Wife and I have been here on a family emergency visit. We’ve now stopped by 2X, she loves it because of the lee-chi shaved ice she gets (the Lee-chi flavoring is made by the owner), which reminds her of the same she’s had during visits to Asia. I had a mint-chip milkshake one day and a peach-pineapple smoothie another, both delicious. You also feel like you are in a Hawaiian shop while inside, due to the decorations. Plenty of free parking as it is in a small strip mall. A really good sushi place next door.

The owner is such a harder worker and I love supporting his shop because it reminds me of being in Hawaii! Our family’s favorite is getting the authentic fresh made Vietnamese coffee, Patbing Su and a variety of shave ice flavors! Let’s keep supporting Wahine!

They have a large selection of bubble tea, shaved ice, and more. It’s a good place to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Only gave 4 stars because owner charges the CUSTOMER to use their debit card. With money being VERY dirty I NEVER carry cash. In fact I dont know many people that do carry cash. Id rather be safe (germ wise) than carry cash. Something the owner may want to consider.

We drove 4 hrs to come here when my daughter decided she wanted snow cones for her bday. Being an adult, I ordered a coffee drink. The worst coffee ever!!!!!!!!!! But the shaved ice was so amazing that I immediately invested in a machine when I got home. I just wish I wouldve paid more attention to the brand of syrup they use. Also our 1st time trying boba. Its very popular, but not for us!!! Theyre balls of starch!!

We tried the Pineapple Hibiscus Black Tea and the Birds of Paradise. Both were so yummy! Cant wait to come again!

I got this pineapple ice cream served in a pineapple and it was the best thing I have ever tasted. Highly recommend coming here!!!

I got the large banana and coconut shaved ice over butter pecan ice cream! Enough to share! Very refreshing and tasty. Our waiter was very nice and made friendly conversation! We would love to go again :)

They were busy and there was only one employee. So as you can imagine it took a really long time to get our order. Besides that it was good and the employee also gave us a free sample of another type of dessert. So all-in-all, good spot just dont go if youre in a hurry.

Was pleasantly surprised by their shaved ice. It had great texture, lots of flavors and huge serving for a reasonable price. Only problem shop smelled really bad that day maybe some food got burnt because it was hard to sit inside. Hopefully it was a one time thing. Lots of other drinks and desserts on the menu that look tempting.

I got 4 Kahuna’s (8 oz.) and 1 Halo Halo and it came out to about $19 which is a decent price for the amount of shaved ice you get. The flavors are really concentrated and they apply a lot of flavor so that you’re never eating just straight ice.

Always the BEST! If you come here and love passion fruit - try the smoothie with Boba. Beware you will be hooked for life once you taste it!!

The Taiwanese Milk snow is a special and amazing experience. Like the best vanilla ice cream only textured like a cloud. Man it was great.

A great hole in the wall shave ice place. I love the people here and especially love the product. They are always friendly and their shave ice is great with the options of ice cream in the bottom, sweetened and condensed milk on top, etc. They have some really good flavor combination standards to choose from, many of which I have tried and loved. They have indoor seating, but not much. They also have a few plastic lawn chairs out front. Dont forget your punch card when you go.

They machines they have create the softest shaved ice Ive ever had. They have a ton of flavors and they are always friendly and accommodating. If you want more of the flavor as you get towards the bottom of the shaved ice they will top you off at no charge.

Ive sadly never had shaved ice prior to coming here. But now that Ive tried it, I want it more often. I wish I could find a place like this in the Bay Area. Somebody tell me please! Now if its this good in San Diego, I cant imagine how good it is in Hawaii.I didnt realize how creamy shaved ice could be, and how creative you can get with flavors. Next time Im in SD, Im for sure going to this place. And hopefully one day, Ill make my first trip to Hawaii.

This is true Shave Ice like you would find on the island. The syrups, though, are commercially bought and not made fresh like Im used to when I visit Hawaii. They also have milk teas with boba that Im particularly fond of and this is normally why I visit

Loved the ambiance! This will definitely be my new go to spot when Im in the mood for boba tea or snow cones. Prices are good & you get a heaping amount of snow cone.

Terrible service!! Walked in about 10 minutes before closing. Had some questions as it was our first (and last) time there. My son ordered his ice cream and then the man behind the register tells us we need to hurry up so he can close at 9pm. WHAT?? Paid for the one scoop and walked out with nothing for me, my husband, MIL, and 2 other kids. Easily a $30-$40 order turned into a $3 sale because the rude man behind the register was impatient. Will stick to Baltimore Snowball in Escondido from now. Their prices are so much more reasonable and the service is outstanding unlike the service at Wahine Kai. Someone should teach these owners/employees the spirit of Ohana and Aloha.

Pretty good shave ice with a lot of choices for flavors and creative combinations. The flavors and softness of the ice arent quite as good as the best places in Hawaii, but theyre pretty close.

We love going here. It can get busy and there isnt much seating. Great for a treat on a warm day.

Great place for an afterschool treat or just a quick stop for you!Definitely DEFINITELY recommend enjoying it there because you get the best bang for your buck. I love the BIRDS OF PARADISE!! It has that tamarind powder over top. Honestly, if its your first time, youll think eh its alright IN THE BEGINNING but once you get past the mountain of creamy shaved ice, on the bottom is pineapple coconut icecream that just blends so well with the last of your ice!Runs about $6 for a large but i think you get at least 2 scoops of thriftys ice cream at the bottom! Yum!Ive had great service with the individuals that make my order. The man that runs the place always seems like he isnt happy with his employees but whatever!

OMG this is real shaved ice, not snow cones, and run by Hawaiians. They even have for $5.75 the island original Halo Halo that has red bean paste, coconut strips, jellies, ice cream, meat balls, spam, rice. Toppings include mochi.Boba drinks are served here.Tables inside and bench outside for your enjoyment of this delicious treat. Great for families.

Its still better than most places around, but the syrup is weaker and thinner than before. Its also very warm in there.
