Manny! Thank you so much for accommodating me so quickly. I know you all are busy and you still made sure I was at ease with confidence my car would be taking care of the very next day! The service, awareness, and being specific with what was going on was impeccable. Appreciate you and that is why I return to your establishment.
Great Firestone location. They always take care of me fast, in & out. Jonathon did an awesome customer service job by being thorough with everything. They had my brakes done within just a couple hours. Brakes are smooth and are fire. the car brakes perfectly. Thanks Firestone
I ordered some tires to be installed on my vehicle and had a appointment for 3:00. I came in early with just the rims to have the tires installed since my vehicle was in the shop and they told me they were unable to help me and I needed to schedule an appointment for Monday even though I had one for that to have my tires replaced that day. The representative was not at all helpful and did not make an effort to help me. They were also extremely short staffed and only had one advisor working and one technician. During my visit the phone kept ringing and left unanswered and with a lobby of 3 people needing assistance. They need to do a better job on staffing or else they will start to loose customers. I ended up purchasing the tires from here because my tires were down to the cord but I had to have another business install them.
Worst Firestone shop ever! Dropped off my car before 10am for an appointment. At 3:20pm i called just to be told that it will take another hour for them to work on my car. They never gave me an update on my car. I don’t know why this shop is still open. Never going back again.
These folks were extremely helpful and friendly. I had an out of town emergency and they got me in and fixed fast, and at a good price! I highly recommend them to everyone!
Our first visit back since they bought out the previous establishment. It was a bit of a tortuous experience but in the end it all worked out all right.Prices are fair, and I think they try very hard to put the customer first. Everyone was extremely polite and seemed to know their craft well enough. It just took longer due to an error on their part. We’ll be back!
I went in 3 wks ago Thursday to have my car inspected before a trip to Las Vegas on that weekend Saturday. I go in, I had the appointment for 1:00 and didnt leave until 4 hours later at 5. They said that my car is leaking oil, even though I never noticed any leaking. They said that my filters were dirty and that my rear rotors and brakes needed changing. So with my past and lack of trust, I told them that Im going to sleep on it and call them back for a quote. I get my car back and as Im entering my apartment complex, the e-brake light came on along with the abs light and esc which an acronym for electronic stability control. I think to myself on how weird it was that it all of a sudden did that. Prior to me taking it to Firestone, it was never an issue. I just thought that it was weird that I left the shop and that those lights came on. Me being me, with my luck with cars in the past and dealing with shady people when it comes to my money, I freaked out. So my girlfriend calls the customer service number for Firestone and tells them what happened. They even agreed that it was weird. So what happens? The manager named Manny calls me and says blah blah blah come in for an inspection on us free of charge. Basically to sum it up he said that hes been doing this for 13 yrs and that they only do this and that. Basically not accepting responsibility and zero accountability. I go the next day to a legit independent shop, not gonna mention name for privacy reasons. Anyways, they do an inspection and told me to my surprise but at the same time not that my oil leakage was minimal. On top of that they said that it was weird that they put so much emphasis on my rear brakes and pads when it was the front that had more use. They told me which is sensible even though I barely know anything about cars that cars front rotors and brakes use 80% and the rears use 20%. So my front rotors and brakes was like 15 and my rear 20. They said it was weird that they would say my rears needed changing when in fact the front needed it more. So Im stressing cuz I had crunch time to get it done on time to leave to the trip. The mechanic told me that my front should be replaced so the trip would be as safe as possible. He said that the rears could wait atleast until I got back. The primary reason why this was a factor was because of timeliness to leave to Vegas on time. Luckily for me it got done quick and the dirty filters got changed. The oil leakage they told me is bizarre because they said that it was minimal and they dont know why Firestone made it seem like it was super urgent and that it was a top priority. So off the bat I knew that Firestone was trying to upsell me and take the most money they could from me. A week later passed, spoke to Manny manager and he didnt give me any hopes of them fixing the problem that they started in my car. Because of my trust and their lack of accountability, I didnt go get my car inspected. My girlfriend called a week ago 2 weeks since the incident, spoke to a customer representative and the assistant manager. And to my surprise yet not surprise he had no accountability. The independent mechanic fixed my rear rotors and brakes, and spent all day trying to figure out why the lights have been on. They originally thought it was a sensor issue. Then they realized that it was most likely a module/ computer problem. So now its been three weeks Thursday that the lights have been on. They come on and off. During the whole trip in Vegas, they were like that. Everytime they came on it was a reminder that I messed up going to Firestone. 3 wks later theyre still flashing and every time they piss me off because I realized that I only went for a regular check up to make sure my car was safe for traveling. Firestone intentionally or unintentionally messed up the computer in my car and now they wiped their hands clean. If I could give less than a star I would. I dont trust stealerships, chains like Firestone for a good reason. Go to a trustworthy independent mechanic instead! Before they try and steal your $
THE SOCALLED MANAGER BILL IS VERY RUDE. WOULD NOT TRUST THIS PLACE EVER WITH MY VEHICLE. First, I am writing this review because after having issues for the third time, I decided I needed to speak up. The first 2 times both my vehicles leaked oil and they refused to do anything to correct the problem. This third time I had the unfortunate displeasure of dealing with Bill who claimed he was the manager but I did find out he is not. Anyways I scheduled an appointment for 4 pm, but I have to pick up some items for my moms memorial service because she died after a horrible battle with bone cancer. I desperately needed to change the appointment to earlier so I tried to call at 8 am when they opened, nobody answered and I called several times until 8 45. I thought oh, are they not even open today. I went online and they should have been open at 8 am, ok so be it, so I made an appointment online for earlier and also received a confirmation email about it. I also called the escondido site to verify if Firestone was in fact open on sundays and they said yes, and offered to call san marcos. I waited briefly and was informed to call the site again they were awaiting my call, so I called back to verify my appointment was at an earlier time. Well no that didnt happen. Bill said they do NOT honor appointments made online. Well of course I ask then why do u have an online appointment system, and also said if anybody had answered the phone just once the full hour I had been trying to call then maybe we wouldnt have any issues. Well all I can say is this manager Bill was very rude, very unprofessional, would not honor my appointments and hung up on me. I honestly knew I could not take my vehicle there because I absolutely cannot trust somebody so unprofessional when it comes to working on my car and the safety of my car. Go to any other firestone but this one. I now have an earlier appointment at the escondido site where the staff was amazing and very helpful and friendly.
Ive been coming here since 2016. Jonathan and Enrique are always kind and friendly. They make every visit as seamless as possible. They take time to answer my questions (and sometimes I have a-lot sorry guys lol). They take time to explain what the technicians recommends and why. I trust trust that they are always giving me the best recommendations for my car. Which we all know is key to trust your mechanic/service representative.I highly recommend their service.
The manager was great help I needed a warranty exchange mission auto repair apparently did not want to do the exchange so they told me it would be a three-hour process just to test the battery I went to the Firestone and it took approximately 2 to 5 minutes tops I recommend these guys for all your auto needs and definitely tires the quake easy to deal with
Stated they rotated tires on my vehicle. Me being suspicious of auto shops took pictures of my tires before I left. Came back and when the service manager specifically told me my tires were rotated yet all were in the exact same position as when I left. Didnt even want them touching the car. Took it to the dealership and they rotated for free. Stay away STAY AWAY
Wonderful staff and customer service!
Came here today for a tire rotation and oil change and they were very quick and friendly. They noticed that my battery in my key was dead and they just replaced it for free for me. How kind! I’ll be coming back for all my car needs.
Their team is super friendly and patient, always so nice and polite to explain the problem and give you a solution. Best on what they do
I drive 50+ miles to go to this exact Firestone location. Johnathan is the best, love how professional, friendly and amazing the employees/management is. I know I can trust them with my car. :)
Great service, open on Sunday, there when you need help
Amazing service they provide. Nice staff too.
I made an appointment several days prior to my service. When I arrived, the building was closed even though they should have been open at least an hour prior. After waiting 15 minutes, I looked online to find their business hours were changed within the last 8 hours, even though you could still make appointments online for that day. What type of business changes their hours on a whim, leaving those with appointments in the lurch and still making it possible to set up future appointments for a day they arent even open? I am so disappointed in this company for the way they treat their customers. And, this isnt even my first bad experience with them.
Great Servive
Excellent service
My experience at the San Marcos Firestone was a good one. I called at 7 am and was able to book an oil change appointment for 8:15 same day on a Friday. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout the entire process. After spending some time waiting for an oil filter and engine filter my parts arrived. It was somewhat of a wait time for an oil change but i did not mind at all because the Firestone staff spent the time rotating my tires, checking fluids and even provided a quick all around check up. I also mentioned to Johnathon, that my side mirror fell off the day before and i had it with me. He went above and beyond and preceded to personally glue it back on and fix it. 5 stars on a first time visit!
This location is excellent, they are very polite and professional and even with few staff they are proficient and very courteous there is a firestone five minutes from my house but the 20 minute drive to this location is worth it, Great Job, Thank You
While not all Firestone are the same, and it shows. The service provided here is excellent and the staff are always ready and willing to help resolve any problem I have come to them with, which I greatly respect. If you go to Firestone, you know how variable their quality can be, but this store is one to keep in mind.
These guys hooked it up today(4/11). They got an oil change, tire rotation and change, and curtesy inspection done, along with a few unexpected tire changes, all within an hour and a half. They went above and beyond to explain everything to me, and make sure I was as safe as possible, while still within my budget.Seriously great service!!!!
Firestone took over for the old Express tire location. The gentlemen there (I was helped by Enrique but both gentlemen were awesome) were courteous, friendly and patient with the customers who were ahead and with myself. The service was prompt and executed without any issues.I also asked for a quote on tire replacement for another vehicle and they priced matched a competitor and they were great about it.Will be back!
I brought my car in for new tire install. Jon and Enrique at the counter were great. No hard sell, very respectful, patient, knowledgeable and very professional. They did not try to take advantage of me. The technicians were thorough, safe and did a great job. Its hard to say good things about getting your car serviced but these guys took care of me, didnt try to rip me off or insult my intelligence and I left feeling like I got a great value.I will return for future services.
Love this place. Super friendly and helpful.
Newer location, still great service. Enrique and Manny helped me out today. Simple oil change, and he informed me of a special price without me even asking. Thats great business practices right there. I will be back for my next car service
Saved My Day on Thanksgiving Sunday being opened for brakes & drums at a Fantastic $$$$ price! They were ALL GREAT!
Made an appointment for oil and filter change. Was in and out in 40 minutes. They sanitized my key and key fob before giving it back to me.
It was excellent!!! impossible better, very friendly and professionals! Thank you Jonathan!
Such a great experience! Im not a huge fan of spending money on my car but if I have to do it, Im glad its here. Tom is wonderful and his customer service skills are pretty much unbeatable... Im still waiting for my car to be done so as for the actual work Im not sure yet. If it is anything like their customer service though Im sure I wont be disappointed!
The customer service was absolutely amazing! Johnathon the gentleman that helped us was super helpful. He was the reason we came in from the first phone call 15 mins before they even opened to settings g the appointmentthrough
I had a great experience at this Express Tire. I had a tire with a nail in it that needed to be replaced, and they were helpful in not only helping me choose the best tire for my needs, they were quick and efficient in replacing it. One of the workers sacrificed part of his lunch time to assist me and get my order set up. I would absolutely come back here for any future tire needs.
Car repair is a leap of faith. You just have to hope that the people you are dealing with have your best interest at heart, listen to you when you are up-front about what you can do financially, and honestly help you prioritize what you need to do now and what can wait. Myself and everyone I know is so grateful when that happens, we never go anywhere else and tell our friends. I trust Tom. Thank you.
I highly recommend avoiding this place at all costs. My son had a flat tire and conned him into purchasing 4 new tires which were absolutely not needed and a rear brake job and rotors which was NOT urgent at all. They convinced him the brakes were unsafe to drive. As a working student, he was charged $765 when he simply needed a flat tire repair. I highly recommend avoiding this store and their ethics.
I hesitate to even give one star. I have been scammed twice by this place. The first time we simply wanted a way to raise the back of our Honda to keep our bike rack from bottoming out. Tom the manager sold us on an expensive struts replacement in the rear. We paid a lot for this, drove out of the lot and the rack bottomed out just as before. We returned upon which we settled on simply putting slightly larger back tires on the car which fixed the problem, but unfortunately although this could have been the first suggestion (duh) we ended up with struts we didnt need. The bigger issue was another Jeep we took in for a starter problem. A previous estimate of the fix was reattaching a wire for around $85. After that repair, the Jeep was driven out with a grinding noise never heard before. This lead to a rebuilt drive shaft, and again, upon exiting the facility the grinding noise was still there. We returned and after several days Tom insisted that it required a compete $3500 transmission job claiming that first gear was gone and he even took it to Rapid Transmission to certify that was the problem. We refused to do any further work unconvinced, took it to another reputable dealer with a transmission expert who certified it absolutely had nothing to do with the transmission and everything to do with spacing around the drive shaft. Had I gone along with the transmission work Id be out another $3500 and still have that grinding noise.AVOID THIS FACILITY AT YOUR OWN PERIL. They look to sell you the highest cost fix that you dont need, playing on your inability to really know whats wrong with your vehicle.
The whole staff is courteous and very knowledgeable! Their work is the best!
Ive been going to Firestone for years. This location is Awesome and the staff is so knowledgeable. I highly recommend this location.
Fast service, superior customer service
Quick and friendly service. A place that still exercises customer service! Id go there again and again!
Never had an issue here. Always seem helpful such as emails when we need rotation and pressure check. Theyll work with your budget and pick a tire and a style u want. Lots of times have deals and if they dont have the tires you want, theyll have the type delivered
Always accommodating and helpful. Never any pressure. Great place to have a relationship for any car need.
Ive been going to Express Tire in San Marcos for several years, because it is near my work. Originally they charged $12 for an oil change, now its up to $36! I mentioned perhaps I needed to locate another place to get my oil changed, since the prices keep increasing every time I walk in. The front counter guy said...go ahead. What kind of customer service is that?!? Time to move on. Big O Tires is just a couple of blocks away.
Make no mistake about it: this place is a glamorized chop shop. About three years ago my fuel pump clogged and my car quit starting. After I got it to start I drove it here not knowing what the problem was and said, I think it MIGHT be the starter, but I cant make a diagnosis since Im no mechanic. After $600 of parts and labor, they replaced the starter and it ran fine until the next day when it died in the middle of the road (had it happened an hour earlier I wouldve been in the middle of a freeway). I had to have it towed to an expensive dealership mechanic that replaced the correct part. The next day I called Express Tire demanding a refund to no avail; he just claimed he interpreted my remark to mean, Replace the starter and dont look for the actual problem. I asked for my old working starter back, but they had already sold it! A little over a year later the starter they had put into my car died and had to be replaced. Needless to say they did not offer me a refund. Go anywhere else.
Excellent place to come get quality, friendly, affordable and fast service.
Quick and efficient service. Very pleased with my experience.
Excellent n timely service. Thanks Enrique!
Bring Alex back he was the reason my customer loyalty was for well over 10years
Very helpful people. Ill go back again.
Front desk guy was quick to fix a simple tire gauge problem on my 2019 Civic. Much respeK dude✊
Great bunch of guys up their hard-working intelligent they get the job done
Me and my two college roommates got a flat tire directly in front of firestone, we pulled into the building directly next to firestone 50 ft from the actual firestone building. They would not even help us we told them we would pay for the flat and all new tires. They said we would need to call triple a just to pump up the tire and drive it 20 feet into the service section. These are not good people they would not even help us when we were willing to pay for new tires and the service. He rudely asked do you know how to change a tire? I replied yes but I do not have the tools, he said tuff luck, call triple a. I would not recommend this place to anyone!! They do not care about our community! Do not spend your money with them!
I needed tires they had em no appt.got em on & left 1 1/2 hr.good service quick fast&Good job Will go again
Went in for a free inspection and of course they wanted to me to do every service under the sun. Also their wait times are completely fabricated.
Service, from the helpful customer service to the timely service of its people.
Quick and easy. Better prices than most places
I would highly recommend staying away from this place if youre doing a uber check. They fail you purposely to try to get you to buy stuff from their company. Make the drive to the actual uber check places in Escondido or San Diego.
Went for the free Lyft inspection and they took my car apart! Ive had many inspections as a rideshare driver and never had anybody do this. Tried to extort me out of $350 to pass the inspection. Little did they know the car had already been thoroughly inspected the same week. Nope. Scammy. Avoid.
Great service and very friendly team
I went to change my oil in Nov 2015, and they also checked all my car for other stuff. They also measured my breaks pads and they gave me a GREEN status for it. So the overall experience for this month as good.Anyway, in December 2015 I was planning to drive for Uber again, so Uber requires once a year to all drivers to checkup their cars at any Express Tire for free. I decided to go back to this place in San Marcos Dec 2015 to do this checkup for free. Anyway, this location gave me a RED status for my brake pads and also they gave a FAIL checkup for UBER, so I couldnt work for Uber because of my brake pads.I have photos of my brake pads to prove they were lying about my brake pads status. So I decided to go to another Express Tire in Oceanside and they did the Ubers checkup again and they gave a GREEN status for my brake pads.I decided to NEVER go back to the Express Tire in San Marcos again.
UPDATE 05/18/2015:I am writing an update because now I am more logical and not emotional. I am hoping some people reading this review can learn from it.There were two mishaps that resulted in nearly 4 thousand dollars of repairs from me.The first mishap was the guy selling me front brakes when I didnt need any. Priuses only use their front brakes from 5 mph to 0 mph. They are typically replaced at a 140K miles plus. Mine were sold to me to pass my uber inspection at 80k miles. This was unethical behavior on their part to make the sales quota and it would have been fine except for the second mishap: they didnt bleed the brake system correctly. (they need a scanner for the computer connected to the actuator in the braking system) There was too much air in the brake system and it broke my actuator. You need a scanner to bleed the brakes correctly on a Prius. They didnt have one. If you are going to make the sale, do it right. This sequence of two mishaps cost me thousands. So because of these two events I had to buy a new actuator which is a 3.4 thousand dollar repair. This is after spending 280 on the aftermarket brakes, 250 at toyota to bleed them correctly, and 100 on a mechanic I trust to clean all the braking parts. All to work for uber.I normally go to my mechanic but they said replace your front brakes and we will pass you right now. I take full responsibility for getting ripped off. Most of the guys there are good guys just trying to survive. They just dont have the technology or the knowledge to truly fix your car. The mechanics arent paid much and are most likely driven by sales commission just to be able to make a decent pay check. The manager probably has conference calls about sales numbers and motivating employees from his district manager on a weekly basis. The end result of focus on the numbers? A forced sale on a service that couldnt be done correctly on a customers car costing the customer 4 thousand dollars. As an update when I brought it in with my broken actuator there was a friendly guy there who told them to repair my tire for free. They repaired the tire and also cleaned all my brake parts. But by this time, it was too late. The actuator was broken. The guy who sold me the brakes initially and the sales manager were avoiding eye contact and sullen.Hopefully someone getting their car inspected for UBER can learn from this situation. Going there with a Prius cost me 4K. Bottom line. Have a normal not-so-high-tech car? Maybe their services will do you just fine. They will still try to sell you stuff you dont need.OLD POST:I came here for my uber inspection. After trusting them with a brake job to pass the inspection I started hearing squeaking noises from my brakes. I took it to a mechanic I trust and he said he has never replaced prius front brakes before 140 thousand miles. Mine was at 70 thousand miles. Angry...I took it back to express tires. They lubed the brakes and sanded down the brakes but the sound with my brake pedals remained. So I ended up taking it to the dealership and they told me the brakes werent bled correctly. 400 dollars later after doing a diagnostic at a mechanic I trust and at toyota (who has also told me that the front brakes on a toyota prius never have to be changed until 140k miles) the sound is fixed. I paid a total of 640 dollars because they value their sales quota over their quality of service. DONT USE THESE GUYS FOR YOUR UBER INSPECTION YOUR CUSTOMERS WILL BE UNHAPPY ABOUT THE SQUEAKS COMING FROM THE CAR.
My wife took her car in for Uber inspection and 4 new tires that she knwe she needed, Her car passed, the tires are great. No hard sell, rope-a-dope BS. just a list of items about to need replacment & estimated cost.
Professional, and helpful staff.
Not only does it take 6 hours to change my oil..but when you guys called me to come pick up my car I wait an hour and fifteen minutes to get it! This will be my first and last visit to Express Tire
I went in to find if I had a tire leak and the mechanic/salesman tried to roll me for almost 1,500 in repairs he just happened to find, but of course could not find why my tire pressure was low. I sat there for an hour and a half while they combined my vehicle to find problems. Never asked me if I wanted this done, tried to sell me all kinds of payment plans.
Great prices and great crew
I like the place the only problem is waiting too much.... for flat tire repair almost 2 hour...
Very accommodating.
They try to talk you into things that you dont need.
PROFESSIONAL AND HONEST
Alex was great!
Great prices
Fast service
