1 Oz coffee is a cute open air coffee shop. They had several specialty drinks which were all good - I especially liked the Honey Cinnamon Latte (iced)! They had some tasty looking pastries, and service was fast. Whats really special about this coffee shop is the location - the open air cafe is a real treat, and theres tons of nice seating so you can lounge outside enjoying your order. Plus, its dog friendly! I took photos of the menus and the location, so check out my photos to get a feel for what 1 Oz coffee has to offer!
The setting alone is worth the stop, but as a chai drinker I’m pleased to see multiple offerings (spicy, turmeric, dirty) with alt milks. The indoor/outdoor modern and botanical design elements will keep you from remembering you have somewhere else to be, as long as you’ve grabbed a coveted sofa seat. More croissants (they ran out by 11am), and at least one more umbrella would be my only suggestions for improvement.
☕Coffee 5⭐ 💁Service 4⭐ 🍽️Atmosphere 5⭐A cafe without walls, literally (for customers). Staff recommended a Columbian pour over. I find pour overs a gamble. This gamble paid off, was a real pleasure. Is a recreation area for the business park.Cafe has a few seat under a veranda and ~4 big double, counter facing, couches lining a wood deck in the sun. Had been recently stained, smelt great.Theres also a ping pong table with bats and balls, not sure if meant only for staff.
I had hopes when I saw how high the ratings were at 1 Oz. I thought, perhaps I can get a proper cappuccino. I ordered 2 cappuccinos, no special requests. I should have paid attention. The menu says a cappuccino is 2 shots of espresso, steamed milk, and is 8 oz. If I had read that, I would not have ordered it. To be fair, they delivered exactly that - an 8 oz drink, so I cannot fault them. For me, a cappuccino with two 1 ounce shots, if made with equal parts espresso, milk and foam, should come out as being between 4 oz and 6oz, not 8 oz. So, as far as I am concerned, what I got is a latte: 2 oz of espresso, 6 oz of milk, very little foam. It might have even been a flat white.I knew as soon as I picked up the cups that they were too heavy to be real cappuccinos. But the thing I really noticed was that the cups themselves were not very hot. I took a sip and realized that the milk was lukewarm. For that, they get 1 star.
Wonderful spot for coffee. It’s probably a good thing that they’re only open one day a week because we would probably eat too many croissants (Alexander’s!). Beautiful serene landscaping makes for a perfect Friday morning. Great vegan options as well - the oat milk mocha and chia pudding (strangely delicious strawberry compote) is my go-to.
Completely outdoor seating with very clean tables and umbrella. Its got a very nice vibe.... feels like you are sitting in a park but much cleaner. They have a unique coffee selection. I loved their Ube latte. I can definitely see myself going back here with friends to hang out.Service is great as well.
1 Oz is such a hidden gem! The staff are so friendly and Ive genuinely never had a bad coffee here. Its always delicious. Theres lots of seating around the courtyard. Its a really great place to spend time with friends and have great coffee and pastries!
This coffee shop has such a cute outside ambiance! The chairs are nice and there’s free wifi too! I got the chia seed pudding and enjoyed how unique the food was - I also had a bite of the matcha crossaint which was flakey and buttery as well.I thought that the turmeric latte I got was a great flavor as well and really was a nice warm drink to keep as I drew at the tables. Would come again.
Hard to find if you looking for a simple coffee shop not it. Its hard to find and gotta park and walk. Please dont order delivery here your delivery guy will be lost looking for this place
Beautiful open seating area with lots of sunlight. A great place to enjoy your coffee.
There was a long line and wait, which I am fine with for good coffee. Unfortunately, the coffee was mediocre and not worth the wait
I visited today. The seating is open air/outside. No tables were available when I visited, which was a bit disappointing. The baristas seemed inexperienced and it took quite a long time for them to prepare my drink.I would recommend the 1 Oz Coffee location on Castro Street in Mountain View instead, where the baristas seem proficient.
I was excited to try this place after reading the glowing reviews, but I’m not sure what the big deal is... other than the outdoor seating area, which is spacious and cute. The drinks are very expensive, and while the latte art is well done, the flavor is just not there. I got the mocha and my friend got the cinnamon honey latte - both of these drinks felt like they had too much milk and not enough coffee flavor. My mocha tasted like chocolate milk. Just not what I was expecting for a $6 mocha.
Not nearly as good as expected. The coffee was mediocre and was served lukewarm when I had asked for extra hot.
Location is great, but the service was a little lackluster for the price. The line took a while to get through and the iced mocha I got was underwhelming.
A really nice little outdoor shop. It is inside the business courtyard so you have to walk in. A bit of a bummer they are only open on the weekends, but makes sense because of the lack of people in on the business days. Coffee is really really good, great specialty coffee. Their pour over and espresso is very nice. Prices are what you would expect at a specialty coffee place.
Nice outdoor setting. Quite (at least for now) area. Good coffee. I havent tried the pastry. Somewhat on expensive side ($5 for small capuchino)
Its good! Ordered ube latte and matcha croissant, they were okay and not too sweet.
Extremely slow, took over 15 minutes to get a cappuccino. Horrible service. Coffee tasted pretty generic, just like starbucks
Ambience is pretty good. The place has a nice relaxed outdoor vibe. But the coffee wasnt all that Impressive. Especially Mocha is a bit disappointing.
I have stopped by 1 Oz on the way to work a few times and each time the coffee has been great. I usually get a Gibraltar and 1 Oz does a great job with the drink. At the moment they are serving Vertigo and Devout coffee, which are great coffee shops to visit as well. The location can be hard to find at first as 1 Oz is physically located in a business office courtyard. Trust Google Maps directions, park, walk into the courtyard and you cant miss it.
Nice ambience. Great service. Average coffee.
This is pretty cool place to go during the weekend, one of the secrets of the Valley!
Mocha is good. Nice texture and flavor. Pastries are hidden away, but interesting varieties. Baklava croissant was good but not amazing. Location is a bit tough to find - go around the side of the svb building and walk down between the two sets of buildings. Nice place, one you find it - cool outside vibe. Bocce ball courts and wooden chairs.
One of the best coffee shops around and this particular one has an outstanding outdoor area to relax.
Nice hang out place. Go with their latte selection.
Great coffee and Great customer service. I regularly buy their awesome coffee. In addition, I went there to buy a bag of coffee for my home espresso. The Barista asked me if I have a grinder at home, which I don’t. She offered to grind the beans and help me out. Awesome service.. thanks much guys. You guys add flavor to our work area and you rock ❤️
Seems like a strange location, but the courtyard is really nice. The coffee is good, although I prefer a little stronger. I got the honey cinnamon latte and my partner for the ube latte.
Great coffee, nice spot to sit & also walk around
1 oz is one of my go-to spots for coffee. I really really like their pour over and chai latte. After having Chai latte here, other places never ranked above this one and I always come back here. The location was a little tough to find the very first time as its surrounded by corporate offices and thus Id like to call this a hidden gem. Then open air seating is just like a cherry on top! Whether its cloudy or sunny, this gives you the best picturesque view and is instagrammable!
Really good pour over and great service.
Stand in the middle of a bunch of businesses. nice seating area (chairs arent too comfy though). chai latte was really good (spiced, but not gritty and grainy). parking not bad on a sunday afternoon but not sure how it is on weekdays.
An amazing hidden gem of a coffee shop. They make a very good cup of coffee, worth the walk over. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They also have good baked goods (supplies run out fairly quickly though). There isnt dedicated parking for the place so youll have to use the shared bank parking.
Perfect cappuccino! Not bitter, creamy and one size only. The croissant was crispy and fresh. Going back this weekend!
Great cup of coffee and good pastries too. Hidden gem for sure.
Pretty decent coffee but the place is very relaxed and nice!
Place is set up inside of a business complex and has only morning and early afternoon hours. However, it was busy when we went around 12:00pm. There is comfortable seating nearby and bathrooms. The staff was very friendly and pricing is acceptable. The coffee is good. Would most likely come back if I lived here.
On a weekend, chill place to sit down, read a book and have some coffee. As the picture suggests, I had the matcha tea. Wanted to try it for quite sometime- I wasn’t disappointment. The drink was well made, beautifully presented and was lightly sweetened. Tasted great.Only issue, drink was lukewarm. Also $5.45 for a latte? I don’t know enough about coffee to know if that’s a good price. But for me, that’s a touch expensive.
During covid there’s no place to sit, and enjoy your coffee and pastry. Just a few benches inside the courtyard of some commercial buildings, because they packed away all chairs and tables. And there’s not always shade. However, the coffee is delicious here, and the service is warm and friendly. You won’t be able to see this place from the street, so you need to head to Silicon Valley Bank, and park on the side of the building where you see lots of cars parked. The shop itself is new, cute and clean, and semi-outdoor.
Wonderful vibe, great tasty for coffee. Nothing to go for coffee near this area.
Friendly baristas, delicious coffee, love the outdoor seating.I usually get Americano or Mocha. They have a few lactose free options: soy milk, almond milk and oat milk. I recommend the oat milk!Lunch time gets a bit busy with the office workers nearby. They have another store in Mountain View that’s as lovely!
The coffee was good. Yet they had no creamer at 9 am as they ran out. But they had a whole week to buy as they are closed through the weekday
Super cute space…
A Great Spot!
Drinks are pretty good, but the big draw here for us is the environment. This place is hidden inside the courtyard of the office buildings. It has a very welcoming and comfortable seating area that extends through the entire courtyard. Theres a ping pong table and bocce ball that can be used. Its a great spot to just have a drink and hangout on a sunny day.
Turmeric latte, with no coffee. It was great... but no espresso? I do look forward to going back and getting the beet latte, I guess Ill add a shot to that.
Surely felt lost trying to find the hidden coffee shop- its like built into a wall in the middle of an open space... but as soon as I popped in front of it I was completely welcomed by two friendly folks ! The man wearing an 11th Hour Coffee was extremely friendly to me and taught me a little extra about coffee and some other things which I really appreciate. On top of that they brewed the best cup of coffee ever ! Light and fruity Kenya pour over. Thank you guys so much!! I will be back to try the lattes :)
High quality coffee with beautiful open area. Great place to hangout. Too bad it is only open on Saturday now.
Fun little outside coffee bar. This location only has espresso and pourover coffee, no drip coffee prepared in advance. The staff were easy to talk to and made sure to make my coffee well instead of just rushing it outThey do have another location, in Mountain View I think they said, that is a full shop instead of just the outdoor one
Good coffee, delicious croissant, nice ambience and service was decent too. Not giving it 5 stars because when I asked for a lemonade, I didnt expect a raspberry fizzy one, and without being told it would be that way. I probably couldve asked them to return it and they would have but this could have been clarified while ordering. Anyway offering this as feedback to the owner - will still be going back for the coffee.
Quiet. Perfect on a summer morning, but until 10 only 2 tables are in the shade, so I cannot say its great for laptop use. Better to read a paper. Toilets are surprisingly clean and spacious. On a sunny day, the parking structure to the N will keep your car cool
We had a great pour over coffee and Chai latte here. The open-air ambience just makes it excellent. This shop sits amidst a set of corporate buildings. So be sure to look around if you dont find at first. Sunny weekend mornings are best time to visit this place. Usually more people visit by the noon. All in all a fantastic place to sit in the sun, take a walk, relax and have fun.
Its a pretty good cup of Joe
Great spot for coffee with a chill outdoor seating area. Personally one of my favorite spots kick back, enjoy a cup of coffee and get work done. I would definitely recommend this spot to wind down during a warm sunny day as it can get quite windy or cold if you arent prepared.
Wow! This coffee will wake you up! I got an iced coffee and loved it. Nice space as well for work or meeting a friend.
Worst coffee Ive tasted for 6 bucks. Feel free to waste your money here.
Nice little area, with outdoor seating and shade. In the middle of a business buildings complex.Coffee is great! Will be back to try some of the month offer beverages like the beet latte!
Serves vertigo coffee beans from the Fremont roastery. The outdoor seating is nice and they have a shaded part as well. Recommend coming here but they do close early.
I really loved coming out to 1 Oz on the beautiful spring day after so much rain. Their espresso tonic was so delicious! I was so happy to see that it was even offered!Keep up the great work yall!
Outdoor coffee shops are a commodity here but its in a nice and relaxing environment even with the California weather. Plenty of tables and seats, but you got to come early for the shaded spots. Otherwise, its a nice place to hang out or do meetings at. Definitely would recommend.
The baristas here pull amazing shots and pour beautiful art. Not too many sweet drinks, but enough to keep non coffee people happy. A lovely garden ambience in the middle of a bunch of business and bank buildings. Service is delightful, the owner and her staff love coffee, very knowledgeable, and eager to please. My favorite coffee spot in Santa Clara. Thank you Yulia and staff!
Cozy ultra modern outdoor kiosk tucked inside an office building square. Friendly knowledgeable baristas serving top of the line 3rd wave espresso drinks, as well as a limited variety of pastries and cookies/bars. Free WiFi.
Nice outdoor seating
Tried Gibraltar, it was nice. The location was initially hard to find as it is surrounded by buildings on all 4 sides and you dont see it from the parking spot. But search for it and enjoy a drink of nice coffee. They also have nice patio area to laze around with the coffee.
I really like this place. 1oz makes great espresso and espresso-based drinks. Baristas are nice, friendly and helpful. Theyll be happy to recommend you a drink or coffee beans that are the best fit to your taste and method of brewing. They use and sell delicious beans from Vertigo coffee roasters. Have a plenty of space, so you can always find a seat to enjoy your 1 oz ;)
Excellent coffee (try the mocha with marshmallow for a real treat, or for the calorie-conscious any of the pour over coffees are great) with a truly outstanding staff. Even in this area with a surplus of excellent coffee house workers this staff stands out. Only complaints: challenging to find on your first try (just park anywhere in the lot and take the paths to central convalescence), and the short duration of open hours!
I stumbled across 1 Oz completely by accident. It is square in the middle of an office park. The location is in an amazing courtyard with lots of seating and games (ping pong, etc). They focus on the basics and cycle through very good single source coffees from around the world. An absolute must for coffee lovers who live or work in silicon valley.
My favorite coffee shop, they melt chocolate chips for the mochas. Try the homemade marshmallows too!
