I had the best experience there! I wanted something different as far as color and I am so happy with the shade and color my stylist chose! Every detail about my visit here was perfect. I highly recommend this salon.

This is my favorite salon of all times! Neil and Kelvon are amazing, talented, caring artists who always give my hair the cut and products that makes it work! Others don’t. I hate it when I get caught out of town and can’t make it to AKYA!

After having the same hair dresser in Fort Worth for more than 30 years, I was very hesitant to try someone new in San Marcos. However, Neil has trimmed my hair twice now and did a wonderful job. He was very patient and I feel like he truly listened to my requests and concerns. He also offered good advice. Neil and Kelvon both appear to be kind people overall. I will definitely return to their studio.

I came in for or a drastic color change, and Neil made sure we did it properly, so I actually waited a couple months to make sure everything went well.I am SO happy with the result, with the care Neil and Kelvon take with their guests and how they often work together if required in the moment. I feel comfortable just trusting them to make me look my best.

Neil cut my daughter’s hair. It was a significant cut with 6 inches taken off, layers put in and bangs. Her new cut looks great!

Just not impressed. Owners were very particular about where and how to sit, not to let your head touch the wall or on certain couches due to color on hair. Did not feel relaxing. I had highlights some time ago. He used the old fashioned plastic cap, super tight and hot during Texas summer heat. It was a claustrophobic experience. Too many lowlights defeated the purpose of blending in the gray.

Love this place! I relocated to the San Marcos area and after finding a doctor I found a hairstylist - Neil! Hes wonderful. He listened to me and was very professional, and hes also just a lovely person to know. Im very happy I found Akya!

Kelvon and Neil are the best hair specialists I’ve ever had in my many decades. Looking forward to my COVID cut. I get compliments on my hair all the time no matter how long it’s been between cuts. (my hair grows very slowly). Meesh (sp?) is absolutely precious and ads charm to every appointment. Clean, neat, professional, attentive. I look cherish every trip for my hair care. Love you guys! You are the BEST!

Neil did a fabulous job trimming on my wigs I bought for chemo. I didnt even know he did wigs. He can even order wigs for you. We made it into a party and had a really fun time.

I love Neil and Kelvon...they are attentive and really listen to what you want for your hair. They also offer hair and make of advise!! They are very knowledgeable about the Aveda product line and can recommend the best products for your needs. I wish I could still see them monthly ...but San Marcos, Texas is a bit far from England.

Another great cut from Neil at AKYA. Neil and Kelvon are a delight, and their work is terrific! I used to drive to Austin to get a good cut, but now that I have found AKYA, I dont have to travel to get a great cut and beautiful color with lowlights. They stock AVEDA quality hair products, which is important to me. Thanks Neil and Kelvon!PS, I love the tea I bought there. I am not a big tea drinker, but wishing I could drink less coffee and soda. This herbal tea is delicious and will help me to accomplish that goal.

No one can get around my cowlicks like Neil does. For years, strangers have told me I have the perfect cut and asked where I get my hair done. It doesnt get any better than that.
