Nice, clean, great selection of items. I used to live nearby 3 years ago, and prices seem to be more reasonable now, considering quality you are getting. Glad that hot and salad bars are back, and sushi selection is amazing now. Did I mention sweets? 😁 Additional parking is on the roof. People should stop complaining about it.

Parking on ground level is limited, more space on the roof. Clean, organized space with many vegetarian products that are hard to find at other groceries. We purchased Not Milk, Louisville Vegan Jerky, Lilys no-sugar chocolate bars, and chocolate covered caramels, fish-free tuna among other things. Wrapped meatless sandwiches, veggie pies, and pizza are also an option - I think I saw chairs and a bar upstairs parking lot for eating your food. Make sure to use your Prime app. Some products display 2 levels of discount, to use the second level you have to open Prime app, generate a barcode under in-store code, and scan that at checkout. You also get 5% cash back with your Amazon Prime credit card. Some prices are still high though. Small pesto is high enough that we prefer to get a bigger jar at Costco. Some products are local (select beers and snacks), and some coffee beans have actual roast date on them. Good place overall.

Parking here is horrendous! This location is located on a city block, so if you have to circle the parking lot, you will likely end up back on the street having to drive a few more blocks to make it back to the entrance again. I had been here several times and because the parking lot is chaotic, I hadnt even seen that they have a ramp on the north east corner of the lot that leads up to more parking.Aside from that, this location has a great selection and is just as big as a normal Whole Foods. They also have the hot bar back!

Exceptional service. The manager really bent over backwards to get my order right. The bread I ordered was reasonably priced and super delicious. So much so that people were asking where I got my bread and artichoke bruscetta. (Sp?)

I only purchased food here because I was with a friend. I have never liked the vibe here and the prices are way too high. Hoping that this visit might change my previous impressions of this place, I chose to get 2 slices if pizza and some potatoe salad. The 2 slices if pizza wrote $7, though I personally think is high, it is competitive with other by the slice establishments. The potatoe salad, which is sold by weight, came out to be $7 by itself. I didnt think I had placed that much into the container. And dont get me started on the rude clientele who kept getting into my space, and they were not wearing masks like I was. There were signs encouraging customers to use gloves and hand sanitizer but I did not see anywhere that said gloves and sanitizer were being provided near the deli bar stations. I hope the food is worth the cost and the snotty, rude behavior I endured.

I love their sandwiches and hot food items. They have prepackaged foods ready to go. Good service from Maria in the health aisle. Fresh produce looks great. Where it gets frustrating are the Amazon shoppers. The aisles are not wide, but their carts are. They park them in th middle with no consideration for those around them. The bathrooms are always in need of a good cleaning.

One of my favorites markets of all times! You can order through Amazon now, and if you have the prim membership you will even save money. Find recipes, get delivery and pick up & order. They have organic food, plant-based and more! Their deli is amazing! Their pastries and ice cream are also delicious!!Their fish, meat and poultry departments are also excellent!They also carry good quality body care products. As well as a big variety of supplements that will keep you healthy!It is expensive but Whole Foods is worth every penny!

They have a great selection of alternative foods that you wouldnt find at the grocery store normally. I left going there for that. Its only downside is that they can be pricey.

Over charging on multiple items! This is 2nd times! More training on cashier as a simple math!My proof is the employee at Deli department and sign indicate that ONLY 4 beer and guy at Deli can verify that how many PlNIY I got!MORE TRAINING and PAY more attention rather than chatting!!

The 2nd of June I was shopping here for spaghetti sauce and other items. Upon checkout, I noticed a sign if your a Prime member scan bar code from your phone for savings on various items. Some of which I had in my carry basket. I asked a clerk for help, he showed me step by step on how to locate the bar code in my Prime app! He was so kind and helpful I wish Id had his name to share! 😐Outstanding customer service and as always a huge variety of food items to choose from.

Noticing more items on sale in all categories. Fresh prepared food choices consistently good with amble variety. Always a good experience shopping here. Parking is difficult and try to park on the upper parking lot.

Honestly, the place is pretty great. Im marking down to 4 stars because the prices are still steep, but theyve come down some. And truly, the quality is great. Ive never left here feeling like something wasnt well made or prepared.The bakery is delicious with lots of vegan options. Their hot bar is a joy to explore. The salad bar is pretty good too.Overall the stores selection is great. My only real complaint is just that the building feels really tight for some reason, and the place is busy so it doesnt always feel relaxing to wander around. Otherwise, its a joy to eat here.

For a store like Whole Foods that is pricier than the average supermarket, that promotes “Health Starts Here” I am disgusted at the FILTHY restroom. Not only does it smell like strong URINE but there’s trash/graffiti everywhere. Whoever is doing the cleaning is trying to cover up the foul smell but it’s actually making it worse. Deadly combination. All the groceries stores in the area have better cleaner restrooms than this store. I’ve been to so many Whole Foods across the United States and they all for the most part have clean restrooms. I hope the manager of this location reads this and actually takes action. It is such a shame.

Good location, awesome employees. I think the store should be much cleaner, especially the bathrooms. They have two ev charger stations, parking have shrunk since the have the delivery service started. I like the juice bar and the hot bar as well. Overall a decent grocery store, not many surprises.

One of the smallest and oldest Whole Foods. You would think they would build a bigger nicer when it is the only one of three in the entire San Diego area and the closest one to downtown. Next nearest one is 12 miles away. I expect more for a store that charges so much for things.

Rarely have to go there. Now that its part of Amazon it kind of different vibe.

This is a great Whole Foods. The guy at the seafood department was super helpful and what I ended up with was very fresh. Lots of free parking up the ramp or if you are in a hurry there is often street/meter parking that lets you get in and out fast.

Good selection. It is decently busy but the lines are usually pretty fast.

I hadnt been in this wholefoods in well over a year but when I would shop it use to be a somewhat pleasant experience. I dont know what happened but it has lost its pizzazz. We specifically went in to get lunch and a few minor groceries. The prepared foods area is so sad now that we decided to get lunch somewhere else. The cheese counter selection is terrible now, its really cramped inside, and even the lighting is depressing. and we bought some cookies and my boyfriend said they are gross. The few specialty items I was searching for can now be found at other groceries stores so for the hassle of parking, higher prices, lack of quality I dont think its really worth the trips anymore. Maybe it will get better one day.

Visited San Diego and old faithful was exactly that! You can always find what you need at whole foods.

Since they are open earlier than most, I love this grocery store. We have a wide variety of their things, new fruit, and meats. Compared to those I went to earlier, their rates were also much more affordable. The staff is good too, and compared to other grocery stores, I find it refreshing to do my shopping here. Highly advised!

This would be a good location for a grocery store.

I was so surprised on 08-13-2021 the Hillcrest Whole Foods in San Diego does not require masks. Covid cases are on the rise everywhere, and at least half of the customers are not wearing masks inside the store despite CDC recommendations. I am sorry Whole Foods has decided to go against recommendations. Ralphs in Hillcrest carries organic produce and requires masks in the store.

Sad to say Whole Foods has changed drastically since Amazon took over. The quality has dropped, I felt like I was shopping at any other common grocery store. Will have to look for another high end grocery store

Used to be a cleaner, better organized store with a better selection. Then Space Cowboy Jeff Bezos/Amazon bought WF and took over a major portion of the building and changed the layout as well as the sidewalk traffic. The zoning laws alone should not permit this. The WF ambiance is gone. Amazon package delivery drivers, working for low wages, now line the street jamming Amazon mechandise into their own cars and blocking the sidewalk. The drivers also spend time fixing their cars on the street. Amazon took over the used-to-be-beautiful, main, corner, entrance. The isles are much more narrow. The shelving is frighteningly taller. The lighting is poor. The prices are still WF range prices. Parking is difficult. I went there for one item they apparently no longer stock at that store for the first time since the buyout. I will not be visiting again anytime soon.

Parking can be difficult at times in the small parking lot right off the street, there are parking spots above the store which helps sometimes. The store is smaller than most which adds the crowdedness on the inside. They have a pretty good selection but also run out of products frequently. Staff can be helpful if you get the right ones.

The checker and the bagger were so busy having a personal conversation that they didnt notice there was an actual human customer standing there.

It’s Whole Foods — but more awesome because of the location. Produce is amazing. Fish counter amazing. Juice bar amazing. Deli amazing. The only thing that sucks is that it’s very busy with a tiny congested parking lot, but yeah, it has a parking lot. TIP: Bring a back pack for your groceries and park a block out on the street.

Small, unorganized and nowhere near the stock of other stores. I walked in and ran out 5 minutes later. Like a war zone. Literally anxious. Terrible. Literally dropped my basket and bailed. Go to Ralphs, problem solved. No need to respond “manager “, over it as you should be.

I picked up my organic turkey a couple of days ago and it should make a wonderful feast. The store is being managed quite safely. A limited number of people are allowed and everybody is safely spaced. They have an amazing selection of cooked foods, salads etc and they offer full cooked meals.

Fruits are made WITH seeds. Why is it that oranges are being sold seedless with signs that say organic? It was genetically modified to begin with.

Not the same vibe we used to experience before amazon takeover but still a good store. We miss the bar and cafeteria at the entrance, which were both converted into pickup area.

Small, crowded, bad parking as a rule i think whole foods are ok but this one just doesnt make the cut. Unfriendly employees and it could use some extra cleaning. My opinion its substandard find another location.

Jeff Besos managed to ruin the bougiest grocery store out there in less than two years. We just returned a second piece of fish that was cut improperly and therefore unusable, along with spoiled pomegranate seeds. They also mistook Chilean sea bass for halibut, which is an important distinction, especially given that the former is endangered. Finally, customer service implied that we should resolve this ourselves.

Incredible, unique fish selection. The bakery is one of the best in the city & not expensive. Grand selection of prepared JP & CN food.

WFM was bustling on Thursday morning. I like shopping there at least once a month (I live 30 minutes away). Lots of organics and a great meat and fish market in store.

While there was a line this Labor Day Monday,, they have plenty of shade and it moved fairly fast. They also had nice fans moving the air. Parking is a bit of a challenge, but you can also head to the roof...or just wait a bit and someone will be out shortly. People tend to have a list and not do a lot of wandering. Got what I was looking for and got out. A great place!!!

Not my fave location... It was my first time here. The employees were very nice and helpful. The store is small but flows if you know where youre headed. If you park above, there is no line to get into the store, FYI. Make sure you leave through the correct way, I was stopped by an employee due to making a wrong turn after checkout. I absolutely loved the guy who checked me out though. He was very kind.

One of the worst Whole Foods out there. They advertise a “hot bar” but they never have it open. There’s no healthy food on the go other than a chinese food counter that is very oily and unhealthy. They have a sandwich bar that’s closed a lot more than open. Never been to a whole foods that doesn’t provide any fresh healthy options at all.AVOID.

If there was ever a designer grocery store, Whole Foods would be that store. If you want the best and freshest organic foods, this is your store. At times, this store can be busy with Amazon employees running around filling their orders for their Prime clients.

Love this location in the Hillcrest area of San Diego. Lots of vegan, gluten free options. Very expensive but well worth it!

Besides aisles to small, prices to high, no deli, slow and stoned cashiers id recommend it people waiting on their Dentist appt.

Same quality as other Whole Foods but two things:1. They are almost always out of stock on certain items. They need to better predict demand.2. Their product positioning is counterintuitive; it’s hard to find what you’re looking for.

This location is small but has a great selection and is well stocked. The pizza and sandwiches are always 💯

Well, I pretty probably dont have anything to add that hasnt been thought of already.- Its pricey- Theres a large selection of less common brands- Best selection of vegan/gluten free/generally healthier/earth friendly options across all islesI cant say much for the customer service. There are very helpful employees sprinkled throughout the store on any given day but as a whole... Eh.I deducted a full star soley based on my shopping trip today. I saw a decent sized cockroach in the bakery area. I watched him proudly scurrying about on a product table displaying cookies, muffins, croissants amongst other now inedible baked goods. Ill just leave it at that.Anyway, I will say the deli/prepared food area has some of the best mac n cheese (vegan and non), and other tasty choices I have yet to experience. I fear I must now worry about roaches possibly coming into contact with my food at some point in its production. :(

What happened? I’ve been shopping here for 11 years. Now that Amazon has taken over everything is wiped out and out of stock. The store is over packed with their shoppers. Even what’s left of the long time employees agree that the whole thing is a mess. Today was unfortunately my last trip as I can’t take it anymore. I’ve tried the Prime pickup and delivery a couple times and it’s the same problem where half my order will be out of stock.
