New India Bazar is preferred over the Coconut Hill and the other Indian store that are closer, because of more items. For example, Indian Ice Cream (esp. Tutti Fruity), ready to eat samosas made daily (But not the green sauce, they dont have the green sauce. What they have for samosa sauce is the 12oz bottle of the brown sauce, sold separately), the small white potatoes are way better than Coconut Hill, vastly more spices, and many, many more products not available at Coconut Hill.Once I even found a biography of Paramahansa Yogananda, who taught Roy Eugene Davis, who created what is now The Center For Spiritual Enlightenment over at The Alameda and University Ave. Small world. But New India Bazaar does not have, for example, the big size bottles of Maggi brand Indian Style Ketchup, Tetley Black Tea in the teabags, or any type of bread, regular bread. For these items go to Coconut Hill. Though theres a limit of only one big bottle of the Maggi Ketchup per customer.
They offer all the products you want at a reasonable price. I give them two stars for poor customer service. Theyve really got to train their personnel on how to behave with customers. The female cashier always wears a sullen look and has been rude to me on several occasions. The other day she didnt give me my receipt, something that she is duty bound to provide a customer upon request. She insists she did and asks me to check my bag instead when I point to her that she hasnt give me one. The lies and the shameless audacity! And then she services people not in the line before me and asks me to check again like Im stupid. Girl, change your attitude and learn some professionalism!
I definitely disagree with the THOUGHTS provided by Priyanka D... This store for sure is the best Indian Grocery in bay area. I never rate anybody but after checking this review I thought giving my thoughts on this...... I have always received great customer service from Everyone who ever works at the cashier. Some people have different way of thinking if you dont approach cashier appropriately sure you expect same from them.....
Recommend this Indian grocery store for its selection and prices.
This is prolly one of my favorite Indian grocery store in San Jose. I had tried few other Indian stores in and around this area but new India Bazar is best one in terms of quality and variety. Very customer friendly shop. They sell quality products, You can very much find the mfg date and expiry dates mentioned. They charge nominal price. Veggies and fruits are fresh if you go on weekdays or Saturday, Sunday you might see the good ones sold already. You get all South Indian provisions here.
Has great selection of Indian goods. Like a smaller version of the one in Santa Clara. Has Samosas, Vada, Pastry Puffs and Veg Cutlets near entrance.
Was very crowded when I went but the cashier still came out to help me when I could not find what I wanted.
I love shopping here! Great stock and very competitive price among all Indian groceries around the area!

Milpitas one is better. Produce not as fresh.
Its ok...Milpitas store seems to have better quality and fresher produce
Bad experience with girl as a cashierToo much attitude
Smaller than NIB Santa Clara. But they have essentials. If you’re like me and eat MTR ready to eat for days then this is not the NIB you wanna visit.
Very good quality grocery
Clean, well stocked store. Fresh vegetables and produce.
Better check the date on your food
Good staffs and good customer service. Help full.
Always fully stocked and has everything you need
Tons of Indian foods n spiced. Some nice gift items. Super friendly staff. I buy rose soap n rose skin spray there. Great pricing.
I love this place. The management changed about 2 years ago. Since then I see a dramatic improvement in the quality and the inventory of vegetables, groceries. Lots of parking, isles are bigger to walk with a shopping cart without walking into anything. Their prices are also very reasonable. Their samosas are $.50+tax and they taste good.
Great shop to get Indian groceries
I normally order groceries online. Due to the current pandemic, I found myself having to go to the store a few times to run my own errands. This store, I must say, has a good protocol in place for physical distancing procedures. They also took the temperature. Most of the staff is friendly and helpful. There is one Sardar Ji at the cash counter. I think his name is Vir Singh. He always makes sure to ask if I found everything okay. I didnt find some vegetables yesterday. I thought they were out of stock. He asked me if I found everything. He then asked me to wait so he can check to see if they had it in the stock in the refrigerator in the back. Fortunately they had it and it saved me a trip to another store. I like how they make sure the customers are taken care of. Will definitely go back when I need Indian groceries.
Great varieties of fresh, frozen Indian groceries and they have many organic dals, rice and flours.
All Indian products available. Comparatively cheaper.
Not bad
All most all the Indian grocery available
Store is well organized but limited vegetable selection. Vegetable quality was average.
I had a bad experience with girl working as cashier. She has high attitude and I ask for bag, she charged for bag. When I told her no one charging for bag now . She has really bad attitude. Even she didn’t give my change and receipt. It doesn’t matter 10 cent, but she is cheating customers. It’s my first and last experience, no more .
I like to go new India Bazar because you get all Indian groceries... And vegetables the prices are good compare to other Indian shops
Great spices and great prices. Rhyming...snacks and candy from across the world. My mom is from South Africa and gets all the spices she is used to cooking from back home here. She taught me some good recipes which I now go shop there too.
Good grocery mart for Indian spices
When compared to other new indian bazaars this is the worst in terms of service, a strong not go
ProIt’s one stop shop. We used to get all our grocery from one stop. Price is comparative to other stores. Produce and dairy is fresh. They also sell fresh somosa and few other savories. I shopped here for over an year, almost every week.ConThe staff are friendly, but also take things for granted. They run this rewards program that gives you 20$ credit after you hit a certain threshold. But when things go Hayward, say the system crashes - they would start over from beginning. To enroll for the program - you will need to write down some personal details on a sheet of paper. There is no clarity how the data will be handled later, or who uses it for what.I once had a credit that they failed to honor since the system was reset due to the power outage. They knew me as regular customer, yet they failed to honor the credit. For me it was not about the 20$, but more about how they take things for granted. These kind of things are unacceptable in bigger stores, but it’s ok to happen in Indian store ?? I stopped going there ever since.I’ve given a poor rating due to my experience and disappointment. If these kind of things are petty and does not matter, then the place is one stop grocery shop for you !
Good strategy during COVID and good quality groceries.
Great neighborhood indian grocery store and default destination for my weekend grocery shopping. I used to struggle finding the exact type of staples I need under one place till I found this place. Just on the corner of Quimby and WhiteNow I get all South Indian and North Indian staples at reasonable prices under one roof and fresh.Even the placement and arrangment is logical to make my shopping faster.I every found the vegetables selection to be good while the bread selection can improve.Recently they have started the loyalty program Big just got Bigger.
Its good store for brought asian products..
Place is clean. Veggies are fresh
Nice grocery store catering all cooking and kitchen needs. Popular with Indian community. All are welcome.
A bag of oranges I got had, fungus on it which I realized only when I got home. When tried to exchange it the same day with the receipt, they refused! We eventually had to argue to get the rotten fruit bag replaced! Its not about a bag of fruits or money, its about business not owning up to their mistake.
Love this place. One of the few places where i can find my chai.. I live in Hollister but it is well worth the drive.
Very convenient, they also have a large selection of fresh produce
I like the one in Santa Clara better but this one is alright too
Very congested and hard to move through the aisles. There isnt enough room for 2 carts to pass each other. The variety of products is decent.
Every possible indian item available so fantastic as you dont feel to miss Indian food anymore
Good Indian store and one gets everything required..... groceries v good and prices also reasonable....and the staff ever ready to assist you👍👍👍
They follow social distancing very well. 5 feet distance, face mask and glass shield at the checkout counter.
It is the only decent indian grocery store in the Milpitas area where you can find most of the necessary items. Beware of their samosas because most of time they have old and spoiled potatoes filling inside. Also make sure to check expiration on items you buy. Many times the items are close to expiration or have passed the expiration. Otherwise I find the people to be very friendly.
Good stock... but too narrow spaces.. you cant take ur cart into fresh vegetables section. Car parking is always full.
The location of the store and the items therein are very good.
Really bad experience with that new s Indian bazar. Especially # that girl work in front as a cashier with way to much attitude . And all the veggies and fruits, warmer food are spoiled. So just go somewhere else .
Clean store. Well stocked. Fresh vegetables. Good variety.
Good amount of fresh vegetables, variety of Indian spices and groceries at reasonable pricesConvenientGood locationGood parking

This location is not well organized.shelves are not stocked promptly. They do not have all merchandise compare to Milpitas and santa Clara locations.

You will find most of the stuff here. But it is pricey then similar stores.
Great place for Indian glossaries
Nice place for indian stuff
Weekends crowded, but you get most of stuff.
Very reasonably priced place.
Needs better customer service
Fresh produce, grocery at good prices
They have everything that your run of the mill South Asian grocery store but they dont have a lot of halal selection. They have frozen halal chicken strips and frozen chicken samosa packets, but not halal marshmallows or halal chicken bouillon cubes.
Good supermarket nice people nice service 👌👌👌
Carries lots of spices but they are all over the places and therefore difficult to locate them.
Very expensive compare to stores Santa Clara or Sunnyvale.
