Ive been taking my 1998 Volvo to Ohana since I moved to CA in early 2011. In short, Id never take my car anywhere else. Even though I live 45 minutes away, it is absolutely worth the drive.These guys consistently provide honest advice on what really needs to get done versus what might only been a nice-to-have. Once a fair agreement is made on the way forward, the job gets done well at a reasonable price. Questions about my car and the maintenance are answered openly and honestly by the mechanics and management.The relationship Ive built with Ohana keeps me coming back. They know my car and its maintenance record and they know me. I have no doubt any new visitor will develop the same sense of customer loyalty soon!

I have moved out of Carlsbad, CA, but I still miss Ohana Automotive Service every time I bring my Volvo S80 to repair in other shops. I missed the excellent quality and cost effective service, and the very nice personality of the owner Clyde. I think Clyde is the kind of person who puts the benefit of car owners in the first place!

Really honest owner. I recommend this place, they helped solved a problem I had with my commercial can without a diagnosis test or purchased service. These guys deserve another star for saving me money.

I took my Volvo to Ohana for several years (I moved away recently, and I regret not finding a mechanic as good as he is). He is always honest, straight-forward, and trustworthy. When my AC quit, he found a used one to save me money (without me asking him to). Then when the used AC broke a few months later, he allowed me to pay the difference for a new AC compressor and replaced it without charging me for labor. On a different occasion, I was concerned about a strange sound the engine was making and he diagnosed it quickly by the sound. On yet another time, I took my car in after having the brakes replaced at Sears - he noticed that the pads were installed backwards, and re-installed the pads without charging me for it.Overall, its hard to take your car to a mechanic without feeling like youre being ripped off. I think he realizes the stigma, and he goes above and beyond to make sure his customers feel like theyve gotten an honest deal. Highly recommended.

I have been a customer of Ohana Volvo for three years. When they moved from Carlsbad (close to me) to San Marcos (far from me) I did not hesitate to continue as a customer. Clyde is a terrific master mechanic, for certain. But what really sets Clyde apart from others is his integrity and customer service. He has stayed open late to allow me to bring my car in without missing hours at my wage slavery. He always explains the work he does on my car and answers any questions I have. He stands by his work. Yeah, like everyone, Ive got a heap of problems in this adventure called Life. But since I discovered Ohana Volvo finding an honest, competent, fairly priced, reliable, and friendly car guy is definitlely not on my list of problemos.
