Very popular corner. Inside is so huge! There are few outdoor tables against the barricades. I was a bit paranoid with how close the cars from the street can get to the barricades as it gets rowdy. Also, if you’re in line, be careful from the water dripping from the AC from the floor above.We got a single scoop waffle cone of butter pecan ($5.95). A single scoop is actually 3 scoops! They are very generous in their portions. I saw them pack on 3 regular ice cream scoops.We also got a flight ($6.95). Consist of 4 flavors which are single ice cream scoops inside a plastic container. We got Cookie Monster, horchata, lavender honeycomb and Pb salted fudge.All their ice cream flavors are super creamy and tasty. The lavender honeycomb had a hint of lavender with crunchy honeycomb chunks. Horchata tasted just like the drink.

The single scoop is really 3 generous scoops. Its a rediculous amount of ice cream for one; best for sharing. The ice cream was rich, creamy, and chewy. The hype for me was that the ice cream is homemade. The waffle cone was great. The smell inside the shop was weird, but maybe it was the cleaner used or Halloween decorations. Just an observation.

Unpopular opinion here (apparently) but I didnt really like this place. Maybe I just got the wrong flavor, but I just wasnt a fan. I had the one flavor in cup of the Almond Joy. It was waaaayyyy too sweet. I couldnt even finish half of it. I also thought it would be vanilla ice cream but it was actually chocolate. That brings me to my next point. I wish each flavor had a description of what it actually was. But they have so many (maybe too many) flavors to choose from that if they did that, it would take everyone forever to read through it. I also wish there was less ice cream (said no one ever) but the one flavor is actually two scoops of ice cream. I just assumed one flavor meant one scoop, so feedback for management - maybe lower the price and make a one scooper.

All homemade. Less than 7 days from cow to store. 70 flavors. Charged by the number of flavors, not the scoop and you wont be disappointed! Ice cream is delicious and bigger than I anticipated! This is 2 flavors.

Awesome incredible tastes homemade. Everything you’ve read in the reviews - yes yes yes. Made on sight and very friendly and helpful staff!! Hands down worth the stop and much better then any branded store that might be nearby. Had the death by chocolate and salted Carmel was my choice for today and was just great. Solid and not filled with air. You definetly get every pennies worth in truly home made ice cream.

My husband and I had heard really good things about this place, but unfortunately we had left town by the time they were reopened from COVID.During one of our recent trips back to Cali we were randomly in the area as they were opening and knew it was fate that we must try them!Boy oh Boy we are so glad that we did! At their downtown San Diego location they have over 70 different flavors available that they make in house!!All of their ice creams are egg free and they even have dairy free options. One cool thing we found out was that the milk they use has a 7 day or less cow to machine time!! That means they use the freshest milk around!! They even use pecans from a local farm and are made fresh just for them! You can tell the owner “scoop dog” takes pride in quality and customer service.As we were there ordering a “regular” walked in and was inquiring about a custom ice cream flavor she wanted to have created for her husband who would be coming home from the military and she wanted to surprise him with it. The owner said he’d come up with a special batch just for him! Its a graham cracker flavored ice cream which is absolutely heavenly and taste like you’re eating honey graham crackers. Theres even a little crunchy grit from the graham crackers, delicious crunchy honey comb pieces for more honey flavor and bits of chocolate. When you go this is a mandatory flavor that you must get!!We will definitely have to go back to try more flavors. Take your family or just take yourself and get a flight of ice cream so you can have some fun!!

Was looking for some sugar free ice cream in the area, found this place. They had two flavors, strawberry and coffee with fudge. Great flavors for sugar free. Im sure the real stuff is even better. Ill be back! Parking is a pain downtown but besides that cant go wrong.

Sooo many flavors here. The Creamsicle ice cream is LEGIT- like the orange sherbert, and the vanilla, separately. Not just one flavor termed creamsicle. Also ordered a brownie sundae to go and Abril there hooked it UP- as in, this container isnt going to close so I gotta eat some off the top first. Wish they would expand up to Northern CA!

As a lactose intolerant person I have grown used to having 1 option at ice cream places, maybe 2 if I am lucky. I think there were 5 here and they all looked good. Had the mango sorbet in a chocolate dipped waffle cone. Very good combination that I would definitely get again. Friendly staff, easy in and out, and a big selection of quality product. Not to be missed if you have the time.

Okay so for the last few trips Ive been missing out... Been going to the fancy name brand shop down the road... A coworker suggested this place... Let me tell you, it is an absolutely life changing experience their Cookie Monster in a sprinkle chocolate dipped bowl will help you find lifes meaning.Im mildly lactose intolerant and this is worth every minute of punishment i may have to endure. This is among one of the reasons I cant move to San Diego... Id be full on diabetic in a month. Definitely go here, dont pass it up. You will not be sorry.

A ton of different flavors! The amount of flavors make it tough to choose but the real struggle of choosing is the fact that the ice cream is so good! Excellent service and they allow you to sample. Thats what made it tough because everything I sampled tasted good!

They had so many flavors to choose from and wanted them all! I had pistachio and banana cream pie ice cream. We also tried cookies ncream, Twix, strawberry, and a strawberry cheesecake/banana cream pie Scoop Dogg shake. The flavors very creamy and delicious! One thing they offer not listed in the pictures was ice cream sandwiches. We didnt ask about them, but they were about $4-5.

This ice cream is FANTASTIC! I left a pint in my freezer for a month, still made all other ice creams taste like bland, icy, slop. if you say you can beat it, I’m not hearing that nonsense. It’s the best, it’s a fact.

We were visiting from Philly and we were walking through Gaslamp and found this place. They offer so many flavors which can be a little overwhelming. The scooper was so friendly. I was really surprised by the amount of ice cream that we got. My son loved every bite. I love how clean the shop was.

Blown away by how good this ice cream is. The staff gave us the story of where it comes from, how it’s fresh local dairy, made fresh daily etc. and it absolutely lives up to its story. I ordered the thin mint flavor, and my wife got the Oreo dough. Both flavors were Extremely creamy and smooth, the mix in ingredients were flavorful and tasted great. I’ll definitely be back any time I’m in the area.

My boys and I went here and looooooved it. I’m not usually an ice cream fan, but seeing the other customers walk out with their cups and cones… I decided to try it. The ice cream is so creamy and very rich, so be prepared! I highly recommend you talk to the staff about your choices and service size before you order because the menu is overwhelming. This is a popular ice cream shop I believe due to its location and prices. The quality of the ice cream itself is not that good, too many artificial food colors and other low cost ingredients. But the selection is quite extensive.

The guy working this night was so friendly and patient with my family. We’re from Texas, and there are ice cream shops all over, but this by far is the BEST ICE CREAM I’ve ever had! The texture was indescribable, but great. I got “one scoop” but it took me like 3 minutes to get down to where I was in the picture I attached. There was so much ice cream that it was hanging so far over the cone (not complaining at all!!) I got the Horchata flavor- tasted just like authentic horchata. So pleased with our visit.

Can only speak on the vegan flavors pistachio and dark chocolate. It was definitely subpar. They were all out of the other non-sorbet vegan flavors. They have a ridiculous number of flavors which is awesome for everyone else. Our double scoop portion was way less than other customers ordering the same.

Dark Chocolate Chunk & Banana Cream Pie!

So many flavors to choose from..... family got the Banana Cream Pie, Coconut Cream Pie, and Confetti Cake. They all tasted good, they were rich in flavor, creamy and thick. It was a meal in itself, and all a huge serving reasonably priced, well definitely be going again next time were in town!

Not sure what the fuss is about. Im more of a Gelato person though. American ice cream has too much ice (water in it).

Wow! Large portions (too big actually) but the flavors were superb. We tried chocolate, bourbon butter pecan, banana cream pie, and coconut cream pie. Wish we had tried this on our first day in town and not our last....so gooood.

This is truly the most amazing ice cream weve ever had. Not only are their flavors unique to them and extremely creative, they taste the best. My daughter said the mint ice cream was the best shes ever had in her life, so creamy and the perfect consistency. Their service was very nice too. Juliana was especially accommodating.
