Top notch company. The windows and door lines they carry are the best of the best, and their service before and after installation is excellent.
Do not use Portofino!!!! They hung half our windows backwards. The handles did not align, nor lock. They hung a window over the bath tub that was not tempered, it did not pass inspection. The main backward slider they turned around rather than replace, therefore it rains into the house on the wood floors. We tried for over a year to get a reasonable resolution to no avail. We are residence in Santa Barbara Montecito and former residents in Carmel-by-the-sea. The worst company I have ever dealt with. The owner dropped the F bomb to my husband at that point we just called it a loss and misrepresentation on their part.Katie L LindleyScott Teter
The problem with this place is they dont care about their employees and therefore dont care about the customers project. Its a family business and they have 1 agenda. I worked here for 10 years starting in the wood shop and eventually moved into sales and business development. There were no long term company plans such as 401k, profit sharing, health care etc.. Over time it became clear that employees were viewed as adversaries and filed as independent reps or widgets, without a service department. The stain shop was full of illegal Mexican workers that were treated poorly, paid under wage and received no benefits. Its too bad they let a lot of good people walk through the doors over the years. Both employees and potential customers. Once upon a time they offered unique wood doors and windows for a decent value, but without proper sales & service teams.l
If you truly care about the appreciation of your estate then Portofino is your best choice. When it comes to Windows and Doors the cheap root can be disastrous which I found out the hard way.Be aware when buying a home, house flippers will buy Vynle, Milgard, Sierra Pacific, go the cheap route then mark up the value. Then like me for example six years after the windows were installed I have to replace 7 of the 13 windows they retro fitted into my newly bought home. The fact is Coastline homes are prone to Window failure due to the extreme conditions, Constant sunlight light and long periods of dry weather.I followed my Architects advise and Went with Portofino, very happy with the aesthetics and my new appraisal results .
Customer service is simply miserable. Theyre clearly uninterested in anything other than selling, havent been able to get anyone to return a call about replacing a door for a week. And rude as well. Stay away!
Quality people work there. Good customerservice.
I tell ya, great people there and super beautiful area
This is an unethical company run by an unethical owner who does not honor their agreements. The review by Nancy DD says it all.
