Man this has been the best experience that my brothers and I have had...ordered our boat back in May boat was ready when they said it would be and Chris is a amazing salesman...we added alot of stuff and he made sure it all got taken care of in a timely matter....The financial guy was excellent on explaining everything and the captain that went over the boat and took us out for a spin was great....we were in and out in about a hour an a half.....we take our hat off 2 the guys in sales that made sure we had all that we need for this boat before we left....10 stars from us....Chris u did an amazing job capt!!

We purchased a new Carolina Skiff from Chatlee and could not be any happier. From the time we walked in just looking around, to the time I left the lot with our new boat, we were treated the absolute best we could. Jonathon and every team member at Chatlee always made sure to answer any questions we had as well as ask to make sure if we had any questions or needed help.We took our new boat out for the first time and loved it, but had a very small issue. I called Jonathon and made him aware, and he sent me what I needed in just a couple days to fix that small issue.Like an older review stated, I wouldn’t hesitate driving across the country to do business with Chatlee again! We purchased our first boat from Chatlee Boat & Marine this month and it was such a great experience from beginning to end. We worked with Matt Wicker, who made the whole process for us so nice and easy, with no sales pressure. We actually met with Matt in 2018 and put the purchase on hold. We shopped around as well and found Chatlee Boat & Marine had one of the best prices and inventory. We came back to Chatlee based on how they treated us, excellent customer service. Having the large pond at their site made for an easy way to do a boat orientation to understand your new boat. The purchase process with the office team was also easy and painless. Lastly, we had the boat delivered to our lake and the delivery guy, Steve D, was super friendly and helpful to get in last minute instructions for our new boat. Waited a while for this one. Bought my boat last summer and they made it an all around great experience. Had my 20 hour service done at the beginning of the season and they accidentally scuffed one of the decals. Not a big mark, but they had me bring the boat back in and they replaced the decal among some additions I wanted and I couldn’t be happier. It’s not whether you make the mistake, it’s how you correct it. They took a frustrating situation and made it as easy as possible. Chris, I believe that’s the GM’s name, was all about making sure the work was done and that I was happy. I don’t care if I’m on the other side of the country, if they have my next boat, I’m getting it from them. Absolutely blown away.

We were looking for a used pontoon boat for months without much success until we found Chris at Chatlee boats. He called us as soon as a good used boat came in that was just what we were looking for. We were able to test drive the boat in the small lake right on their property. The sale went very smoothly and he boat was cleaned up like new when we arrived to pick it up.We are very happy with transaction and the boat.

Bought a new boat. had trouble all summer with freeze plug falling out, but kept putting plug back in. before winter, I drained water. in winter, took it back to Chatlee and explained all this, asking that they replace with a plug that wont fall out during normal run in summer. they apparently ignored my info and request. they replaced the same plug and ran it at Jordan lake. they they said I should have drained water because freezing had pushed plug out (this was false, as I explained). they charged me $400 because they had to test in lake Jordan to assure freezing did not cause crack. I complained that they never considered the info I supplied. they ignored me. So I had to modify the plug myself so it would stop falling out.

Staff if wonderful here! Had a problem with a replacement water pump not matching what was on my motor. Multiple members of the parts team dug in and figured out why and quickly resolved the issue. I have done business here for years and will continue to do so! Keep up the good work guys!

Brought my bass boat in for an engine problem and a broken live well fitting. service called me and said they did a compression check and and it was good and that’s all they could do to diagnose issue.( I called another shop I’ve done business with for over 10 in Virginia they gave me a whole list in an exact order they would do to diagnose the problem) so regardless of that problem I get home noticed my power pole was zip tied I look down and see hydraulic fluid on where the line runs into the boat. The fittings were missing all the screws and a spliced hydraulic line that they tried to hide with the cap conveniently over the spliced line. battery wires not even hooked back up to the battery. the service department has a very unfriendly attitude and clearly doesn’t care about customers. I’m glad I paid money to get my boat back in worse shape then I brought it in. I was excited when I moved here to have a boat shop a couple miles from home but I will drive way out of my way to never give them my business againEdit for companies response: this was a copy of the Facebook review. I am the boat owners wife, (making me the boat owner as well.) Chatlee had told us they preferred not to work on our boat again after their mistake was caught so we had to repair the hydraulic line ourself. We paid $550 to get our boat in worse shape than when we dropped it off, buying the part and refusing to work on the boat after a bad review was bare minimum. Thank you.

My boyfriend just left 10 mins ago. Was told when he purchased the boat that at 20 hours he needed to bring the boat in for oil change and adjust the valves because it was under warranty. He was told by the guy there this morning that well the book might say that, but we dont do that. It cost him to get this done. They lie to make the sale. I would NOT purchase anything from them or have them do any kind of maintenance whatsoever.

This place is recommended to me by friends. We met one of the salesmen at the boat show and he invited me to the shop. After the initial inspection of the boat it was like I was on my own no support from Chatlee everything was done outside of the business. Either way I got a damn good boat for a damn good price.

My wife and I had been looking at boats all in our local area of Morehead City. We checked every boat dealer in eastern North Carolina. Everyone down here was about the same price as each other on the boats we were looking at. We didnt really want to go as far as Raleigh to get a boat, but I told my wife I had heard good things about Chatlee from another boater while we were at Cape Lookout one weekend. So It wouldnt hurt to just talk pricing over the phone. I called and was amazed at the price difference for the same boats. Their buying power crushes the other boat dealers prices buy at least $5000.00 depending on the boat your looking for. The boat my wife and chose was $10,000.00 lower starting price than the same boat at dealer in our area. I can drive 4 hours for that kind of savings. Thanks Chatlee for taking care of us. We have added you to our friends and family boating world. See Jonathan Nowell or any of their helpful sales people. They will treat you right.

Extremely frustrated. I live in Carolina Trace which only allows electric motors. In March of 2020, I purchased a brand new Godfrey with the 4.0 Torqueedo system based off the advice of the salesman stating that the owner of Ray’s motors would be around much longer. So I purchase the ~$15,000 system including the lithium-ion batteries. I had the boat for about 4 months before I deployed. Right before I deployed is when I experienced my first issue. The batteries would not charge. After I got back from deployment, they sent me a new battery charges which I installed. It worked to charge the batteries one single time before it quit working again. So here I am with a $28k boat that I have barely used and constantly have issues with to the point that I am afraid to even try to move it away from my dock.Update: I have since worked with Jimmy from the service department. After contacting Torqueedo together, there really isn’t much Chatlee’s could have done to prevent this issue from happening. They did get the issue corrected and it was associated with the software that shuts the battery down to prevent deep discharge. I have since update my rating from one to four stars. I will continue to do business with Chatlee’s and thank them for their help.

Very dissatisfied with my visit. To make a long story short - salesmen will be salesmen, and no matter how nice as my daughter put it, they are what they are.Long story.Went up Saturday morning. After about an hour working with a salesmen, found a used boat I was interested. My wife then made the 35 min drive down to also look at the boat. By the time we were done looking, it was 13:35, they close at 13:30. We had a few follow up questions.Sunday - the dealer is closed and we were told by the salesmen he would be in at 8am, and would call us with the details 1st thing in the morning - Cool.I did not get a call until 16:45 on Monday, in which at that current time I was busy, and told him I would call him back. I called back at 17:28, earliest I could - they close at 17:30, so of course no one picked up the phone.I then called back Tuesday morning, in which the salesmen let me know about the questions we had previously asked in which he was unable to answer prior. I told him I would call him right back to see when me and the wife could come back down to take the boat on the lake/finalize things. I called him back about 30 mins later - he was on lunch the person who picked up the phone told me - Cool.He then calls me back about an hour and a half later - with the audacity to tell me Out of courtesy he stated that someone else had bought the boat via another rep while he was on lunch.....He then told me I had had 3 days to make up my mind...Lets do the storyline.We stayed until after close on Saturday - Had follow up Questions.They were closed on Sunday...Monday the rep failed to uphold what he stated by delaying the call with the answers until EoD.Then on Tuesday its my fault?? I found it grossly disrespectful that he would turn it on me as if I was not actively pursuing every possible route/detail in a timely manner.Now again, this was a used boat so it cant be replaced/reordered.They didnt have the decency to even call me prior and give me an ultimatum to put money up or the other family would. You would think after investing time and energy, and being as tentative of a client as possible, they would have at least had the decency to give us a notice to either put money up, or pass.Now this was my experience, and I will not even remotely consider looking back at their selection due to the sub-par service received. I can only imagine how bad it would be after the purchase.This is an example of a dealer being so big, they no longer have to worry about quality of service, as if you dont buy from them, someone else will.Its a shame, oh wells.Oh! And I also sent the a mail illustrating my displeasure in what had happened - you would think they would contact you back to see what, if anything, could be done to reconcile what I felt to be a wrong.

Poor service, poor communication, worked on boat 3 months gave it back to me with the same problem I sent it there with. Brought it back and had it another 3 months and then refused to do any more work. I was unable to use my boat the entire summer of 2020...during COVID! They dont feel like they have to answer your questions. And they get offended by your questions saying that you dont trust them. Worst customer service ever. Stay away.

Bought my boat from Chatlee in May 2020. When I bought the boat I added bow cushions in my purchase, it’s now August 8th 2020 and I still don’t have my bow cushions. Called and they said they were just ordered on August 3rd. $600 for bow cushions and almost 3 months later they are just now being ordered. Got a voicemail from Chatlee stating that my boat is ready and to just bring it back during the off season to put cushions on. I called them to ask them if they would just come out and install them on my boat whenever they came in since I live 1 hr and 20 mins away, got told they could teach me how to do them myself. Probably is an easy process but that’s not the point, if I mess up will Chatlee pay for it because I doubt it would be under warranty. So now I’m waiting for my boat to be finished because of bow cushions and basically missing a month and a half at least of boating season.

I attended the Raleigh Bass and Salt water expo a few weeks ago. I was in the market for a center console boat to enjoy fishing and cruising Lake Gaston where I live. I had previously spoken with salesman Marc Zimmerman by phone and he had given me basic information regarding the different models of the Carolina Skiff JVX, JV, DLX, DLV, etc.After much more research I thought I was pretty sure I wanted a Carolina Skiff 198 DLV.Looked Marc up at the boat show and we explored the 198 DLV as well as the 218 DLV as well as other center console manufactures. Bottom line at the end of the day the 218 DLV was the winner .... much more boat(storage) for about $600 more than the 198.Chatlee customized the boat with the electronics, trolling motor, etc I wanted. I had them deliver the boat right to the lake as I really didnt need a trailer as I have a boat-lift/boat-house. I was fully checked out on the boats equipment as we cruised around the lake.I can not say enough good things about my whole experience. First with Marc Zimmerman and then with many helpful calls to the guys in the parts department helping answer any question regarding my equipment. I was really surprised at how everyone I came in contact with at Chatlee really made me feel special and that they appreciated my business.I absolutely love my boat and enjoyed the buying experience with Chatlee.

Drove 5 hours and 45 minutes to this retail location. Looked at Carolina Skiffs and decided on a 24 Elite. Came to agreement on pricing and equipment, paid cash deposit and both parties signed form. Wife so excited. Sent pictures to her friends on the way home, had fun time deciding what to name this vessel. Worked on an ad to use for the sale of our existing boat. But, phone rings and it is the salesman. States we have a problem. I saw my wifes expression go blank. He had used figures from a different boat. The new price was not what I was willing to pay. The disappointment and hurt expressed by my wife crushed me, she was so excited. I place my wife above everthing but God and can live without the boat but her disappointment still haunts me. Owner was eager to mail my deposit back to me. Guess it was the Lords way of saying be content with what he had provided and move on.Update, I made another offer and we agreed to a price. They were very willing to work with me. Strange how things work out.

Very dissapointed called to ask about buying a Motorguide Xi5 $2000.00 trolling motor and with cables and batteries probably another $700.00-$800.00. I asked if they could order and install this for me. The answer was a question. He asked what year is your boat. I said its a 2007 he then says with a sharp tone we cant install that. We are so busy we dont work on boats more than 10 years old. Well that is his answer and thats the policy, but it sure does not make me happy. He then said he could order the parts for me. That was nice of him, But why would I buy parts from them if they are not going to install them? Did i just get boat snobbed? thats the strangest thing.

Not much here to look at for boating supplies or repair. They do have a parts counter. I think their main mission is boat sales but not much of a show room in the front building. I would have liked to look around in other buildings but Im sure I would have been accompanied by a sales man.

I took my boat in for not performing well on low end. I talked to the mechanic and he immediately said he thought the boat need a different prop size. 5 days later my boat was ready for pickup so they put her in the water and we tried her out. Wow what a difference the boats throttle response was amazingly better with a plane time of about 6 seconds with 4 people aboard. It use to take 8 seconds with 3 people. They had tried several props but in the end went from a 21 pitch to a 18 pitch both in stainless. Thank you guys for taking time to get it right. I will definitely continue doing business with you. Good products sales and service not that good. after buying a $40,000 boat youd think the salesman would lead you in the right direction as far as extras on the boat seat. And you would think the first service on the boat would be free not. And if you live out of town and take Your Boat to be serviced there after making an appointment you have to wait only 6 hrs or leave your boat and go back to pick it up. The two stars in is just because Ive had no problem with the boat

Where can I start... I purchased a brand new 2019 SouthBay Tritoon in April of this year and paid Cash for it, and have had nothing but issues since the first month it hit the water. Speakers not working, depth finder not even half the time, no keys for the lockable console, and the radio quit after two months. It’s always covered when not in use and have called atleast 10 times, leaving messages with Chris my sales rep, and have talked to Service once and then never got anymore call backs concerning any of my issues whatsoever. So to make this simple, if you want a decent price on a boat and like the inventory they have fine, but there is absolutely ZERO and I Mean ZERO Service after the sale. I would hate to know how bad they treat customers that actually financed their boats. To say I will never do business with this place again is a sever understatement.

I had been shopping around for months when I called and spoke to a sales person. They were nice enough when I first called and promised the world. I was quoted $76,500. I waited around for boat show season (last month) and called back. I am told that they had $5k more in boat show incentives. I took this information and went to my bank after getting the over the phone quote. I was approved and called back. This is when things went bad. All of a sudden the price was $76,395 (what happened to the $5k?). I had used this quote for financing. They tried to tell me that some of the incentives were year round, but if that were the case then why tell me about the incentives? I felt I was lied to which led to me having to rerun authorizations through my bank and underwriting once I found someone who could provide me with an actual price and stick to it, this took a week out of my life of stress and aggravation.This ultimately led me to look closer at the other boat line I was looking at.

Awful service dept. Trying to take my business to a local dealer and help them out. Needed advice on a prop for my stingray ski boat that got damaged on the lake. The service dept had some but didnt know if it would fit my application or not. He sent me to another guy in the service dept that was suppose to know-no answer so I left voicemail. I didnt get a returned call so I called again- he said let me get you our service manager Jimmy- he didnt answer either- I left him a voicemail.....no call back days later so I call 1 more time asking for the service manager. The response was hes been busy (which is understood) but dont tell the customer someone will call you back and dont. I would rather someone be honest and tell me look hes busy he will call you back within the next week. I still didnt ever get a call back from anyone. I took my business to West Marine. They actually got staff that has knowledge and are there to help you! The 2 props ($400) worth that I purchased from West Marine are perfect OEM products. Chatlee missed out on revenue due to sorry service dept.. If this continues Chatlee will be slowly sinking.

Went to their website and filled out their service request form. Got an email asking me to bring in my Yamaha motor for service. Drove 30 min to Chatlee and when I went inside the guy says they don’t service smaller motors and they don’t sell any less than 50 hp? Here was the service guys response:“We actually do not sell any of the small engines like this although it being a four stroke Yamaha I feel we could have taken care of it. The motor is slightly older that what we normally take in we are only supposed to go back 15 years. This time of the year I tend to get a little more lenient on what we take in.ThanksJammie”I wish I would have saved myself the drive and time and went someplace else.

This is a tight ship here at Chatlee Marine. Brad Brinkley met me at 7:40 am on Friday to get my boat checked in and started the work. I needed an oil change and general 75 hour service on my Yamaha motor. They did some minor warranty work and some on their own accord and took care of me like most people dont do anymore. Like family and we mattered to them. It is a great visit each time we go to Chatlee. Working together and get boat work done. Chatlee has made owning my first boat a true family experience and their attitude every time we come there has been outstanding from sales to service and questions. Joel Wood was very helpful with his review of my Lowrance Sonar unit and I learned a bunch in about 10 minutes from him. Charlie Yow was the one who wrapped up my service on Saturday morning and did a great job of helping find a knee board and rope and explain how to use them as I asked some questions.Yay Chaltee Marine-all the time on top of your game.Mr. Matt Wicker was the young man who sold us our SH Ultra 23-4 and has continually been a voice to talk to and shared knowledge and interest in helping us with any and all questions.

I had great service when Chatlee fixed my 97 Nitro Bass Boat. The mechanic was very knowledgeable and informed me of a few different things when I picked my boat up. We tested it in the on location test pond and it was clearly fixed. I am confident that it was done right the first time. The service was great and the people were very friendly. Thank you Chatlee!

They left a mess in the boat, parts, pieces, etc., boat ran good after repair. Staff was very nice, exterior well kept.

Bought 2 new boats from Charleton at Chatlee. Boats have been in for regular service, storage as well as emergency service. Every single time have had nothing but perfect service from Jimmy, Joel, Ricky and everyone else involved. Brad in service even worked on my jet ski in a timely fashion. Excellent service dept.

It shouldnt be called service if there isnt any. Tried to schedule service and was told 3-4 weeks. OK no problem, I will deliver you my boat in 3-4 weeks. Doesnt work like that. I guess they prefer my boat in their yard when I prefer my boat under my feet in the water.Only place I have ever seen that doesnt schedule appointments. I am sure they have lots of reasons and they all boil down to too much trouble - make it the customers problem. Chatlee should hire hire a professional service manager and run a professional service operation.

Been a customer for a long time. few weeks ago needed to get a simple service. when i went to pick up the boat they had performed services i did not ask for or agree to have done. obviously upset about it and the response was well the work has already been done. 14 ridiculous labor hours later i had to pay the price... extremely disappointed will not return with my or my families boats after years of business.

Buyers beware.!!! Made a call to Chatlee today to inquire about a boat price. Boat is showing Call for Price on website so I did my research on NADA Boats before calling. Salesman over the phone asked for $13,995 for a boat with average Retail per NADA of $8,220. I asked him again and was told, yes, thats the price, the boat is very clean . $5k over NADA price seems excessive for just been clean...dont you think? Will prefer to drive a little bit farther with other dealers in the area before letting them rip me off..

Was promised that they would match any competitors price at the boat show. We took the Chatlee quote to a competitor. When the competitor called for a clarification, Charlton immediately called us back and proceeded to berate us for going to the competitor. Very unprofessional. We were also never granted the test drive we requested several times. The competitor spent half a day with us test driving what we considered a major investment in a 25 Sea Hunt and won our business for life. The Competitor is Boats Unlimited in Wilmington and the Salesman is Matt Mabe and they are top notch.

Bought a new Stingray last year and the family took it out every other weekend, at least. Took it to Chatlee for its first service, to be winterized and again to be unwinterized. Bought the correct gas at a reputable station and did everything a responsible boat owner needed to do. We took it out last weekend and it sputtered around, didnt start at one point and never got up to full speed. Brought it to Chatlee and were told we got some bad gas and that everything was gunked up and needed to be flushed out at a cost of over $400. We believe the winterization was not done correctly and the additive was not added, but instead of taking any responsibility, or even admitting it may have happened, we are stuck with a huge bill and are DONE WITH CHATLEE. They dont care though because they have a huge customer base, but its sad that after one year we are already ready to NOT be boat owners. Think twice about buying a boat and think again about buying at Chatlee.

Very very expensive and I mean extremely expensive to have any service done and there is a long wait for it too. They want you to drop your boat off and leave it there until they are ready --- you cant schedule an appointment! It could sit there a month or more! Some charges are simply outrageous and they do whatever they want and dont clear it with you first. And its even hard to get the service department manager to reply to email --- took a week to get an answer and price estimate. Im not going here anymore. Period. There are more reasonable places here in town. Just Google it. 😤

Bought the boat there and was nothing but a one issue after another due to the boat not prepped correctly or even washed before pickup. Twice I took it back for warranty issues and it returned with new damage. Thankfully Yamaha covered the damage done under the warranty. The motor was setup with a prop not even listed by Solas for the engine, trailer tongue popped of the ball due to being too loose (luckily I was just taking off from a stop so no damage). I had to seek outside assistance from manufactures to get what little work was done by them. Never will I go back there for anything. Ultimately, I had to find another dealer to do service and repairs. Obviously, they changed from when the reviews posted on the web were listed 3 to 4 years back.

BEYOND SUPERIOR SERVICE!I just purchased a Yahmaha VXR from Chatlee and their customer service is beyond fantastic. My teenage son lost the remote within days of the purchase and we had to visit Chatlee to get it replaced. I showed up in a very bad mood and was difficult to deal with. Joel and his staff from the service department were extremely professional reprogramming the remote and also readjusted the reverse on the jet ski. I found myself apologizing for my rude behavior and was very thankful for their professionalism. Great first experience with Chatlee. I highly recommend them.

My swim platform on my boat came out on the right side, so I needed some fiberglass and reinforcement work done on the boat to get the platform right. I know their website says they wont do engine work on 15 year or older boats, but fiberglass work isnt engine work. Guess they are not too good at their job.
