SJ Halal Market’s Nihari (only on Sundays) and (Goat) Biryani are to die for, as are their kebabs! The best kept secret spot for outstanding food. Definitely recommend to anyone who wants to try the authentic Indo-Pak cuisine. Also the owner/chef is very generous with his portions and always gives a warm welcome to everyone!

Small shop with a lot of people calling their orders in which is a good idea if you dont want to wait. Its a small shop so the line can get long fast. The staff is very polite and work fast and accommodate your requests well. They also make fresh food for take out only and have some items for frozen take away also. They have lot of items available in frozen isle from somosas, nuggest, patties both chicken and beef, kabobs etc... They have a few assigned parking spots in front.

Too EXPENSIVE!! I do not get the price of meat at this store. It is a very ordinary store in an ordinary location but prices are at least 30% higher! Grilled chicken at 12$ while in the area they are sold at 5 to 8$. Same for other products ( meat @ 12$/lb while the average is 9$/lb in cleaner halal meat stores in better locations)

If you want Clean hand cut meat this is the shop to go to. Have been going here for more than a decade and twice a month. Have not run into any meat issues. They also prepare really good goat biryani. They make uncooked shami kababs that are a staple in my house. Recommended.

Been buying meats from this store for about a year. Always got top-notch meat. Highly recommended. Their sell fresh marinated chicken which are super easy to BBQ.

Very expensive prices are double to other stores

I went to this store to buy goat meat. First time, they gave me lamb meat. Second time, it was beef. I realized when I get back home after cooked. Also they stole the weight 2.3 lb was only 1.5 lb. No mask was wearing in the store by their Muslim customers. I will see how I can report to county or under cover to crack down their cheat. They charged what they want but should be honest.

Great place for Halal meats. The guys there are super friendly and they even saved my sons hat that he mustve dropped months ago. They gave it back to me today 👍

Its one of my favorite place. If you like halal meat and spices in reasonable prices you can go there. Here always you can buy ready-made hot Pakistani food.

They sell good quality mutton (goat meat), chicken, and beef. The meat choices are aplenty, but seemed a bit over priced, considering the Bay area. At least, youd get chicken or beef for a lot less, if you went to other stores, Im pretty sure. Nevertheless, good meat shop on North Capitol Avenue, located very near Alum Rock VTA terminal station, which makes it an unanimous choice for halal-meat lovers, especially if you are from the Indian sub-continent.

Their kebabs are great and price is very reasonable.

We buy chicken ang beef, and ground meat from this store. Quality of meats are excellent and they taste much better than those on known stores and supermarkets. As for prices, we weren’t able cheaper for halal meat in the area.Customer service is excellent and they are very friendly.

I went three two times . Both times, they sold lumb as goatbmeat. They are cheaters.

Pretty decent store for buying Indian groceries. The store is small and good for quick shopping. They have meat as well. Chicken, mutton available. I bought chicken twice here but it was not fresh. So I would not buy meat here unless it is urgent.

This is a nice place to pick meats. Meats sold here are beef, chicken, lamb and goat. They also recently started serving cooked food like kebabs and biryani. Recently, the service has gotten better here. Last time I went in for chicken, the prepped the meat really good. I would recommend a little cleanliness though. Its kind of disgusting when you see rotting onions and ginger lying in one corner of the store.

Very lovely people who run this place. Very courteous. You get every meat with your desired cut and size. Frozen sausages and patties too.

Goat tends to be very old, texture is hard even after cooking it for a while, and extremely smelly. Weve had to throw out the legs of goat on 3 out of the 2 occasions. Stick to chicken and ground beef from there, which seems fine but definitely not goat.

When you buy more quantity of meat like 3-4 pounds, they will get a big piece from the back and cut it for you. They do it to get rid of the old meat they have. So make sure they cut it from the meat that is placed at the display counter. They have great meat on display but this really disappointed me.

Go there for good, fresh meat. Good thing is that the whole chicken is chopped by hand. Way better than have it machine cut.

Am a true blue-blooded Hyderabadi and I know it all about Goat Meat! This place is a cheat. Trust me, the owner is unempathetic and loots people in the name of cash and the quality is, honestly, ridiculous. He doesnt care about customer service or satisfaction. All he cares for his business. Stay away from this place. I mean it.

Good selection of fresh and frozen Halal foods here. I got some Hariss Ranch Burgers from here. Very good. Prices are a little on the high side though. They also sell wings (un-cooked) here which are also very good.

Their machine is down when youre trying to use a card twice I went there and that happened I wanted some lamb couldnt get none they dont really have much I was looking for some baklava with pistachios you know some Middle Eastern snacks you know some dates you know but you dont have much I was hoping for some Falafel for some pita bread you know but I was disappointed they dont really have much on the meat they just have like a little bit

He dont have respect towards women .I took extra lean ground beef .he has given me normal one but charged price for extra lean when I asked him next time he behaved rudely saying u would bought it back .I heard health department has closed his shops couple months of back due to un hygenic and they caught briyani in cooler so thats the reason they closed his shop he is such a big lier when we asked him he said due to heater problem.dont risk by taking anything from these shop and thanks for those who are giving genuine comments

Over charged me and not a good quality meat. He keep only frozen meat bcoz he is not selling meat that much . His meat sale is very low than other thats why meat is not fresh. He charge ne 10.99 per pound. If u buy meat from restaurant that will cost u less.
