. You kill it in meat market
Easy delivery, receiving of product is quick and efficient. Store looks clean and organized.
If you have access, theres no reason to grocery shop anywhere else unless youre looking for very specific items.
Clean grocery store priced for the military.
Love this commissary! I’m actually stationed on 32nd street but prefer this commissary over that one. Nice staff, stocked well, and always clean.
This place is perfect for your everyday shopping needs. The prices beat nearly every store in San Diego, the customer service is great, and they carry all of the items I need, and all of the brands I want! The only issue I have is the long lines, but thats something that the store manager can fix. This place is absolutely amazing, and I recommend it to everyone everywhere!
Good place to shop for groceries
May not be the most glamorous of grocery stores but the prices are at great values, the products you need are there, the workers are courteous, and the service is decent. This Commissary has what you need and the support and service you want.
Clean and food costumer service
Always a treat to come down here! Love this place ❤ 👍🥰
I took my best friends mom to commissary for her monthly grocery shopping and was fortunate to pick up a few items myself. What a fantastic experience. If you are lucky enough to be able to shop here, count your blessings. This commissary has everything you need & could possibly want. Simply the best prices in San Diego, plenty of free parking, very short check out lines and top quality fruits and vegetables. If you are able to shop here and dont, you are losing out on a super savings with respect to your grocery needs. I cant wait until Mike asks me to help out his mother again.
Nice place
Great selection at great prices. Big store too.
Fresh veggies and fruit always. Good prices. Just time your visit well to avoid large crowds
Huge aisles, plenty of food, no tax on items!
Average savings...20%. No Tax, just a 5% surcharge. Usually better selection than Civilian Grocery stores. Even though I use reusable bags, they dont charge extra for plastic or paper bags.
Super crowded on pay days, and after working hours. The deli sandwiches are amazing. Pretty good selection of diverse cultured food. If they ever fix the crowded issue, Ill give this place 5 STARS.
Prices are great, mostly. There may be a fee things found cheaper elsewhere.Customer service has been good every time Ive gone.
The Best, Love the staff..Always friendly. And Always well stocked!. Thank You
As always it was great with all the employees being so happy and helpful. They form a great team..
Good place to shop, crowded being located where it is with the air station having been a Naval base prior along with San Diego having a large retired military community makes this place popular! Plenty of parking, clean, nice options close by for dining and other shopping, gas and what not.
Great workers, great attitude slow lines but great to shop there. No problems.
Great resource for the military, active & retired!
Great grocery store. Nice and clean. Employees are nice and helpful. The only complaint I have is about the price of Oscar Mayer bacon....lol
Love it. It’s definitely a Marine commissary. Top notch. Spotless. Attentive personnel. Respectful. AD in uniform always have head-of-line privileges
The produce is expensive and lack of high quality. I only come here for meat, beverages and toiletries. The commissary is not like what it used to be.
Favorite place to shop for all household needs. Top quality products.
Great! Were able to find everything we needed! Very clean!
Excellent food store, clean, kind people working there, busy busy busy cleaning store....
Maybe the person who works the self checkout needs more customer service skills. She was VERY RUDE, and talked to people like they were a child and beneath her. Disrespectful. I guess that’s how we treat our service members prior and past nowadays
Large, spacious store. Wide selection of produce available. Always busy with long lines for check out lanes (one line directs you to many check out stations). But the staff keeps line moving, so customers keep moving. Store employees are omni present, keeping shelves and displays full and ready for customers.
Always a pleasure to shop there.
Fast stop for quick picks for breakfast at that time. Well organized.
Best deals on stables like packaged and canned goods. Decent for dairy and meat. Not so great for produce. If you know what to get here and when to go elsewhere shopping here can get you a ton of value.
Commissary run was very smooth and efficient today. All the staff that I had any interaction with was very pleasant. Happy shopper!
Nice store. Never had any issues.
