This small and special ice cream shop transported me back to my youth of corner stores and scoop shops where for a small price, I could get a taste of heaven. All the ice cream flavors at Famous Oasis are true to their names. My family thought we have truly found our dessert spot at Famous Oasis. Bravo for bringing back true ice cream.
One of our familys favorite ice cream shops! This place has been serving hand made ice creams and paletas to an enthusiastic home grown crowd for decades. Prices are super reasonable and flavor selection is stellar. That said, this place is about as unfussy as youre going to get. If youre looking for the newest gastronomic salted, charcoal-vanilla, truffle-olive oil gelato, this is NOT your place. But if youre wanting a straight forward strawberry-vanilla, rocky road, walnut, or coffee cream-based scoop, or a cantaloupe, watermelon, or pineapple fruit-based scoop, this is your place.Tips:1) Bring cash, they dont take cards2) Be prepared to either eat at one of the few slightly sticky plastic tables or on the curb, not a lot of seating3) Yes, its in a strip mall, youre in the right place4) Dont sleep on walnut, thats the quiet MVP right there. Scoop of that and another of banana and youre in business.
Been a fan of Oasis since the late 90s. Its a simple little local ice cream shop that makes their own ice cream and the flavors are unique. My absolute favorite item I get everytime is the Banana Dip. Its a banana ice cream bar dipped in chocolate then rolled in shredded coconut and almond bits. Highly recommended. 👍
Wow, a friend introduced this place and they have fresh homemade ice cream with some interesting flavors. For example the queso flavored ice cream. It actually has bits of cheese but surprising it tastes good. They also have gansito flavor.
Always the best!Cant find better ice cream than this in the SouthBay.
Definitely one of Southbays hidden gems. Been coming here about 20 years or so. Their ice cream has this rich, creamy, homemade taste which is just...amazing. Great prices. Try the watermelon and chocolate paletas!
One of the best spots of its kind in the area. The staff was very kind and attentive. The prices are well within reason for the quality.
Have the chocolate banana paleta - hmmm
Came two days in a row. Affordable prices. A single scoop was $2.10. Delicious home made treats without cream (sorbet) or with cream. Loved the banana and pistachio flavors. We also had pineapple, lime, strawberry and walnut. Many of the flavors are also in popsicle form which starts at $1.75. The menu lists guava but it isnt in season now. Would have loved to try that flavor.
Best icy sweet treat South Bay has to offer. Theyve been in business for over 40 years and are still going strong. Try their water-based flavors! Theyre refreshing and tasty!
My favorite place for fruit ice cream. The flavors are so strong and is super natural. Love feeling all the fruit bits inside my ice cream. I also love supporting small businesses like this especially since my boyfriend has been coming here since he was a kid. Cant wait till we get to bring our own kids here too. Make sure to bring cash since they dont take card.
Great ambiance & decor. the staff was sociable and attentive. this place has an awesome feel to it. feeling here is similar to a place in columbus i liked.
Great place to get a paleta de... a lot of natural flavors that we love. Sandia, tamarindo pepino con tajin. Delicious !!! Cash only though
The best ice cream ever! I live in walking distance, and my scale shows it. The Rice Pudding ice cream bar is my favorite. The Pistachio is real pistachio, and it is amazing. The Banana Dippers (banana ice cream dipped in chocolate and all fashion of goodies) is sinfully delicious. Remember to bring cash, they dont accept plastic. Just like their ice cream, Mrs. Juanita and her family are the sweetest people ever!
Best creamery,. They only need a square app or atm inside, instead of cash only.
Came here because I heard great things about the food and service (family owned). We walk in and the worker is on her phone. She becomes clearly bothered by us walking in. She then openly had an attitude with us. We asked if they had mazapán popsicles and she bluntly says no. We then asked what was available and she shortly said “ice cream”. Every response afterward was short, filled with attitude, and disrespectful. We asked her name. Rebecca had horrible customer service and I left the store without purchasing anything because of it. Hopefully next time she’s not there and I can experience the family level customer service I’ve been told about.
Delicious natural ice cream flavors that are all made by the owner in the shop. Great selection of scooped ice cream as well as popsicle bars.
Oasis has been my favorite Ice cream shop since I was a little girl. My family and I were sad to move from IB back in the 80s. Always good to visit when Im in town. So happy to see the business is still open. YUMMY.😎
Super delicious 😋
This nice cream is super good! Their selection is the standard mix of flavors you would imagine, but their also have some less than expected flavors which are quite good. Probably the best ice cream I had in the IB area, and I will be going back again
Great ice cream!
Very delicious homemade ice cream. Ive been coming here for years and the quality has always been great! They have both fresh fruit and cream bars along with the ice cream and this place never disappoints.
Kids love it
This is a staple of San Diego. The quality and the people are even better. I will drive to imperial just for this place!
Homemade fruit ice cream. Cash only. You can buy a pint for $6.50 which I highly recommend since a 2 cups cost $6.
Very good Mexican ice cream. Quality is always reliable. Only negative is you have to pay with cash. Who carries cash anymore?
Ive read good things about this place but it only turned out okay, it wasnt the best Ive ever had, just average. While it gets hot inside, you can choose from their many flavors of ice cream or bars, with reasonable prices.I opted for the mint chip and walnut flavors, both of which had not as sweet of a flavor I was hoping for.
Best ice cream anywhere. Family owned. I highly recommend going here several times. Variety is better than 31. Staff alway friendly and helpful.
Did someone say Cinnamon tres leches ice cream, Oh yes they did. For some reason today I strayed off the norm of my Blue Bottle Vietnamese coffee flavor. Honestly I dont think you can wrong with any flavor. The staff is super friendly. I love this location because I get to walk around the mission a little. The Ferry Building location is also worth trying.
I been coming to Oasis since the early 90s. I remember when their one scoop was .60¢ and now its like $2bucks. But its not about the price. Its about the flavors and quality of Oasis ice cream. Classic and authentic. Lets give a Big thanks to Mr. Juan for giving us yrs of good ice cream service.
A true gem of an ice cream shop! You wont be disappointed with their selection of ice cream or sorbets. The only downside is that they only accept cash so make sure to have that before visiting.
Friendly employees. Good Rocky Road.
Family run with great staff and ice cream. Everyone owes it to themselves to try this place out at least once! One of my favorite places to go to!
Been coming to this place since I was a kid. Some 30 years or so. Delicious homemade ice cream. Now my kid love it!
Best natural ice cream bars in San Diego since ever... for over 30 hrs since I have been in SD... Enjoy a well hidden place...
Treat yourself to a good home made ice cream. Simply delicious! Its good to see Mr. Andrades legacy lives on
Best home made ice cream, paletas and fresh sorbets in Imperial Beach. Nondescript store, cash payment, friendly service unchanged after years. Delicioso. Some unusual flavors like guava. Everything fresh, tasty and worth the trip. One table outside. Several inside.
We always go for the ice cream bars!!! Awesome flavors and always freshly made! This place is a gem!
Been here for years. Family owned. And its healthy so you can have a lot😊Make sure you try the Strawberry Cream bar, its like having Strawberries with whip cream but in a healthy way
Always a great experience there. They are super nice and have the BEST icecream! Love the walnut flavor
The ice cream here is authentic and does not taste artificial whatsoever. Just because its cash only doesnt mean it doesnt deserve a 5 star. Definitely worth driving 5 minutes to an ATOM and back.
Been going there for over 25 years, we knew the owner before he passed, what great Man.God bless and RIP
The owner makes delicious hand made ice cream and popsicles. All his ice cream is insanely creamy and the fruit based ones are tasty but not too sweet. The coconut is a must try. This place is cash only.
Looking forward to returning with my friends. The bill was fair.
Ice cream the best in SD.. All flavors and all natural!! Yum .. Keep it local 💕🌺
Love this ice cream store..this store been open alongtime.you must try strawberry natural ice cream bar.they have lots of flavors to choose from. Cash only
Excellent ice cream and the staff is super friendly. It may be far away and cash only, but the ice cream is worth it. Pretty reasonable, too.
This a local iconic ice cream spot. We brought our children for the first time 20 some odd years ago, now were bringing our two granddaughters. Love this spot!!!!
Dont worry if its busy, it is worth the wait. It has an awesome atmosphere.
Our favorite ice cream spot in the San Diego area. Super friendly staff and delicious hand made ice cream, sherbet and fruit pops. It is cash only so make sure you bring a couple bucks.
Natural handmade ice cream made with in season fruits.
Absolutely love this family run Imperial Beach institution. Come for the Paletas (Mexican fruit popsicles) my favorites are cantelope, coconut and chocolate dipped banana. The ice cream is fantastic as well. Cash only but totally worth it.
The ice cream is creamy, tasty and would go back right now! Everyone was excited to go and even more so, once they had the frozen treats in their hands!
My to go spot before any other for ice cream. Has been a family favorite as long as I can remember. When I bring home the ice cream bars in the brown bag, family already knows where I went!
Great ice cream with real fruit flavors. Also a good variety of real fruit bars. Its hard to eat grocery store ice cream after a visit here.
One of my favorite ice cream joints in San Diego since I was a child. Friendly staff! Happy customer
Homemade ice cream is the best. I didnt realize there was a place like this in the area. Im definitely coming back and trying other flavors.
The food was tasty. nothing but pleasant experiences here. it has a good feel to it.

Their banana ice cream is the best on the planet. And all the others are great too. Very friendly and charming service. A must-try!
The cantaloupe tho ... so yummy
Old school ice cream place. Strawberry and watermelon are the favorite flavors.
This place is a tiny little hole in the wall, but they make great ice cream. Highly recommend. Prices are reasonable but theyre cash only.
One of my favorite ice cream parlors in south san diego. Great traditional mexican style ice cream. So many options. Bomb 🍌 split a must try. I started going since i was 16 years old and now i take my daughters. Family owned and it has never lost its great customer service..👍🍦🍧

Love this ice cream with all my heart. Been coming here since my childhood

Paletas galore. All-natural and yummy.
Delicious homemade juice and ice cream bars
Best handmade ice cream in all the South West!
Homemade ice-cream and excellent in everyway. I would expect to walk out the backdoor and find a happy cow and on a bright and sunny farm. Its that exquisite and fresh.Anywhere else I would love to have rich chocolate desserts. But the coconut ice cream here is a must for me, every time. It has shaved coconut in it. I like!I hope this place exists forever.. can you open another somewhere on the corner of hipster and little italy? cental somewhere.. por favor?Thank you for all you do Oasis.
Always come here when Im in San Diego. Ice cream is perfectly creamy
If you are visiting Imperial Beach and looking for the best ice cream in town, skip the one at the pier and try this one instead.
Not nice as it used to be, girl behind register acted like she couldnt be bothered with serving us
I love it and completely recommend it.
Loved the gansito ice cream!
