Great mechanic and honest. He is the first person I go to for anything car related.

Ive been taking my car to Mike for nearly 20 years. Though locations of the shop have changed, his attention to detail both preventative care and repair to my vehicle, and most importantly, honesty has not wavered. Its nice to be able to speak directly to the person who looks under the hood and walk out knowing that your car is in good hands.

(First written in 2014 and see new update below) I have known Mike (the owner) for 10 years. During these years he has proved again and again that he is a man of expertise, experience, and integrity, and he has truly won my trust and respect.I remembered when I first brought my car to him, his was running a huge car repair shop with $1,000,000 annual revenue. The business was extremely good. Then the 2008 great recession hit the whole nation. I saw Mike moved his business at least three times, and finally settled in a much smaller place. A few years ago I talked to him and he was thinking about closing the business because of the bad economy. But even during this most difficult time things have happened that further convinced me about Mikes knowledge and integrity.I am a Prius owner. One day a warning light was on. I thought I better let the dealer take a look because Prius was more complicated than traditional cars. I brought my car to a dealer and quickly they came back to me and said some expensive parts need to be replaced, and they charged me about $100 for the diagnosis itself. If I let them do the repair they would reduce the final cost by $100. I was not very convinced so I paid them $100 and brought my car to Mike. He and one of his mechanics ran some tests on my car for hours--I mean hours literally--and then he told me the parts were fine, no problem at all. And they reset the warning light and charge me: $0. I was really impressed and grateful that I had known this trustworthy gentleman.During this difficult time, his mechanics more than once found some problems with my cars. But after his personal inspection Mike either told me: no need to worry; its fine, or I could wait a little bit longer. And he explained in details why I did not need to fix them right away.Unfortunately, it seems that even with his expertise and integrity he still may not be able to save his business under this bad economy. All I can do is to encourage him to carry on (for my own benefit) and pray for him.Update (2019): Mike moved his shop to the current address (25845 Railroad Ave, Santa Clarita, CA 91350). Now he is the only one who does all the work, but still as knowledgeable, considerate, and patient as before. As the other reviewer nicely put: Its nice to be able to speak directly to the person who looks under the hood. So go ahead and enjoy this privilege with peace of mind.
