This office was recommended by my doctor who moved out of California. First of all - scheduled an appointment with Dr Thich but was seen by another doctor... nobody told me about changing the doctors... then came in to adjust the glasses I bough at the office and a young lady at the front desk took my glasses and after a few tries - my glasses still wouldn’t fit correctly! All she told me that if she keeps adjusting them - the glasses would just break?! I understand but at the same time they used to fit!!! She had no idea what she was doing... very rude as well... and the glasses cause me a headache now... very disappointed! Will not be returning!
Great doctor but I hated her staff, rude and talks too much.
The very first thing Dr. Thich said to me was that she was not able to help me. Thats never a good start to an appointment.I tried explaining repeatedly to Dr. Thich that despite my eye condition, my vision can still be corrected with soft contact lenses. All I needed was an update to my prescription.Despite me saying this, Dr. Thich didnt even bother to try to help me. She didnt do a refraction test, didnt test out different parameters of an updated prescription, or anything else. She did still try to charge me full price for a contact lens fitting.I kept explaining that other optometrists had not treated me like that, and instead tried to make my vision better, but she was adamant there was nothing she could do. She insisted the data said there was nothing she could do. Because of that she never bothered to try to help me. Thats shameful.Three days later I went to a different optometrist who, despite my diagnosis, tested several different adjustments to my prescription, and sent me home with two different updated pairs of trial soft contact lenses to test which one works best for me. Both correct my vision better than my current prescription from 12 months ago.Im sure that Dr. Thich is technically competent enough to have done the same thing and adjusted my prescription. She just couldnt be bothered to care and actually try. She did waive the cost of the contact lens fitting but only after I insisted that since she hadnt tried to update my prescription, it was unreasonable for me to have to pay for that. I left my appointment with her feeling terrible and completely ignored.
I’m sure we can all agree that adjusting to the pandemic life has not been very easy. The disruptions to our daily routines and livelihoods have added heavy levels of stress and discomfort that make us have to view our days differently. It is always welcome, however, to interact within our new parameters with people who go out of their ways to make an experience as normal and pleasant as possible. That is what Dr. Lam and Dr. Thich have done. My eye exam was thorough and performed with care. Explanations were easy-to-understand and all of my questions were responded to with attentiveness and patience. They also have a nice and varied selection of frames (I’m so excited about picking up my new glasses soon!) 🙂
Amy was kind enough to adjust my frames that I had sat on the previous day. Expecting to be charged for her service, she told me “no worries,” and that it wasn’t a problem -- it was my first time at AccuVision Optometry. I donned my glasses, now with perfect fit, and saw clearly how this small gesture of kindness was indicative of how she conducts her business as a professional, and, more importantly, a good human being. Thank you Dr. Thich.
I really lucked out here. Being new to San Francisco I just took a shot in the dark and AccuVision turned out to be a great little place. Very friendly and helpful front person and a patient, down to earth optometrist. Their website makes it easy to schedule an appointment and their glasses selection is great. If you like small and unpretentious, youll love this place.
Super friendly staff. They helped me fix my favorite pair of sunglasses and didnt charge me a thing! Will definitely be coming back.
Great experience. My previous ophthalmologist left me confused and gave me a false prescription. Dr. Thich was super helpful and clarified everything. Getting an appointment was very easy and the receptionist helped work out all the details with my insurance.
Amy is the best Optometrist Ive ever had. Very knowledgeable and personable. Her staff (niece) is also very helpful and communicative. Once, Dr. Thich had a conflict with an appointment I had booked - she called almost a week before my appointment and asked if I could reschedule. She advised she would keep my appointment in the event I could not reschedule. How nice is that? Most doctors would just cancel your appointment.
My 11 month old scratched my cornea and Dr. Thich (pronounced Tich) fit me in for a visit right away and she was friendly, thoughtful and gentle. I wish I had known her when I was a kid, for my previous corrective vision issues. Good eye doctors are surprisingly hard to come by. I would recommend her to everyone, she was that wonderful.
Dr. Thich educated me about the changes in my vision after an extremely thorough & efficient examination. You can use Zoc Doc to schedule appointments online if you prefer not to call. Great front desk staff! They were very helpful about knowing my vision insurance coverage beforehand so that they could give me correct pricing on frames I was interested in. Received multiple reminders that my frames were ready for in-store pick-up. Love their later hours as I can schedule appointments without them interfering with work.
Dr Amy Thich was friendly, pleasant, and efficient. I just needed an eye exam in order to renew my drivers license and she had me in and out in 20 minutes. Convenient and easy!
The optometrist was clearly well-trained and an expert in his field of study. He seemed more knowledgeable about the eye than my former eye doctor who practiced at the University of California San Francisco Department of Ophthalmology!
Great optometry! Dr Amy Thich and her staff are very professional and always friendly.
Friendly and helpful staff, nice selection of frames, reasonable prices.
Professional, courteous and well informed. She was able to find super high index transition lenses for me though at a wickedly high cost.
Dr. Thich is friendly and professional, and the glasses in the store are very affordable.
After 25 years of seeing various optometrists for poor vision I can say the optometry service here was more than adequate. My contact lens exam was quite thorough and all of my questions answered.
Terrible service
