I am Thai, and this place is Cambodian, but its definitely an oasis for my spices and ingredients that I need for Thai dishes. I dont think the average non-Asian will find this place appealing because its set up in an old fashioned, no frills and great values. The store also offers fresh ready-made dishes in the refrigerator, many street-types snacks and meals including fresh made papaya salad. Its definitely a haven for southeast Asians looking for back-home items that are hard to find elsewhere.I go there every week. πππ
Authentic market with delish takeout shredded papaya salad. This is a small family run market. It is more or less the opposite of a Ranch 99.
You can find many Thai stuffs in this grocery store even fresh Cha-om, basil, and streamer pot.
I just got off the phone with yall. No food stamp e b t. Thanks for the answer. Keep up the good work
Great ethnic food and plants
Items are not regularly priced. Last week, sarong was $10 and now the young man in the counter charged me $20. I also bought a live plant and when I asked how much, he said $6 and when I checked my receipt when I got home, he charged me $7.
A lot of asian items for you to pick.Favorite papaya salad.
I love papaya salad here.
Excellent customer service. The girl at the counter is smart, prompt and reliable. Loved the store, prices and the papaya salad. Would highly recommend this store.
Great market has everything my wife needs for all her Thai dishes very friendly people and the prices are very good
The shop is now currently reopened it was back in business since January2018, so feel free to stop by to check it out!It really is a cute little grocery store with a mix of ingredients and misc items for sale without having to go to far.Worth the quick stop when I need some limes, sauces, and spicesππ
Some staff didnt wear a mask, they doesnt care about pandemic.
Store is small but you can find most of what youre looking for.
So good
Great place to shop for difficult to find Lao cuisine ingredients. They offer live specialty herb garden seedlings too.
Got the most comfortable King sized blanket here and all of our Laotian ingredients here.
Nice to have Cambodian storre in area
Great place to grab southeast Asian ingredients...great papaya salad, and snacks.
Small little cambodian/oriental shop they sell.. canned food. Frozen meats and veggies. Most of these items are southeast asian food ect..
Tucked away in a small building complex, this place is a hidden gem. Whether you are looking for a quick bite of fresh made Papaya Salad or hard-to-find Asian items like mortar & pestle and woven baskets for sticky rice, this is the place for you!
Geat food would come again
Very few international produce. Hard to find as you have drive around a building to get to the entrance. Plenty of parking
Its a cozy SE Asian grocery store. Carries items that I cant get at Ranch 99, such as kaeng pah, home made Laos sausage, or my wifes favorite ivy gourd (Pak Tum Lung). They also sell made to order papaya salad for $5! Just ask the cashier. They grab the produce and bring it to their back room to chop and mix. Default is Laos/Cambodian style. Just sad they dont also sell sticky rice and grilled pork/beef :(.
They carry stuff i cant find at other asian markets in the area. Plus they sell Loas style papya salad for $5! Cant beat that price!!
Nice Variety Neighborhood Asian Market
Right now ., store close for renovations.. no details for reopening again... you can look on self it βis empty.
I can find Kiefer lime leaves and other hard to find ingredients here.
I have lived in Thailand 26 years before moving to north america. This is the only shop that makes papaya salad that takes me back to the street side vendors of Bangkok. authentic lao/isarn style papaya salad with no compromise on the authenticity of the ingredients. They make it like it is back in Thailand and Laos. They also sell some authentic spices, herbs, seasoning sauces and curry paste very specific to thailand. Most of the other Asian shops sell lemon grass but no kafir lime leaf. It is the only store that I know that sells Holy Basil and Hot Basil. You can buy galangal, finger root, banana flower, string beans fresh, bamboo shoots. I wish this place would open a outdoor stall selling papaya salad, grill chicken (kai yang). Just some plastic tables and chairs would do :). The store could be better organized. Its a small hole in the wall, but it has some unique products not found any other Asian store in San jose area. I hope you guys expand for the larger SEA community!
Lime leaves, frozen bamboo grubs, and other hard to find specialty foods.
Not a bad little place to look for things. The items are very limited but you need some certain Cambodian goods, this place just might have it.
