Amazing taste. I ordered samosas, panner butter masala and malai kofta. Every dish was delicious 🤤It is a must try restaurant for all vegetarians friends out there.
I love this place awsome customer servicefood and sweets delicious
Great Samosas, Jalebis, parathas., Lamb curry
Sweets are really good chum chum, bengali sweets must try them. Really juicy and delicious
Convenient and good food! Improved service. I like their Samosa Chaat!
Love the korma. However, never ask an Indian how hot something is. For a westerners taste, they really dont know. Order hotness level with that in mind.I let him make it normal, and it did not take the top of my head off, but it was pushing my spice level.Jewel of India food is really good. And easy to deal with.
Very good Samosas and some Indian desserts. Bought a huge tray for a party, did not disappoint.
Both quantity and quality of food is terrible!
Recently purchased a pound of Gajrela. It was nothing more than a bunch of Carrots mixed with sugar.Bad quality.
Mr Toor Aviator multitalented thanks for yesterday great snacks and sweets
Not as good as Brampton or Southall. I guess decent for the US
My experience was with the cupcakes so delicious.
Deserves no stars. Both quality and quantity are poor. Pulao was tasting extremely bad with half cooked rice. Please mention the serving size in the menu. Overall pathetic food.
Stuff you wont find elsewhere (alsi Pinjiri) that is tasty enough. Only tried the sweets. Great variety
I visit this shop occasionally to pick some special tasty fresh desi ghee sweets like burfi, besan ladoo, jalebis, kalakand and milkcake as well . Besan ladoo is my one of favorite sweet . . 🙏
Ordered food for the first time Togo. Mango chicken with rice and Naan bread. Food stayed hot for a very long time. This is the best Indian food I have had! Highly recommend. Gentlemen were very nice and packaged food up nicely.
Awesome place . Have been going here for 20 years now .No one in the bay area makes sweets like Jewel of India does .
I started coming here in high school been here dozens of times and they even know my order 90% of the time already. The owner is a kind respectful professional man. I have to say this is by far the best Indian Food spot Ive been to! Its the first place I ever tried their food and got hooked. Ive been to many different locations and although all delicious this is my favorite I feel as if it was home cooked. Ive brought many friends and Im indeed a loyal customer! Everyone Ive brought loved it. I feel the service is fair but I dont have complaints about it I like that they dont hover over you the food is spectacular and the prices are reasonable! I definitely recommend you go here!
Ordered delivery through Doordash so the review is about the food only.I had ordered Karahi Chicken and Lamb Korma which came with a side of rice each.First impression was that the quantities of both the curries were comparatively lesser than what I have received from other Indian restaurants in U District. The Karahi chicken had 5 pieces of small/medium boneless chicken, while the Lamb korma had 6/7 minuscule pieces of meat.Taste wise both curries get 1/5 stars because the chicken gravy just tasted like some canned tomato sauce and ketchup mixed with some onions/bell peppers/chicken while the lamb korma gravy did look creamy but was just tasteless and didnt even taste creamy in a good way. The lamb pieces didnt even taste like lamb or any meat for that matter; it was like someone boiled the lamb separately and just threw few tiny pieces in the gravy without any meat flavor. The best tasting thing was the jeera rice which came as a free side. It tasted decent and fresh.2 stars because the quantity of rice was good and the food didnt taste spoilt but for sure, Im never ordering from here again.
Only ordered sweets from here. Quite well made.
Very deceiving from the outside, but very nice and clean inside. The three sauces provided ; are delicious. Moderate prices and friendly Jewel of India . Plus, they delivery. This place definitely is gonna be a go to spot. The only issue is the parking, but I can look past that due to the all around atmosphere inside.
This place is my favorite. I eat in plenty of restaurants but to this one I constantly return again and again. The team is very chummy and the cuisine they offer is so flavorful. I am always happy to have a nice dinner here. I recommend this place with pleasure.
Authentic North Indian food, didn’t try the sweets yet. Thali and biriyani was awesome.
Very good paranthas to try. Onion kulcha was delicious.
Great collection of sweets. Their samosas are also very good.
Grat place for Indian sweets. The jalebis are awesome
Hot food was cooked fresh to order and customer service was great. The sweets and pastries are already prepared and very delicious.Beautiful ~ Beautiful ! photographs inside the restaurant. Highly recommend restaurant.
The place offers a great variety of delicious food. I like dining here. Staff members are always friendly, prices are affordable and the spot is always clean.
Delicious fresh desertsA must try 👍
I really love their food. I always get fantastic service here. The place is always clean and the cashiers are always very welcoming. Highly recommended.
Love their adorable ( great deal) in their buffet... . Great variety not only for buffet is small but filled with choices of really great authentic Indian food... Huge variety of their pastries.. Love the Nan bread and mango lassi
I give this spot two thumbs up. Next time Ill be back with my relatives.
Good Indian food. This place is small with a free tables and is mostly set up as a take out restaurant. The lunch buffet is simple yet satisfying. They also have a good spread of Indian sweets
This restaurant has excellent food in this area. They are very friendly and the food is always fresh. I recommend this restaurant if u are in the area.
They took great care of our needs. They have really good quality mithais at a very reasonable rate. I love their punjabi ladoos and pheniyas.
I ordered Chole Bhature . I appreciate them taking the order as it was almost their closing time but the bhaturas were very thick.
Love this place. Casual, clean, really excellent food. Never had a bad dish. Salud.
Certainly a top place in the area. Nothing but pleasant experiences here. Atmosphere is similar to a place in Columbus I loved.
We have been at this place few times. Its a small place but their food and sweets both are good. We love their Samosa Chaat. They also have lunch buffet but we didnt tried it yet. Being a small place, choices in buffet are limited. We always get out Diwali sweets from here and never get disappointed.Only thing lagging is their customer interaction skills which is generally the case with almost all Indian restaurants.
Good place for Indian food. I visited here twice with my friends and both times the food served was freshly cooked. We took some sweets as well and they were also fresh. Overall a nice place to have lunch and dinner.
Very good for catering at home for small parties. The menu is great. Food is good. Prices are genuine
Not so expensive, but taste is also not great .. pretty ok food .
This is THE place for all Indian special stuff......we have been going to Jewel Of India for the last 12+ years, and have never been disappointed. They catered to our family functions, and they are awesome. Great staff, who are always very nice, and helpful. We always get samosas from here, at least 5-6 times a year if not more. Last month, I took samosas to my school, and they were so popular that more than 30 samosas were gone within an hour! I congratulate them on their great service and commitment to the community!
Absolutely waste of money. 1 or 2 items will be decent but overall you will not find worth spending your money here.I had a buffet and the rice was uncooked, no wheat roties and most disappointed when I complained to the owner he Didn’t even bothered to Say SORRY.Still if you want to visit then plz go ahead
First time Ive ever tried Indian food, was pleasantly good. Excellent tea.
Exquisite northern style Indian food. I love the spiciness and awesome flavors of the menu items. Somewhat limited menu but a real bargain for the $11 bucks!
Indian Sweets are awesome here. I have been going here for more than 20 years. Dont forget to try the Samoas on your next visit. 🙃
Got here for lunch. Food was delicious, very nice environment, personnel. Will definitely come again.
Take out review:This review is specifically geared towards the food that I order for takeout. One of the best things I do at the Jewel of India restaurant his phone ahead order a meal and go pick it up. That allows me to be in and out in less than 5 minutes. I can take my mom home and enjoy it in the comfort of my own dining room.I typically like to order the butter chicken with white rice and naan. I will say that if I dont specify the level of spiciness in the dish they will typically make it pretty hot. While I dont mind spicy food, sometimes food thats too spicy can kind of ruin the meal. This is definitely a no-frills restaurant. If you decide to dine in, I would say the service is fairly slow. And from my experience I rarely see the restaurant as being very crowded for dine-in visitors. There are always customers picking up food or ordering food to go, rarely do they dine in. Part of that might have to do with the location. Its located in a shopping center on the corner of Alum Rock and Capitol Expressway. There is a pool hall next door that sometimes has some shady looking characters hanging around outside. It is also difficult to find parking sometimes.
The Butter Chicken was wonderful! Attentive staff. Nice atmosphere.
Used to be amazing & reliable cooking. Recent 2016 Quality has gone down. Food too dry or over salty. Needs more back to basic good cooking. I have hope they will get better again. The staff are not as welcoming as they used too. Too much hard work?
Good food, fast service and courteous wait staff? this place has all of those! i would recommend this place for anyone thats looking for a nice indian restaurant!
Pretty tasty food.Average everything else.Location takes away from experience. They could easily make it a 5 star experience cuz the food is that good.Charge more, hire motivated people, kick out the riff Raff, hose off the sidewalk out front.Welcome toy Country, now...get with the American program.
Stopped in on a monday i think. nothing but great experiences here. it has a nice feel to it.
Very tasty food. Good service. Great catering They have traditional indian sweets.
Not really willing to given out reward points for five star and it was a fake, the Indian woman working there kept saying come back later and will add the points. I went there three times to see if she is saying the truth. First time, I purchased food from the kitchen. Second time, I just purchased a dessert. She said I have to purchase the kitchen food, ( not dessert)to the original she missed out to put on fivestar app points. The third time, I purchased kitchen food she said next time I will add back altogether. There is no next time because no respect to customer. The food taste from kitchen is less than average. The dessert is okay though.
Consistently, great food. I am thankful for the dedication and quality of food. I recommend this Indian restaurant.
Im not impressed. The food was just alright and the portion sizes are really small for the price. Also the prawns were shrimp that were cut in half. Im upset that I chose this place. I will not be returning.
Excellent place with yummy food been enjoying last 25years. Service is prompt with smile. Thank you for serving us 😊enjoyed Makee ki Rootie and Saag last night
Self serve place with paper plates and plastic cups. Food was good but zero service.
Food was awesome. Tandoori chicken was good 👍🏽👍🏽 I would come again
These people are so cheap about chutney.
Excellent always good taste and very reasonable portions and prices. In general it can be compited.I really recommend it. Try the 3 Items menu.So good!
Serviceable lunch buffet. Mostly vegetarian. Provided naan and spiced chai with the buffet.
Very tasty food. Good service. Great catering.
Always delicious
Went for the lunch buffet, 11:30-2:30, while my car was worked on at wheel works in the same mall. Small buffet. Maybe 3 dishes, tandoori chicken, rice, garlic or plain naan, tea, gulab jamun, samosas, and salad. Everything was well spiced and tasty. Well worth the stop.
One of the most wrost tandoori chicken i have ever had i use to eat tandoori chicken from here they made thandoori chicken fine but from last 3-4 times its like dead chicken,i never suggest to anyone
The food is delicious the people are friendly I knew the people for years
We love Indian food their buffet is delicious.
Excellent Indian food. Have buffet for lunch too. Owner very nice and helpful
The Chicken Biryani i ordered was extremely hot and spicy. I couldnt really eat. The Alu Gobi was better though.
The name says it all, simply amazing. A hole in the wall of a shopping center in East San Jose, the Samosas and chicken Briyani alone worth the drive or paying extra for doordash. Although honestly you cant go wrong whatever you choose.
Best place to taste homely Indian food
Good food, good price. Service is quick, owned by Punjabi family. This has been the go-to place for me recently. You would pay typically between $7-$10 for dinner.
Super rude and mixed up the order
Delicious food, great taste of sweets and good customer service!
I ordered tandoori chicken. They served me oven grilled chicken without salt like boiled chicken. I told them about it and they said that they made a mistake and they give me another chicken tandoori with lots of chilly in their. I threw chicken on the counter. The lady was so rude and illiterate also. She put more chilly in chicken to show their revenge. I will not go there again. They deserve minus five stars.
This is a great place to eat. Good food, good service...
The best INDIAN FOOD on the whole WORLD on my personal OPINION Thank you for the GOOD SERVICE ( Gilberto)
Food is decent but staff is not friendly. Staff made us feel that he was obliging while serving the naan for 2nd time.
Always fun time going here.. food is too good especially Dal makhni and paneer bhurji.. chat items were better than expected.. will go again here soon
I have ordered it by uber eat . The mango chicken is the best. Naan bread was fresh and soft. Will definitely order it again
Cozy little place for Indian snacks and nibblers.
Food is excellent everytime weve ordered. Served hot with great flavors. The assorted naan is the best. We love this place!
Big disappointment, I love there milk cake but this time I can even taste bit, they burn it so much, I am living in Fremont, always drive to them for special occasions, like 12 Nov last time I guess new management, I say good luck to them
Excellent mithai. Their chicken tikka kabab and their Navratan korma are fantastic!
Good deserts customer service needs a bit of help
Food was in point, service was amazing and the atmosphere was relaxed. They also served the Amritsari fish that I quite enjoyed 😋
Small place, not much in ambience however food is delicious.Solid goat curry, saag chicken and tandoori grill items. They have traditional indian sweets and also serve beer and wine.
I get their takeout often. The Samosas are yummy. The buffet is great but not the best. Service is generally fast and friendly.
We had masala chai which was good, then puri and sabzi, that alu curry with puri was amazing, puris were little thick but curry was super. Then we had chicken wrap, that was ok and one think i did not like is that what ever knife they had used to cut the wraps into half had left some blue stains on them which I found unhygienic.
The customer service is constantly efficient, good mood, very kind staff members. Will come back again when I arrive in the area.
